Judge Delays Tory Lanez Sentencing Date By A Month

Tory Lanez will be sentenced in late February, instead of later this month, after the rapper changed his legal team. Per Fox 11 Los Angeles, a judge pushed back the rapper’s sentencing date from Jan. 27th to Feb. 28th.

The news comes days after George Mgdesyan stepped down from Tory’s legal team. Instead, David Kenner, who represented Suge Knight in the 90s and beat Snoop Dogg’s murder trial, will lead Tory’s legal team. Kenner told Superior Court Judge David Herriford that he was awaiting transcripts from the trial in order to file a motion for a new trial.

At this point, Kenner hasn’t revealed how the legal team will move forward with Tory’s case but Mgdesyan explained that the famed attorney came on board for post-conviction motions, including future appeals. Kenner told reporters outside of court that he’s looking forward to litigating the next portion of Lanez’s trial.

A jury convicted the Canadian rapper on Dec. 23rd of three counts related to the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. The rapper was found guilty of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

Following the guilty verdict, a lawyer representing Megan Thee Stallion issued a statement, reading, “The jury got it right. I am thankful there is justice for Meg.”

Tory Lanez is facing a maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in prison. A judge will likely order him his deportation back to Canada after he completes his sentence.

We will keep you posted on any further updates regarding Tory Lanez’s sentencing.

Ye’s Ex-Business Manager Is Seeking More Time To Find Him

Ye was certainly successful in having one of the most controversial years in 2022. As his name was all over headlines for all of the wrong reasons, he consistently kept digging himself deeper into trouble.

Just a few weeks ago, his former business manager, Thomas St. John claimed that the “Jesus Walks” rapper was missing. Even with these claims, the 45-year-old still managed to make headlines. Now, St. John is requesting more time to find him, despite a couple of recent public spottings.

According to new reports from RadarOnline, the businessman is asking the court for three months to get ahold of the Chicago native. He wants to find him in order to hit him with a lawsuit.

This is obviously confusing considering that just two days ago, the disgraced artist was seen out with a mystery woman. On Sunday (January 8), photos from TMZ began circulating online of Ye driving around Beverly Hills in his Maybach with her. Additionally, photos show him at a church service on Saturday (January 7).

St. John alleges that he disappeared following his frightening string of hurtful, anti-semitic comments. The rapper’s ex-associate is suing him for $4.5 million in damages. This reportedly comes after the father of four is responsible for ending their partnership abruptly. St. John claims that the Graduation rapper agreed to paying him $300,000 a month for his roles as business manager and Chief Marketing Officer of Donda.

Additionally, he says that they had an agreed-upon 18-month contract. However, St. John claims he only saw payments for three months. After this, Ye began refusing to pay the remaining balance.

What do you think about the ongoing situation surrounding Ye? Comment your thoughts down below. Finally, make sure you stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest pop culture updates and stories.

YSL Case: Juror Reportedly Skipped Court For Dominican Republic Trip

As if this case couldn’t take another twist, a juror in the YSL trial involving Young Thug has come under fire. Jury selection has been an arduous process, as a reported 600 potential jurors have been questioned. Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter Jozsef Papp has kept the public updated on the selection, and on Twitter, he shared an eyebrow-raising update about Juror #64.

According to Papp, much of today’s hearing in the YSL case focused on potential jurors hardships. Some were pardoned due to work or personal reasons, but others were pushed forward in the selection process.

The second panel of 200 jurors was looked into, including a Paralympics athlete training for 2024. That person was reportedly excused from duty. Further, an APS teacher was denied, reported Papp, after stating she suffered from neck and back problems.

However, the more startling report was about Juror #64, who didn’t show up to the hearing at all.

“We are getting update on juror #64, who did report the first day last week but didn’t report yesterday,” Papp tweeted. “After deputies went to her address, she wasn’t there. Her grandmother told deputies she wasn’t there.”

“Deputies were able to get in contact with her,” he continued. “And she told them she was in the Dominican Republic and won’t return until tomorrow night.”

“Judge Glanville said she wants her taken to jail or to his courtroom, if court is still in session, upon her return to Atlanta.”

Meanwhile, as the jurors were questioned, reports state the judge advised them that the YSL case could take six to nine months. Additionally, eight of Young Thug’s co-defendants, including Gunna, have already taken plea deals.

Tory Lanez Song, “The Color Violet” Enters Billboard Hot 100

Tory Lanez is one of the most controversial artists in the world right now. On December 23, he was found guilty for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot in 2020.

However, it seems as though the “Say It” artist is still receiving plenty of streams from behind bars.

On Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart dated for the week of January 14, 2023, one of the Canadian artist’s singles, “The Color Violet,” makes a new appearance at #87. Furthermore, Lanez himself appears on the Billboard Global 200 chart for artists, at #122 there.

The 30-year-old dropped “The Color Violet” in 2021, as the fourth track off of his sixth studio album, Alone At Prom. The project features distinct ’80s-inspired production.

Of course, this news comes just a few weeks after Lanez’s guilty verdict in the Megan Thee Stallion trial. The jury is responsible for declaring him guilty of all three charges against him. This includes carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle, assault with a semiautomatic handgun and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

However, new reports indicate that the Chixtape rapper has fired his attorney. He’s hiring Suge Knight’s former lawyer, David Kenner, as his replacement.

“Kenner is a longtime criminal defense attorney whose clients include former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight. Anyone with actual experience in criminal law (not all lawyers) will tell you he’s joining the case a bit late: Before trial would have been better,” says legal reporter Meghann Cuniff in a tweet.

Earlier today, TMZ began circulating photos of the “Savage” rapper’s injured foot from the shooting. The set of photos also includes x-rays of her injury, as well as images of a bloody suitcase in the backseat of the vehicle where the incident occurred.

The sentencing was originally set to take place soon, on January 27. However, the hiring of his new attorney may cause a delay now. The Toronto native faces up to 22 years in years in prison.

What are your thoughts on “The Color Violet” cracking the Billboard Hot 100? Comment below. Finally, make sure to stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest updates and stories in music and pop culture.

Takeoff Murder: New Details Emerge About Dice Game Shooting

The tragic death of Takeoff is something that many still can’t wrap their heads around. Halloween weekend was being enjoyed from one coast to the other when news surfaced in the early morning hours of November 1 that Takeoff had been shot. Soon, it was confirmed that the beloved Migos rapper passed away, and quickly, the public began seeking answers.

At this point, we’ve learned Takeoff was at a dice game with Quavo and dozens of others when he was killed. In a new interview, comedian Shawty Shawty says he spoke with cousins of the rapper and received details regarding what led to the shooting.

“Quavo dominates in a whole lot of things, basketball, all of this,” Shawty said while on the Ugly Money podcast. “So, they say they had been shooting basketball earlier, and then they got to the bowling alley, and they said there was a dice game. And they say that Quavo noticed that the dice were not right, and that’s where the argument started.”

“Quavo—Everybody know Quavo got a mouth. Everybody know Quavo talked junk. I don’t think that was the atmosphere to talk sh*t. You got to respect.”

Elsewhere, Shawty said Takeoff and Quavo shouldn’t have been gambling.

“When you make it to a certain point—God took you past that point so you don’t fall backwards.” He added that even he doesn’t do shows in “certain hoods” because he doesn’t want “the same hod that I got out of, snatch me back.”

Patrick Clark has been arrested for the murder of Takeoff. Through his lawyer, Clark denies being the person responsible for the rapper’s death. He was recently released on a $1 million bond, reportedly paid by an unnamed “concerned citizen.”

Investigators say Takeoff was an innocent bystander who was killed during a verbal altercation. The unproblematic rapper continues to be grieved by fans and loved ones.

YSL Trial: Potential Juror Tried To Contact Young Thug’s Attorney’s Law Firm

Court personnel launched an investigation into a potential juror who allegedly tried to contact Young Thug’s lawyer’s firm via e-mail.

Day five of jury selection began this morning with a particular focus on the hardships that the trial could cause. Cathy Russon, an executive producer at Law & Order network, revealed that the trial could last anywhere between 6 to 9 months. Many of the potential jurors are concerned over the financial hardship that could cause, whether a loss of income or child care.

One of the potential jurors, however, might be in hot water after Brian Steele, Thug’s attorney, revealed they tried to reach out to his law firm via e-mail. Though the content of the e-mail wasn’t disclosed, it was enough for the judge to call for an investigation of the matter.

Steele forwarded the e-mail to the judge after it was received, confirming that he did not respond. Afterward, the judge called for court personnel to investigate the matter.

Overall, the court’s had difficulties during the jury selection process. One of the potential jurors reportedly didn’t return this week after flying out to the Dominican Republic. Judge Glanville ordered law enforcement to go to her home and later stated that she must be brought directly to court from the airport. Another juror also called in sick.

Most notably, a Paralympic athlete for Team Canada said that he couldn’t serve on the jury due to qualifying events. Then, a doctor stated that he’d lose $300K if he served on the jury.

We’ll keep you posted on any more updates regarding Young Thug’s trial and the investigation into the potential juror.

Tory Lanez Sentencing Possibly Delayed Until February

His guilty verdict may have been delivered, but Tory Lanez isn’t giving up the fight for his freedom. The singer was recently found guilty of three counts related to the 2020 shooting involving Megan Thee Stallion. Lanez has maintained his innocence throughout, but a jury of his peers believed otherwise. Megan has shied away from the public since the conclusion of the trial. Since revealing she was shot following a party at Kylie Jenner’s home, the Traumazine rapper has been ridiculed by Lanez’s supporters.

Yesterday (January 10), Rolling Stone court reporter Nancy Dillon shared that Lanez would return to court today. She stated this hearing was centered on the rapper retaining a new lawyer, David Kenner, following the exit of George Mgdesyan.

Kenner famously represented Suge Knight in the 1990s in a robbery case.

“Tory’s dad, Sonstar Peterson, is here with his wife as well. We’re still waiting to go in,” Dillon reported. “Sonstar got very emotional at the conviction and shouted at the prosecutors before he was escorted out of the building.”

“Emotional” is an understatement, as videos of Sonstar went viral after he erupted in the courtroom during Lanez’s verdict. He swore to take down Roc Nation, as well, for their alleged involvement in the case.

Meanwhile, Dillon added that there was confusion this morning regarding Lanez being transported to the court. Initial reports claimed he “refused” the ride, but it was later revealed there was an issue with his wristband.

Additionally, it looks like Lanez’s sentencing has been delayed.

“Sounds like there’s an agreement to postpone Tory Lanez’s sentencing a month so Kenner can file the motion for new trial,” Dillon wrote. “That would push sentencing to late February. Waiting for judge to approve this on the record.”

Young Thug, YSL RICO Case Could Last 6 To 9 Months: Report

As one case ends, Young Thug and the RICO case against YSL is underway. We recently saw the dramatic conclusion of Tory Lanez’s shooting trial. As updates about his sentencing unfold on social media, jury selection for Young Thug’s case has taken over headlines. We’ve steadily reported on the plea deals eight of Young Thug’s associates have agreed to in recent months. Gunna was the most notable for taking a plea, admitting in court that YSL is a criminal street gang, and earning his freedom before the holidays.

Meanwhile, Thugger remains incarcerated as prosecutors have named him as the alleged leader of YSL. There have been reports stating Young Thug will not be offered a plea, and instead, investigators are targeting him specifically.

It’s reported that approximately 600 potential jurors have already been vetted, and the experience has been tiring. The questionnaire candidates filled out was shared online, as was information about the hardships they would face if called on.

As expected, many were immediately dismissed. The judge clarified that this trial could last between six to nine months, as there are 14 co-defendants.

Meanwhile, Gunna has been taking hits from the public—and a few of his peers—since his release. His attorney said the rapper wouldn’t be testifying against Thug, but that hasn’t quelled the criticism. Most recently, Tony Yayo also questioned Gunna’s first day out after the “Pushin P” rapper was filmed leaving jail and getting into a Maybach with a woman.

Despite the pushback, Gunna’s supporters have defended his choice. Also, heck out more from the courtroom in the YSL case above and Gunna returning to freedom below.

Victim Of Shooting At French Montana Event Considering Lawsuit

He was included in the list of victims who were fired upon, but French Montana may face legal trouble stemming from a recent shooting. Last week, French released Coke Boys 6, and unsurprisingly, he and his crew were in Miami celebrating the project. It was reported that the rapper and his collaborators were shooting a music video outside The Licking restaurant when someone opened fire on the crowd.

Police shared that 10 people were injured during the incident, but thankfully, all are expected to survive. One of the victims was a blogger named Carl Leon, and his attorney, Josiah Graham, is weighing options for a lawsuit.

NBC Miami reported the 25-year-old blogger was invited to the event. Leon is said to have suffered several injuries, including wounds to his hand and stomach. Another bullet “grazed his ear,” the outlet stated.

“Sometime during the break of one of the scenes, that’s when he heard gunshots. He didn’t know what happened, like everyone else. He took off running. As he’s running, he fell at some point,” said Graham. “When he gets up, he discovers he’s been shot.”

“Just literally less than an inch away from sure death,” the lawyer added.

Leon is considering filing a lawsuit, and Graham is currently looking to speak with more witnesses. One person, Wilmark Baez, reportedly let production use his bulldogs and lowrider vehicle for filming. One of his dogs vanished during the shooting but was later returned unharmed. However, Baez’s car is still impounded and he was never paid for his contributions.

Investigators issued a statement saying the necessary permits allowed for production weren’t approved. Thus, police presence and safety measures weren’t implemented.

“One of the biggest deterrents to crime is a police presence or some type of security infrastructure, but certainly with police officers,” Graham said.

Meanwhile, TMZ reported that French sought safety in a nearby KFC. The rapper also issued a statement about the harrowing incident.

“Last night, I was in Miami celebrating the release of my CB6 mixtape w/ friends at a local restaurant,” the statement read. “We unfortunately were at the wrong place, at the wrong time when an incident took place that left people hurt. Our thoughts & prayers are w/ the victims & families at this time.”

Kai Cenat Breaks Silence After TikTok Star Accuses His Friend Of Raping Her

Kai Cenat spoke out during a recent stream after a TikTok star’s allegations of sexual assault at his New Year’s Eve party.

Jovi Pena shared a statement on social media last week claiming that Cenat’s friend raped her. She explained that the Twitch streamer invited her to an NYE party. However, after having a few drinks, she said that she wanted to leave but the famed YouTuber advised her to go to a room upstairs where she could sleep unbothered.

Pena said Cenat’s friend, DJIGUI SECK, raped her while she was asleep. Later, she provided screenshots of text message exchanges with Cenat who appeared surprised that his friend assaulted Pena.

On Jan. 7th, Cenat addressed the allegations directly during his Twitch stream. While Pena described Cenat as a friend, he went on to explain that he only met her on Dec. 31st, 2022. He also said that he wasn’t intending on bashing her or the allegations in any form. He also addressed his relationship with SECK, who he said he’s known since high school.

For the most part, Kai didn’t publicly respond to the allegations until the stream. However, many fans were curious why he was silent about this matter. Some pointed out that he seemed to stop responding to Pina’s text but he explained that he went to his attorneys and authorities immediately.

“I went nowhere else but the police instantly,” he said. “I went to my legal team and I went to the police.” He added that his legal team advised him not to issue any text messages or public statements about the matter, though they gave him the “green light” to speak about it during the stream. From there, he addressed rumors that he “set-up” the assault on Pena.

“I’ve been accused of this being set up and I knew what was going on,” he continued. “Negative. Negative. That’s disgusting. That’s the reason why I’m kinda mad… I don’t know sh*t that went down that night.”

Kai Cenat also said that he brought the matter up with his friend, who is accused of assaulting Pena. Cenat described Seck as being in “complete shock” about the matter.

Cenat also told his followers not to harass Pena or go on her social media accounts at this time.

We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding the case.
