During a recent interview with Carlos King, Drea Kelly opened up about her allegedly abusive relationship with R Kelly. The two of them first married in 1996, and Drea filed for divorce roughly ten years later in 2006. According to her, the abuse she experienced as a child influenced her decision to stay with Kelly as long as she did. She claims her background initially brought her and her ex closer together. Eventually, however, this became a way for him to allegedly control her.

“The way I grew up was to not love myself, to not think I’m worthy and to feel that there’s no escape from this ’cause not only is it my grandfather, it’s my mother. Now, it’s my husband,” she alleged. “So, that’s why I’m in the place that I am today. F*** y’all with a capital F because you have no idea what it’s like to go from being abused to an abused 19-year-old with a man who has this much power and you’re being abused by him and you have nowhere to go and no money to even do it with.”

Drea Kelly Opens Up About Allegedly Abusive Relationship With R Kelly

Drea went on to call out those who have judged her for keeping Kelly’s name despite the alleged abuse. She fired back at claims that she didn’t “bring anything to the table” to earn the right to the name. She even slammed critics comparing her and Kelly’s dynamic to Ike and Tina Turner’s. “You don’t even know what my profession is,” she explained. “And at the end of the day, what do I bring to the table if I am the table?”

“I brought a whole womb. I birthed children, so for women to even say something like that is sad to me…and because you can’t clock what I do, because you haven’t done your research, you think it’s okay to go on the internet and say, ‘she don’t do nothing, Tina Turner did something,’” she continued. “The only difference between me and Tina Turner is she sang on the stage with Ike, I danced on one with Robert.”

Megan Fox & Machine Gun Kelly Break Up While Expecting 1st Child Together

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly have reportedly broken up just weeks after announcing they are expecting a child in March of next year. According to sources for TMZ, Megan found “material” on MGK’s phone that she found upsetting and abruptly ended things. They had been traveling together in Colorado for Thanksgiving as it happened, leading to Kelly bailing on the trip early. TMZ further reports they haven’t seen each other since.

Fox and Kelly first began dating back in 2020, shortly after the actress split from her ex-husband, Brian Austin Green. While she shares three children with Green, her upcoming fourth child will be her first with Kelly. Neither Fox nor Kelly have commented publically on the reported split.

Megan first announced that she was expecting in November. Shortly afterward, she spoke about her experience with PEOPLE. “With this being child #4, I already have learned all the tricks to make my body feel well physically and mentally,” she told the outlet. “I am sleeping and exercising and sticking to my healthy diet and lifestyle, as always.” Fox added that her three kids, Noah, 12, Bodhi, 10, and Journey, 8, are all excited for another sibling. “The kids are all super excited for another addition to the family and have promised to help out and pitch in,” she said.

In other news, Kelly recently confirmed that he’s restarting work on a new album. “Isolating myself in the desert next week to restart this album from scratch. According to a new video circulating social media, Darius Jackson, Keke Palmer‘s ex-boyfriend and the father of her son, has enlisted in the U.S. Army. A livestream clip involving Jackson, 30, and a few others surfaced on Sunday (Dec. 8), with him explaining his plans in the service. Jackson shares that he signed a four-year contract but contemplates completing 20 years. “I’m four right now because I have some plans after this,” says Darius. “But I want to see how my experience is… I don’t know yet.”

The information surrounding Darius Jackson’s enlistment is vague. He does mention his son in the conversation with plans to stay in the service to supply him with future benefits. “I paid attention in that finance class,” he said when it was brought up that children get benefits for 20 years of service. “I was thinking, ‘I see why people just go ahead and do it… I’m indecisive right now, tho.” Keke Palmer and Darius Jackson broke up in November 2023. They co-parent their son born in February 2023.

As for Cardi B, she’s trying to focus up and enjoy life after her divorce from Offset, as she recently revealed that she went on a massive shopping spree after the split. Still, it’s clear that both of them are just looking for other ways to deal with their breakup and move on with their lives. Hopefully the former couple can one day do so without facing so much scrutiny and gossip around their history.
