Wookie releases single and discusses lessons learned from Future and Casino

Explosive local Atl star Lil Wookie has been cementing his place in Atlanta’s hip-hop scene. The popular Freebandz affiliate was tapped to lead the next generation of Future’s globally successful label by his brother and CEO,  Casino. He’s been on the motivated Wookie to go harder for his dreams and his family. Wookie is back with a catchy new single and visual, “2 Real” which samples Plies and is produced by SquashBangers.

Discovered by Casino, Wookie has been immersed in Atlanta’s hip-hop culture since his early childhood. When he was little, Wookie would overhear his uncle Lil Bo (of the legendary Atlanta rap group The Eastside Boyz) and Lil Jon preparing their rhymes. These moments inspired Wookie to rap. Wookie’s dad soon discovered his son’s ability to rap and encouraged him to write his own raps.

Rapping became Wookie’s life path, and he would even sneak out of the house on school nights to perform at nightclubs, all in pursuit of his dreams. When Freebandz Casino realized how Wookie was serious about rap,  he immediately embraced him professionally. Casino has been his mentor to this day.

Wookie’s music has a raw sound with a gritty cadence. He possesses a unique skill set among today’s rappers, as he is capable of writing lyrics, freestyling, and using the “punch-in” method.

Due to his distinctive abilities, Wookie’s wordplay is frequently quoted on Genius.com. His lyrics range from fun, upbeat vibes to serious street tales, showcasing his versatility. In an era of payola and bots, Wookie has amassed over 5 million organic streams before releasing an EP, LP, or album.

Future Teases New Management Company As He Preps Metro Boomin Collab Album

Future is easily one of the biggest influences on today’s generation. Overall, he has classic mixtapes and albums that will stand the test of time. Furthermore, he continues to make music at a high level. His project I Never Liked You was a massive success back in 2022, and it continues to get a significant amount of streams. Moving forward, the artist is going to be dropping even more great albums. For instance, he is currently working on a new project with Metro Boomin.

This is an album that the fans have been waiting on for a long time at this point. Overall, it is one that is very much needed. Metro has three albums coming out this year, and Metro Pluto is going to be one of them. However, it seems like Future has a lot more on his mind than just creating some albums. While taking to Twitter last night, the artist revealed that he is starting his own management company. “New year – New ventures. Starting my new management company 2024,” he wrote.

Future Is Going Hard This Year

In a separate tweet, he followed this up by saying, “Very grateful for everyone who played some type of role in my career up to this point…more to come.” Needless to say, the artist is feeling inspired heading into this new year. He already has the Freebandz label, so perhaps this new venture will be an extension of that. Either way, Future has a lot of connections and he knows the ins and outs of the business. By extension, his management company already has some tools for success.

Hopefully, we get more details on these ventures very soon. As it pertains to Metro Pluto, we would love to get that album sooner rather than later. Let us know what you think of Future’s announcement, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. Future Flexes 6 Chains Sporting His Label Freebandz Logo

Rappers and their chains go way back and it’s often been quite competitive to see who can get the flashiest jewelry. Future himself is no stranger to extravagant chains but he might have one-upped himself recently. The Atlanta rapper took to his Instagram story to show off 6 new chains he had made sporting to label’s logo. Like with much of what he posts online, fans mostly responded with jokes.

“He too old to be buying chains,” one of the top comments on a repost of the video jokes. Most of the other jokes are about one of the labels signees Real Boston Richey. Boston was called out earlier this year by Roddy Ricch, who made claims that Future had cut him off from the label. “Know Boston Richey don’t got one,” and “He tryna Get NEW FBG chains cuz Boston Richey snitch a*s still rocking the old one” two other top comments read. Check out the full video of Future’s new chains below.

Future’s New Freebandz Chains

Metro Boomin has been teasing an upcoming collaborative album with Future all year. In fact, he’s posted so many teasers for fans so many times that it’s become a running joke. Metro himself even weighed in on the joke himself, seeming to take it in good faith. Metro has been pretty busy this year so fans likely wouldn’t be as frustrated by the album’s lack of a release date without the constant teases.

Part of the delay might have to do with Metro losing some of the beats he was working on for the project. He tweeted about experiencing a power outage that caused him to loose an entire sessions worth of work. When a fan asked him what he was working on he confirmed it was his collaborative album with Future. What do you think of Future’s new Freebandz chains? Which of the labels artists and affiliates do you think will ultimately end up getting them? Let us know in the comment section below.

Freebandz Tray Tray Reportedly Murdered In Chicago

According to reports, Future’s Freebandz artist Tray Tray passed away earlier this week. Though the circumstances surrounding his alleged death remain unclear, chatter online suggests that he was shot, and later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The up-and-coming rapper is said to have died in his hometown of Chicago. The tragic news comes as a major disappointment to fans, who have given their condolences across social media.

Tray Tray previously worked alongside notable artists like Young Thug, Tory Lanez, Doe Boy, and more. Countless social media users are weighing in on his passing, noting that he was likely yet another victim of gang violence. Many find it unfortunate that his life was taken before his music blew up. “Condolences to his Family,” one commenter writes. Most recently, Tray Tray dropped a music video for his track “What They On” in January.

Tray Tray Tragically Passes Away

In November of last year, he unveiled a couple of new music videos for “Opp Music” and “Free The Opps.” His crew ended up getting shot at while recording the “Opp Music” video. He later took to social media to share the clip. He discussed the turn of events in an interview with DJUTV that same month, calling it “just another day in the neighborhood.” Luckily, nobody was hit that day.

As for Future, the performer recently got his copyright lawsuit thrown out by a judge, after a man sued him for allegedly using elements from his song. The suit concerned Future’s 2018 Beast Mode 2 track “WHEN I THINK ABOUT IT.” The man, Daquan Robinson, claimed that he had ripped off his own song, “When U Think About It.” In the lawsuit, the man noted thematic similarities between the two songs, like money, guns, and jewelry. The judge, however, cited a few classic hip hop tracks, proving her point that those are common themes within the genre as a whole. Keep an eye on HNHH for more news.
