French Montana Claims 50 Cent Was The ‘Biggest Genius’ For Using Beef To Sell And Market Records

French Montana recently appeared on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion, where the rapper opened up about his views on fellow musician 50 Cent.

“50 was picking on n***** to pick on n*****. At one point, he was the biggest genius in the music industry,” he claimed. “He would just pick on you and drop a mixtape. Pick on you and drop an album.

“He kinda created that marketing scheme for a lot of artists to use. I mean people did it before him, but he became the mastermind he became the warlord of that… That’s definitely a blueprint for a lot of n***** to learn.”

The two previously had some documented beef that began over a Bugatti and 50 claiming that French faked his music streams. However, the two appeared to have squashed it last November after French Montana expressed his love for 50 Cent’s show, BMF.

“Man, let me tell you something,” French said on Drink Champs. “I have no problem with 50 no more after he dropped this BMF joint. That’s my favorite sh*t. Whatever me and 50 ever had – shout out to 50. Yeah, me and him, everything is over after BMF. That’s the best work ever.”

“That was the right answer French, well handled,” 50 Cent responded. “What beef, I don’t remember.”

Here’s hoping this doesn’t reignite any bad blood.

French Montana Recalls When 50 Cent “Was Pickin’ On N*ggas”

As he awaits the prison release of his good friend Max B, French Montana is on a press run for Coke Boys 6. The recently released Gangsta Grillz project is being scrutinized by Hip Hop Heads worldwide, and as they dissect, French also sat down with My Expert Opinion. Math Hoffa’s famed YouTube series has often delivered hot takes from Rap’s elite. This time, the crew was revisiting when 50 Cent was targeting his foes decades ago.

Over the years, Fif has engaged in beefs with several of his peers. Ja Rule, Rick Ross, Fat Joe, and even his son Marquise Jackson have been on the wrong side of the Power mogul. “50 was picking on n*ggas to pick on n*ggas,” said French.

He continued, “At one point, he was the biggest genius in the music industry,” he claimed. “He would just pick on you and drop a mixtape. Pick on you and drop an album.”

“He kinda created that marketing scheme for a lot of artists to use.” It has certainly been beneficial in today’s culture of Hip Hop. “I mean, people did it before him, but he became the mastermind. He became the warlord of that.”

“That’s definitely a blueprint for a lot of n*ggas to learn.”

French Montana collaborates with Vory on the new “Project Baby (Remix)” music video. The tune focuses on the artists’ rise from the projects to where they are now, and serves as the third video since the release of CB6: Money Heist Edition via Coke Boys Records.

The video for “Project Baby (Remix)” transports viewers to an underground party, where guests are shown smoking, drinking, and playing dice in a circle, while cuts to south Bronx imagery fill the screen. Montana is shown in found film and contemporary photos dancing to trap music and rapping rhymes on top of cars and in the middle of a dice game. Pit bulls, four-wheelers, and individuals in masks smoking are among the frames, and the deep bass helps paint a picture of struggle and survival.

Earlier this week, French Montana revealed Max B will be released from prison this year. The announcement was alongside Montana’s new video for “Lemonade,” with Max asking for the Coke Boys 6 rapper to announce his return home. According to HipHopDX, Max was serving time in crimes related to armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault and felony murder.

“MY BROTHER WAS FACING 75 YEARS .. HE TOLD ME TO TELL YALL HE‘LL BE HOME IN APRIL!!” French wrote. “SILVER SURFER Live from the can [wave emoji] Free the Count [100 emoji] ‘LEMONADE’ VIDEO .. Coke Boys 6 OUT NOW ON ALL PLATFORMS.”

French Montana Has Been Threatened With A Lawsuit Over A Miami Shooting

Last month, French Montana was filming a music video in Miami Gardens when gunfire broke out, wounding 10 people. The Bronx rapper issued a statement expressing regret at the incident and assuring fans his “thoughts & prayers are w/ the victims & families at this time.” However, that hasn’t stopped one of them from apparently pursuing legal counsel — and a potential lawsuit — against the rapper, according to NBC Miami.

Carl Leon, a 25-year-old music blogger who was injured in the shooting, told local news he plans to file suit. His attorney, Josiah Graham, said, “Sometime during the break of one of the scenes, that’s when he heard gunshots. He didn’t know what happened, like everyone else. He took off running. As he’s running, he fell at some point. When he gets up, he discovers he’s been shot.” Although Leon had been invited to the video filming, Graham stressed that Miami police hadn’t issued a permit for it and said, “It’s our understanding that he had an unauthorized video shoot at Finger Licking, so, we’re looking into that.”

However, a link between the film shooting and the guns hasn’t been publicly established, so it’s unclear whether French and collaborator Rob49 were involved or just unlucky. French was at the restaurant to celebrate the release of his mixtape Coke Boys 6, and it appears that any filming took place as part of the celebration, not a separate, planned video. Meanwhile, Rob49 was apparently also hit and hospitalized.

Victim Of Shooting At French Montana Event Considering Lawsuit

He was included in the list of victims who were fired upon, but French Montana may face legal trouble stemming from a recent shooting. Last week, French released Coke Boys 6, and unsurprisingly, he and his crew were in Miami celebrating the project. It was reported that the rapper and his collaborators were shooting a music video outside The Licking restaurant when someone opened fire on the crowd.

Police shared that 10 people were injured during the incident, but thankfully, all are expected to survive. One of the victims was a blogger named Carl Leon, and his attorney, Josiah Graham, is weighing options for a lawsuit.

NBC Miami reported the 25-year-old blogger was invited to the event. Leon is said to have suffered several injuries, including wounds to his hand and stomach. Another bullet “grazed his ear,” the outlet stated.

“Sometime during the break of one of the scenes, that’s when he heard gunshots. He didn’t know what happened, like everyone else. He took off running. As he’s running, he fell at some point,” said Graham. “When he gets up, he discovers he’s been shot.”

“Just literally less than an inch away from sure death,” the lawyer added.

Leon is considering filing a lawsuit, and Graham is currently looking to speak with more witnesses. One person, Wilmark Baez, reportedly let production use his bulldogs and lowrider vehicle for filming. One of his dogs vanished during the shooting but was later returned unharmed. However, Baez’s car is still impounded and he was never paid for his contributions.

Investigators issued a statement saying the necessary permits allowed for production weren’t approved. Thus, police presence and safety measures weren’t implemented.

“One of the biggest deterrents to crime is a police presence or some type of security infrastructure, but certainly with police officers,” Graham said.

Meanwhile, TMZ reported that French sought safety in a nearby KFC. The rapper also issued a statement about the harrowing incident.

“Last night, I was in Miami celebrating the release of my CB6 mixtape w/ friends at a local restaurant,” the statement read. “We unfortunately were at the wrong place, at the wrong time when an incident took place that left people hurt. Our thoughts & prayers are w/ the victims & families at this time.”

According to the Coke Boys captain, the Wave God will be coming home real soon.

French Montana recently announced in a tweet that Max B will released from prison in April of this year while promoting Max’s new “Lemonade” video from French’s latest mixtape Coke Boys 6

Max was sentenced to 75 years behind bars for conspiracy charges related to armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault and felony murder from a botched New Jersey robbery in 2006. In 2016, Max, whose real name is Charley Wingate, had his sentenced reduced to 20 years. His sentenced was then shortened again to 12 years in 2019.

The “Lemonade” video opens with Biggaveli on a prison video call speaking to his fans.

“It’s Max Biggavel. French, what’s good, my n-gga? I’m coming, baby. I’m on they ass,” he says. “Boy looking good, I’m working, got the weight off of me, the weight is up. It’s ‘Lemonade,’ baby, it’s the video. Get ready for it. French Monbega, owww! I love you, beloved. You killin’ them out here.”

Police Chief Passes Blame of Shooting at Miami Restaurant to French Montana

Miami Gardens Police state French Montana did not have video production permits for his music video shoot that ended in a shooting. According to TMZ, Miami Gardens Police Chief Delma Noel-Pratt stated Montana and his team were the sources for the shooting.

“As a result of this disregard of the procedures, the unauthorized music video production led to an unfortunate situation,” Noel-Pratt said. “If the necessary agencies were notified ahead of time and protocol followed, police officers would have been in place to safeguard the community and assist with deterring and responding, if needed, to any situation that may arise.”

French Montana stated he was not shooting a music video, instead, he was “celebrating the release of my CB6 mixtape w/ friends at a local restaurant” and the shooting was a case of wrong place, wrong time.

According to Miami 7, ten people were injured in a shooting outside The Licking. The report confirmed Montana was currently filming a video.

Police and Fire Rescue responded to reports of shots fired at the restaurant that is located at 17600 block of Northwest 27th Avenue ahead of 8 p.m. Law enforcement said there are two additional crime scenes but did not provide the locations of the other two.

“We’re still working [the scene]. Yeah, there’s multiple shots, there’s multiple cases,” said MGPD detective Diana Gorgue. “We’re still working. We can’t confirm any numbers at this moment, because everything is still fresh, and they’re still investigating.”

“We had a total of 10 [victims]. Four brought themselves to the hospital, and we’ve treated six transported,” a paramedic is reported to have said over radio transmissions.

An eye witness, Ced Mogul, at the scene stated he was on hand to watch Montana at the shoot but noticed that someone was robbed of their watch, keys and wallet.

“[He asked to] call his mother and see if we can get spare car keys and make sure, you know, he’s OK, and then the gunshots went off,” said Mogul, “at least 13, 14, 15 gunshots. It was very rapid, it sounded like an assault rifle.”

As of writing, no fatalities have been reported, and no one has been taken into custody.

French Montana Blamed By Police For Miami Shooting

On Thursday night (January 5), reports indicate that there was a shooting on the set of a music video. It was seemingly for French Montana and Rob49‘s new collab, “Igloo.”

Although, the “No Stylist” rapper says the event was instead just a celebration for his latest album, Coke Boys 6. 10 people were shot, including Rob49 himself and Montana’s bodyguard, who is reportedly in critical condition.

However, police are now blaming the 38-year-old for what transpired. Miami Gardens Police Chief, Delma Noel-Pratt says event organizers didn’t obtain the necessary permits. This is reportedly a violation of city policy.

“If the necessary agencies were notified ahead of time and protocol followed, police officers would have been in place to safeguard the community and assist with deterring and responding, if needed, to any situation that may arise,” says Noel-Pratt.

Furthermore, footage obtained by TMZ allegedly shows the Morocco native and others taking to a nearby KFC restaurant for cover. They reportedly stayed inside for 30-40 minutes, until cops arrived at the scene.

On Friday (January 6), the “Unforgettable” rapper took to his Twitter account to make a statement. Notably, he doesn’t mention anything about filming a music video. “Last night, I was in Miami celebrating the release of my CB6 mixtape w/ friends at a local restaurant. We unfortunately were at the wrong place, at the wrong time when an incident took place that left people hurt. Our thoughts & prayers are w/ the victims & families at this time,” writes Montana.

Of course, the sixth instalment of the Coke Boys series did release yesterday (January 6). It boasts features from the likes of Kodak Black, Benny The Butcher, Stove God Cooks and more. DJ Drama takes care of the hosting duties, making it an official Gangsta Grillz mixtape. The Money Heist Edition also dropped, which contains nine extra songs.

TMZ also reports that all of the victims are expected to survive. Finally, make sure to stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest updates.
