Donnell Rawlings & DJ Envy Butt Heads On “The Breakfast Club”

55-year-old Donnell Rawlings is a man who’s best known for being able to lighten the mood in virtually any room. Lately, however, the comedian’s been building a reputation for having a sharp tongue that lashes out at his critics – or anyone who tries to interrupt him, as DJ Envy learned on The Breakfast Club today (March 7). At one point on the show, Rawlings was chatting with co-host Jess Hilarious when he suddenly called out her colleague for breaking up their discussion about the tough competition in the world of comedy.

“I’m not talking to you, Envy. I’m talking to a comedian,” the father of one curtly said. “Do you want to do comedy? You can start like we did, you can do open mics. I know you have a platform and you think you can do anything,” Rawlings further lashed out at the media personality. Before long, the guest also referenced Envy’s infamous 2023 alleged real estate scam, making him feel even worse about the messy situation. “Do we interrupt car show promotions like this?” Rawlings asked.

“Imagine me interfering when you talking about one of your punk-ass car shows. We don’t do seminars for houses anymore. I’m so glad that time is over,” the legendary entertain continued to berate Envy. Keeping things light, Charlamagne Tha God chimed in with a joke – “He doesn’t do open mics, he does open houses.” In response, Rawlings laughed, “Them houses is closed like s**t right now” around the 11:40 mark below.

Donnell Rawlings Joins Shannon Sharpe Trend But Ultimately Defends Hall Of Famer

Donnell Rawlings has become the latest figure to join the Shannon Sharpe mockery train. The comedian delivered a perfect impression of Sharpe’s voice, as well as copying his now viral awkward walk, while speaking with TMZ. However, Rawlings ultimately spoke in defense of the Hall of Fame tight end. Rawlings noted that while it was funny, Sharpe likely still feels the effects of his long playing career in the NFL. Sharpe played for 13 years and appeared in over 200 games while recording nearly 11,000 receiving yards.

Sharpe has become a viral figure after awkwardly exiting an SUV earlier this week during a promotion for his cognac brand. Additional mockery came from Sharpe’s tight-fitting green outfit and bright orange satchel bag. As mentioned, the “Shannon Sharpe Walk” became a viral trend on TikTok especially. How do you feel about the trend? Let us know in the comments.

Antonio Brown Continues Trolling Shannon Sharpe With Bizarre Pop Culture Reference

Another person who joined in on the trend of mocking Sharpe was Antonio Brown. In his latest post against the Hall of Famer turned pundit, Brown tried to compare Sharpe to “Rex”, the T-Rex character from Toy Story. “Just can’t unseen it” Brown wrote alongside an image of Sharpe wearing a similar satchel bag to Rex. Previously, Brown had called Sharpe gay and alleged he was on steroids. It’s unclear why exactly Brown hates Sharpe in particular but the disdain is fierce.

While some Twitter users found the post hilarious, others were less enthused. Some saw the post as either not funny or simply just reaching. Meanwhile, a more vocal group hit back at Brown for going after the largely beloved Sharpe. Many commenters told Brown not to go after “Unc” like that, referencing Sharpe’s prominent fandom nickname. All of this was done under Brown’s CTESPN banner. How do you feel about Brown’s posts? Let us know in the comments.

Corey Holcomb & Donnell Rawlings Yelling Match Ensues As Former Disses Dave Chappelle

Patrons at The Laugh Factory this past Sunday (February 18) were expecting a great comedy show, but they weren’t prepared for the drama between two performers at the venue to explode. After Donnell Rawlings finished his set, 55-year-old Corey Holcomb had some jokes to get off, though he notably used his time behind the mic to diss both Rawlings and his friend Dave Chappelle. In a video obtained by TMZ, Holcomb’s audience didn’t seem receptive to him cracking jokes at other Black men’s expense, specifically failing to laugh when he called Chappelle and Rawlings “mild.”

The father of three admitted he might be in the wrong for his comments, but that didn’t stop him from continuing on with his set. What did bring things to a halt was Rawlings’ reaction to the hatred, causing him to stand up out of his seat and curse Holcomb out. “I catch you up in all these rooms in f**king Brooklyn and you ain’t ever f**ked with [unintelligible]… You wanna talk about it? You saying I’m mild, you saying I ain’t come through the streets or the gutters is straight bulls**t.”

Donnell Rawlings Defends Dave Chappelle from Corey Holcomb

Another comment that upset Rawlings is Holcomb’s claim that any comedian who has appeared in three or more movies “has had to perform fellatio on someone” in the entertainment industry. The Wire actor takes this personally, as he has several film credits on his resume, but has never engaged in any sort of sexual favours for them to come to fruition.

It seems that part of what brought Dave Chappelle and Donell Rawlings together as friends may have been their shared need to speak up for what they feel is right. Before the latter defended the former from Corey Holcomb, Chappelle called out Katt Williams for berating several Black comics in his viral Club Shay Shay interview. Read what the Half Baked actor had to say at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

[WATCH] Donnell Rawlings Believes It’s Time for Chris Rock and Will Smith to Talk: ‘The Score is Even’

Donnell Rawlings Says Chris Rock and Will Smith Are Even After Slap Jokes TMZ 0 29 screenshot

Donnell Rawlings has seen Chris Rock’s special and confirmed that his comedian friend was “furious.” In addition, Rawlings stated Rock’s family wanted to retaliate, which also put Smith’s family in danger.

“It’s war. Hopefully, it’s over,” Rawlings said. “A lot of people are fans of both of them, and it’s really ugly. As a comic, you can’t tell them what they’re going to do and how to respond.”

Regarding the jokes from Rock, Rawlings stated that the idea that they were an attack on a marginalized woman was a “matter of opinion.”

“People can also say, as most comics say, these are just jokes,” Rawlings added.

Rawlings would conclude by saying the score is even, and this would be the best time to talk.
