Bill Belichick Made A Draft Day Trade For A Hilarious Reason

The 2023 NFL Draft set a record for the most number of trades in a single draft. However, among the flurry of first-round trades, the Patriots made a small but unusual swap. Initially drafting at #14, New England dropped back three places in a trade with the Steelers. The Steelers also sent a 2023 fourth-round pick to New England.

The Steelers took Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones with the 14th pick. The Patriots nabbed Oregon corner Christian Gonzalez with the 17th and Maryland kicker Chad Ryland in the fourth round. However, people thought that the Steelers got off lightly in terms of draft compensation to move up in the first. Turns out they did, simply because Bill Belichick hates the New York Jets.

Belichick Gave Steelers An Easy Trade To “Fuck The Jets”

The New York Jets went into the 2023 NFL Draft needing help protecting Aaron Rodgers. However, sitting at #15 with little draft capital, they could only watch as the top o-line prospects were drafted. However, as the clock on the Patriots’ #14 pick began, there were a handful of high-quality o-line prospects still on the board. The Pats could have taken an o-lineman here but Bill Belichick loves a cornerback. And then the Pats traded back three spots and the Steelers took an o-lineman. Turns out, Belichick literally did it to fuck over the Jets.

“They should have had to give up a [third-round pick] and not a four to move up there,” one NFL general manager said anonymously to The Washington Post. “Belichick did it just to fuck the Jets. He sold low because he knew the Steelers were going to take the kid the Jets wanted to take.” Belichick has a lot of history with the Jets, both within their organization and facing them as a division rival. Moreover, Belichick could have taken Jones himself, but to him, it was even funnier to watch the Jets lose out of their prospect of choice to someone else entirely. Kirk Cousins Wants To Stay In Minnesota

Kirk Cousins is a fascinating case study when it comes to NFL quarterbacks. A fourth-round pick by Washington in the 2012 draft, Cousins saw minimal action in his first three years in the NFL. He went 2-7 in nine starts between 2012 and 2014. He became Washington’s starter in 2015 and was average at best. His best season was either his 9-7 record in 2015 or his 8-7-1 record in 2016, with nearly 5000 passing yards.

Cousins joined the Vikings ahead of the 2018 season, signing the NFL’s first-ever fully-guaranteed contract. It was worth $84 million over three years. Minnesota have had mixed success with Cousins at the helm, but have financially invested in him. Cousins has made, over three contracts with the Vikings, over $155 million. He signed a one-year, $35 million deal to play with the team in 2023. However, he may be facing a do-or-die season if he wants to stay in the purple.

Cousins Wants To Stay In Minnesota

“I want to be in Minnesota. That’s kind of a no-brainer. Hopefully, we can earn the right to do that,” Cousins said on May 3. Contract discussions between Cousins and Minnesota broke down in recent weeks. Despite the 13-4 record the Vikings posted in 2022, Cousins had a career-low quarterback rating. Furthermore, the team was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. “The exception is that you have something penciled in for future years. Most of our locker room has no idea what is coming in three or four months, let alone three or four years or next year. I feel like I’m one of the guys, if you will. We’re all in this together,” Cousins also said.

However, it remains to be seen just how at risk Cousins is. The Vikings have two other quarterbacks on the roster – career backup Nick Mullens and 2023 fifth-round pick Jaren Hall. The team had done extensive work on the 2023 quarterback class, but were limited in options at #23 in the first round. While Will Levis was on the board at 23, the Vikings took USC wide receiver Jordan Addison instead. However, with a poor enough 2023 season, or some careful trading, the Vikings could be in the position to draft a stud QB prospect in next year’s draft.

Jets To Sign Veteran WR Randall Cobb

The New York Jets spent the offseason building a home for Aaron Rodgers. They added one of his go-to receivers in Allen Lazard. Then they signed his former backup, Tim Boyle. Eventually, they were able to land Rodgers himself for a package of draft picks. While Rodgers comes with some risks, he immediately launches the Jets into playoff contention.

Aaron Rodgers inherits a young, strong wide receiver room to work with. As mentioned, there’s former Packers teammate Allen Lazard. But you also have 2022 offensive rookie of the year Garrett Wilson, Denzel Mims, and veterans like Corey Davis. The Jets did not address skill positions before the fifth round of the draft. Overall, they took a fifth-round running back and a seventh-round tight end. However, it appears that they are not done signing talent just yet.

Rodgers and Cobb Reunited In New York

Randall Cobb has been around the NFL for a while. Drafted in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft, Cobb was one of Rodgers’ primary targets through the 2018 season. However, injuries began to wear on Cobb and he was cut by the team after the season. Despite this, he returned to Green Bay in 2021 after single-season stints with the Cowboys and Texans. Reportedly, re-signing Cobb was one of Rodgers’ conditions to stay with the team in 2021.

However, according to new reports, Cobb will soon be following Rodgers to New York. This comes as little surprise, as Cobb was named on Rodgers’ wish-list that he provided to the Jets during negotiations in March. Cobb was 7585 career receiving yards and 53 career touchdowns. His best season was in 2014, when he recorded 1287 yards and 12 touchdowns. Cobb holds the number five spot on the Packers all-time receiving list. As for other players on Rodgers’ list, only one remains theoretically available. That player is former Packers tight end, Mercedes Lewis. However, it seems unlikely that the Jets will add Lewis, given they have five tight ends, most of them veterans, on the roster heading into training camp. Jackson Mahomes Arrested For Sexual Battery

Jackson Mahomes is a controversial figure. The younger brother of star NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Jackson has found his fame online. Additionally, he has largely found fame through viral moments that make people angry. First, there was an incident where Mahomes was seen dancing on the sideline tribute to Sean Taylor. Then came Mahomes unsuccessfully trying to start beef with various people. That led to Mahomes being roasted by a Kansas City bar after leaving a bad review. His attitude and proclivity for starting shit have led to him developing a reputation as something of a joke online.

However, the most serious accusation against Mahomes came earlier this year. In February, the owner of the Aspen Restaurant and Lounge alleged Mahomes had forcibly kissed her. Additionally, video footage appeared to back up the woman’s claim, showing Mahomes grabbing by the neck and kissing her, to her obvious discomfort. Furthermore, he also allegedly pushed a waiter at the establishment. Now it appears that Mahomes is facing charges related to that event.

Mahomes Charged With Sexual Battery

The 22-year-old Mahomes was arrested and booked at Johnson County Detention Center around 8:45am EDT on April 3. Furthermore, he was reportedly charged with sexual battery relating to the February incident at the Aspen Restaurant and Lounge. According to the state of Missouri, this is defined as “A person commits the offense of sexual abuse in the first degree if he or she subjects another person to sexual contact when that person is incapacitated, incapable of consent, or lacks the capacity to consent, or by the use of forcible compulsion.”

Meanwhile, Mahomes’ attorney denied the allegations when they first arose in March. “We have provided law enforcement with the tools and evidence they need to evaluate the claims against Jackson,” Brandon Davies said in the statement. “Every interaction between people needs to be placed in the proper context. Releasing a short clip of any video does not provide proper context. We have faith in the process and look forward to a swift resolution of the matter.” However, it appears that law enforcement believes there is enough cause to detain Mahomes. Mahomes is reportedly being held on a $100,000 bail.

Henry Ruggs Pleads Guilty, Potential Sentence Revealed

If you remember, back in November of 2021, former Las Vegas Raiders star Henry Ruggs II found himself in a horrific situation. Although it was his fault that the situation happened, there is no doubt that fans were shocked. Ruggs ended up killing a woman and her dog after speeding in his Corvette. At the time of the crash, Ruggs was going 156 MPH which is insane speed. Additionally, he had twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system. Needless to say, the Raiders were quick to cut him from the roster.

Since that time, Henry Ruggs has been in and out of court in relation to the case. He had been facing four felony charges, as well as one misdemeanor, according to TMZ. Now, however, Ruggs has entered a plea deal in which many of his charges have been dropped. Instead, he has simply pleaded guilty to “one felony count of DUI resulting in death and one misdemeanor count of vehicular manslaughter.”

Henry Ruggs Will Be Going To Prison

Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III makes an initial appearance in Las Vegas Justice Court on November 3, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ruggs is facing charges relating to a fiery vehicle crash early Tuesday in Las Vegas that left a woman dead and Ruggs and his female passenger injured. The photo is taken through a glass window. With this plea deal, Henry Ruggs could get anywhere from three to 10 years in prison. However, the judge could end up deciding to overrule the plea deal. If this were to happen, Ruggs could decide to plead not guilty. Subsequently, there would be a trial, however, that seems fairly unlikely at this point. No matter what, this is a massive update in a case that has gone on for a year and a half.

Overall, this pretty well spells the end of Ruggs and his NFL career. However, for the family of the victim, that is the least of their concerns. Antonio Brown Fires Arena League Coach, Threatens Players

If you have been following the life and times of Antonio Brown, you know that he is currently the owner of a National Arena League team. His father played for the Albany Empire back in the day, and to make him proud, he purchased the team. According to TMZ, he owns about 95 percent of the franchise. However, it turns out that this has been a disaster of sorts. Overall, we know this due to the testimony of former head coach Damon Ware. Moreover, former quarterback Sam Castronova is also speaking out.

As the story goes, things with Antonio Brown have been horrible. Previously, we reported on how he got into a heated altercation at an Albany Empire game. However, this has been the least of the team’s worries. As Ware explains, the team is supposed to get paid a week after each game. Although, following two weeks of action, not a single player was paid. Subsequently, there were calls from within to protest future games. Eventually, Brown promised everyone payment, and they played a third match.

Antonio Brown Is A Tyrant

The aforementioned third game went down on Sunday, and players still had yet to be paid. Consequently, a bunch of players decided to team up and make their case to team officials. Unfortunately, things got worse as according to Castronova and Ware, players and coaches were locked out of their hotel rooms. Their keycards no longer worked, and it was nearly impossible for them to fetch their belongings. Simply put, Antonio Brown put them on the street.

Now, the team is missing some of its most essential players. Moreover, the rest of the players have yet to be paid sufficiently. Needless to say, this entire situation is a mess, and Antonio Brown is at the center of it. As it stands, AB has yet to comment on the situation. Let us know what you think of all this, in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for updates from around the sports world.

Deion Sanders Blasts NFL For Lack Of HBCU Rep In Draft

Deion Sanders helped put an HBCU school on the map. As head coach of the Jackson State football program, Sanders’ squad lost just six games over three seasons. That included two perfect seasons in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Additionally, Jackson went 12-1 in the 2022 season, only losing in the postseason Celebration Bowl.

Sanders left Jackson State at the end of the 2022 season to take the vacant job at Colorado. He brought many of his star players with him and has transformed the program there. He has put Colorado back on the map, even if the program is seeing massive player turnover. The school’s spring game sold out for the first time ever. One the flip side, 20 players entered the portal right after the game. It’s a wild time in Colorado. However, Sanders was not happy with the treatment HBCUs got at the 2023 NFL Draft. He took to Twitter to force his frustrations.

Sanders Calls Out 31 NFL Teams

HBCUs are often overlooked on draft day. Just 12 players from such schools were picked between 2016 and 2021. Four went in the 2022 draft. Furthermore, that number dropped to just one over the course of the 2023 draft. The lone HBCU representative in 2023 was Jackson State cornerback and kick returner, Isaiah Bolden. Bolden was selected 245th overall by the New England Patriots, just 14 picks before the end of the draft. Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that he was a Coach Prime alum.

Posting to Twitter, Sanders made his thoughts on the lack of HBCU rep very clear. “So proud is you @isaiahbolden23 You deserved to be drafted much higher but I’m truly proud of u. I know how much u want this. I’m ashamed of the 31 other @nfl teams that couldn’t find draft value in ALL of the talented HBCU players & we had 3 more draft worthy players at JSU.” However, Sanders’ comments met a lot of backlash from white people who somehow interpreted Sanders’ comments as a call for affirmative action. HBCUs have long had to deal with being viewed as the “second-tier” in both educational standards and sporting prowess. However, it’s an unfair perception and one that Sanders is putting on blast.

NFL Reporter Accidentally Says Jalen Carter Has A Big Dick

The NFL draft is always a weird time of year. Without fail, there is always something that goes viral. The 2023 NFL Draft was no different, tough tamer when compared to previous years. There was the video of a player’s dad slapping his son’s girlfriend on the ass. Meanwhile, Twitter had a lot of fun watching Will Levis not get drafted in the first round. Away from the draft, but still in Kansas City, Travis Kelce was luging beers off one of his Super Bowl trophies.

However, it’s not just the draftees who go viral. Sometimes it’s journalists who are the ones grabbing the internet’s attention. That’s exactly what happened this year. In particular, one overlooked moment from this year’s draft came before the picks even started to be announced, courtesy of the NFL Network’s Briget Condon.

Condon Accidentally Says Carter Has A Big Dick

The moment happened during The NFL Network’s pre-draft coverage on Thursday morning. Condon, who is a veteran reporter and has worked for The NFL Network since 2021, was covering the Seattle Seahawks per her assigned beat. At the moment of the unfortunate slip of the tongue, Condon was discussing Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter as a potential option for the Seahawks at #5. However, she, unfortunately, concluded her spiel by saying “big dick, big guy” about the 6″3, 314lbs player. Carter’s draft stock appeared to tank somewhat after he was linked to the death of a teammate in January.

Thankfully for Condon, the Seahawks did not choose to draft Carter at #5. Instead, the Seahawks drafted Illinois cornerback Devon Witherspoon. However, Carter was still a top-ten pick, going four picks later at #9 to the Philadelphia Eagles. Carter was one of three Georgia defensive players the Eagles took in the draft, adding to the two Bulldogs defenders they took in the 2022 draft. Of course, Condon’s error is one that hundreds of journalists have made over the years. There’s nothing especially scandalous about the comment, it’s just funny that it happened live on TV. Catch all the best viral moments here at HotNewHipHop.
