DJ Akademiks Claims That Central Cee Is A Top 5 Relevant Rapper

Central Cee is a massive star. The UK rapper has been recording since 2014, but he blew up off the strength of his 2022 single “Doja.” It’s been one success after another for the rapper, who scored a number one UK single with “Sprinter” in 2023. It seems apparent that Central Cee is here to stay, and DJ Akademiks is one internet personality who is absolutely convinced. Akademiks not only praised Central Cee during a recent stream, but claimed Cee was one of the most relevant rappers in the world.

The bold proclamation was made on June 25. DJ Akademiks was trying to work out who the biggest rappers were in terms of success. Central Cee, in Ak’s not-so-humble opinion, trumps most of the U.S. names at the moment. The cultural implications were not lost on the streamer. “Is this the first time,” Ak asked his viewers. “That a UK rapper could arguably be in the top 5 of rap?” He asserted that if Cee was not already, then he will be very soon. “I think Central Cee might be knocking on that door,” he asserted. “Top 5 relevant, right now.”

Central Cee Is The First UK Rapper To Be A XXL Freshman

Viewers were quick to shoot down Ak’s ruling. That being said, Central Cee does have a lot going for him at the moment. He received a prestigious co-sign from Travis Scott in 2023, when the Texas rapper was seen dancing and rapping along to one of his tracks. Cee was the first UK rapper ever to land on the XXL Freshman List. He was also the first UK rapper to earn a billion streams in a single year on Spotify. These are not fluke achievements. The “Sprinter” hitmaker is doing, in many ways, what Bad Bunny did for the reggaeton genre during the first half of the decade.

Central Cee is keenly aware of American hip-hop. He told The Guardian that he listened to the greats when he was growing up, and attempting to bring a similar level of authenticity. “J Cole, Kendrick Lamar,” he recalled. “I had to go and listen to these people for the first time. Even Jay-Z. So that was a fun time, because everything was clicking. I just remember lightbulbs.” The rapper is adamant that he plans to stay true to his unique style, however. “When I rap, I’m in a neutral mood,” he said. “I can relate to everything, every emotion that I’ve ever felt.” Let’s see if DJ Akademiks’ claim proves true.

DJ Akademiks Points Out Foolio Fans Predicting His Death Under Pre-Shooting Instagram Post

Foolio’s tragic shooting at his birthday party in Tampa, Florida over the weekend shocked and saddened many fans, although some of them already had their reservations. Moreover, a lot of folks issued warnings and predicted that some extra caution would be necessary when he shared the address to his celebratory events on social media. In fact, DJ Akademiks recently went back to the rapper’s social media post showing the address and looked at comments from fans predicting that something horrible would happen. Of course, even the most skeptical and cold-blooded of spectators probably couldn’t have really predicted that we and the Florida native’s loved ones would face this loss.

Furthermore, Asian Doll recently caught flack for making light of Foolio’s death, as she tweeted and deleted a cigarette emoji after his passing. They had a lot of issues in the past, especially over Doll’s reaction to her then-boyfriend King Von’s shooting. Overall, it was a pretty nasty and distasteful situation either way, and the propagation of it didn’t make things any less nasty. Hopefully we see less responses like this in the public eye, and detractors and enemies respect those mourning the loss regardless of what their feelings might indicate.

DJ Akademiks Revisits Foolio’s Instagram Posts

Sadly, this triumphant reaction to Foolio’s death has been a big part of the social media discussion around it, led primarily by rap rival Yungeen Ace. He elicited some disturbed and flabbergasted reactions from fans after he dropped a diss track against him following his death, which many found to be in the poorest taste. Not only that, but Ace even insinuated that he ordered this, although that’s probably more of a result of rap beef boasting than actual criminal involvement. Either way, it’s not a pretty look to witness.

Meanwhile, new footage of the attack’s aftermath is also causing a lot of Internet debate and conversation. It’s a difficult event to witness, especially as conversations range more around how Foolio lived and not about how the hip-hop community can advocate against this violence. Regardless, folks will probably continue to discuss this tragedy in the coming days, and new information might surface as well. Hopefully any further developments are far more positive than what we’ve experienced.

DJ Akademiks Claims Kendrick Lamar’s Camp Told Him About Stream Botters

A lot of ink, stream time, and podcasting hours have been dedicated to stream botting accusations against both Kendrick Lamar and Drake amid their beef and diss track exchanges. Moreover, DJ Akademiks is one of the main people pushing this narrative against the Compton lyricist, although he stands by his sources. In fact, he recently claimed that K.Dot’s own camp was the one who came forward with these accusations, or at least, that Ak found this connection through that group. Of course, this is all highly speculative and largely unconfirmed in a truly verifiable manner, but there are deeper things to address.

For one, no accusations of stream botting can be attributed directly to Kendrick Lamar or Drake at press time. It’s the Internet: pretty much every engagement opportunity will fall victim to at least some fake streams or overzealous Twitter bots. But it’s impossible to pin these on either artist, and the more likely scenario is that this is the result of obsessive fans trying to send their GOAT to the top. Whether or not we ever get a final word on this debate, it’s clear that it’s an un-winnable battle either way.

DJ Akademiks Speaks On Kendrick Lamar Stream Bot Accusations

Furthermore, a lot of folks think that the battle is already over no matter what, and don’t really care about stream bots either way. After all, Kendrick Lamar will drop his “Not Like Us” music video soon, and Drake will deliver a few summer bops on Camila Cabello’s upcoming album. Both MCs will likely move on to their next endeavors after this while fans continue to debate and fight. But the warring Stanbases are fighting for their own dignity, pride, and credibility, and are no longer fighting for their leaders.

Meanwhile, these next moves from two of “The Big Three” should be very exciting nonetheless, and we’re ready to speak on them outside of the beef’s context. Kendrick Lamar and Drake are two generational titans that, stream bots or not, would still be making massive numbers with their releases. What remains is whether or not either artist will dare to speak on these or other allegations at some point. That might be the only way in which we can all finally shut up about this kerfuffle once and for all.

DJ Akademiks Claps Back At Joe Budden For Telling Him To Stop Covering Drake & Kendrick Lamar

DJ Akademiks says he refuses to stop covering Drake and his feud with Kendrick Lamar after Joe Budden and others in hip-hop media suggested he do so. Discussing Ak’s bias towards the Toronto rapper on a recent episode of his podcast, Budden argued that no one is buying what he’s been selling. “Ak is the one on stream during the NBA finals,” he said. “Good journalistic sh*t you was doing, but you gotta know that any Drake news coming from you is viewed through a different type of eye.”

Akademiks began his rant by arguing that there’s an ecosystem promoting the idea that Drake is washed up and Lamar is now the “king” of hip-hop. “I’m sorry, I listen to Kendrick like once a month. I listen to Drake everyday,” he remarked.

When Ak shared the livestream clip on X (formerly Twitter), fans had mixed responses to his take. One Drake fan brought up Kanye West’s attempt at joining in on the feud to defend the rapper. “So this what Kanye was talking about.. the elimination of Drake..,” they remarked. “So the industry all together came up with a plan to try to end drakes career.. No wonder they got people working for social media trying to convince people to hate Drake.. as well as 5 rappers plus Kendrick dissing.” Another countered: “Ak you letting ya own bias get in the way just shut up and people and say and speak on what they want and feel take the L.”

DJ Akademiks Causes Uproar By Putting Drake’s “OVO Fest” Above Kendrick Lamar’s “The Pop Out”

DJ Akademiks says that both Drake and J. Cole have been putting on festivals bigger for their respective cities in the form of OVO Fest and Dreamville Fest than Kendrick Lamar did with his acclaimed latest show, The Pop Out – Ken & Friends. He made the comments during a livestream clip he shared on social media, on Saturday.

“None of these n****s up here got a feature with Kendrick,” Akademiks began, while showing a clip from the end of The Pop Out. “And we don’t think they will ever get a feature with Kendrick. He has one concert in 15 years and brought these n****s on stage and n****s is saying he did the most.” From there, he brings up J. Cole hosting his Dreamville Festival and platforming younger artists as well as Drake doing the same with OVO Fest.

Many fans in the replies took issue with Akademiks’ take. One user wrote: “OVO Fest is not the same as the POP Out, the POP Out was West Coast honoring their identity, their fallen soldiers, and respecting each other’s differences and similarities of being the West Coast culture. It was also retaliation to a colonizer insulting their legends.” Another fan added: “Yall Drake n****s don’t know how to take an L and move on.” Check out Akademiks’ full comments on the matter below.

DJ Akademiks Speaks On Kendrick Lamar’s “The Pop Out”

Akademiks isn’t the first one to compare Lamar’s The Pop Out – Ken & Friends to Drake’s OVO Fest. When Complex shared a clip of Drake performing his Meek Mill diss track, “Back to Back,” at the event in 2015 users on social media debated whether the moment still hits as hard in the wake of the latest beef. Joe Budden Tells DJ Akademiks To Stop Reporting About Drake

Joe Budden is a polarizing figure in hip-hop media. He’s been called a hypocrite, especially with regards to his personal life. He’s also been called a hater, as seen in his infamous Lil Yachty interview. The former rapper does make some good points, however. He reflected on the Drake coverage that DJ Akademiks has been doing in recent weeks, and he sees a problem. In Budden’s estimation, Ak’s bias towards the 6 God has made him an unreliable source for fans.

Budden broke it down on an episode of the Joe Budden Podcast. He applauded DJ Akademiks for his journalism skills, but criticized the way Ak has shared it. He pointed to the recent bot allegations that were made against Kendrick Lamar during the NBA finals as a prime example. “Ak is the one on stream during the NBA finals,” Budden asserted. “Good journalistic sh*t you was doing, but you gotta know that any Drake news coming from you is viewed through a different type of eye.” The former Slaughterhouse member pointed to Ak’s relationship with Drake as the problem.

Joe Budden Tried To Give His Former Co-Host Advice

DJ Akademiks shared messages he got from Drake during the Kendrick Lamar battle. Drake even used a sample of Ak on the diss song “Push Ups.” Joe Budden correctly noted that whenever Ak tries to defend Drake, it will look like he’s being given orders by the rapper. “It comes off as a mission sent from Drake,” he explained. His advice to both DJ Akademiks and Drake is to take a couple plays off. Especially in the wake of Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert, which was an overwhelming success. “It’s too much to fight,” he added. “You’re gonna look away.”

Joe Budden ultimately urged DJ Akademiks to stop proselytizing on Drake’s behalf. “Ak is the mouth piece,” he complained. “As a Drake fan, I want Ak to stop announcing things about Drake… The Drake releases are much better as a surprise. Anything with Ak reporting it, it just looked a way.” Joe Budden wrapped up his statement by assuring fans that he has respect for DJ Akademiks. He did throw him a bit of a dig, however, when he said that Ak doesn’t care about criticisms because Drake is a “brand builder.” He’s not wrong.

DJ Akademiks Caught Deleting Tweet Claiming Dave Free & Whitney Alford Skipped Kendrick Lamar’s Show

DJ Akademiks has always made it crystal clear to his fans that Drake is his favorite artist. Overall, this was especially prevalent during Drake’s feud with Kendrick Lamar. Although fans were mostly on K-Dot’s side, Akademiks found himself defending Drizzy over and over again. Furthermore, there were multiple times when Akademiks’ reporting on his pages would lean one way. For instance, his Akademiks TV page was doing a whole lot of cheerleading last night.

If you follow the account, you probably saw all sorts of sarcastic tweets go out. It was a brutal display, and there was one instance where Ak got ahead of himself. In the tweet down below, you can see that a fan took a screenshot of a deleted Akademiks TV post. When you see the contents of the tweet, you will see why Ak took it down. Essentially, he claimed that Whitney Alford and Dave Free were not in attendance at the show. However, that was disproven by various videos in which Alford could be seen with her kids. Not to mention, Dave Free was heavily included in the credits.

DJ Akademiks Got Proven Wrong Incredibly Fast

Drake fans were in complete disarray last night. If the “OVO Community” has ever popped up on your timeline, you know they can do some damage. However, if you are a Kendrick fan, then you had yourself a pretty incredible night. For DJ Akademiks, it wasn’t the greatest. But that’s okay. It seems like Drake is looking to drop some music this summer. If you are a fan of the Canadian, all is not lost, at least for now.

DJ Akademiks Left In A State Of Dismay And Despair As Kendrick Lamar Performs His Drake Disses

DJ Akademiks has been firmly on the side of Drake during the feud with Kendrick Lamar. Overall, we have seen that time and time against with some of Ak’s comments. Furthermore, during last night’s “Pop Out” show, Ak was coming through with some truly biased tweets. It was pretty sad to watch go down, as you could see the narrative spin in real-time. Having said that, it was Akademiks’s stream that brought forth some truly hilarious gems.

Throughout the evening, Akademiks appeared to be in absolute disbelief at what he was seeing. Firstly, he was truly shocked by the fact that Tyler, The Creator was on stage. However, his disbelief grew larger as Kendrick opened his show with “Euphoria.” Subsequently, Kendrick changed up some lyrics in the song to take even more shots at Drake. Akademiks could not believe it and couldn’t help but put his hands in his head.

DJ Akademiks Was Not Happy

The reactions truly ramped up as Kendrick started to perform “Not Like Us.” Akademiks seemed to be on the verge of tears. Moreover, once he saw Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan on stage, he knew it was a wrap. Perhaps the funniest part of all of this is the fact that Akademiks was still vibing to the music. Overall, it just goes to show that “Not Like Us” is a truly undeniable track. Even Kendrick’s biggest haters can’t even pretend to hate that song.

Let us know what you think of these reactions from DJ Akademiks, in the comments section down below. Do you think that Akademiks might be a bit too invested with all of the Kendrick and Drake stuff? Do you feel like he might be compromised by OVO? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. DJ Akademiks Guest Claims He Was Paid To Boost Kendrick Lamar Streams

Just when fans thought they were out, DJ Akademiks pulls them back in. The internet personality had a stream on June 17, and he brought a guest on to discuss the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle. It wasn’t a debate over who won, or whether it would continue, though. It was an expose in which Ak’s guest alleged that he was paid by Kendrick Lamar’s manager, Anthony Saleh, to boost streaming numbers. He told DJ Akademiks that he inflated the amount of streams for Lamar’s number one single “Not Like Us.” He even showed the DJ how he did it.

The guest, who goes by the name “Epic,” immediately voiced fear for safety. “I’m crashing out,” he told Akademiks. “This is for my safety. This is how I feel… [Saleh] is who paid me.” He claimed to have never interacted with Saleh, but said the pgLang manager was who paid him to boost streams. “I wasn’t in direct contact with him, that’s just the name that was on the account I got paid by.” The guest then claimed that he would send proof to Akademiks. “They wanted me to do 30 million [streams] early,” he added. “I have payment proof, and I will DM that to you as long as you don’t expose it on stream.”

“Epic” Told DJ Akademiks That He Fears For His Safety

There hasn’t been anything to validate these claims. Kendrick Lamar’s streaming numbers have been a topic of discussion in recent months, though. The Compton rapper’s Spotify numbers were up 49% the first week of May, while Drake’s were down 5%. Drake also questioned the validity of Lamar’s numbers on his diss record, “Family Matters.” He even referred to “Anthony” in his verse, though it’s unclear if he meant Anthony Saleh or Lamar’s ex-manager, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith. “Anthony set up the plays, Kojo be chargin’ you double for nothin,” Drake spit. “They shook about what I’ma say, but textin’ your phone like, ‘We already won.’”

“Epic” also told DJ Akademiks that he boosted streams for the notable Twitch personality Adin Ross to make him appear more popular. He countered this by noting that other Twitch streamers like Kai Cenat and iShowSpeed didn’t have to rely on boosts to maintain their numbers. He then showed DJ Akademiks how he goes about “botting” social media accounts. Fans are split on the claims that “Epic” has made, but many have pointed out the irony of these streaming accusations being made against Kendrick Lamar on the rapper’s birthday.

Playboi Carti Might Drop Something Tonight, Swamp Izzo Claims In Response To DJ Akademiks’ Doubts

“Imma have to go find Playboi Carti again….” DJ Akademiks complained on Twitter over the weekend about the rapper’s mysterious absence despite multiple non-streaming singles in the past few months. “Last thing that n***a told me was ‘2024’ music … its half way thru the year …its finna be 2025 soon. they gave me two dates that dey aint stick to lol.” However, DJ Swamp Izzo came through in the comments of Ak’s IG repost of this tweet, and for those unaware, he’s apparently working closely with the Atlanta MC these days, even appearing on his track “Evil Jordan.” First, he posted a “soon” emoji, and then another comment that read “Fuk it TONIGHT,” lining up with Carti’s Summer Smash festival performance in Chicago tonight (Saturday, June 15).

Of course, we don’t really know what this means, nor whether or not Playboi Carti will actually drop something or just perform at the festival. Maybe he’ll finally give a date for the next release, put the whole thing out and shock the world, or the most likely scenario: nothing happens. After all, “King Vamp” is notoriously inconsistent when it comes to his presence, his promises, and his releases, although some recent hints and teases have fans’ hopes up again. We’ve got a couple of hours to theorize and prepare if you’re reading this soon after publishing.

DJ Swamp Izzo Suggests Playboi Carti Could Be Back Tonight

Meanwhile, Playboi Carti is also making the online rounds for less concerning and more bizarre reasons that seem out of nowhere. One of these is the animosity that metalcore artist Ronnie Radke has continuously shown him online over a merch dispute and more grievances. Knowing Carti’s online tendencies, we can’t imagine he’s getting very fast responses. So in the end, Radke might unfortunately be as frustrated as fans waiting on a new album.

Still, “FE!N” remains a hot track, there’s still a lot of hype around Playboi Carti’s IG singles, and we doubt that we’ll finish 2024 with absolutely nothing more from him. All we have to be is patient, which definitely disappoints a lot of fans out there. After all, he’s so close to dropping something that most of his die-hard fanbase will absolutely eat up. But there must be a reason behind all this, and whether it’s a good or bad one, we’re in no position of power to speed things up.
