Jeannie Mai says she found out about Jeezy filing for divorce at the same time as the rest of the world and was “gutted.” She reflected on the highly-publicized split during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Monday.
“Even though this year, I met the most broken version of me. I also met the strongest version of me,” she began. “It was kind of hard, so yeah, it’s what I’m dealing with day by day, you know?” she said of the divorce. “I think I’m doing better now.” She added: “So today, it’s about picking up the pieces. It’s about discovering me and being a mom to the best blessing in my life, my little girl.”

Mai further spoke about her relationship with her daughter, Monaco, who she and Jeezy welcomed in January 2022. In doing so, she revealed their holiday plans. “This year is the first time Monaco is going to come home to the Bay area for Christmas with me,” she said. “The thing I love about the Bay is there’s this earthy grit to my friends and the vibe in the Bay … the music sounds better, the food tastes better. And so Monaco is going to experience all of the cultures of the melting point that San Jose has.” She added that Monaco will get a better idea of Mai’s upbringing as the daughter of Vietnamese immigrants. Jeannie Mai Reflects On Finding Strength Amid Jeezy Divorce

Jeezy has disputed claims made by his ex-wife Jeannie Mai that he was unfaithful. If true, this would trigger the fidelity clause in their pre-nuptial agreement. “Any claims of infidelity on Mr. Jenkins’ behalf are 100 percent false and we have no further statements at this time. The statement was made by the rapper’s rep to US Weekly.
Jeezy was indirectly accused of infidelity by Jeannie Mai in recent court filings. “Wife reserves the right to amend this counterclaim to add other grounds for divorce. But which Wife does not wish to specify herein at this time in the hope this matter can be resolved without having to disclose such conduct publicly. Wife further shows that the Court should enforce Paragraph 8 of the Prenuptial Agreement. This regards infidelity which provides, in pertinent part, that in the event that either party engages in sexual relations, an emotional relationship, or is emotionally or sexually suggestive in communication with a third party via all forms of electronic communications, including but not limited to texting, sexting, Facetiming, social media and/or Direct Messages, shall result in a significant financial penalty upon the adulterous party,” the motion from Jeannie Mai read.
The once-seemingly perfect marriage between Jeezy and Jeannie Mai has devolved into an ugly divorce battle in the courts. This week, prior to Jeannie Mai’s infidelity allegations, Jeezy accused his ex-wife of “gatekeeping” their daughter. Furthermore, he also pushed for a more consistent custody schedule. “The lack of consistency, continuity, and stability inherently associated with such a haphazard and fluid parenting time schedule is stressful to the Child. And it has, as is unfortunately inevitable with all families in transition, created unnecessary tension and confusion regarding not only parenting time but also in regard to each parent’s role and rights when the Child is in their respective custody,” the filing read.
Additionally, Jeezy alleged that Jeannie Mai was doing this intentionally in order to sabotage his relationship with their daughter. “[Mai’s] interference with [Jeezy’s] relationship with the Child, again, while not generated from or with malicious intent, is nevertheless, causing confusion and tension between the parties and is working to stifle the development of [Jeezy’s] relationship with the Child,” the motion further reads.
Tensions only continue to rise between Mustard and his ex Chanel Thierry amid their divorce. Most recently, Thierry took to Threads to air her frustrations with the producer, suggesting that he turned down her request to spend time with their three kids during the holidays. She claimed that he’s jealous, controlling, bitter, and more, accusing him of only keeping her from their kids out of spite.
“Imagine not allowing a mother to see her kids on Christmas for the second year in the row is NASTY WORK,” she began. “Especially after they already expected to see her. Some of these men are more bitter then they appear. A true [clown emoji]. Bitter at this point is a understatement.”
“The irony of all of this is because your controlling a** couldn’t stand that TikTok and had to punish me some way some form,” she continued. “SICK IN THE HEAD ! A jealous BD ain’t nothing to under estimate. Mind yall I just told my mom. ‘My bday coming up, watch he gonna do his big one to rain on my parade’ typical jealous behavior.” Thierry’s most recent rant follows an October development in the estranged duo’s legal battle. He accused her of attempting to unlawfully obtain his financial information, demanding that she give him $10K.
Reportedly, she issued five subpoenas to his former employers, seeking documents that are not “relevant” to their own legal battle. Allegedly, she was looking for more information about his income in order to push for higher child support payments in court. “She will use an abusive discovery strategy to cause this divorce to last longer than the entire length of the marriage,” his filing reads. Elsewhere in his filing, Jeezy claims that the inconsistent custody schedule is getting in the way of his ability to develop a solid bond with Monaco. On November 22, 2023, additional information that was meant to be concealed, saw the light of day. After obtaining new legal documents, TMZ broke the news that Teyana Taylor secretly moved to end her marriage with Iman Shumpert. According to the documents, the “Gonna Love Me” singer made the move to divorce Shumpert in January 2023. Furthermore, details from the documents allege that the former basketball player was “treating her cruelly and displaying extreme narcissistic behavior throughout the majority of their marriage.”
In detail, Taylor accused him of being jealous of her fame, and feeling insecure about being with her. Sources tell TMZ that Taylor initially wanted to keep the case private for as long as possible. They shared that the singer used initials when she first filed the case. However, Shumpert allegedly opted to use their full names in his recent filing in the divorce proceedings. As a result, their identities were no longer hidden.
Subsequently, two days after the news broke, Taylor addressed it via an Instagram story. The content of the story read as follows: “I mind my business, don’t bother nobody & y’all know I’ve never played about my children, family & our privacy. I have not spoken on this private matter to any media outlets or blogs etc. So, everyone claiming ‘Teyana said’ didn’t get any statements directly from ME.”
She continued by expressing her hurt over her privacy being breached. “These statements were taken from private court documents that were leaked to the public. In a new report from TMZ, it has been revealed that the two are no longer living together. Instead, they are living in different places, and it is all because Taylor wants to protect her children and her peace. Overall, it is an unfortunate situation. Essentially, the former ballplayer didn’t like the fact that she was famous. Taylor describes how Shumpert would try to stop her from working and would then get mad at her for not making money. Tyrese has filed a motion to recuse Judge Kevin Farmer from the actor and singer’s ongoing divorce trial. According to court filings, Tyrese has claimed that Judge Farmer is prejudiced against him and has not granted Tyrese due process. The primary example of this cited in the filings is Farmer reportedly canceling a hearing and demanding an expedited 10-day payment of a $450,000 bond. Reportedly, the canceled hearing would have seen Tyrese explain why he would be unable to source that amount of money in such a short amount of time.
According to the court docs, the months-long SAG-AFTRA strike deeply affected his income for the year so far. However, at least according to him, the hearing was canceled just days before it was supposed to happen. Furthermore, the actor claimed that he was not given a reason why the hearing was canceled. All of this has been provided as evidence that Judge Farmer is not giving Tyrese a fair trial. However, this is not the first time that Tyrese has tried to get Judge Farmer recused. The actor mounted an unsuccessful effort to do so last year.
Tyrese Gibson has asked that a new judge be put on his divorce case with ex, Samantha Lee, as he claims Superior Court Judge Kevin M. Farmer is biased against him.
However, the legal issues just keep mounting for Tyrese. The actor has been served with a $25K lawsuit for “unauthorized alterations” to an Airbnb he recently stayed in. Tiffanique Webb claims that he made alterations “well in excess” of the $500 security deposit and that the property is now “unrentable” to other guests until Webb is able to repair the damage left by the actor and singer. Webb’s documents did not specify the nature of the altercations. However, she filed her suit with the Supreme Court of California.
Furthermore, Tyrese is also in a bitter legal battle with Home Depot. The actor sued the hardware chain for $1 million, arguing that they racially discriminated against two of his associates. After Home Depot publicly responded, the actor went after the company CEO’s public support of Donald Trump. However, the future of the case looks murky after the company revealed they had surveillance footage of Tyrese’s purported interaction with the discriminatory cashier.
