Chuck D Criticized By Fans Over U.S. State Department Partnership

Chuck D is arguably the most famous political rapper of all time. He rattled the music industry as the voice of Public Enemy, and solidified himself as a genre legend in the process. Chuck D is a name that’s synonymous with rebellion and individuality, which is why his recent decision has drawn so much criticism. The rapper partnered with the U.S. State Department and President Joe Biden to serve as a Global Music Ambassador. It’s a title that sounds good on paper, but is setting off alarm bells for hip-hop fans.

Variety announced the partnership on June 25. Chuck D was unveiled, alongside Lainey Wilson, Herbie Hancock, and several others, as the face of the program. The Public Enemy icon even issued a statement that outlined his intentions. “Bridging cultural divides and inspiring positive change has been part of my life’s work,” he claimed. “And it is a responsibility I don’t take lightly. Being a global music ambassador is an opportunity to use my voice and music to inspire everyone.” Chuck D also expressed a desire to set a good example for future artists. “[I want to see] new generations of human beings from many places,” he asserted. “Leading, activating and uniting making a better world through Music which is the universal language.”

Chuck D Drew Criticism From Hip-Hop Fans

The comments were not as optimistic as Chuck D. Twitter users took the rapper to task for aligning himself with the government. Especially given the topics he’s spent his entire career rapping about. “Promote peace on whose terms, though?,” one user asked. Another user spun the meaning of the rapper’s iconic anthem “Fight the Power” against him. “‘Fight the power’ by joining an empire of lies,” they tweeted. There were even some who pointed out that Chuck’s decision contradicts the things he was saying earlier this year.

Chuck D urged fans to be wary of the State of Union address President Biden gave in March. He told people to pay attention, even if they didn’t like what they were hearing. He also made it clear that he wasn’t endorsing one political side over the other. “When I say pay attention,” he wrote on Twitter. “It doesn’t mean I’m making a [sic] assumption of who to vote on. I just tell folk stop voting for candidates and expecting them to be Jesus. They ain’t and you best to make them accountable.”

Belly Calls Out The Government Lies On Pro-Palestinian Track “Patience Vs. Patients”

A few weeks ago, Macklemore shed some much-needed light on the awful circumstances that are taking place between Israel and Palestine. Thousands upon thousands of natives from the latter are being murdered, misplaced, and etc. This tragedy is something that the Seattle rapper felt is not discussed enough amongst his peers, so he dropped “Hind’s Hall”. Macklemore has been in plenty of difficult situations in the past when talking about social issues in his career. But he decided to speak his mind unapologetically and he got a lot of well-deserved praise for talking about something he cannot directly relate to. Now, Belly, a native Palestinian, is joining him in the protest against the U.S. government on “Patience vs. Patients”.

In “Hind’s Hall”, Macklemore directly called out President Joe Biden for being a supporter of Israel’s attacks. “The blood is on your hands, Biden, we can see it all“. The former collaborator of Ryan Lewis also called out the media for consistently covering the brutal Drake Kendrick Lamar feud more than the ongoing bloody war in real life. However, Belly is not getting as direct on “Patience vs. Patients”. The track is much shorter, only clocking in at 1:20. Still, his words are just as important.

Listen To “Patience Vs. Patients” By Belly

Belly’s overarching message is that will the government is showing hardly any signs of urgency, countless lives are continuing to be lost. He also highlights the number of lies being told by certain political parties. Finally, Belly also mentions that the Palestinians are still painted as the bad guys. “Kill us in broad day, then they blame the deceased / There was no change, even when we came with receipts / Cause we gave ’em to a nation of sheep“. Be sure to support “Patience vs. Patients” with the link above.

What are your thoughts on “Patience vs. Patients” by Belly? Is this the best pro-Palestinian track that has been released, why or why not? Is he still a criminally underrated rapper, or is he properly rated? What is your favorite aspect of it? TikTok Sues The U.S. Government Over Recently Passed Ban

One of the biggest stories in the tech sector across the past month has been a potential ban of the social media app TikTok. For months American politicians have made the app an enemy claiming its Chinese parent company could be harvesting data from American users. Many have also speculated there could be additional alternative motives like preventing people from getting minute-by-minute updates of the conflict in Gaza. A bill to move towards a potential ban of the app made its way through congress and was signed into law by the president last month.

While the move sounded splashy it was always going to be an extended battle between the massively popular app and the American government. Now TikTok has made its first big move since the ban passed, suing the government in the D.C. circuit. They’re arguing the ban, or attempt to force their parent company to sell the app to someone else, constitutes a violation of free speech. “For the first time in history, Congress has enacted a law that subjects a single, named speech platform to a permanent, nationwide ban,” the lawsuit reads. The government is likely to counter with an argument built around proving that the app’s Chinese owners make it a threat to national security.

TikTok Files New Lawsuit Following Ban

The lawsuit follows a pretty big victory for the social media platform earlier this month. Last week they finally struck a deal with Universal Music Group to return music from the labels artists to the platform. User had found old videos muted and many of the biggest artists in all of music unavailable for use in TikTok videos. The two parties finally found a negotiable solution, though they didn’t reveal the details of the deal they ultimately signed.

What do you think of TikTok suing the US government over the recently passed ban of the app? Who do you think will ultimately come out on top in the fight over whether or not the app will be banned? Let us know in the comment section below.

Macklemore Fed Up With Drake Vs. Kendrick Lamar Beef Coverage In Pro-Palestinian Track “HIND’S HALL”

Macklemore has been the butt of a lot of jokes and ridicule over the course of his career. Most of that is from infamously “robbing” Kendrick Lamar of multiple GRAMMY awards at the 56th show. However those criticisms are out the window after the Seattle rapper spoke up in a big way. He dropped “HIND’S HALL,” a pro-Palestinian anthem. It is a form of commentary on the lack of coverage of the tragedies occurring in the Middle East. During the passionate 2:49 track, Macklemore also takes some jabs at Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

What happened to the artist? What d’you got to say? / If I was on a label, you could drop me today
I’d be fine with it ’cause the heart fed my page / I want a ceasefire, f*** a response from Drake (Woo)
.” It is not a direct shot at either artist. Instead, it is him venting his frustrations at how much publicity their bloody feud is getting. However, it could be taken as “why are my fellow artists not speaking out and doing what they can to show support for Palestine?”

Macklemore Doesn’t Want To Hear About Drake & Kendrick

One name who has been heavily criticized for not doing anything during this lengthy travesty is DJ Khaled, especially since his parents are Palestinian. The Weeknd has been one major artist who has done what he could and then some, donating millions of dollars worth of food to aid the Palestinian people. “HIND’S HALL” is currently on Macklemore’s social media platforms. But when it hits streaming, all of the proceeds are doing directly to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestine refugees.

What are your thoughts on Macklemore dropping “HIND’S HALL” and calling out Drake and Kendrick Lamar? Does this track come across as corny and as a way to capitalize on the beef, or was this needed? Will either rapper respond, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. 6ix9ine Cuba Visit Forces Government To Shut Down Internet

6ix9ine recently visited Cuba, and the results proved so chaotic that the government of Cuba shut down the Internet. Moreover, reports indicate officials shut down services for hours to stop the spread of a video showing the rapper throwing money away. Also, the news comes right as the “FEFE” provocateur announced new shows in Israel and a new Instagram account. Ironically, however, his antics on social media caused an uproar, although accounts differ. Some say he threw dollar bills to crowds from his hotel window, while others claim he did so from his car. Either way, many expressed outrage at the rapper’s insensitive alleged display, including the Cuban government.

Furthermore, they stated that the viral reported incident engaged in “humiliating” and “shameful” behavior. Not only that, but the clip amplified stories of poverty and struggle that many associate with the Caribbean country. Earlier this week, Tekashi posted some videos of his visit, but later deleted them. According to AllHipHop, his actions prompted to government to terminate Internet services temporarily to stop videos of it from spreading.

Translation: “Rapper 6ix9ine launches bills from his hotel room in Havana. Fidel, Raúl, PCC and @DiazCanelB you’ve led the Cuban people to lose even their dignity. Cuban, respect yourself and fight for your freedom, go to the streets but to fight, not to idolize an artist…

However, no one knows the reason behind his stay, or whether he’s still there as of writing this article. After all, tourism is a prohibited industry in the nation. Moreover, U.S. citizens only gain access through group travel as part of a “people-to-people” cultural and/or educational tour. However, the rapper issued a disclaimer regarding his cash in an Instagram Story post days prior. “I ain’t got no money,” the 26-year-old wrote on social media. “That money you be seeing me with on Instagrams that be fake money, props.”

Meanwhile, perhaps his exploits will see the light of day on his new Instagram account, “The Biggest Opp.” While the name is pretty on the nose, he said that he will post much more often on there. “I start today follow @thebigggestttoppp that’s my second page but ima post there more then here,” he wrote. “Im with my friend @madaboutleyh. We on a girls trip. So, like yeah please nobody get mad at me :/ or her please fr.” However you feel about his antics, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest on 6ix9ine.

Fourth Aerial Object Shot Down Over North America, Lawmakers Demand Answers

Much of this past weekend was spent preparing for the Super Bowl. Outside of the world of sports and entertainment, though, several aerial objects have been shot down across North America over the past few days. As The Hill reports, Sunday (February 12) found the U.S. military removing the third unidentified item from the sky in just three days.

At this time, details surrounding the incidents are sparse. Still, several lawmakers are using their platforms to hold the government accountable in offering up an explanation. “There’s been space junk, weather balloons, spy balloons, and military advancements for years,” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote on Twitter yesterday afternoon. “All of [the] sudden world superpowers are shooting unidentified objects down. This looks like a testing of military prowess.”

Later on, the far right-conspiracy theorist added, “Lack of evidence and briefings are extremely noticeable.” Her message came shortly after the fourth object in recent weeks was shot down over Lake Huron. Officials confirmed that the mission was successful during a briefing. They noted that the item was first spotted on Saturday. It came down because it was posing a threat to civilian aviation.

The first incident, involving a Chinese spy balloon, saw President Joe Biden order the floating device’s removal from the Carolina coast last Saturday. Following that, a “high-altitude object” was hovering over Alaska on Friday (February 10). The military promptly shot it down. The next day, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gave NORAD direction to shoot down a similar object found over the Yukon territory.

At this time, the general public is searching for more answers. Specifically, they want to know the origin of the aerial objects and their intention. Finally, others are asking why their appearances have become so frequent lately. Rep. Matt Rosendale is among lawmakers pushing for an explanation.

“Members of Congress must have more timely and accurate information so we can keep our constituents informed. DOD — where are you?” he wrote to the Department of Defense. Elsewhere, two Michigan Reps – Debbie Dingell and Lisa McClain – have been equally voicing their concerns online as well. “The increasing incidents of unidentified objects, the latest over Lake Huron in Michigan airspace, are disturbing,” the former says.

She went on to demand, “We need the facts about where they are originating from. What their purpose is, and why their frequency is increasing.” As for the latter, she told followers, “I have been keeping a close eye on the military’s actions over the Great Lakes today. Our state, and the entire country, deserve answers to what happened, and I will ensure we get them.”

Additionally, Biden’s Administration is facing criticism for their silence on the objects. Late yesterday evening, the DOD reportedly held a press call. Still, the Pentagon hasn’t given any assessment of the unusual item’s origin. It’s worth noting that General Glen VanHerck, NORAD commander, has made it clear that he’s not ruling out the possibility of extraterrestrial activity.

As of Sunday, he is unaware of any other objects causing concern within the U.S. airspace. What are your thoughts on the situation? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more news updates.

Rick Ross Says He’s Afraid To Own A Tesla Because He Might Get Hacked

Rick Ross says that he’s apprehensive about owning a Tesla because he’s afraid the government will hack into it. He explained his reasoning during a video shared on Instagram, earlier this week.

Ross believes that police will be able to gain control over a Tesla if involved in a high-speed getaway.

Michelle, August Alsina & Ty Dolla $ign Presented By Sprite during the 2014 BET Experience At L.A. LIVE on June 28, 2014 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Christopher Polk/BET/Getty Images for BET)

“I won’t have a smart car. Well, I won’t say I won’t have a smart car. But I’ve never ridden in a Tesla, never in my life,” he said. “And the reason being is because I’ve always had in the back of my mind, the government could tap into the brain of the car.”

“‘Ok, where’s Rick?’” Ross mimicked. “‘He’s over there. Bring him in for questioning.’ N***a like, ‘Where am I going? It’s leaving Wing Stop before the wings are even done!’ You pull up to the building and an agent walk out, ‘Hey, Rick.’”

Not everyone is in agreement with Ross’ opinion. Many social media users pointed out in response that tons of cars are made with computers nowadays and could potentially be hacked into. Additionally, Ross uses plenty of other technology that could be tapped into.

Despite reservations about the line of cars, Ross has previously said that he’d trust Elon Musk regarding a trip to Mars. Running into the Tesla owner alongside Diddy and French Montana at Kanye West’s Donda 2 listening party, last year, Ross asked for an invite to space.
