Benzino Responds To Jokes About His Neck, Calls Out Shannon Sharpe

Benzino is tired of people making jokes about his neck and doesn’t understand why Shannon Sharpe isn’t the target of such scrutiny. He explained his reasoning during an upcoming appearance on Drink Champs. N.O.R.E. shared a teaser from the interview on Instagram, on Tuesday, featuring Benzino’s comments on his neck.

“N****s want to talk about my neck. I got a f*cking neck. Everybody has f*cking neck. Shannon Sharpe don’t got a neck. Like, Shannon Sharpe’s neck is as big as mine. Y’all don’t say nothing about Shannon Sharpe,” he argued.

Benzino isn’t the only one to take a shot at Shannon Sharpe in recent days. Comedian Mike Epps also called him out during a stand-up routine. After a back and forth between the two, Sharpe revealed that they decided to sit down with one another on Club Shay Shay and hash things out. “UNC and @TheRealMikeEpps have decided 2 have a man 2 man conversation in Indy at NBA all star weekend 2 discuss our differences,” he said on Twitter. “We both realize this situation could’ve been, should’ve been handled differently. G Herbo Discusses “Taking Accountability” With Three-Year Probation Sentence

Last month, G Herbo finally learned his fate after pleading guilty to two charges in 2023. He admitted to one count of wire fraud conspiracy and another count of making false statements to a federal official. The sentencing follows his and his crew’s 2020 indictment, which saw them be accused of “booking trips, services, and other luxurious purchases while using stolen identities” and more.

The judge handed him a three-year probation sentence last month, meaning that Herbo wouldn’t have to spend any more time behind bars than he already has. In addition to his sentence, he was ordered to pay nearly $140K in restitution, as well as a $5.5K fine. While probation and fines certainly aren’t ideal, his fate could have been much worse. Reportedly, he could have been looking at up to 20 years in prison, and prosecutors were pushing for at least one.

During his recent appearance on Drink Champs, G Herbo opened up about the sentence, explaining that for him it was all about taking accountability. “You know God, man, for real,” he began. “I’ve got to give all praise to God for sure. But you know just staying alone, staying the course, and a lot of money for sure. You feel what I’m saying? A lot of money to stay free. At the end of the day, I was taking accountability for a minor role in some sh*t.”

“Just me being a kid and being naive,” he continued. “I barely even know how to use my cell phone, like, I ain’t never committed fraud against nobody. N.O.R.E. shared an update on his weight loss journey on his Instagram Story on Wednesday. Posting several photos of himself after a workout, he remarked: “They saying imma clone.” It’s the latest update in a series of posts the Drink Champs host has made as of late.

Earlier this week, he shared a video of one jog he went on in honor of marathon runners. “In honor of my family in the marathon I wanted to honor them by doing 10miles today,” he captioned the post. “I ended up doing 11 big up my camara @bellaneri3 and @spkillamuzik @spkilla99 on the movie congrats @losantonio @bigmitya drinking wit metals on today!!! Dragon fly yande!!!”

N.O.R.E. isn’t the only voice in hip-hop who has been making headlines for their weight loss. 50 Cent has also caught similar attention on social media, with some users even accusing him of being on Ozempic. “Everybody talking about weight loss,” he responded on Instagram. “I was in the gym, I was working the f*ck out, man. And they say it was Ozempic. I was running, I was doing what I had to do. You see me on tour, I ran around. I was 253 pounds. I came down, I’m 210 right now, right. How you feel about it? You tell me how you feel about it later, right.” 50 also recently recalled fans calling him fat after his performance at the Super Bowl in 2022. “I done turned into Mr let’s make a deal on these h*es,” he wrote on Instagram. “the fvck you gonna tell me now? Congrats to Tony Yayo, whose Drink Champs podcast episode this year with N.O.R.E., DJ EFN, and company was the show’s most-watched iteration of 2023. As a guest, he had plenty to look back on, including G-Unit’s past feuds with the likes of Terror Squad and plenty of other hip-hop opponents. These became the stuff of legend in 2000s New York and beyond, and things have definitely changed a lot since then. Beef is more one-on-one than ever these days, and it’s rare for full groups to rally against each other in such a high-profile way. Funnily enough, Yayo and 50 Cent’s former rival Fat Joe gave the former his props for his success as a special guest on Drink Champs.

He explained how during his recent appearance on Drink Champs while discussing the legacy of his late UGK partner. For Megan Thee Stallion, Bun says she’s approaching Pimp’s style from a “female perspective.”

“There is no one man I think that can replicate it, right?” he began. “You see some dudes with the personalities. [Like elements of Pimp], I see that in most people. You know, Megan Thee Stallion embodies a lot of what Pimp represented. I think that’s why it was so jarring for people to see it coming from a woman. But she’s not saying nothing Pimp wasn’t saying, it just came from a female perspective.”

Rapper and food entrepreneur Bun B joined Drink Champs to talk about his lengthy rap career and more pressingly, his successful Trill Burgers enterprise. “When these burgers came into my life, I was like, this is it,” Bun began. “This is what I been waiting for all my life. I haven’t felt anything like this [feeling] since probably hip hop, getting married and this,” he said. “[It aligns] with passion, it aligns with purpose. It makes me wanna be present in the moment and learn sh-t,” Bun B explained.

Furthermore, he discussed what he believes is the reason behind its viral success. “Not only was it the best burger I had ever had by far, but it was one of the best meals I had ever had. That’s why people keep coming back to Trill Burgers. Because it’s so satisfying. And the flavor and the taste and the product has been consistent. We’ve broken every record. Every music festival we’ve ever been to, we’ve broken every single day and weekend vendor record anybody’s ever had. It’s not only an incredible food product, but it has 30 years of trill culture built into it. So there’s residual benefits to not just buying the burger but supporting the brand,” he continued.

Elsewhere, Bun B reflected on getting love from old-school rappers such as Chuck D and Flava Flav. “When my OGs show love like that, it’s only right that I be as gracious. I had to fight to get there, but there were people with their foot in the door, holding it open for me. And they appreciate the way that I came in and the way I represented the culture and it’s so fulfilling because before there was any more, cars and mansions and all of that, you wanted rappers that was nice to say that you was nice. And I’ve been able to say that pretty much everybody I looked up to as an artist, looks at me as a real rapper. I’m really out here doing my thing and that’s an amazing thing to carry,” he explained.

Furthermore, he highlighted several artists who are carrying the legacy of Pimp C. “Megan Thee Stallion embodies a lot of what Pimp C represented. Treach Discusses 2Pac’s Murder, Says Police Have Known The Killer For Years

Treach says that the Las Vegas Police Department has known the identity of 2Pac’s killer for years, despite only arresting Duane “Keefe D” Davis back in September, 25 years after the rapper’s infamous death. The Naughty By Nature artist discussed the case during a recent interview on Drink Champs.

“I think it’s a testament to if you’re a rapper they’re not gonna investigate it. Anything that was said was said by the perpetrator,” Treach said. “Whatever went on the system first knew a lot of this way before. Me, I’m just one, there’s two families on either side of life that’s destroyed. When anyone dies or the shooter, it’s n****s against n****s… Look at the f*cking world, everyone stands with each other.”

Treach continued: “Suge [Knight] said they wanted him to get on stand. We cut from different cloths. Nobody is ever going on the stand for shit. That ain’t supposed to stop police from doing their motherf*ckin’ job.” From there, he explained that police had all the evidence they needed. “Nah they been knowing. I’ve seen documentaries for decades. Many laying down, many details. If you got on tape in Vegas in a casino of an altercation between different gang factions, that’s a No. 1 suspect. It’s on camera for the cops and then the documentaries come out and say it and we over there like, ‘Duh.’ 20 years ago he would’ve got locked up and he’d be out now. If you’re a younger reader, you may not know of all the greatness behind Naughty By Nature, the ’90s hip-hop trio behind the classic hit “O.P.P.” and many more. Fortunately, its leading MC Treach recently appeared on Drink Champs to provide some of this context and history. Moreover, he told N.O.R.E., DJ EFN, and the rest of the crew about his career history, his influence in the game, and his many collabs and friendships across the East and West Coasts, whether it’s with Biggie Smalls or with Tupac. Of course, they also had time to address wild tour stories, aliens, and other fun topics.

Even though he might not be the biggest household name these days, the New Jersey native holds a lot of respect within hip-hop. Whether it’s through his work with other legends or his presence and knowledge in the culture, he has quite the impressive resumé. Sure, there are also the parts of this story that fall more into the gossip side of things, especially with recent revelations. For example, Will Smith was scared to go on a date with Pepa because she and Treach were on a break at the time. Needless to say, the actor didn’t really want that smoke with him, both out of respect and fear for his life.
