Fivio Foreign And Quavo Make It Rain Like It’s ‘Magic City’ On Their Swaggering Single

Fivio Foreign has established himself as one of the most popular names in hip-hop’s drill scene thanks to his ability to stay relevant since his breakout in 2019. Fivio arrived on the scene thanks to his summer 2019 hit “Big Drip” which rose to prominence with New York’s drill scene thanks to other records like Pop Smoke’s “Welcome To The Party” and “Dior.” Over the years, Fivio has released notable songs like “Headshot” with Lil Tjay and Polo G and “Zoo York” with Lil Tjay and Pop Smoke. One thing Fivio hasn’t done is release an album, but all of that is going to change next month with B.I.B.L.E.

Ahead of the project’s release, which was delayed from its original March 25 release date, Fivio teams up with Quavo for their new single “Magic City.” The track, which is named after the famed strip club in Atlanta, seems the rappers in a very confident state as they make it rain relentlessly at the club. It arrives as another strong offering from the album after Fivio connected with Kanye West and Alicia Keys for “City Of Gods” last month.

As for the delay behind B.I.B.L.E., Fivio explained his reason behind pushing the album back. “It ain’t really a reason or anything, I just wanted to make that sh*t perfect,” he said in a video posted to Instagram. I want it to be the perfect album. That sh*t is going to be viral.” He confirmed that the album would instead arrive on April 8.

Fivio took it to Twitter to share a preview of his new video, and he’s expecting it to do well. “5 times our last release,” he tweeted with the fire emoji.

When you think of Magic City, I’m pretty sure the Atlanta strip club comes to mind. The duo didn’t actually take their talents to the A, but they are definitely living up to the song title’s name. They’re making it rain in a Brooklyn strip club Magic City-esque.

Since the year started, Fivio probably has gotten no sleep. Every time you look up, he’s working. He just left Funk Master Flex on Hot 97. Prior to that, he had been an advocate for this new New York sound to the city mayor. He helped Kanye and Mary J. Blige on their respective albums. I had the beat and Ye was like, ‘This sh*t is so fire. We gonna get Hov on it and we gonna go crazy,’” Fivio stated. “He’s like, ‘I’m going to get Alicia Keys to sing it.’”

Fivio states that Ye’s impatience faulted the verse from the 4:44 rapper. “But he wanted it out so fast. He’s like, ‘Yo, I’ma just do a verse,’” Fivio continued.“So he did the verse, got Alicia Keys on it, she ate that shit up, easy. She different.”

Fans were so close to getting Ye and Jay-Z back in the studio together, but maybe sometime in the future.

One person who likely won’t be happy to see the album drop is New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who has been on a one-man, anti-drill rap campaign, saying, “We are alarmed by the use of social media to really over-proliferate this violence in communities.” However, drill rap mainstays like Fivio maintain that they are only recounting the state of violence they see, not causing it themselves.

In any case, B.I.B.L.E. is now due 4/8 via Columbia Records.
