Deion Sanders is set to have a very interesting season in Colorado. Overall, he is one of the best coaches in the NCAA. However, this is going to be his very first year since leaving Jackson State. Willie McGinest Hit With Lawsuit Over Gym Fight

Willie McGinest is a New England Patriots legend. Drafted fourth overall in 1994, McGinest won three Super Bowls and made two Pro Bowls while in New England. A member of the Patriots Hall of Fame, McGinest holds two NFL records. McGinest’s records are for most sacks in a postseason and most sacks in a postseason game.

However, McGinest has also had his fair share of legal troubles. As a freshman at USC in 1990, McGinest and two other men faced trial over charges of battery and false imprisonment. A 23-year-old student accused the men of drugging and molesting her. However, all three men were acquitted. In 2016, one DeAndre Parks sued McGinest after accusing the former Patriot of assault and threatening behavior. Finally, in 2022, McGinest was arrested and charged with felony assault. This occurred after he was attacking a man at the Delilah nightclub in LA.

First reported by TMZ, McGinest is being sued once again for yet another assault. Per the lawsuit, a man is accusing the retired player and three other men of assaulting him at a gym in 2021. Andrew Cortez claims he was working out a 24 Hour Fitness in Long Beach when someone took one of his weight plates. Cortez said he wasn’t finished using them. That’s when McGinest reportedly inserted himself into the situation and hit Cortez in the face with a closed fist.

The suit also alleges that the altercation had been broken up by gym staff. Furthermore, Cortez reportedly alleges that he is still suffering emotional distress as a result of the attack. Additionally, Cortez is still dealing with the consequences of the physical injuries he suffered. The plaintiff is seeking monetary damages of an unspecified amount. However, the path forward also remains unclear. McGinest is still facing the 2016 and 2022 lawsuits. Meanwhile, he is yet to comment on his latest legal issue. This is a developing story and we’ll have any updates here at HotNewHipHop.

Tyreek Hill Investigated Over Alleged Assault In Miami

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is reportedly under investigation for alleged assault and battery. First reported by Local 10 News, the Miami Police Department opened an investigation into Hill on Sunday evening. According to initial reports, Hill struck an employee of the Haulover Marina after a verbal altercation.

On June 18, which marked Father’s Day in the United States and around the world, Hill shared a video of him and agent Drew Rosenhaus fishing off the Florida coast. Rosenhaus later shared a similar video, showing a shark swimming past the boat he and Hill were fishing from. The alleged altercation reportedly took place when the pair returned to the marina on Sunday evening.

On June 21, the Miami Dolphins released a statement concerning the allegations. “We are aware of the situation and have been in contact with Tyreek, his representatives and the NFL,” a spokesperson for the Dolphins said. “We will reserve further comment at this time.” At the time of writing, both Hill and Rosenhaus are yet to release a statement about the allegations and subsequent investigation. Hill is entering his second season with the Dolphins. He amassed a career-high 1710 yards during the 2022 season.

However, it’s not the first time Hill has been linked with similar allegations. In 2014, Hill pled guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation after allegations were brought forward by his then-girlfriend. The plea led to Hill’s dismissal from the Oklahoma State football team. Furthermore, Hill was investigated for alleged child battery in 2019 after reports of his three-year-old son sustaining a broken arm surfaced. Hill was never formally charged or reprimanded as a result of this investigation. The latest allegations against Hill are a developing story and we’ll have any updates here at HotNewHipHop.

Plenty of voices in the football world spoke out in the wake of Lewis’ passing. Among them was his younger brother, Rahsaan Lewis, who announced his death on Thursday. “Really can’t believe I’m evening typings this but RIP big brother,” Rahsaan wrote on Instagram. “A true angel. I pray you’re at peace now because I know how much you [were] really hurting. I don’t and I won’t ever have the words man, ’cause this pain right here… I love you, I love you, I love you.”

Ray Lewis III played cornerback during his college football career, initially at his father’s alma mater, Miami, for two seasons. From there, he transferred to Coastal Carolina before finishing his career at Virginia Union. Mark James, who coached him at Virginia Union, told the Associated Press his former player “was a great kid” and that he “played hard and it was a pleasure knowing him.” In 2021, Lewis played for the Wyoming Mustangs of Champions Indoor Football.

Deion Sanders Could Need Foot Amputation

Deion Sanders is preparing to begin his first season as head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes. Sanders headed to Boulder after three seasons leading Jackson State. The Sanders era has been one of great transition, with over 70 players leaving the program since Coach Prime’s arrival in December. Furthermore, 34 players have joined the team, primarily coming from the transfer portal. This recruiting method has earned Sanders some criticism. However, he has also turned Colorado into one of the most-hyped programs in college football. Long-time fans and boosters are reportedly struggling to get season and box tickets amid a rush of new support for the team.

Colorado’s first season under Sanders begins with a trip to TCU, the team that finished runners-up in the National Championship last season. Colorado’s 2023 schedule includes rivalry games against Nebraska, Colorado State, and Utah. Furthermore, there are also rumors flying that Colorado is contemplating a move from the Pac-12 to the Big 12. But now Sanders is having to deal with a much more personal, and life-threatening, decision.

Deion Sanders Shares Medical Update

According to a video that Sanders posted to YouTube, the Colorado coach might need to undergo drastic medical procedures in the near future. Meeting with his medical team, Sanders was informed that he was experiencing significant blood-flow issues in his left foot. Sanders previously had two toes amputated from the foot. Furthermore, Sanders missed three games in 2021 due to complications from a previous foot surgery. However, the current issues appear to be much more severe.

“Those arteries have shut down,” surgeon Max Wohlauer informed Sanders, referencing the sharp drop in blood pressure. “You just have to understand what the risks are,” fellow surgeon Donald Jacobs added. “Things can cascade. [you] could lose the foot.” Sanders was practical as ever in response to the devastating news. “I want to do it this summer, because when we get rolling, I’m not going to have time to do it,” Sanders told the doctors. “This is the best down time I have.” Follow all the latest sports news here at HotNewHipHop.

Ray Lewis’ Son Passes Away At 28

Ray Lewis III, the son of NFL Hall of Famer Ray Lewis, has been reported to have died at the age of 28. The details of his death were not made immediately available. Lewis is one of the greatest defensive players to ever grace the NFL. He was a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Baltimore Ravens and appeared in 13 Pro Bowls. He holds several NFL records related to tackling and was a first-ballot Hall of Famer in 2018.

Three of his four sons followed him into the world of football. Rahsaan has played at UFC, FAU, Kentucky, and recently transferred to Georgia Southern. Meanwhile, Rayshard played at Utah State, Maryland, and Kentucky. While Rahsaan is still in college, Rayshard appears to have left football for the time being. However, Lewis III was Lewis’ eldest son, and the first to undergo the football journey.

Ray Lewis III Dies At 28

Ray Lewis III followed his father into the world of football. Playing running back, he was a standout for Lake Mary Prep, racking up 1898 yards and 20 touchdowns in his senior year. He committed to his father’s alma mater, the University of Miami. He transitioned to cornerback before transferring from Miami to Coastal Carolina. However, he was removed from the team in 2016 after being indicted on a charge of third-degree criminal sexual assault. However, the charges were later dropped.

Lewis III finished his collegiate career at Virginia Union, a Division II HBCU. While Lewis III didn’t have the chance to follow his father to the NFL, he sought to keep his football dreams alive. In 2021, he played for the Wyoming Mustangs of Champions Indoor Football. Many have expressed their sadness at his passing. Diego Ryland, associate head coach at Virginia Union, called him a “Great young man and a better teammate.” Rashaan shared his thoughts on his brother’s passing on Instgram. “Really can’t believe I’m evening typings this but RIP big brother 🕊 💫. A true angel. I pray you’re at peace now because I know how much you [were] really hurting. I don’t and I won’t ever have the words man, ’cause this pain right here…I love you, I love you, I love you 💫 ❤.”

HBO Struggling To Find Team Willing To Do “Hard Knocks”

Hard Knocks has been an essential part of the NFL season since 2001. The no-holds-barred HBO series follows an NFL team during their training camp. showcasing the highs, lows, and realities of preparing for an NFL season. In 2021, the show was reformatted to feature two seasons – one in training camp and one during the season.

However, full film production is a major ask for teams. Not only can it be disruptive, but it can also be distracting and add unnecessary pressure to a team. With teams being less willing to participate, the NFL implemented a rule that each year, four teams could be mandated to appear on the show. That may need to be the case due to some new revelations.

Teams Unwilling To Appear On “Hard Knocks”

According to multiple reports, HBO initially reached out to the Detroit Lions about appearing on Hard Knocks. The Lions were the team that the training camp season focused on last year. If the Lions accepted, they would become the first team to appear on the show in back-to-back seasons. The reason for this desperation is that teams are apparently especially unwilling to appear on the show this year. Last year, Hard Knocks followed the Arizona Cardinals during the season. However, few teams are willing to work with the broadcasting giant this year.

Furthermore, while the NFL can mandate the Jets, Saints, Commanders, and Bears to appear on the show, even these teams are pushing back about working with HBO. It’s likely that the Jets, with new quarterback Aaron Rodgers, would be the preference of HBO. However, the reluctance for teams to participate is likely worrying for HBO. Hard Knocks 2023 would be the first under HBO’s new Max banner. Furthermore, there is a bigger reliance on unscripted content as the WGA strike continues. However, it remains to be seen if teams openly defy the NFL on this issue, and what the NFL will do if this happens. This is a developing story and any updates will be here on HotNewHipHop.

Tom Brady Links Up With MrBeast, Shows His Arm Is Still Great

Tom Brady can now say that he’s been in a MrBeast video, who you can argue is the Tom Brady of YouTube. Of course, MrBeast is the massively popular YouTube that the internet either loves or hates. He’s best known for videos flexing his incredible wealth, doing philanthropy, or recreating things like Squid Game. Meanwhile, Tom Brady is just some guy who threw a football pretty well in the NFL.

Jokes aside, Tom Brady is currently living life post-NFL after officially retiring earlier this year. He’s bought some sports teams, confirmed that he’s definitely staying retired despite those sports teams sucking, and also prepared to become a broadcaster on Fox in 2024. However, in case he ever needs to find a job again, “Was in MrBeast video” is a pretty good thing to put on his resume.

Tom Brady Appears In MrBeast Luxury Yacht Video

The link-up occurred in MrBeast’s June 10 video “$1 v $1,000,000,000 yacht”. The YouTuber works his way through various levels of yacht, scaled by pricing. That’s when TB12 himself appears, running into MrBeast around the $300 million price point. MrBeast challenges Brady to try and hit his drone cam with a football, which Brady agrees to. However, humble ol’ Tom plays up the whole “oh I don’t think I can” routine. In fact, he goes as far as to say that if he gets it first try, he’ll un-retire.

MrBeast sets up the drone about 20 or 30 yards away from the yacht. Brady had a career completion percentage of 64.3% on passes over 20 yards. And of course, Brady threads a beautiful pass right into the body of the drone, which goes tumbling towards the sea below. And if that wasn’t enough, Brady then accepts another challenge to throw a deep ball pass to Beast’s associate, Carl. Carl is about 70 yards out on a jetski and yet Brady once again delivers a perfect downfield pass. The challenge is spoiled a little by Carl completely fumbling the catch but that’s completely on him as Brady’s pass is perfect. What do you think Brady’s trick throws? Let us know in the comments. Meek Mill Comments On Travis Rudolph Verdict

On June 7, former Florida State and New York Giants wide receiver Travis Rudolph was found not guilty on one count of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder. The trial was in relation to a 2021 incident in which Rudolph opened fire on a group of men outside his Florida home. During the trial, the defense showed text messages from Rudolph’s ex encouraging her brother and three other men to “shoot up” Rudolph’s house over alleged infidelity.

Rudolph’s defense had initially hinged on Florida’s Stand Your Ground law. However, after an appeal to have the charges tossed based on that precedent was rejected, the case went to trial. However, his team was successfully able to argue self-defense and, as mentioned, a jury found Rudolph not guilty after just two hours of deliberation.

Meek Mill Tweets Support Of Rudolph

Philly rapper Meek Mill is no stranger to legal issues. Most recently, Mill pled guilty to a misdemeanor firearms charge in 2019. Furthermore, Mill took to Twitter to publicly voice his support for Rudolph. Quote-tweeting the account Say Cheese‘s reporting of the not guilty verdict, Mill added his own words of support. “Blessings….. a messy asss hoe can destroy your life in 60 seconds! Now go get that 20+ for that doc series!.” True crime is a popular genre right now, with new podcasts and documentaries produced all the time.

Despite Mill’s urging to hit up the networks, it’s unclear what Rudolph will do now. Arguably, the murder case thrust him into the national spotlight after his football career stalled out. After a solid career at Florida State, Rudolph went undrafted in 2017. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Giants and started his career on their practice squad. However, we would appear in seven games for the team due to a wave of injuries. After being released by the Giants, he signed with the Dolphins but tore his ACL on the first day of offseason camp. However, he did attempt a comeback in the CFL, but never took the field. Follow all the latest crime and sports news here at HotNewHipHop.

Dalvin Cook Set To Be Released By Minnesota Vikings

Dalvin Cook has been a cornerstone of the Minnesota Vikings’ offense since 2017. Drafted in the second round out of Florida State, Cook saw minimal action in his rookie year due to an ACL tear. However, in 2018, he led the team in rushing yards despite only playing in 11 games. What followed was one of the most productive careers by an active running back. Between 2019 and 2022, Cook had five consecutive 1100-yard seasons on the ground. Furthermore, he is the Vikings’ third all-time leading rusher, only trailing Adrian Peterson and Robert Smith.

However, Cook’s future has been uncertain as of late. While he put up 1173 yards and 8 touchdowns in 2022, it was his worst year in regard to advanced metrics. Furthermore, his $14.1 million cap hit would be detrimental to the Vikings’ attempt to build a younger squad capable of contending in the NFC. While his status has remained in limbo for some time, it appears that Vikings fans now have an answer.

Vikings Will Release Cook

According to The NFL Network‘s Tom Pelissero, the Vikings will be releasing Cook. It marks the end of an era, and a distinctive shift for the team. Releasing Cook frees up $9 million in cap space and moves Alexander Mattison to the top of the running back depth chart. Mattison is a 2019 third-round pick who had 283 rushing yards last season. He leads a core that also includes C.J. Ham, 2023 draftee DeWayne McBride, and Ty Chandler.

It’s likely that the Vikings will employ a rush-by-committee approach to the ground game while heavily shifting the offense to focus on their receivers. That core is anchored by Justin Jefferson, who led the league in receiving yards last year, and first-round draft pick Jordan Addison. Furthermore, the changing of the guard that began with Dalvin Cook could eventually spread to veteran QB Kirk Cousins, who is in a do-or-die contract year. Cook will likely find another home in the NFL before the season begins. However, the four-time Pro Bowler will no longer suit up in the purple of the frozen north.
