Redman Drops “So Cool” Video Off Long Awaited ‘Muddy Waters 2’ Project

Releasing his first visual “So Cool” off of his highly anticipated album Muddy Waters 2, Hip Hop legend Redman is offering music lovers a sneak peak to his forthcoming project which is slated to drop later this year.

The Grammy Award-nominated rapper, actor and producer is back to showcase his raw rhymes and playfulness while further solidifying his musical legacy.

“So Cool” is produced by longtime collaborator and fellow Def Squad member, Grammy Award-winning producer Eric Sermon.

Redman prepares his comeback and the release of his 9th studio album via Riveting Music.

Fans of his 1996 Muddy Waters will be reminiscing on the 90’s while catching panoramic views of “America’s Playground,” Atlantic City in the Azzie Scott directed monster truck themed video.

“Griner Shouldn’t Be Political Pawn” WNBA Players Exec Director Terri Jackson To Biden Admin

Monday night, Women’s National Basketball Players Association Executive Director, Terri Jackson was interviewed on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. Jackson spoke to Trevor about Brittney Griner, who has been detained in Russia for five months.

The Phoenix Mercury star entered a guilty plea over a week ago while saying she “didn’t want to break the law.” The guilty plea aids as a pre-condition for consideration of a negotiated release and possible prisoner exchange between Russia and the U.S.

Griner is facing up to 10 years in prison on the charge of large-scale transportation of drugs. Less than 1% of defendants in Russian criminal cases are acquitted, which can be overturned.

Jakson explains why the WNBA was told not to respond or comment publicly when Griner was first detained. She also shared comments that many people feel Griner is being used as a political pawn. Griner “should not be a political pawn,” Jackson continued. “We are BG,” calling on the Biden administration, what comes next and much more in the clip below.

H.E.R. Cast As 1st Afro-Filipina To Play Belle In “Beauty And The Beast”

The multi talented musician H.E.R. has been cast to play Belle in a Beauty and the Beast 30th anniversary special. The Disney special will include brand new musical performances with never-before-seen sets and costumes.

The five-time Grammy winner said she was especially excited to portray a Black and Filipino princess in an official press release.

“I can’t believe I get to be a part of the ‘Beauty and the Beast’ legacy. The world will see a Black and Filipino Belle!” the 25-year-old R&B singer gushed. “I have always wanted to be a Disney princess, and I get to work with two wonderful directors Hamish Hamilton and my favorite, Jon M. Chu. It is very surreal and I couldn’t be more grateful.”

Executive producer Jon M. Chu added, “With her obvious extraordinary talent and stage presence, H.E.R. is the perfect embodiment of our Belle and we are thrilled for audiences to see her in this celebration of creativity.”

H.E.R.’s casting marks the first time an Afro-Filipina woman will play the role of Belle on screen. However it won’t be her last of her on the big screen as she is set to star in the 2023 Warner Bros. adaptation of The Color Purple.

The Beauty and the Beast 30th anniversary special will air on ABC Dec. 15 at 8 p.m. ET and streams on Disney+ the following day.

Ex Minneapolis Cop Thomas Lane Sentenced To 2 ½ Years For Holding George Floyd’s Legs

Former Minneapolis police officer Thomas Lane is being sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison for his role in George Floyd’s murder two years ago during an arrest. 39-year-old Lane was convicted in federal court of violating Floyd’s civil rights by denying him medical care.

The sentence is what Lane’s lawyers asked for, saying he was the only officer that encouraged former officer Derek Chauvin to roll Floyd onto his side so he could breathe. Chauvin kept his knee on Floyd’s neck for nine and a half minutes, which led to his death.

Mr. Floyd’s relatives had asked the judge to impose the maximum prison term possible and said afterward that they were upset by the sentence, According to The New York Times.

“It’s insulting that he didn’t get the maximum amount of time,” said Philonise Floyd, one of Floyd’s brothers, adding: “If it was me and that was accessory to murder, they would’ve gave me the maximum amount of time. And you’re a police officer who was sworn to protect, who took an oath, and you didn’t get the maximum amount of time.”

All four officers who were at the scene were charged with various crimes.

R&B duo dvsn, consisting of singer Daniel Daley and GRAMMY Award-winning producer Nineteen85 unveil their provocative, new single “If I Get Caught” accompanied by an equally thought-provoking new video via OVO Sound and Warner Records.

With the help of Jermaine Dupri, “If I Get Caught” samples “Song Cry” from JAY-Z’s seminal 2001 album The Blueprint. It twists the Hip Hop classic into a moral dilemma about infidelity and its impact on a relationship.

“If I get caught cheating, that don’t mean I don’t love you,” dvsn sings on the chorus.

Although it’s sung from the perspective of a man, in the rollout promo a mixed focus group of men and women in various relationship types solidified its theme as universal.

The controversial video directed by Andy Madeleine showcases Daniel Daley and his best friend Mal embarking on a night out with Jermaine Dupri making a cameo appearance. All while Daniel’s girlfriend is left at home to her own devices, assuming the worst about what the boys will get into.

TDE Vibes, Doechii Joins Forces With SZA on “Persuasive” Remix

Doechii and multi-platinum Grammy winner SZA join forces on the new remix of “Persuasive” released via Top Dawg Entertainment/Capitol Records.

Today marks the first collaboration of TDE’s female powerhouses with all the vibes on “Persuasive” remix. Doechii flexes her signature half-rap, half-singing flow.

“Feel like I feel like I needed rest, feel it’s the season I should let go,” the 23-year-old spits over a Kal Banx production. The addition of SZA to “Persuasive,” which is an ode to the perfect high, makes the song even more addicting.

“I created “Persuasive” to uplift people and bring communities together, so having SZA jump on the song was a perfect fit because I’ve always connected with others over her music,” says Doechii. “Knowing that SZA is with TDE was what originally got me most excited about being on this label, so now that we have a song together it’s a full-circle moment.
