Kendrick Lamar’s Last-Minute Tecate Pa’l Norte Cancellation Leaves Fans Disappointed

Kendrick Lamar was previously scheduled to headline Tecate Pa’l Norte on Friday (March 29), but ended up canceling the show last minute. The announcement arrived only hours before he was expected to hit the stage. The music festival takes place annually at the Parque Fundidora in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. Organizers shared the unfortunate news in an official statement.

“For unforeseen circumstances due to logistical issues out of Tecate Pal Norte’s organization — we’re sorry to announce that Kendrick Lamar won’t be able to perform tonight at the festival,” the statement reads. Kendrick was scheduled to perform after Peso Pluma, who extended his show in an attempt to make up for the rapper’s absence. “We appreciate Peso Pluma for extending his showtime. Deorro will be closing Tecate Light Stage. The programmed shows of the Festival will run as planned,” the festival also told attendees.

As expected, festivalgoers were pretty disappointed that Kendrick didn’t perform. The comments section of a Reddit post about the cancelation is flooded with fans demanding an explanation, which he’s yet to provide aside from a repost of the festival’s announcement on his Instagram Story. “Explain yourself kdot,” one user urges, with another saying they “hate when this happens.” Several commenters are also speculating about what could have caused the last-minute cancelation. While some think pay might have been the problem, others joke that his recent Drake diss on “Like That” with Future and Metro Boomin left him afraid to show his face.

Sexyy Red Claims She’s Under Surveillance In Mexico, Earns First Solo Apple Chart No. 1

Sexyy Red has accused Mexican law enforcement of surveilling her ever since she entered the country. Red has claimed she was pulled over multiple times and there have been drones spotted over her hotel. Mexican law enforcement is yet to comment on the claims. It is unclear why Red would be under surveillance. However, the rapper is clearly agitated by the alleged attention.

Meanwhile, Red also secured her first solo No. 1 on the Apple Music charts with her new single “Get It Sexyy”. It is the second time she has hit No. 1 on the chart, with the first being as a feature on Drake’s “Rich Baby Daddy”. “Get It Sexyy” is yet to debut on the Billboard Hot 100. However, its strong performance on the Apple chart should be a positive indication as to where it could land with Billboard. Red is expected to drop an album later this year amid a big summer of music releases.

Elsewhere, Red recently revealed her desire to make a TV cameo, tweeting out “How I get on Abbott Elementary?” The show, created by and starring Quinta Brunson, centers around a fictional underfunded Philadelphia elementary school. However, the show’s third season included an unexpected time jump after Brunson’s character left Abbott to accept an administrative role with the school district. It wouldn’t be the show’s first musical cameo. Season 3 also included a multi-episode arc centered on Vince Staples.

Furthermore, Red’s desire to land TV spots is in line with a career plan she shared with Billboard last year. “I’m going to just be getting richer, bigger, more trendier. I’m going to be everywhere. And I’m going to be in it for the long haul, [but] not even on purpose, though. Even if I try to stop rapping, they’re going to take some sh-t, turn it into something. Put me on the blogs, make it something it doesn’t even have to be, so Imma be here for a minute,” Red declared.

Jamie Foxx was loving it up in Cabos this week. The actor was spotted with his girlfriend, Alyce Huckstepp, over the weekend grabbing a bite to eat on the Baja Peninsula. However, the cameras also caught the couple stealing a couple of kisses during the intimate meal. The pair have been dating for a while and have been spotted out with friends around LA over the last two months or so. Foxx has spent most of September enjoying various vacation spots in Mexico.

However, not everything is as serene as their paradise vacation. A number of Foxx’s friends are worried that he’s rushing into things with Huckstepp. According to various sources, Foxx is already considering marrying her. While Foxx may feel good about this, some of his friends reportedly believe he’s rushing into things as a result of his medical scare earlier in the year.

Foxx Has a Busy Workload

While he appears to be enjoying an extended vacation in Mexico, Foxx is also reportedly extremely busy with ongoing projects. The one Jamie Foxx project that could be out this year is Not Another Church Movie. The cast includes Mickey Rourke and Vivica A. Fox and sees Rourke and Foxx battle it out as the Devil and God respectively. Recently, a trailer dropped for courtroom drama, The Burial. Foxx plays a smooth-talking lawyer in the mid-90s who must defend a family-owned funeral home. Additionally, there is another legal biopic Signal Hill. Reportedly in post-production, it stars Anthony Mackie as civil rights lawyer Johnny Cochran, best known for leading OJ Simpson’s legal team. Foxx reportedly plays Black Panthers leader Elmer ‘Geronimo’ Pratt.

Aside from those films, Foxx has several more projects with more unknown statuses. Tin Soldiers sees Foxx play a man who runs an outreach program for military veterans which quickly becomes sinister. Meanwhile, Foxx is reportedly doing voice work for Groove Tails, which focuses on a competitive street dancing circuit for mice. Furthermore, Foxx is linked to a remake of the 1968 western The Wild Bunch alongside Michael Fassbender and Peter Dinklage. Finally, Foxx is also linked to a TV series about the career of Mike Tyson. However, that remains in limbo as Tyson has objected to the casting of Foxx. Additionally, the Mail lists a ninth project – All-Star Weekend. However, that film was wrapped in 2016 and was officially shelved in 2022 over concerns about offensive content in the film.

Peso Pluma has recently been the subject of major headlines. The Mexican singer and rapper canceled his upcoming Tijuana concert following threats from a drug cartel. Last week, people spotted banners containing threats directed towards Peso Pluma. These banners warned him to “refrain from appearing this October 14,” they read in Spanish. The New York Times reported that the banners “were signed with the initials of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel,” known for being “one of Mexico’s most powerful drug cartels and a rival of El Chapo’s Sinaloa Cartel.” This is also not the first time that Peso Pluma has had to cancel a concert in Tijuana.

Peso Pluma is set to resume his debut headline tour of North America next week. The Mexican singer and rapper is currently in the spotlight more than ever before, reaching mainstream audiences and commercial success this year. He is currently one of the most popular and in-demand in the contemporary Latin music scene. Today, we are looking into Peso Pluma’s career and journey so far.

A Rising Star

Peso Pluma is leading the charge for the regional Mexican style of corridos tumbados. The genre combines traditional corridos with Latin urban music. With international appeal that has allowed him to cross over to American audiences, the 24-year-old rapper and singer is now one of the biggest Mexican artists. Peso Pluma got his start in 2020 when he released his debut studio album, Ah y Qué. Not long after, he came right back with his second album, 2021’s Efectos Secundarios. Both of these releases established Peso Pluma’s distinct sound, positioning his future takeover of not only Mexico but the United States and Latin America.

Peso Pluma And Narco Culture

Many of Peso Pluma’s songs tackle subjects of narco culture and the overall presence of drug cartels in Mexico. The video for his 2022 hit single, “El Belicón” saw him and Raul Vega depicting this presence before going viral on social media and entering the Billboard charts. That same year, his song “Siempre Pendientes” gained controversial attention due to its lyrics that directly glorified El Chapo, mentioning the drug lord by name. The song not only received backlash from law enforcement, but also from Chapo’s rivals, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. Peso defended his lyrics and even used the response to his advantage as the song performed well on the Billboard charts. The relationship between corridos tumbados and narco culture is clearly a contentious one, but Peso Pluma has been able to thrive as an artist and continuously rise in popularity.

Peso Pluma Is Having His Moment

Peso Pluma’s first tasted mainstream success this year as he rapidly rose to the top of the charts. His song “AMG” marked his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and his first No. 1 single on the Hot Latin Songs chart. The consecutive success of songs like “PRC,” “El Hechizo,” “Por Las Noches,” and “Ella Baila Sola” led to his achievement of having the most Spanish-language songs on the Hot 100 for any Mexican artist. Peso Pluma has also been actively performing at major events and award shows. Becky G brought him out at both this year’s Coachella and the Latin American Music Awards to perform their hit single, “Chanel.” Additionally, he recently performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and the MTV Video Music Awards, becoming the first regional Mexican artist to do so.

With the release of his third studio album, Génesis and the launch of his own independent record label, Double P Records, it is safe to say that 2023 has been Peso Pluma’s year. He has racked up many accolades, platinum hits, and a whopping 21 different nominations at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards. His headlining tour has helped increase his visibility, even with the cancellation of his Tijuana show. Peso Pluma is certainly having his moment this year, but it seems that he is only just getting started.

Sergio Brown Posts Concerning Video Quoting “Finding Nemo” Amid Mother’s Death Investigation

The story surrounding former NFL backup safety Sergio Brown has taken another strange turn. Brown posted a video to his Instagram story, geotagged at the Sydney Opera House. In the video, Brown quotes the animated film Finding Nemo while appearing to be in a bar or a similar setting. The video has gone viral on social media, with many viewers deeming it to be a “manic episode”.

Brown, who retired from the NFL after the 2016 season, has been thrust into the national spotlight in recent days. On September 16, family members reported him and his mother missing. His mother, Myrtle, was later found deceased beside a creek near her house. Her death was subsequently ruled a homicide. Meanwhile, Brown posted a video on September 18 that appeared to show that he was in Mexico City. During that video, he claimed that he had been kidnapped by law enforcement and believed his mother to be on vacation. While Brown claims to be in Mexico, the geotag on his Finding Nemo video shows that Instagram location tags can be faked.

However, the videos from Brown are not the only evidence that has come to light in recent days. Neighbors in Maywood, Illinois claim to have provided law enforcement with video evidence that shows Brown burning his mother’s clothes. While the recency of this footage is unknown, the neighbors also claimed that the 35-year-old Brown had been “acting out of his mind” in recent months.

Brown went undrafted out of Notre Dame in 2010 but was signed as a free agent by the Patriots. He played 94 games in his career, primarily as a backup. As well as the Patriots, he spent time with the Colts, Jags, and Bills. He retired after the 2016 season. He finished his career with 144 tackles. Brown is listed as being 6″2 and weighing 207 lb. In 2022, Spears confirmed that she became an atheist as a result of the abuse that she faced at the hands of her family. “God would not allow that to happen to me if a God existed,” she said, referring to her 13-year conservatorship which ended last year. “I don’t believe in God anymore because of the way my children and my family have treated me. Jamie Foxx has headed south of the border, jetting off on vacation in the beautiful Mexican city of Tulum. Tulum is a pre-Mayan walled city with beautiful beaches, amazing history, and world-famous swimming holes. Foxx was spotted enjoying said swimming holes in photos published by various online outlets.

The vacation comes just five months after the actor was suddenly hospitalized in April while on the set of his upcoming Netflix film, Back In Action. It was the latest in a long series of issues that had hampered production. Furthermore, the coverage of Foxx’s hospitalization was a mess, with Foxx seemingly both on the verge of death and recovering well. After many conflicting reports about his status, his daughter revealed in mid-May that he had been out of the hospital for several weeks.

Foxx Speaks On Health From Vacation
