Another year of life has come and gone for Kanye West, who undeniably experienced no shortage of ups and downs over the past 365 days. He specifically distanced himself from plenty of close friends and loved ones with his controversial social media rants. In the time since, Ye has turned his efforts from begging Kim Kardashian to reconcile with him to living his best life with his new wife, Bianca Censori. After celebrating his birthday a few days back (June 8), the embattled artist threw a party on Saturday (June 10) where a select few famous friends stepped out in honour of West.
From the footage we’ve seen so far, there were two major standout moments during the father of four’s 46th. The first was his eldest daughter, North West, filming him in what appears to be a visual for DONDA‘s “Off The Grid.” Ye was wearing the same shoulder pads he’s been regularly rocking as of late. Of course, he’s the victim of merciless teasing by internet trolls as a result. Elsewhere, the man of the hour made waves by serving up his meal – sushi – Nyotaimori style.
Rather than placing the seafood on traditional platters, this method sees it delivered to attendees on the body of a naked woman. In various photos and videos, those who stepped out for West’s party are seen surrounding the candlelit table adorned with nude models holding up various platters.
Chloe Bailey was photographed at Ye’s birthday, though the roller she was using to maneuver around tells us she must have sustained an injury recently. Ty Dolla $ign was also out on the town to turn up with his “New Body” collaborator, as was Freddie Gibbs, who appears in a video alongside the Graduation artist.

DJ Akademiks was on hand at the Roots Picnic, delivering a live episode of Off The Record on the podcast stage. It must have been the wrong crowd for the controversial Hip-Hop personality, as only a handful of people came to the stage where he interviewed rapper Lil Boom.
The actual number of people who attended the live show is rumored to be eight of thousands at the festival, allowing Freddie Gibbs to continue his forever war with Ak.
Whenever these two are involved in beef, whether it’s with each other or with other people, it usually makes for quite the hilarious ordeal. Still, that’s due to Freddie Gibbs’ humor on one hand, and to DJ Akademiks’ personality on the other. Moreover, the media personality just declared that he won the beef between them, which has a long and now iconic history. Furthermore, he seemed to declare as such based on recent revelations that the Indiana rapper ghosted his ex during her pregnancy. In his proclamation, he posted a picture of the adult film actress and issued a simple message.
“Since you Niggas like writing letters… here go one…” DJ Akademiks wrote on Twitter. “DEAR HATER @FreddieGibbs I WON.” While many laughed at the tweet considering the context around “Spreadie Gibbs,” others didn’t take this as a victory. “lol damn, the levels of Petty, and tags Gibbs,” one user replied. Also, considering that this has nothing to do with their feud, many wonder whether Ak really “won” against Freddie Gibbs. If you didn’t give your opponent the L, can you really claim their downfall as your victory?
Maybe that’s reading too deeply into it; after all, it’s not like either party is winning big on social media. At least the 40-year-old MC has the advantage of excellent music and a humorous persona by his side. Sure, Ak has his media empire and a strong following, but it recently matched up against arguably the biggest and most passionate following in online rap circles. Recently, NBA YoungBoy went scorched earth on Akademiks after he claimed that YB and Lil Durksquashed their beef. Not only did he specifically take aim at Akademiks on Instagram Live, but he included Smurk and his partner India Royale in his initial Twitter tirade.
“This p***y a** n***a Akademiks,” the Baton Rouge rapper ranted viciously on his stream. “Actin’ like I give a f**k about numbers. B***h, I just dropped two weeks ago. This p***y n***a finna drop. B***h, I ain’t worried about no numbers, n***a. B***h a** n***a, big bank take lil’ bank. Your stupid drink face a**. That’s all you like to do, b***h, is get drunk and talk s**t. That one gon’ get you f***ed up.” Who do you think won the beef: DJ Akademiks or Freddie Gibbs? Let us know in the comments and return to HNHH for more on these opponents.
We got a taste of what Kaytranada and Aminé have in store for us on their upcoming album when they performed together during the former’s Coachella set last month. Since then, fans of the producer and lyricist have been eagerly waiting for more updates on Kaytraminé. Thankfully, they arrived via Instagram on Tuesday (May 9), revealing not only the upcoming release’s cover art but also the release date and tracklist, which includes an impressive roster of collaborators.
The groovy duo previously shared their “4EVA” single with Pharrell, setting the tone for what’s to hit DSPs on the May 19th release date. Aside from linking up with Skateboard P, we’ll also hear from Freddie Gibbs on “Let’stalkaboutit” and on “Sossaup,” Amaarae. The most noteworthy names on the tracklist include Big Sean (“Master P”) and finally, Snoop Dogg, who appears on the second last title, “Eye.”
Kaytranada and Aminé Share New Album Cover Art & Tracklist
Aminé and Kaytranada’s music will certainly keep the vibes high this spring and summer, as does the 11-track album’s cover art. It depicts the creative friends kicking back on bright pink beach chairs, the latter seemingly holding a joint in his fingers while the other toasts his glass of what appears to be champagne towards the camera. The back side of the project zooms out from the Kaytraminê artists, revealing more chairs and people spread out around them, along with the names of all their upcoming songs.
This marks one of Kaytranada’s first albums since 2019’s BUBBA, on which he made music magic alongside Kali Uchis, Masego, Estelle, and many more. As for Aminé, we last heard from him in late 2021 with his featureless TWOPOINTFIVE project. Which feature are you most looking forward to hearing on this month’s Kaytraminé project? Freddie Gibbs has gone through many different phases in his career. Originally signed to Interscope and then Jeezy’s label, he went independent and went on a historic run of classic mixtapes, albums, and collaborations. On top of that, he’s also delivered several collaborative projects with Madlib, The Alchemist, Curren$y, and Statik Selektah.
This is a list of the best Freddie Gibbs songs. Because he has consistently released so many quality bodies of work, it is challenging to narrow his music down to just seven songs. Some tracks that did not make the list but were worth mentioning include the soulful “Cataracts” and “High.” Dark bangers like “Pronto” and “Fuckin Up The Count” stand out in Freddie’s catalog, as do the vulnerable “Forever and a Day” and the descriptive “White Range.” “20 Karat Jesus” deserves mentioning as it is arguably his best intro song with its heavenly beat switch. The difficulty in making a list of the best Freddie Gibbs songs speaks to the quality, consistency, and longevity of his discography. Take a look at the list below.
7. “Harold’s” (2014)
This song is undoubtedly the best hip-hop song about fast food fried chicken. The song is inspired by the Chicago-based restaurant Harold’s Fried Chicken. The hook is a breakdown of Freddie’s usual order (six wings, mild sauce, and all the fries with all the fries you can give me). While the song does pay homage to the midwestern chicken restaurant, Freddie Gibbs keeps his gangster-isms throughout the verses. The beat from Madlib also has a nice groove to it.
6. “Extradite” (2015)
Bob James’s “Nautilus” is one of hip hop’s most sampled songs, and “Extradite” is arguably one of the best flips of the sample. The beat constantly evolves throughout the course of the song. In addition to the filthy beat, Freddie trades verses with Black Thought, who delivers one of his best guest features. Not many rappers can keep up with Black Thought on a track and Freddie’s performance on the song speaks volumes to his lyrical skills.
5. “Shame” (2012)
Freddie Gibbs & Madlib’s classic debut collaboration, 2014’s Piñata, perfectly combines Freddie Gibbs’s gangsta rap style with Madlib’s experimental yet vintage production style. The album consists of many tough gangsta rap songs but there are also plenty of smooth highlights, such as the beautifully soulful “Shame.” Madlib samples “Wish That You Were Mine” by The Manhattans for the gorgeous production. However, it’s the show-stealing chorus from BJ The Chicago that adds to the soul of the song, making for a chill moment of joy on an album full of street raps.
4. “Alexys” (2017)
Jazz band BADBADNOTGOOD and dance producer Kaytranada have close connections to hip hop and have made their fair share of rap collabs. They linked together for “Alexys,” from Freddie Gibbs’s You Only Live 2wice, resulting in one of his best songs. The beat is unlike anything Freddie has ever rapped over, with Kaytranada’s radiant musical textures and the precise percussion from BADBADNOTGOOD. The beat is unique on its own but it is perfect for Freddie Gibbs’s rapping as he paints a vivid picture of his introduction to street life, drawing references from various movies and TV shows. “Alexys” is a highlight from one of Freddie’s most underrated albums and is one of his best songs.
3. “Giannis” (2019)
“Giannis” is a definitive highlight from Freddie Gibbs and Madlib’s second collaboration, 2019’s Bandana. The beat features a smooth loop of “Aasman Ke Neeche” from the 1967 Hindi film Jewel Thief. The drum break over the sample allows Freddie to weave between slow and double-time flows, fueled by clever punchlines. One lyrical moment in the song that makes it so impressive is that Freddie breaks down what a 360 deal is in the music industry and why an artist can fail if they rely too much on their label. Anderson .Paak’s guest appearance is a showstopper as he handles the song’s well-sung chorus, along with a mean verse.
2. “Thuggin” (2011)
Rubba’s “Way Star” has been sampled numerous times in hip hop, and Freddie Gibbs and Madlib’s flip on the sample for “Thuggin” is easily the best flip. The hazy sample with its acoustic twang makes for a dream-like backdrop for Freddie to rap about the ruthless nature of the streets. With a cinematic touch, Freddie first-person portrayal as the anti-hero mirrors his reality. He depicts a life of crime, tying it together on the song’s catchy chorus, rapping, “I’m straight thuggin’, uh/ And it feels so good, uh, and it feels so right.”
1. “Bandana” (2019)
It is perplexing why the 2019 single from Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, titled “Bandana,” did not make the final tracklist of their album Bandana. The song served as a promotional single but because the song is so good, it can stand by itself. The greatness of the song speaks for itself. The instrumental consists of a hauntingly spacey instrumental over a knocking drum pattern. Freddie Gibbs spits his classic style of crime-filled drug raps with his signature deep voice. He floats over the beat and he brilliantly incorporates the last line of each verse to make the song’s refrain.
Jamaican dancehall deejay Assassin, who has worked with many rappers, is the perfect feature. He asserts his presence with just a repeated uttering of the word “bandana” in the refrain before making the track his own on his verse. “Bandana” stands alone for good reason as there is no song that sounds like it. The song makes a strong argument for its high rank among the best Freddie Gibbs songs.
Rather than playing into the drama currently being created by his ex-girlfriend (and future baby mama) on social media, Freddie Gibbs is keeping his cool. If you’ve been on Twitter today, you may have seen the star’s unfortunate new nickname, “Spreadie Gibbs” trending. The moniker was bestowed upon him after Destini, the woman he formerly dated who’s now pregnant with his child, told her followers that she allegedly has NSFW images of Gibbs showing off his behind in her camera roll.
It seems the Indiana native opted to cut her out of his life completely after she turned to social media to vent about their situation earlier this week. During their time together, the adult entertainer says she and Gibbs both expressed interest in starting a family and that she was even paying for his phone bill. When a wild night of lovemaking actually led to conception, however, the 40-year-old changed his mind, making it clear that he’s not ready to be a father at this time. After getting wind of Destini – also known as The Fit Mami – and her Twitter exposé, Freddie apparently blocked her, choosing to address the situation with a brief tweet on Friday (May 5).
Freddie Gibbs Responds to His Ex
“I ain’t got no phone,” the father of one wrote in an attempt to refute his former partner’s allegations. Of course, it wasn’t long before trolls began pouring into the replies with their thoughts. “Yeah, we know bro,” one of them quipped. “She stopped paying .” Others couldn’t resist but bring up “Spreadie Gibbs,” further taunting the embattled lyricist over the rumours.
One fan asked him, “Gangsta Gibbs they said you was spreadin’ eagle. Tell me it ain’t true,” though the “Crime Pays” hitmaker neither confirmed nor denied that gossip specifically. “Man the next album about to be extraordinary,” someone else speculated. Clearly, the world is looking forward to the follow-up to 2022’s $oul $old $eparately. Keep scrolling to see Twitter’s reaction to Freddie Gibbs’ short and simple response to his ex’s allegations. If you’re not already caught up on the tea, you can read TheFitMami’s lengthy rants about their relationship here and here.
It’s been an undeniably tough few days for Indiana-born rapper Freddie Gibbs, who was the victim of a Twitter exposé at the hands of his ex-girlfriend earlier this week. According to Destini, better known online as The Fit Mami, her former lover spent months discussing the idea of starting a family with her, but when she actually became pregnant, feelings suddenly changed. In a string of sweets, the adult actress claimed that, after Gibbs told her he wasn’t ready to become a father, she told him that she couldn’t be in a relationship with someone who wanted her to get an abortion.
While she did take a trip to the clinic to consider terminating, Destini found out at the appointment she was further along than anticipated and instead opted to continue on with her journey to motherhood. The 40-year-old’s ex says that he hasn’t checked in on her since their last conversation, despite her attempts to contact his team and others around him. Feeling helpless, she turned to social media to share her story, which has since gotten plenty of attention online. It seems her recount even led Gibbs to block her, as she made note of in an NSFW tweet shared on Friday (May 5).
The Fit Mami’s Twitter Antics Continue
“Blocking me on Twitter while I have a picture of you spreading your asshole in my phone is insane,” The Fit Mami wrote yesterday morning. “Imma spare them that one though.” True to her word, the salacious image has yet to see the light of day, though it has caused “Spreadie Gibbs” to begin trending on Twitter as ops of the “Gang Signs” hitmaker troll him online over the allegations.
Elsewhere on her profile, the expecting model has urged users to stop begging her to see the photo, while also condemning those criticizing her decision to move forward as a single mother. “This is a baby we literally PLANNED,” she reminded them. “My heart was in it. I’m pro-choice but I could not go through the procedure knowing I purposely brought this baby here. My child will be taken care of REGARDLESS.” Read more of what Destini had to say about Freddie Gibbs and her decision to keep their baby below. Dating a rapper may look glamorous from the outside, but according to Freddie Gibbs’ ex, adult film star Destini, her relationship with the Indiana native concluded on an undeniably sour note. The content creator told her story via a Twitter thread on Thursday (May 4), revealing that he allegedly ghosted her after finding out that she’s carrying his child. According to her, Gibbs first came into her life in 2020, at which time he slid into her Instagram DMs. “For the record, he always knew I did porn and was very supportive,” she added, cautioning haters not to run their mouths in the comments.
“After we made it official blogs started posting about us,” Destini – who’s best known as TheFitMami online – recalled. “We didn’t care, we were just having fun.” The couple’s romance found them travelling to Europe and having a blast together, though the adult entertainer says they also spent time discussing the idea of having a baby. Their return to the U.S. found them in a good place, and Gibbs began his stateside tour. Shortly after this, however, they were caught up in the middle of a physical altercation that left Destini traumatized. “I ended up having to get a prescription for Xanax because I was so paranoid,” she admitted. “I was having nightmares. It was horrible, I felt like I was going crazy at times.”
Destini Spills Tea on Twitter
The lyricist’s former lover noted that one of Gibbs’ baby mamas began regularly harassing and threatening her, even dragging the daughter Destini shares with another man into things. Amid all the drama, she and her partner took a trip to Hawaii for Freddie’s 40th, along with his mother. “He had this idea that we would name the baby Penny, like Penny Hardaway if he was a boy. BFFR,” she alleged in another tweet. Not long after that, a drunken night at a friend’s birthday party apparently resulted in plenty of romping, and the conception of a child. “When I told Freddie his tone immediately changed,” TheFitMami said of discovering she was pregnant.
“I’m so confused at this point, because have we not been talking about having a baby for the last eight months??” she asked later in the thread. As they travelled to Australia together, the couple continued to avoid the important discussion at hand. Several weeks later, Destini made it clear that she couldn’t be with him if he wanted her to have an abortion, while the 40-year-old previously shared that he felt he wasn’t ready for a child. Ultimately, they parted ways, but Freddie apparently hasn’t checked in on her, despite the fact that she’s carrying his child.
