Cedric the Entertainer responded to Katt Williams’ recent comments on the Club Shay Shay podcast during an appearance at the Golden Globes on Sunday night. Williams had accused Cedric of stealing one of his biggest jokes. In response, Cedric labeled the story, “not even factual.”
“It’s an interesting time now,” Cedric told ET. “People get on these blogs and they just start spewing off stuff that’s not even factual. I let the fodder just go out there until I’m ready to respond to it. I am who I am, I stand on that for sure.”
As for Williams’ allegation, he explained: “He thought that I was just a no-name comedian and that he could take this joke and nobody would know. The issue was that I had already done this particular joke on BET’s ComicView twice. It had done so well on BET’s ComicView that they made it part of the commercial. This is not just a random joke — this is my very best joke, and it’s my last joke, and it’s my closing joke. [In] 1998 I’m doing this joke; it’s on ComicView. Cedric comes to The Comedy Store. He watches me in the audience, he comes backstage. He tells me what a great job I did and how much he loves the joke. Two years later, he’s doing that as his last joke on the [Original] Kings of Comedy and he’s doing it verbatim, he’s just changed my car into a spaceship.” Check out Cedric’s response below.
Cedric The Entertainer Addresses Katt Williams Feud
Cedric The Entertainer wasn’t the only one Williams targeted during the interview. He also called out Steve Harvey and Kevin Hart. Hart responded on Twitter, writing: “Gotta get that anger up outcha champ. It’s honestly sad.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Katt Williams and Cedric The Entertainer’s feud on HotNewHipHop.
Comedian and actor Jo Koy hosted the 2024 Golden Globes last night (January 7), and his joke about Taylor Swift, but more so her reaction to it, is making headlines.
What did Jo Koy say about Taylor Swift at the 2024 Golden Globes?
At one point during the show, Koy said, “As you know, we came on after a football doubleheader. The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL: On the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift, I swear.”
There was some light, scattered laughter from the audience as the broadcast cut to a shot of Taylor Swift. She was either truly not amused or giving a Globe-worthy acting performance, sporting a stern, glaring expression and taking a sip of her drink.

Swift recently addressed backlash from NFL fans over the extensive media coverage of her presence at games, saying in a December interview, “I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
Koy himself acknowledged that his jokes weren’t necessarily all landing, telling the audience at one point, “I got the gig 10 days ago! You want a perfect monologue?” Indeed, Koy was a last-minute hire for the show and had less than two weeks to prepare.
Swift, meanwhile, was part of another viral moment from the evening, although it didn’t happen on stage: Videos from the event show Selena Gomez telling Swift and Keleigh Teller something that got animated reactions, which some believe to be about Kylie Jenner refusing to let her take a photo with Timothée Chalamet.

Billie Eilish and Finneas took home the award for Best Original Song during the 2024 Golden Globes for their work on the Barbie soundtrack with the song, “What Was I Made For?” In the category, they competed against two other songs for the movie. They included Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night” and Ryan Gosling’s “I’m Just Ken.” Other nominates were Bruce Springsteen’s “Addicted to Romance” for She Came to Me, and Lenny Kravitz “Road to Freedom” for Rustin, as well as Jack Black’s “Peaches” for The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
“I was not expecting this in that moment,” she said. “It was exactly a year ago almost that we were shown the movie. And I was very miserable and depressed at the time. Writing that song kind of saved me a little bit. A year later, here we are and I feel incredibly lucky and grateful.” After a brief glance, she added: “You guys scare the living hell out of me, everyone in this room,” before departing the stage.
Eilish released “What Was I Made For?” back on July 13, 2023, as the fourth single from the soundtrack. It peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. It’s also up for five awards at the upcoming 66th Annual Grammy Awards. Its nominations include Record of the Year as well as Song of the Year. Check out Eilish’s speech at the Golden Globes below.

Taylor Swift appeared unimpressed when Golden Globes host Jo Koy joked about her and Travis Kelce’s relationship during his monologue. The comedian used the media frenzy surrounding her attendance at various Kansas City Chiefs games to lighten the mode.
“We came on after a football doubleheader,” he began. “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL… On the Golden Globes we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.” Amid boos from the crowd during the night, Koy defended himself saying: “Yo, I got the gig 10 days ago. You want a perfect monologue? Yo, shut up. I wrote some of these, and those are the ones you’re gonna laugh at.”
The camera also caught Swift’s reaction during Ayo Edebiri’s acceptance speech for Best Performance in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for her performance in The Bear. Edebiri thanked her friends and family as well as “all of my agents and managers’ assistants,” which prompted a smile from Swift. “To the people who answer my emails, y’all are real ones. Thank you for answering my crazy, crazy emails,” Edebiri said. “If I forgot to thank you, I’m sorry. Unless you were mean or something. Okay, bye!”
