Saba, Mick Jenkins, & IDK Stop By For Their Version Of The “Red Bull Spiral Freestyle”

Rap never seems to run out of tremendous rhymers and writers. Rappers like Saba, Mick Jenkins, and IDK all need to be in the conversation of some of the best in the modern-day landscape. All three have very underrated careers due to their middling exposure to hip-hop fans. But calling them that does not feel right because of how talented they all are. To flex their skills, Saba and the gang dropped some sick verses for their edition of the “Red Bull Spiral Freestyle.”

The energy drink company started this freestyle series about one year ago. If you have not been keeping track, Red Bull is now up to their eleventh installment. The cool thing about these cyphers is that it is all done in one take and every rapper has to navigate the same instrumental. However, that is no problem for Saba, Mick, and IDK.

All three rap with high energy and bravado, while also spitting some introspective bars as well. Take some of Saba’s opening lines for example, “All I wanted in this life was a few thousand a month / Just enough to get by, feed two mouths and a sonThey rather us savages, the city is as sad as they come / On the run, we hit the hotel, a few towels and a blunt.” It is really hard to choose the best verse, so check it out to see who you feel gave it their all.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new “Red Bull Spiral Freestyle” by Saba, Mick Jenkins, and IDK? Who had the better showing on this cypher and why? Who would like to hear an album from this year? If you had to rank these three rappers in order from talented to least talented, how would do it? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Meek Mill, G Herbo, And Sauce Walka Share Surprise Cypher

Over the weekend, Gillie Da King held “Gillie Fest” in Philadelphia to honor his son who was recently tragically slain. A number of Philly legends showed up to pay tribute to Gillie and his son. Among them was Meek Mill who made a surprise appearance on stage with the rapper. After their performances, a trio of MCs teamed up for a special cypher that caught many rap fans attention. Meek teamed up with G Herbo and Sauce Walka for the impromptu performance outside the festival.

Fans in the comments responded to the performances given by the trio, in particular Sauce Walka’s. “SAUCE TALKING THAT SH*T” reads one of the top comments. “Sauce walka really underrated he the only one actually held his own,” said another. “Ngl but Sauce straight smooth skated on this one…” reads one of the top comments on the post. The in-person crowd seems to agree. Dozens of bystanders filmed the three rappers with various cameras and cheered at particularly impressive moments.

Of the three rappers, G Herbo is the one whose been in the headlines most recently. Over the weekend he officially signed his plea deal in a wire fraud case that he’s been caught up in since 2020. The deal allowed two of the charges to be dropped which shrank his potential sentencing down from 20+ years to just two-to-three. He’s been pretty vocal about the situation as well. In a statement made last week, he said he’s focused on staying calm and under control while his future is uncertain. He also expressed certainty that he wouldn’t be snitched on, claiming things would be different for him than Young Thug in the YSL RICO case.

Meek Mill was caught up in a different kind of hot water earlier this year. After shouting “Free Tory Lanez” during his set at Rolling Loud Portugal the fan backlash was loud. A few weeks after the incident Meek doubled down and defended his comments. What do you think of the trio’s new cypher outside Gillie Fest? Let us know in the comment section below.

Charles Hamilton Reflects On Cypher With Kanye West And The Game

Charles Hamilton recently appeared on The Blog Era podcast, where he revealed details of his 2009 cypher with Kanye West and The Game. He explained that after hearing Ye and The Game discussing cyphers, he suggested that they get one going. The 12-minute cypher was filmed by DJ Skee and later posted on SkeeTV.

“So yeah, I’m aware that Kanye is there and Game is there,” Hamilton begins the story. “Kanye West comes around the corner with this like, Melania Trump-looking chick and he talking his Kanye shit. I’m like, ‘Mr. West,’ and he like, ‘Ahh!’ And he said some shit. He’s reading a program, and it’s like a dress up event and he says, this gon’ be difficult to go to because I dress down when I dress up and I dress up when I dress down. So his girl does a Vanna White laugh.”

Hamilton Calls The Cypher “A Rare Exhibition”

He continued, explaining how the idea came up. “So The Game comes out and Kanye, and The Game start talking about how they were cyphering outside of Nike Town,” he shares. “I was like, ‘Yo, ya’ll want to get a cypher going right now?’” Hamilton went on to call the ordeal ”one of the rare exhibitions of [him] believing in [himself].” He added, “Props to me, but like, I believed in myself.”

It was recently confirmed that Ye had his accounts frozen by Adidas, following his accusations that over $75 million was frozen by the company. “I went from being a multi-billionaire to not even being able to use my Apple Pay four nights ago. I couldn’t use my Apple Pay because someone how Adidas was able to legally go in and freeze my money,” he claimed. Law360 unveiled court documents proving that the artist’s accusations were true. The Game recently poked fun at Lil Pump’s selfie in a cropped purple jacket, writing, “The rapture coming.” He also recently shared some sweet selfies with his 12-year-old daughter, California Dream.

Machine Gun Kelly Disses Jack Harlow In New Cypher: Watch

Machine Gun Kelly has been relatively quiet in the first half of 2023, mostly making headlines due to the near end of his relationship with Megan Fox. As you may recall, the engaged lovers found their romance going up in flames during Super Bowl weekend, at which time the actress shared a telling Instagram post that immediately caused cheating rumours to fly. After weeks of turmoil and therapy (plus a trip to Hawaii), they’re apparently back in a good place. Photos from a PDA-filled trip to the beach previously backed these claims up, allowing fans – and the couple – to move on from living in limbo.

It seems Colson Baker has since turned his energy back into his music, potentially crafting a follow-up to 2022’s mainstream sellout. While he certainly has many inspirations when it comes to writing songs, the father of one took a special interest in Jack Harlow’s new Jackman album when penning his latest cypher. MGK shared a video of him performing at his house on Saturday (May 6), not-so-subtly dissing the Kentucky native over some braggadocious claims he made about being the “hardest white boy” since Eminem on his “They Don’t Love It” track.

Machine Gun Kelly Speaks His Mind

“Never been afraid to say what’s on my mind at any given time of day 😈🎯,” The Dirt actor wrote in his caption. “New cypher out now.” As he raps, Kelly reminds listeners, “I’m the shit when I sit, stand, talk, walk, rap, sing / My mouth sewage,” before leaning into his spiritual side with bars like “I’m cross-legged in my sanctuary / Like a Buddhist / I’m cross-eyed from this weed I’m smokin’ / That’s colour blue-ish.”

His obvious diss aimed at Harlow comes later on when he spits, “I’m a Great White / I could eat these Barracudas,” followed by “I see why they call you Jackman / You jacked man’s whole swag / Give Drake his flow back, man.” If you haven’t already heard the Come Home The Kids Miss You artist’s original bars that sparked Machine Gun Kelly’s diss, check them out along with the “They Don’t Love It” visual below. Afterward, tell us your thoughts on the older lyricist’s new cypher in the comments.
