DJ Akademiks Refutes Kendrick Lamar Bar Stealing Claims, Calls K-Dot A “Genius”

DJ Akademiks has been a key figure in the feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Overall, Akademiks has been live on stream every day since things escalated with “Euphoria” last Tuesday. It has been impressive to watch him move, especially since he got name-dropped by Kendrick on “6:16 In LA.” If any media figure has come away with the win in this beef, it has been Ak, even if he is a Drake stan. Ak has been adamant that Kendrick is winning, although he has been teasing something new from the Toronto megastar.

Last night, Kendrick Lamar found himself in the crosshairs of Drake fans. One page called King Jared found some old tweets that contain punchlines similar to those found in “Not Like Us.” This subsequently led to allegations that Lamar has been straight up stealing his bars from Twitter. While many believe these are purely coincidental, others are firm believers that this completely disqualifies Kendrick from the rap battle.

DJ Akademiks Goes Over King Jared’s Claims

In the Via link below, you can see a clip from Ak’s stream last night where he speaks on the stolen bar accusations. Ultimately, Akademiks thinks that fans need to chill out and stop looking for things that don’t exist. He admitted that Drake fans such as himself just need to admit that K-Dot is a genius and that he got one over on Drake. To claim otherwise, would simply be a bit delusional. It was an admirable stance for Akademiks to take, especially when you consider how he has a direct line to the “God’s Plan” artist.

Let us know what you think of the allegations leveled against Kendrick Lamar, in the comments section down below. Do you really believe that he was lurking through Twitter to find some bars for “Not Like Us?” Or do you think that Drake fans are just trying to find a new angle? DJ Akademiks Hints At New Drake Song Following Days Of Silence

DJ Akademiks has been one of the main sources of inside information throughout the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud. Overall, this makes a whole lot of sense when you consider how Drake is friendly with Ak. In fact, Drizzy was the one who informed Akademiks that “Family Matters” would be dropping on Friday night. At this stage, fans are curious as to whether or not the Canadian megastar is going to release again. Akademiks has been teasing a new song, and Drake has been pretty ambiguous on his Instagram page. That said, no one knows for sure what is going down.

Well, taking to Twitter today, Akademiks had a message for the fans. It was a cryptic one at that as he simply said “Appreciate the silence. What comes after it is usually great.” Ultimately, fans have no real idea what this means. It could have a whole plethora of meanings for all we know. That said, it does appear as though Drake has something up his sleeve. “The Heart Part 6” was not it for a lot of people, and they would have loved for him to have finished the feud with something a lot stronger.

DJ Akademiks Continues To Have The Inside Track

Having said all of that, on the song “Not Like Us,” Kendrick Lamar makes it apparent that he has 10 diss tracks ready to go. If that is truly the case, Drake may want to hold off on going further with the feud. After all, “Meet The Grahams” and “Not Like Us” were absolutely scathing, and both artists may damage their reputations further if this continues to go down a dark path.

Let us know what you think of this tweet from DJ Akademiks, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that this signifies that a new Drake song is going to be coming out today? Or do you believe that this is all over and done with? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

DJ Akademiks Reveals Why Rappers Haven’t Supported Drake During Kendrick Lamar Beef

DJ Akademiks, just like many other content creators and media figures, is starting to look at the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef from more of a retrospective. Moreover, he theorized as to why many people in the rap game haven’t supported the former in this feud, or at least pointed out various instances of people subliminally picking their side or standing in silence. In particular, the streamer named Kid Cudi and Chris Brown as two examples, one for tweeting about ghostwriting and the other for seemingly dancing to “Not Like Us” in the club. Also, he speculated on why 4batz’s new album wasn’t under OVO, didn’t feature his Drizzy remix, and instead included a Kanye West remix.

Perhaps the most salient point DJ Akademiks made throughout all of this emerged towards the beginning of the video below. “Today, I looked around, and it felt like people were trying to read the eulogy of Drake,” he said while on stream. “You know how they always say, ‘Every billionaire done f***ed over a couple of people to get to that point’? Man, Drake did a number on half of these n***as, ’cause as soon as they see Drake kind of down, everybody has a slick comment or something almost saying, ‘Yes, about f***ing time!’ They’re either jumping him or they’re happy he got jumped.”

DJ Akademiks Speaks On Other Rappers Subbing Drake & Other Kendrick Lamar Beef Narratives

Elsewhere during this clip, DJ Akademiks also revisits “The Heart Part 6,” speaks on the “Meet The Grahams” cover art, and much more. But this particular sentiment about people turning on Drake due to him screwing many people over is a theory that former Everyday Struggle co-host Joe Budden also shares. He posited it in a different way on his podcast, instead suggesting that the people directly involved in the beef like other rappers and producers showed the breadth of the distaste for the 6ix God. While Ak referred more to reactions from uninvolved parties, they both landed on a similar conclusion that something must’ve happened for Kendrick Lamar to either jump in or be asked to jump in.

Meanwhile, Drake dropped his first Instagram Story since “The Heart Part 6” and the troubling and hopefully soon-resolved incidents that happened around his home in Toronto. Whether or not the battle with Kendrick Lamar is over, folks are treating it as such right now. Maybe either artist has some more ammunition, but it seems unlikely. Now, everyone’s just examining the fallout and wondering how this will all age as the industry continues to shift.

DJ Akademiks Teases The Release Of New Diss Records: “Waiting…”

DJ Akademiks’ profile has risen significantly since the Drake and Kendrick Lamar battle started. He got sampled on a song, name-dropped on a song, and has been lionized as one of the main sources for new information. The internet personality was the one who confirmed that the battle stemmed from Lamar’s decision to turn down a guest spot on Drake’s “First Person Shooter.” He continued to tease his insider information on May 8. According to Ak, fans should begin preparing for brand new diss tracks.

DJ Akademiks revved up the fans when he posted a cryptic message on his Instagram Story. An all black background served as the basis for white text that read: “Waiting on a few records.” He threw a smiling emoji in for good measure, suggesting that fans are going to be in for a treat. The thing that makes Ak’s post cryptic, though, is that he doesn’t specify which rapper is dropping new music. It’s safe to assume Drake or Kendrick Lamar are the most likely candidates. This is bolstered by the fact that Akademiks said a diss track was originally supposed to drop on May 7. The only reason it didn’t was because there was a shooting at Drake’s mansion in Toronto.

DJ Akademiks Claims New Disses Are On The Way

“There was supposed to be some new music today,” Ak said via stream. “I’m not saying from who nor am I gonna confirm from either party that we’ve really been interested in.” There’s been widespread debate as to whether Drake will drop a second consecutive diss, after “The Heart Part 6,” or if Lamar will rattle off a response. Drake’s last diss received mixed reviews from listeners, and currently has more dislikes than likes on YouTube, so it may be in his best interest to try again. Lamar has stated, however, that he’s got plenty more songs tucked away.

Another theory circulating online is that the songs Ak teased were not from Drake or Lamar. Some have posited that they disses from two completely different artists. The Game, for example, has been throwing jabs at Rick Ross over social media. The Game loves to battle, as he’s seen from his two decade career, and he recently criticized the way that current rappers like J. Cole have gone “soft.” We could easily see a world in which Game decides to declare war on Rozay. As it stands, DJ Akademiks is the only one with the release info. Hopefully he’s telling the truth, and we get to hear these “records” soon.

DJ Akademiks Reveals Connection Between Whitney Alford’s Brother & Drake’s “Taylor Made Freestyle”

DJ Akademiks has been one of the biggest online creators commenting on the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef. Overall, Akademiks has been live-streaming for quite a while. The back and forth between these two has kept Ak busy, and he constantly has to go on stream to react to the latest song. Although Kendrick appears to be winning the beef right now, Akademiks has certainly been taking up for Drake, and making a unique case for him. On his alternate IG account, Ak seems to be going deep with his investigative work.

Thanks to “Family Matters,” there has been quite a bit of talk about Kendrick’s fiance Whitney Alford, and whether or not she and Lamar are still together. Some have noticed that she and Kendrick don’t follow each other on Instagram. However, it was later noted that they have never followed one another. In a new post from Akademiks, he noted how Alford doesn’t follow her brother Taylor. Once again, some fans noted that she never has. That said, Ak also noted how Alford isn’t wearing any sort of ring on her left hand, which furthers the narrative that her and Lamar are separated.

DJ Akademiks Is Looking For Clues

Lastly, Akademiks also noted that Taylor Alford’s Spotify biography notes that he also goes by “TaylorMade.” Of course, Drake dropped off “Taylor Made Freestyle” a few weeks ago, only to take it down after pressure from Tupac’s estate. Some believe that this is much more than just a coincidence and that this had to have been calculated. As for what Drake may have been trying to say here, we may actually never know.

Let us know what you think of this latest theory that is circulating online, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that we have entered a period in which the entire feud is being overanalyzed? Do you think that this has all gone way too far? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

DJ Akademiks Claims New Drake-Kendrick Lamar Diss Was Delayed After Shooting

Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar has become the biggest rap battle of the 21st century. Part of the appeal, at least at first, was that fans were confident the two artists would keep their attacks on wax, and not resort to real-world violence. Well, things took a turn for the worse on May 7, when a shooting broke out at the home of the 6 God himself. A member of Drake’s security team was shot in the chest and subsequently rushed to the hospital. The shooting not only forced fans to step back and consider the risks both artists are taking, but delayed what was supposed to be another day of dissing.

DJ Akademiks gave some revelatory context to the shooting during a recent Twitch stream. He revealed that a new diss song was set to be released on May 7, but the shooting has resulted in an indefinite delay. “There was supposed to be some new music today,” Ak told viewers. “I’m not saying from who nor am I gonna confirm from either party that we’ve really been interested in.” The general belief is that Drake was going to drop again, given that Akademiks has had the inside scoop on OVO releases. That being said, the Toronto rapper was the last person to release a diss song.

DJ Akademiks Didn’t Say Who Was Planning The Diss

Unless he was planning on a back-to-back approach, Kendrick Lamar was the next one up. Akademiks didn’t give any clues as to which rapper was eyeing May 7 for a release date. He did, however, confirm that the shooting is what led to it being shelved. “The plan of releasing got foiled today after some really serious news came out,” he added. “If you guys don’t know, there was a shooting at Drake’s house this morning.” The internet personality said the incident is being referred to as a “drive-by.”

DJ Akademiks also relayed a message from Drake. He confirmed that he talked with the rapper shortly after the shooting went down. He also assured fans that the “Family Matters” rapper was safe. “I have spoken with Drake, and he’s okay,” he said via Twitch. “You know, he said he’s good. Nothing more than that, nothing less.” A new release date has not been set for the alleged diss. If violence continues to be an issue for Drake and Kendrick Lamar, there’s a chance the entire battle will be laid to rest.

DJ Akademiks Relays Message From Drake After Shooting: “He’s Okay”

Drake has had a rough week. He had to contend with Kendrick Lamar dropping three diss tracks on him in less than 48 hours. He also had to contend with Toronto locals vandalizing his OVO store. The scariest encounter, however, was the shooting that took place at his home. According to NBC, shots were heard outside of the rapper’s Park Lane Circle residence around 2 a.m. on May 7. There was a statement issued by Drake’s representatives, but we didn’t hear direct from the rapper until DJ Akademiks got on stream later the same day.

Akademiks, the point man for the OVO camp as far as media coverage goes, shared a message he got from the 6 God himself. “I’ll tell you this,” he announced to viewers. “I have spoken with Drake, and he’s okay. You know, he said he’s good. Nothing more than that, nothing less.” The internet personality did lament the fact that someone was indeed hurt in the shooting. “Obviously, you know, there’s someone who’s probably still battling for their life, and got shot at his house,” he added. “But if you’re wondering [about] Drake himself, he’s fine and I think that’s short and sweet.”

Drake Assured DJ Akademiks He Wasn’t Injured

The person who was shot was a member of Drake’s security team. A not was not provided, but Inspector Paul Krawczyk told NBC that the person was bleeding and standing outside of Drake’s home when police arrived. Krawczyk also posited that the person was “shot from a vehicle which then fled the scene.” The Inspector did not divulge any additional details about the vehicle or how many suspects they are looking for. He did, however, note that the incident was caught on security camera.

Fans have tried to tie the incident in with Drake’s current rap battle, but it’s too early to determine the motive behind the shooting. Krawcyzk told the outlet that he’s not comfortable floating a guess because it’s “so early” in the investigation. He’s currently in touch with Drake’s team to get to the bottom of the incident, and ensure that the rapper is not put at risk moving forward.

Elliott Wilson Discusses Drake’s “The Heart Part 6” With DJ Akademiks: “I’m Disappointed”

Elliott Wilson says that he was disappointed by Drake’s newest attempt to diss Kendrick Lamar on “The Heart Part 6.” He discussed the track during a phone call with DJ Akademiks while the live streamer was broadcasting. Wilson argued that Drake’s strategy for the beef isn’t doing him any favors.

“I’m actually very disappointed in this song,” he admitted. “The problem I’m having with Drake in this whole thing is that he refuses to view Kendrick as a worthy opponent. He still keeps little bro-ing him like we’re in the Club Paradise days. I just don’t think that’s the right strategy, He needs to deliver bars and go at him. He hadn’t even made a whole record direct to Kendrick yet. He’s all about airing everyone out that’s going against him. Obviously, there’s a whole movement and Metro orchestrated a lot of it.”

From there, Wilson added: “He doesn’t get why Kendrick is so big and why people love him so much and the type of music he makes and the success he has. He doesn’t connect to it.” When Ak pointed out that Lamar has similar feelings toward Drake, Wilson argued. “I think a lot of people don’t like Drake but they all respect him. You can’t not respect the boy because of what he’s done.” Wilson also noted that both are “great” rappers. Check out the full conversation below.

Joe Budden Reacts To Drake’s “The Heart Part 6,” Declares Kendrick Lamar The Winner As “Drake Sounds Exhausted”

Joe Budden has been one of the biggest voices when it comes to the feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Overall, he has been caught recording podcasts whenever a new track drops. This happened last week with “Euphoria” and it also happened with “6:16 In LA.” However, we have yet to get a podcast from Budden that is centered on “Family Matters,” “Meet The Grahams,” and “Not Like Us.” In fact, we also got “The Heart Part 6” last night, which is making Budden’s job that much more difficult.

Throughout the weekend, Budden got to call into DJ Akademiks’ stream, where they got to debate all the shots that have been taken so far. Ultimately, Budden has been impressed with everything Kendrick Lamar has dropped. That said, it appears as though “The Heart Part 6” has left him completely overwhelmed. In the video below, Budden tells Akademiks that he is exhausted with the music being released right now. So much so that he kind of just wants this all to be over. He even gave the final tally to Kendrick, noting that Drake is essentially waving the white flag.

Joe Budden Speaks Out

“I’m over it… Drake sounds exhausted… I want the battle to end after Not Like Us… I learned today I like Drake on offense and not defense,” Joe said. This is a sentiment that has been shared by many in the hip-hop world. This past weekend was absolutely exhausting, and fans are kind of done with it. While it isn’t exactly the best outcome for Drake, there is no denying that he put up a solid fight. Now, it’s up to Kendrick to decide whether or not he will respond to Drizzy’s allegations. As it stands, fans would love for him to say at least something.

Overall, the vibes are wrecked beyond belief, with bots wreaking havoc on the website. However, he seems to be under the assumption that he has made things better. As it turns out, some big stories have been able to mask Twitter’s issues thanks to the incredible degree of engagement going on. The Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef is a prime example.
