Taylor Swift used her TIME Person of the Year interview to reveal the inside story of her relationship with Travis Kelce. “This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell. We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew. Which, I’m grateful for because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? The notes about her relationship with Kelce came amidst one of the most unique interviews for TIME‘s long-running Person of the Year feature. The honor is often reserved for politicians and other powerful figures. In 2022, the award was given to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the “Spirit of Ukraine”. The year before that, Elon Musk was the honoree. However, TIME editor-in-chief Sam Jacobs noted that Swift “transcends borders [and is] a source of light. Swift topped a ten-item shortlist for the award. Aaron Rodgers Blasts Jets For “Chicken Sh*t” Locker Room Leaks

Aaron Rodgers has publicly criticized the New York Jets for a number of locker room leaks that appeared to villainize benched quarterback Zach Wilson. “That’s a problem with the organization. We need to get to the bottom of whatever this is coming from and put a stop to it privately, because there’s no place in a winning culture where — and this isn’t the only time. There’s been a bunch of other leaks,” Rodgers told The Pat McAfee Show.

The leaks in question stemmed from an article published by The Athletic. Anonymous locker room sources had told the outlet that Wilson appeared “reluctant” to resume QB1 duties with the Jets all but eliminated from playoff contention. These sources speculated that, much like a college player sitting out a bowl game, Wilson is wary of getting injured before he likely joins a new team next season. Rodgers questioned why someone within the Jets organization would want to “assassinate someone’s character like that report does for Zach”. Furthermore, Rodgers called the rumors “chicken sh-t at its core”.

Jets Eye Another QB Change With Elimination Looming

The Athletic report stemmed from the fact that the Jets cut Tim Boyle, their starter of the past two games, this week. Signing Brett Rypien from the Seahawks practice squad, the team could be in line to start their fourth quarterback of the season this weekend. Wilson, benched two weeks ago, is back in consideration for another start. However, the team also has veteran options with Rypien and the previous week’s QB2, Trevor Siemian.

At 4-8, the Jets have now lost their last five games, completely squandering their surprising 4-3 start to the season. While they cannot be completely eliminated from playoff contention this week, falling to 4-9 would all but end their season. Furthermore, they must overcome a surging Houston Texans team that has won four of their last five games. After starting 2-3, the Texans are now jostling for position in the playoff race. Jets head coach Robert Salah is expected to announce the team’s starting QB later today.

Florida State “Disgusted” By CFP Snub Despite Undefeated Season

Florida State head coach Mike Norvell said he was “disgusted” after the undefeated Seminoles finished fifth in the College Football Playoff rankings. “I am disgusted and infuriated with the committee’s decision today to have what was earned on the field taken away because a small group of people decided they knew better than the results of the games,” Norvell said in a statement. “What is the point of playing games? Do you tell players it is OK to quit if someone goes down? Do you not play a senior on Senior Day for fear of injury? Where is the motivation to schedule challenging nonconference games?” Norvell said. It’s the first time in the history of the CFP that an undefeated conference champion didn’t make the playoffs.

Furthermore, the committee’s decision meant that the 13-0 Seminoles were left out of the four-team playoff in favor of two one-loss teams. Texas (No. 3) and Alabama (No. 4) both made the cut as one-loss conference champions. It is was ta spate of late-season injuries at quarterback that cost Florida State their place in the last four-team playoff. Instead, the Seminoles will play Georgia in the Orange Bowl on Christmas Eve. Georgia lost the SEC Championship to Alabama.

Michigan Headlines CFP Bracket

Just four teams remain in contention for the college football National Championship. They are headlined by Michigan, the Big 10’s undefeated powerhouse. Sign-stealing allegations aside, Michigan has been a monster this season and boasts the best defense in the nation. They face Alabama, who leapt into the top-four after knocking off Georgia. The Crimson Tide looked dead in the water after their Week Two loss to Texas. However, they bounced back to rattle off eleven consecutive wins and now appear in their eighth CFP bracket.

Meanwhile, Washington completed an undefeated season to become the first Pac-12 team since 2016 to reach the CFP bracket. Ironically, they achieved it in the final season of the Pac-12 as we know it. While Washington’s defense has been shaky at times, they are led by Heisman contender Michael Penix Jr at quarterback. They face Texas, who routed Oklahoma State in the Longhorns‘ final Big 12 game. Texas enter as a one-loss champion, having fallen to Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry earlier in the season. Mutilated Cow Found Before Big 12 Title Game

However, it appears that it’s not been all fun and games on Championship Weekend. Police are investigating a mutilated longhorn cow that was found outside an Oklahoma State fraternity. Police were alerted to the house of FarmHouse Fraternity around 6:30am Friday. “F-CK FH” had been carved into the animal’s side and its stomach had been cut open, per the campus newspaper. “It’s a very cruel crime to be committed, especially right before the Big 12 Championship. Nothing is worth doing that kind of crap,” a campus police officer told The Oklahoman. “[We are] appalled at the disturbing display of animal cruelty at an off-campus location near a fraternity house. Appropriate action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation,” the university said in a statement.

Texas, whose athletic nickname is the Longhorns, would go on to handily beat Oklahoma State 49-21 in the Big 12 title game on Saturday. Furthermore, campus police told the student paper, The O’Colly, that the perpetrators could face an animal cruelty charge. It’s a charge that carries a felony. This remains a developing story.

David Njoku Burned 17% Of His Body In September Accident

David Njoku recently gave more details about the September bonfire accident that left him with burns on “17% of his body”. Njoku said he likes to have bonfires in his backyard to relax on a Friday night. However, after running out of his usual lighter fluid, he tried a new spray to keep the fire going. However, the spray lingered in the air, leading to a back blast that caught Njoku by surprise. Despite the injuries, Njoku played through “intense pain” just two days later in a “personal” game against the Ravens.

Njoku, in his seventh season with the Browns, has still appeared in 11 games this season despite the injury. With 492 yards and six games left to play, the tight end will likely set a new personal best in yardage. To this point, his single-season high is 639 yards, set all the way back in 2018. Furthermore, he could also eclipse his touchdown high. Njoku has recorded four touchdowns in four separate seasons.

David Njoku Says Accident Should Have Blinded Him

This is just the most recent time that Njoku has opened up about the accident. Back in October, the tight end revealed that he should have been blinded. “I give all the glory to God. When it happened my eyes were open, so I saw everything and I really should’ve been blinded. Luckily I’m not, so I give all glory to God. All the pain and suffering from training in the offseason is far worse than any of this.” Prior to those comments, Njoku showed off the extent of the damage caused by the accident. In pictures posted online, Njoku showed that his face was nearly entirely covered with painful burns. Njoku covered his face with a custom medical mask when entering the Browns facility in the first game after the injury, meaning that this was the first time that the extent of his injuries had been seen.

However, Njoku is also putting the unfortunate incident to good use. He has launched a clothing company called Withstand and will be donating a portion of the profits to the American Burn Association. Furthermore, Njoku has fully leaned into the persona the burns have given him. He tweeted “the flesh is weak” when arriving at the Browns facility. Aaron Rodgers Says “Anything’s Possible” With Jets Return

Aaron Rodgers argued that he could return earlier than Christmas Eve if his recovery continues to go well. “Anything is possible. It feels great to be on the practice field, but I’m not anywhere near ready to play,” Rodgers told reporters on Thursday. The veteran QB was cleared for limited practice on Wednesday, giving the Jets 21 days to activate him from injured reserve. Rodgers will wait until next week to try practicing on back-to-back days. For the time being, Tim Boyle will remain the Jets starter. “Yeah, we’re giving Timmy another shot to roll next week. Obviously, there are things that he could’ve done better. However, Rodgers reiterated that his return depends on whether the Jets can still make the playoffs. “I don’t think that would make a ton of sense. A comeback this year before the four-month mark would mean I’m not 100 percent healthy, so it’d be a risk for myself. For the team to sign off on if we’re out of it, I’d be surprised if they would OK that to come back,” Rodgers noted. Per ESPN, the 4-7 Jets have a less than 1% chance to make the playoffs. While a loss to Atlanta on Sunday wouldn’t eliminate, it would put the team one loss away from elimination.

Von Miller Surrenders To Police, Bond Set At $5000

Von Miller surrendered to police on Thursday afternoon after a warrant for his arrest was issued on Wednesday. Per TMZ, Miller was booked around 4pm Central on Thursday and released on bond soon after. According to ESPN, Miller’s bond was set at $5000. He had been wanted by police in Texas since late morning Wednesday after they responded to a “major disturbance call” concerning Miller and his pregnant partner. According to an affidavit, an argument about Miller’s partner’s travel plans had allegedly turned violent. Miller allegedly shoved her, pulled her hair, and placed his hands around her neck on two separate occasions.

Miller is currently on a bye week and returned to his home state of Texas during the time off from the Bills. Both the Bills and the NFL have since released statements, acknowledging the arrest and stating that they were investigating the allegations. Miller was previously investigated on similar accusations in Colorado in 2021. However, that inquiry did not lead to any sort of formal police intervention.

Von Miller Disrupts Bills’ Bye Week

A court date has not reportedly been set for Miller at this time. As a result, his current status with the Bills is unknown. Buffalo is due to face the Chiefs on December 10. Whether Miller will be joining the team for that road game remains to be seen. He played 21 snaps in the Bills’ loss to the Eagles on Sunday. Miller, who signed a six-year deal with the Buffalo in 2022, continues to play limited snap counts as he rehabs from an ACL tear.
