UK Politician Quotes Dr. Dre’s “The Next Episode” During Debate

Rappers can be considered the modern day Shakespeare’s the way they’re quoted on a daily basis.

UK’s House Of Commons Shadow Health Secretary, Wes Streeting, used a quote from Dr. Dre’s “The Next Episode” during a debate to voice his frustrations with a plan set forth by the UK’s Conservative Party’s for the United Kingdom National Health Services (NHS).

For some backstory, the newly appointed health secretary Thérèse Coffey set forth a new plan for the NHS to set up a £500 million emergency fund to get medically sound people out of hospitals quicker to prevent the NHS from becoming overwhelmed. However, Streeting was dissatisfied with this resolution and decided to speak against it.

“The faces change, but the story remains the same,” he said in an address to the House of Commons. “There is still no plan that comes close to meeting the scale of a challenge, no plan for staffing, no real plan for the NHS. So it is clear, the longer the conservatives are in power, the longer patients will wait. As Dr. Dre might say, time for the next episode.”

However, this isn’t the first time this year rap lyrics have been used by government officials in a foreign country. Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense used a line from Pusha-T’s “Numbers On The Boards” in a tweet showing the number of Russian casualties since the invasion of Ukraine started earlier this year.

Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, And Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Performance Wins Three Emmys

Last night, the Television Academy announced that this year’s Super Bowl halftime performance, which took place this past February and featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, And Kendrick Lamar, had won three Creative Arts Emmy awards.

On social media, the Academy revealed that the performance won the awards for Outstanding Variety Special (Live), Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special, and Outstanding Music Direction.

This year’s Super Bowl was an iconic moment for hip-hop, largely for West Coast hip-hop. In a July interview with Apple Music 1, Blige sat down to reflect on the monumental performance.

“I don’t even have the words to explain how full and how huge of an accomplishment that was,” Blige said. “I just felt so strong. And I felt like, first of all, grateful to have been asked, but I definitely felt like I earned that moment,” Blige remarked. “So when it was my turn, I just showed the world who I was. If you’d never seen me or you never met me or you never went to any of my shows, you know exactly who I am after the Super Bowl. I just couldn’t wait to hit the Mary bopping. I just couldn’t wait to just be myself and do what I do in front of that audience. That was the world, that was a big deal. I was so grateful.”

Mary J. Blige is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Diddy Gets Some Production Advice From Dr. Dre In The Studio

Many musical legends never get the chance to work together, leaving fans wondering what could result from a collaboration. Diddy and Dr. Dre are indelible parts of music history, but they’ve never formally got the chance to work together — that is, until recently.

In a Tuesday Instagram post, the one known as “Brother Love” shared photos of himself and the Beats Electronic co-founder working together in the studio coupled with an earnest message. “Yesterday, one of my biggest dreams finally came true. I remember the first time I heard @DrDre’s production. It gave me clear direction on the level of Producer that I wanted to be,” Diddy said. “Last night, I got the chance to work with this man and to see his genius as he coached me through vocals. He reminded me of myself, but with a different style and way more focused. I gotta step my focus up!”

Rap Radar reported that the two joined forces to contribute to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s forthcoming joint album, which Snoop confirmed in his recent appearance on the Rap Radar podcast alongside Jamie Foxx. Though details about the project remain thin on the ground, with heavy hitters like Diddy in the mix it’s bound to be a mindblowing listen.

dre and diddy

Diddy and Dr. Dre are two of the greatest producers of all time, and its unfortunate that throughout both of their 3 decade long careers, they have never collaborated together. However, Diddy recently took to Instagram where he shared pictures of himself and Dr. Dre working in the studio.

“Yesterday, one of my biggest dreams finally came true. I remember the first time I heard @DrDre’s production,” Diddy wrote in the caption. “It gave me clear direction on the level of Producer that I wanted to be. Last night, I got the chance to work with this man and to see his genius as he coached me through vocals.’

“He reminded me of myself, but with a different style and way more focused. I gotta step my focus up lol !” Diddy added. “But it was a great experience and I thank God for it. I hope one day ya’ll get to have the same experience with someone that you always looked up to as a hero.”

According to HipHopDX, who received an email from Diddy’s team, the two super producers were in the studio working on Dre’s highly anticipated album with Snoop Dogg.

“The two music moguls came together to collaborate for Dr. Dre’s highly anticipated upcoming album with Snoop Dogg, who was also in attendance. Producing with Dr. Dre has been a long-time dream for Mr. [Sean] Combs and the night was made even more special as he coached him through vocals.”

It seems as if Dre is really bringing hip hop production royalty on his next album. Earlier this week, Conway the machine shared a picture of himself on IG in the studio with Dr. Dre and Kanye. He captioned the photo “Spooky!…”

Dr. Dre Reveals He Almost Died After His Brain Aneurysm Last Year: ‘They Thought I Was Out Of Here’

Last year, rapper and superproducer Dr. Dre made news after suffering a brain aneurysm. Although he appeared to be in good health during his performance at this year’s Super Bowl, one may never guess that he almost died after his medical emergency.

In an interview with Dolvett Quince for an upcoming episode of the Workout The Doubt podcast, Dre shared his family visited him at the hospital, fearing that it would’ve been the last time they see him

“I’m at Cedar Sinai Hospital and they weren’t allowing anybody to come up, meaning visitors or family or anything like that because of COVID,” he said. “But they allowed my family to come in. I found out later, they called them up so they could say their last goodbyes because they thought I was out of here.”

Dre revealed that during his two-week stay in the ICU, doctors woke him up every hour, on the hour, to conduct tests.

“[The tests were] basically looking like sobriety tests,” Dre said. “Touch your nose, rub your heel on your calf and all that sh*t. So every hour for two weeks I had to wake up and do that.”
