Diddy Breaks Social Media Silence with Kim Porter Birthday Wish: ‘Love Forever’

Diddy Breaks Social Media Silence with Kim Porter Birthday Wish

Diddy broke his social media silence to deliver a message to a message to Kim Porter on her birthday. “We miss you so much Kim! Happy Birthday Beautiful! Love forever,” Diddy wrote. The message was shared on both X and Instagram.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Diddy’s reality show planned for Hulu was scrapped. According to Variety, Diddy +7 was produced by James Corden’s production company Fulwell 73 but was scrapped following multiple lawsuits against Combs.

Earlier in the month, another woman sued Diddy, stating she was sex trafficked and gang-raped while she was a 17-year-old high school student.

According to TMZ, the anonymous accuser stated Bad Boy Entertainment President Harve Pierre met her in 2003 in Detroit. Pierre stated she was “hot,” name-dropped Diddy, and flew her to meet him in NYC. The woman stated she met Diddy in a recording studio and sat on his lap during the session, indulging in drugs and alcohol. The accuser supplied images from the alleged meeting.

She states that everything was a blur following the substances, and she remembered nonconsensual sex in the bathroom with Diddy, followed by Pierre and another man. She states she was left in the fetal position and eventually flown back to Michigan, suffering in silence for 20 years but finding the courage to speak out after Cassie’s lawsuit.

In response, Diddy stated to TMZ, “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy.

“Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”

Previously, Pierre had been sued for grooming and sexually assaulting his assistant. The lawsuit states Pierre’s allegations by his assistant occurred “on multiple occasions in New York City and other locations throughout the country” and “used his position of authority as plaintiff’s boss to groom, exploit, and sexually assault her.”

The assistant now seeks damages that will “fully and fairly compensate” the assault. Bad Boy Entertainment, Bad Boy Records, and Combs Enterprises are listed in the suit.

“We have recently become aware of a lawsuit filed in New York by a former employee,” a spokesperson for Bad Boy Records said to Rolling Stone. “The allegations are from many years ago that were never brought to the attention of the company. Neither the plaintiff nor the executive are current employees of the company. We are now investigating the allegations, and our top priority is the safety and well-being of our employees.”

That development came less than a week after Diddy settled a lawsuit with Cassie over accusations that included domestic violence and rape. According to TMZ, the suit was ended in New York on Monday. The doc reads, “Pursuant to an agreement between the parties, Plaintiff hereby dismisses this action, with prejudice and without costs or fees to either party.”

Shortly after news of the lawsuit rattled the world on Thursday, Diddy and Cassie settled the lawsuit on Friday.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Cassie said after the settlement. “I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

For the first time since settling his lawsuit with his ex-lover, singer Cassie, Diddy has been spotted. He was spotted outside his Star Island Miami mansion, beside his chief of staff, with his face buried in his hands.

After settling with Cassie following her explosive allegations. Ben Brafman, Diddy’s lawyer, shared a statement:

“Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing. Mr. Combs‘ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.”

Diddy was sued by his former lover Cassie, stating she was rapped and sex trafficked during their relationship. Cassie, born Casandra Ventura, filed the suit in New York City, stating she was the victim of a “cycle of abuse, violence and sex trafficking.

What Brands Left Diddy’s Empower Global Marketplace After Cassie’s Sexual Assault Lawsuit?

18 brands have dropped partnerships with Sean “Diddy” Combs in the past month, after the music mogul’s ex-girlfriend, “Me & U” singer Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit against him alleging he’d abused her and raped her throughout their decade-long, off-and-on relationship, according to Rolling Stone. Diddy and Cassie settled the lawsuit less than 24 hours after the news broke, but since then, more lawsuits have emerged alleging similar misconduct, prompting Diddy — who denied all the allegations and called the later lawsuits “money grabs” through his attorneys — to step down from his leadership role at media company Revolt, which he’d co-founded in 2013.

Below, you can read more about which companies have ended their business partnerships with Diddy, mainly through their membership in his recently launched marketplace, Empower Global — a sort of Amazon for Black-owned companies.

Fulaba

Fulaba’s Haby Barry said she believed Cassie as well as the other accusers, so her jewelry brand “will not associate with anything or anyone that is counter to our values,” which are “all about empowering women and girls.”

House of Takura

A luxury bag company employing artisans in Africa with prints inspired by the local cultures, House of Takura was launched in 2015 by Sierra Leonan immigrant Annette Njau. She told Rolling Stone, “This decision was made on the day that Casandra Ventura filed her lawsuit. We take the allegations against Mr. Combs very seriously and find such behavior abhorrent and intolerable. We believe in victims’ rights, and support victims in speaking their truth, even against the most powerful of people.”

Nuudii System

Nuudii System was founded in 2011 by Annette Azan to offer shapewear that actually embraces womens’ natural shapes rather than change them. Azan also said that she pulled her brand from Empower upon finding out about the initial allegations.

No One Clothiers

Based in Los Angeles, this brand sells high-end shirts, pants, and hats designed to invoke the durability of workwear with the fashion-forward elements of streetwear. Its co-founder Lenard Grier said of the decision to leave Empower Global: “While this decision was difficult due [to] the reverence we once held for Mr. Combs as a leader in business and entertainment, it was clearly the correct choice. Our brand is founded on the belief that every individual is important and worthy of respect, regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, etc. The allegations against Mr. Combs are in direct conflict with these beliefs. In turn, we felt a moral imperative to end our relationship.”

Tsuri

Ashli Goudelock founded her skin-care line with the intention of creating “spa-like experiences from the comfort of your home.” She credits her decision to break from Diddy an obligation “as women-owned and -led company,” saying, “we do not and will not linger in a gray area about the mistreatment of women.”

Diddy’s Hulu Reality Series Canceled Amid Sexual Assault Allegations

Diddy

Diddy faces another setback as his highly anticipated reality series on Hulu, titled Diddy + 7, has been abruptly canceled. The news follows after a flood of sexual assault allegations were raised against the hip-hop mogul.

‘Diddy + 7’ Comes To A Halt

Recent reports have revealed that Diddy + 7 has officially been pulled by Hulu. The decision comes in the wake of multiple sexual assault allegations against Diddy.

Despite being in the early stages of development, the show, which aimed to offer an intimate look into the Bad Boy CEO’s life as he navigates fatherhood with his seven children, will no longer see the light of day.

Hulu Pulls The Plug

The reality show, initially produced by James Corden’s production company Fulwell 73, was expected to shed light on Diddy’s personal life and provide glimpses into his day-to-day activities with his children. However, following the emergence of various lawsuits alleging sexual assault, Hulu decided to pull the plug on the show’s production.

Users on Twitter (X) reacted to the news of Diddy’s show being scrapped. One user named @JohnTheefame commented “Who the hell wanted to watch that anyways. No thanks.” Another user named @xpressakadjxp joked by commenting, “Funny enough…this would be the perfect time for the reality show.”

Diddy’s troubles began when his ex-girlfriend Cassie accused him of sexual and physical abuse.

The Allegations

These serious allegations were soon followed by further claims, including accusations from two women in the 1990s who alleged Diddy’s involvement in sexual assault. Another woman came forward, accusing Diddy of raping her when she was a teenager in 2003.

Diddy’s Family Reality Show Has Reportedly Been Canceled By Hulu Amid His Sexual Assault Lawsuits

There has been an avalanche piling atop Diddy since Cassie filed her extremely eye-opening and lengthy lawsuit in Manhattan Federal District Court on November 16. Diddy reached a settlement with her the following day, though he maintained his innocence. Three other lawsuits have followed, and on December 6, he vehemently denied all allegations with his only public statement to this point. Regardless, Hulu is the latest entity to cut ties with him.

On Wednesday night, December 13, Rolling Stone exclusively reported that Hulu has scrapped “a reality show centered around Sean Combs and his family,” which was in the works under the title Diddy+7 and being produced by James Corden’s Fulwell 73.

“While Combs was reportedly spotted with camera crews several times earlier this year, the show was still in ‘nascent stages,’ according to a source with knowledge of the situation,” Cheyenne Roundtree and Nancy Dillon wrote for Rolling Stone. “It’s unclear when the decision to shelve the entire project was made.”

Rolling Stone previously reported on December 10 that “a total of 18 brands have confirmed to Rolling Stone that they have severed ties” with Diddy’s newly launched Empower Global, an e-commerce marketplace for Black-owned businesses. This comes after Revolt announced Diddy had “stepped down from his position of Chairman at Revolt,” the media company he co-founded in 2013.

Diddy’s nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album at the 2024 Grammys is also up in the air, as The Recording Academy provided a statement to Rolling Stone this week, reading, “We are taking this matter very seriously, and we are in the process of evaluating it with the time and care that it deserves.”

Why Did Mase Fall Out With Diddy?

Diddy has been in the news constantly in the past several weeks, regarding several salacious improprieties in both his business and personal relationships. While it’s no secret that misfortune has befallen many of Diddy’s known collaborators, Mase has remained one of the most fascinating figures in the rap mogul’s orbit. Mase has been lucky enough to escape from his tumultuous tenure at Bad Boy records. However, the prolific performing artist has maintained a years-long feud with Diddy, mostly due to financial and business disagreements.

Mase Attempts To Leave Bad Boy

Mase first quit music in 1999 to pursue his newfound passion as a minister. During his time at the Bad Boy label, several unfortunate events transpired which prompted the “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down” rapper to find God. Some of these events may include the violent and untimely death of labelmate The Notorious B.I.G. in 1997. At the time, the Bad Boy label also dealt with a number of legal issues, leading to the incarceration of several artists. Shyne, for instance, faced a conviction for armed assault in connection to a 1999 shooting incident.

Mase came out of retirement on two occasions. Once in 2004 with an album titled Welcome Back, and again in 2009 with a non-album single titled “Get It” and later, Double Up. Unfortunately, his 2009 reemergence was halted by label antics, prompting Mase to crash Diddy’s live radio interview with V103’s Ryan Cameron. Mase stormed into the interview, armed with documents that the rapper claims absolved him from his label requirements, allowing him to function as a free agent. Diddy allegedly signed the documents, allowing Mase to perform as a featured artist on other rappers’ songs. It was later revealed, however, that Bad Boy Records had kept the publishing rights to all of Mase’s music, retaining control over the minister’s career on the mic.

The Beef Escalated Over The Years

In the years since the initial spat, Diddy and Mase have each taken public shots at one another. In 2020, Mase took to Instagram to lament that Diddy refused to sell him back his publishing rights, even going so far as to claim that he offered the mogul over $2 million for the entire catalog. The rapper-turned-minister even put his frustration on wax in a 2022 track titled “Oracle 2: The Liberation of Mason Betha.”

In the track, Mase raps “Yeah, I’m just a Harlem n***a reppin’ down a Vegas strip with my own Suge. You from Mt. Vernon, n***a, go and rep your own hood… You ain’t no architect, you just a n***a who know how to market death.” Diddy reacted to the track by branding Mase a “fake pastor.” He also asserted that Mase still owed the label a $3 million album advance for a project that he never delivered.

The Beef Is Over… For Now

As of this writing, the most recent update in the ongoing Mase vs. Diddy saga came in September of 2023, when Diddy claimed the pair had made up. During a Billboard interview, Diddy stated, “You know, we’re brothers and brothers fight. I love him and that’s it,” in response to a query about whether the two had reconciled. Of course, we’ve heard the pair sing this tune before, so there’s no telling if and when this beef could heat up again.

50 Cent Takes Yet Another Shot At Diddy With A.I. Generated Tupac Photo

A few months ago a man was finally arrested over the murder of Tupac Shakur more than 25 years ago. Because of his long-rumored vague association with the slaying, that opened Diddy up to some scrutiny online. Nobody was quicker to scrutinize the rap mogul than 50 Cent, who reignited a beef between the two. But if Diddy thought that was bad, he probably wasn’t ready for what followed.

Last month, singer Cassie filed a lawsuit against Diddy making some pretty serious allegations of abuse against the rapper. Though that case was settled relatively quickly it turned out to be just the first in a series of lawsuits. The very serious subject matter at hand did stop a lot of people from joking about the issue. But one person it hasn’t stopped is 50 Cent. 50 has gone on an unrelenting trolling campaign targeting Diddy with jokes, funny photoshops, and even a few genuine claims on his Instagram. In the best moments of his trolling campaign, he’s expressed interest in making a documentary about the allegations against Diddy with the proceeds going to sexual assault victims. He’s also claimed interest in taking on a role at Revolt following Diddy’s departure from the company in the way of the recent allegations. Check out his newest attack below.

50 Cent Going After Diddy Again

In his newest jab at Diddy, 50 Cent made use of new AI technology. He had an artificial intelligence create a photo of him and Tupac in a studio together taking a selfie. “Karma is a mother f*cker brother love, brother love, brother love,” 50 captioned the post, continuing to not be shy about who he’s taking aim at.

Throughout 2023 50 has been on The Final Lap tour with Busta Rhymes. The massive undertaking has seen 50 travel all around the world playing hype shows. What do you think of 50 Cent’s newest shots at Diddy? Do you think he should follow through on his promise to make a documentary about the allegations against the rap mogul? Let us know in the comment section below.

50 Cent’s Ongoing Troll Campaign Against Diddy Took A Creepy Turn With An AI Photo Of Tupac

One wonders sometimes how 50 Cent keeps up with all of his feuds (seriously, finish reading this, then Google “Uproxx 50 Cent trolls” to see just how often we have had to write those exact words). He’s currently juggling a few, but in recent months, he’s put Ja Rule and Rick Ross on the backburner to focus pretty heavily on rival mogul Diddy.

Now, who knows what Diddy did to draw 50’s ire (maybe he cut him off in a parking lot once), but he’s been going HARD since October, taking a shot at Diddy’s famous parties and resurrecting the rumor that Diddy was behind Tupac’s death. But after Diddy was sued by Cassie for abuse and sexual assault, 50 has gone into overdrive, reportedly launching development of a documentary about the allegations and jokingly offering to buy Diddy’s media company Revolt on Twitter.

Most recently, he again invoked Tupac, this time with a bizarre AI photo of himself hanging out in the studio with the deceased rapper. In the caption, he wrote: “Karma is a mother fvcker brother love, brother love, brother love,” — a reference to Diddy’s 2017 announcement he was again changing his name to “Brother Love.” While that didn’t pan out, of course 50 Cent, who’s got the memory of an elephant, would recall it and use it against him. While the trip to the uncanny valley probably wasn’t completely necessary, it shows just how hard he works on his beef.

Downfall of Diddy: Recording Academy Says They’re ‘Evaluating’ Mogul’s Grammy Invite

Diddy

The Recording Academy has finally spoken out about the controversy surrounding Diddy’s invite to the 2024 Grammys. The organization’s recent statement follows after several sexual assault allegations were raised against the Bad Boy CEO.

‘We Are Taking This Matter Very Seriously’

The Recording Academy, which oversees the Grammys, released an official statement on December 11 regarding Diddy’s invite to the 2024 Grammys, which will take place on February 4, 2024.

“We are taking this matter very seriously and we are in the process of evaluating it with the time and care that it deserves,” the organization said in a statement to Rolling Stone.

The statement provides some clarity on the situation but leaves unanswered questions about the fate of Diddy’s nomination in the “Best Progressive R&B Album” category for his project The Love Album: Off the Grid. Diddy has faced multiple sexual assault allegations, adding to the controversy surrounding his invite.

The Allegations

In November 2023, his former girlfriend Cassie accused him of sexual assault and abuse, although the lawsuit was settled just a day later. Furthermore, two other women came forward, alleging that the hip-hop mogul had sexually assaulted them in the 1990s.

Additionally, a teenage girl claimed that he had raped her in 2003. These allegations have cast a dark cloud over Diddy’s reputation and have sparked widespread concern within the music industry.

Despite the severity of the allegations, the Grammys’ statement marks the organization’s first public acknowledgment of the situation. The decision regarding Diddy’s invite has become a pressing question as the Grammy night approaches.

Diddy’s E-Commerce Platform ‘Empower Global’ Loses 18 Business Partners

After a flood of sexual abuse allegations, Diddy is facing another major setback. A total of 18 businesses have reportedly decided to sever their relationships with the hip-hop mogul’s e-commerce platform, Empower Global.

Cutting Ties

Following a surge of sexual abuse accusations, Diddy, also known as Sean “Diddy” Combs, has encountered yet another significant obstacle.

Several businesses have decided to terminate their association with Diddy’s e-commerce platform, Empower Global. The platform, designed to support black-owned businesses, was launched in July 2023.

However, following a series of sexual abuse allegations against Diddy, these businesses have decided to cut ties. The decision to part ways with Empower Global came after Cassie Ventura, also known as Cassie, Diddy’s former girlfriend, filed a lawsuit against him on November 16, 2023.

‘We Will Not Associate With Anything Or Anyone That Is Counter To Our Values’

This lawsuit, along with the other sexual abuse claims, has led businesses like House of Takura and Fulaba to make the difficult decision to distance themselves from Diddy. Annette Njau, founder of House of Takura, stated:

“This decision was made on the day that Casandra Ventura filed her lawsuit, We take the allegations against Mr. Combs very seriously and find such behavior abhorrent and intolerable. We believe in victims’ rights, and support victims in speaking their truth, even against the most powerful of people. Haby Barry, founder of Fulaba, echoed this sentiment, saying “Fulaba is all about empowering women and girls. We will not associate with anything or anyone that is counter to our values.”

Social media users have reacted to the news, where one user named @TPrintress wrote, “This is for every artist he stole from and allowed to starve while he and his family lived like royalty off of THE ARTIST’S hard work.” Another user named @hartofamerica76 wrote, “In light of this, find out who these 18 and growing Black-owned businesses are and support them. Don’t allow Diddy to negatively ruin more Black lives. I applaud them for taking moral stands.”

‘These Harrowing Allegations Have Expedited Our Decision’

According to Rolling Stone, Diddy invested over $20 million in Empower Global. Additionally, the e-commerce platform required sellers to pay a $35 monthly subscription fee and a 10% cut of sales as a marketplace fee.

However, the shocking sexual abuse allegations and the platform’s alleged lackluster performance have prompted some brands to terminate their relationships with Diddy. Rebecca Allen, founder of a luxury footwear brand, mentioned:

“We enjoyed working with the team, but have not seen meaningful sales, so we were already planning to terminate our relationship at the end of this year. These harrowing allegations have expedited our decision, and we ended our partnership with Empower Global earlier this month.”

The Downfall Of Diddy: Harlem Charter School Ends Partnership

After a flood of lawsuits, Diddy has suffered another blow to his reputation. Capital Prep Harlem, a charter school the hip-hop mogul helped launch in 2016, has announced the end of its partnership with him.

Capital Prep Harlem Cuts Ties With Diddy

Amidst a series of legal challenges, Diddy faces another hit to his reputation with a new development in an ongoing legal battle.

Capital Prep Harlem’s decision comes amidst the latest sexual assault allegations against the Bad Boy CEO, including accusations from his former girlfriend Cassie and two other women from the 1990s. This development adds to the ongoing scrutiny surrounding the influential entrepreneur and music producer.

Capital Prep Harlem Issues A Statement

Capital Prep Harlem, a public, tuition-free charter school providing a college preparatory education rooted in social justice, released a statement on November 29, revealing their decision to sever ties with Diddy. Dr. Steve Perry, the founder of Capital Preparatory Schools, addressed the partnership termination, stating:

“Following a comprehensive evaluation, a decision has been made to end the partnership between Capital Preparatory Schools and Sean Combs. While this decision was not made lightly, we firmly believe it is in the best interest of our organization’s health and future.” The school’s move is seen as a significant blow to Diddy’s philanthropic endeavors.

Diddy had played a pivotal role in the establishment of Capital Prep Harlem and had even donated $1 million in 2021 to support the school’s Bronx location.

Diddy’s Downfall

However, shortly after he announced his temporary step down as the chairman of REVOLT, the school decided to sever ties with him.

The sexual assault allegations against Diddy and the subsequent controversy seem to have influenced the school’s decision. Despite the school’s announcement, Diddy has remained silent about Capital Prep Harlem’s decision to end their partnership.

The Downfall Of Diddy

Cassie’s lawsuit against Diddy may have been settled, but it’s not quite settled in the hip-hop mogul’s empire. Diddy has recently stepped down from the REVOLT chairmanship and lost a significant number of deals and brand cache.

‘Sean Combs Has Stepped Down’

Diddy’s resignation as REVOLT Chairman, announced on November 28, 2023, has left many wondering why his decision was made. On Instagram, REVOLT TV released a statement:

“Sean Combs has stepped down from his position as Chairman of REVOLT. While Mr. Combs has previously had no operational or day-to-day role in business, this decision helps ensure that REVOLT remains steadfastly focused on our mission to create meaningful content for the culture and amplify the voices of all Black people throughout this country and the African diaspora. Our focus has always been one that reflects our commitment to the collective journey of REVOLT – one that is not driven by any individual, but by the shared efforts and values of our entire team on behalf of advancing, elevating and championing our culture – and that continues.”

Preceding this, on Nov. 16, Diddy encountered significant legal issues stemming from a lawsuit filed by R&B singer and former girlfriend Cassie.

She alleged the Bad Boy CEO had subjected her to physical and sexual abuse throughout their decade-long relationship. Subsequent to the filing of the lawsuit, Diddy settled the legal case within 24 hours.

‘Deleon Day Party’ Canceled

In addition to stepping down from REVOLT, Diddy’s brand suffered a blow when his Deleón Day Party was canceled due to the lawsuit filed by Cassie.

On November 17, a day after the lawsuit was filed, the cancellation was announced stating:

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the unfortunate cancellation of Sunday’s highly anticipated. DELEÓN Day Party. Recent, serious allegations against DELEON Tequila owner, Sean “Puff” Combs, have compelled us to take immediate action. In light of these circumstances, we believe it is in the best interest of our community to regrettably cancel the event. We understand the disappointment this may bring, but we remain committed to the values of integrity and accountability. However, we are excited to share that we have something special in the works for Tuesday, November 21st. We encourage you to stay tuned for an announcement that reflects the spirit and dedication to our community that has always been at the core of AGENDA. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.”

Macy’s Cuts Ties With Diddy’s ‘Sean John’

Furthermore, Diddy faced yet another setback when it was reported on November 22 that his clothing brand Sean John was being phased out of its two-decade partnership with Macy’s.

In May 2010, Sean John entered into a distribution agreement with Macy’s department store, designating Macy’s and Macys.com as the exclusive distributors of Sean John sportswear at both retail and online levels. As part of this arrangement, Sean John and Macy’s expanded the brand’s distribution to numerous Macy’s stores and established exclusive marketing partnerships with the NBA

Will His Grammy Be Rescinded?

Adding to his woes, there are concerns about Diddy’s upcoming nomination for “Best Progressive R&B Album” at the 66th annual Grammy Awards. This leads fans to wonder if Diddy’s nomination will be taken away by the Recording Academy

One fan named @invisibiliss wrote, “Are they gone replace Diddy Grammy nomination with someone else or nah?? I have ideas on who can go there..” Another user named @MsNadaNee wrote, “Will @RecordingAcad take Diddy’s Grammy nomination away???”

Grammy nominations, which have been retracted in the past, were the case with Milli Vanilli in the 1990s. It was discovered that they did not sing any of the vocals on their music releases, making them the only artists to have their Grammy rescinded.

Grammy Noms Revoked?

In the realm of Grammy nominations being rescinded, there may be a possibility. In 2022, shock rockstar Marilyn Manson initially received two nominations for his contributions to Kanye West’s album Donda

According to the New York Times, the former nomination was revoked after Manson was excluded as a writer of the song in the updated version of Donda. The Record Academy CEO, Harvey Mason Jr., clarified in a recent interview that only Manson’s work would be considered for the award, and that his ongoing legal issues didn’t interfere as he was charged with sexual abuse charges in 2021.

 Harvey Mason Jr. stated:

“[The Record Academy] won’t restrict the people who can submit their material for consideration. We won’t look back at people’s history, we won’t look at their criminal record, we won’t look at anything other than the legality within our rules of, is this recording for this work eligible based on date and other criteria. If it is, they can submit for consideration. What we will control is our stages, our shows, our events, our red carpets. We’ll take a look at anyone who is asking to be a part of that, asking to be in attendance, and we’ll make our decisions at that point. But we’re not going to be in the business of restricting people from submitting their work for our voters to decide on.”

R&B singer, R. Kelly, who is currently imprisoned on sex trafficking charges, also had rumors swirling about the rescission of his Grammy awards in 2021. However, Mason Jr. stated:

“Right now, I think it’s something that is going to take a little bit more consideration before we can really dictate or decide,” he continued. “My initial feeling is we’re probably not a business that we want to be in of taking people’s awards back after they’ve been given. But we’ll take a good look at it and see.”

SOHH, Is Diddy Banned From The Grammys?

As many are wondering about Diddy’s whereabouts for the upcoming Grammys, it is alleged that some stars are also refusing to sit near him due to the abuse lawsuit filed against him. According to the Mirror, a music insider stated:

“The formal invitations go out this month. There’s conflict at the academy as several voting members do not think it would be appropiate to invite Diddy.”

Foot Locker Rejects Ye

In a similar vein, the world of celebrities has seen instances where deals have been rejected or revoked due to controversial statements or behaviors. Kanye West, for example, faced rejection from Foot Locker after making anti-Semitic remarks, causing backlash and fears of further controversy.

In light of Diddy’s recent legal troubles centered around sexual assault allegations, some have wondered what the Grammys are planning to do about the rapper: At the 2024 ceremony, his album The Love Album: Off The Grid earned a nomination in the Best Progressive R&B Album category.

Will Diddy’s Grammy nomination be taken away, and will he be welcome at the 2024 show? That’s unclear as of now, but the Recording Academy is at least looking into it.

“We are taking this matter very seriously and we are in the process of evaluating it with the time and care that it deserves,” the Recording Academy said in a statement shared with Rolling Stone.

As for Diddy’s nomination, based on recent precedent, it doesn’t appear likely it will be rescinded. In response to Marilyn Manson receiving a Grammy nomination in 2021, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said at the time:

“We won’t restrict the people who can submit their material for consideration.
