Diddy Captures Key Win In Alleged Sex Trafficking Case

Diddy earned a minor victory in court, this week, with U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian ordering the prosecution to produce a sworn affidavit vowing they are not the source of leaked information in the case. The order comes after Diddy’s legal team accused prosecutors of allegedly sharing sensitive details with the press, thus infringing upon the Bad Boy mogul’s right to a fair trial. Despite the accusation, they failed to get a gag order on the prosecution back in October.

In that ruling, Subramanian reemphasized existing laws prohibiting lawyers, investigators, and government agents from sharing non-public information with the media. “With this order in hand, both sides can make sure that anyone involved with this case or the related investigation understands what they are not permitted to disclose,” the judge wrote at the time, as caught by AllHipHop. “To be clear, this order isn’t based on a finding that there has been any wrongdoing thus far, as the Court has made no findings at this juncture relating to defendant’s allegations that information related to the case has been leaked. The point of this order is to help ensure that nothing happens from now on that would interfere with a fair trial.”

Specifically, Diddy’s lawyers have accused the state of leaking the infamous video of him attacking his ex-girlfriend Cassie. CNN first published the 2016 footage, earlier this year. Prosecutors have argued they didn’t even have the video when the publication acquired it. “Without any factual basis, the leak motion seeks to suppress highly probative evidence […] by claiming that it was grand jury material leaked by government agents,” prosecutors wrote in a motion from October. “But, as the defendant is fully aware, the video was not in the Government’s possession at the time of CNN’s publication and the Government has never, at any point, obtained the video through grand jury process.”

Diddy is currently residing at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn as he awaits trial. He unsuccessfully attempted to get out on bond on several occasions ahead of his trial on May 5, 2025. He faces charges of alleged sex trafficking and racketeering and has already denied the allegations.

Lil Durk Learns Tentative Trial Date During LA Court Appearance

According to USA Today, Lil Durk appeared in a Los Angeles federal courthouse for his arraignment yesterday (November 14). The Chicago rapper pleaded not guilty to the charges he’s facing, and prosecutors asked that he remain in custody while he awaits trial. They described him as an alleged “flight risk and a danger to the community.” He’ll be held without bail in LA until the trial, per U.S. Magistrate Judge Patricia Donahue’s orders, and his trial got a new tentative start date.

ABC7 reports that the trial has been scheduled to begin on January 7, 2025. The outlet notes, however, that it’s “expected to be postponed.” A status conference has also been scheduled for November 25 and a detention hearing for December 12.

Lil Durk’s Tentative Trial Date Is January 7, 2025

Lil Durk was arrested last month and hit with a murder-for-hire charge. His arrest was shortly after five other alleged OTF affiliates were taken into custody. Authorities accuse them of being paid to carry out the murder of Quando Rondo as revenge for King Von’s 2020 death. In 2022, Quando and his cousin Lul Pab were victims of a shooting at an LA gas station. Quando survived while Lul Pab passed away as a result of his injuries.

Earlier this month, prosecutors unveiled a new indictment that includes additional charges against Durk and cites some of his song lyrics. The complete list of charges includes a count of conspiracy, a count of use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, as well as a count of using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death, according to WGN.

Diddy’s Children And Mother Attend Court Hearing To Support Him

Diddy and his legal team got a lot of updates during his latest federal court hearing in New York on Thursday (October 10), whether it was a potential trial start date or other motions from them. The Bad Boy mogul wasn’t just accompanied by his attorneys, though, as all of his children (seemingly except for near-two-year-old Love) and his mother Janice reportedly attended the hearing in support of Sean Combs. TMZ obtained footage of them walking out of the courtroom hand in hand after their father’s (or son’s) hearing concluded. As such, it seems like the Combs family wants to present a united front.

However, other important updates during this court session didn’t make it clear whether or not Diddy succeeded in his third bail attempt, which would presumably reunite him with his family for at least some time. The judge stated that the court did not receive this third motion at the time of the hearing, so they were not able to rule on it. However, the next court date is reportedly in December, and it’s unclear whether the court will address this bail attempt before this date or exactly on it. Nevertheless, the court proposed a May 5, 2025 start date, and Combs’ lawyer Marc Agnifilo reportedly agreed.

Diddy’s Family Leaving Court

Still, it’s unclear whether the court needs to confirm this start date for the Diddy trial or if their agreement already sets it in stone. Regardless, this federal case will develop as more civil allegations and accusations continue to emerge, such as recent claims from one of Cassie’s songwriters. Tiffany Red recently told ABC about an allegedly nasty phone call between the singer and Combs that she claims to have witnessed, as well as other alleged rifts.

Meanwhile, Diddy’s twin daughters D’Lila and Jessie, plus his mother Janice, reportedly paid him a jail visit recently. This means that, even if the third bail attempt doesn’t go through, it seems like the family will still have space to spend time together. Amid this federal case and slew of allegations, this must feel like some slight reprieve. We’ll see how else the Combs family reacts to all these allegations.

Diddy Makes A Decision On Testifying In Court

Diddy’s lawyer Marc Agnifilo chose to participate in TMZ‘s upcoming documentary The Downfall Of Diddy: The Indictment, for which he issued some key and important updates on his legal case and strategy. Moreover, he revealed whether or not his client plans to testify in federal court. For those unaware, Sean Combs faces sex trafficking and racketeering charges following a whirlwind of other lawsuits and allegations against him, most of which remain unsolved. According to Agnifilo, he is “eager” to defend himself in court and tell his side of the story. This is despite the possibility for cross-examination over leaked surveillance footage of the Bad Boy mogul assaulting Cassie in a hotel room.

“I don’t know that I could keep him off the stand,” Diddy’s attorney reportedly told the outlet. “I think he is very eager to tell his story and I think he will tell every part of his story, including what you see on the video. So I expect it’s going to be explained by the both of us.” Marc Agnifilo also referred to other things he could potentially explain or dismiss, such as questions about his alleged “freak-offs” and allegedly blowing up Kid Cudi’s car.

“He has his story,” Diddy’s lawyer reportedly went on. “And he has a story that I think only he can tell in the way that he can tell it, in real time. And it’s a human story, it’s a story of love, it’s a story of hurt, it’s a story of heartbreak.” “He was heartbroken. She was heartbroken,” he said of the Cassie relationship. This documentary will air on Thursday night (September 26) via Tubi according to promotional material. In addition, this decision comes as another sexual assault lawsuit recently hit the New York businessman and his bodyguard for their alleged crimes.

Meanwhile, other celebrities like Suge Knight have speculated on who else knew about all this in the famous world. “Facts is there,” he shared on News Nation with host Chris Cuomo. “Where we’re at now, I don’t care if it’s T.I., I don’t care if it’s Rick Ross, I don’t care if it’s Jay. I don’t care if it’s Snoop, I don’t care if it’s Game, I don’t care if it’s Dre. Nobody stepping up on the fact that you know what’s going on.”

Young Thug Unable To Control His Laughter In Viral YSL Trial Clip

Young Thug couldn’t contain his laughter during a court appearance, earlier this week, when his attorney, Brian Steel, made an analogy about the YSL RICO case. “This is all to me like I have a bag over my head, and I’m getting smashed with a baseball bat, and I have no idea where to hit because I don’t have anything,” Steel jokes in a video going viral on social media. In the background, Thug breaks into laughter.

“Love to see him still remaining positive lol,” one user responded to the clip on X (formerly Twitter). Another wrote back: “I wouldn’t even be capable of laughing anymore after going through what he’s going through for 2 years … glad he still has his spirits up.” One more agreed: “It makes my heart smile to see him still able to smile and find humor in the situation because after this fiasco of a trial I would not be able to hold my composure in that court room. I would have been removed for being belligerent a LONG time ago.”

Brian Steel Arrives At Fulton County Courthouse

Brian Steel, attorney for rapper Young Thug, arrives at the Fulton County Courthouse on November 27, 2023, in Atlanta, Georgia. Opening statements will begin in the case against 31-year-old US rapper Young Thug and 28 others, who are facing a racketeering indictment accusing the defendants of a number of offenses that support an overarching conspiracy charge, including murder, assault, carjacking, drug dealing, and theft. The viral clip comes as the YSL RICO trial, which is already the longest in state history, continues to drag on. Lawyers for Yak Gotti recently filed a motion requesting a time limit for the prosecution’s case due to their repeated lack of preparation and inefficiency in the presentation of evidence. They argued that “the Court should use that discretion to prevent this trial from stretching indefinitely and beyond the reaches of time…”

Young Thug Delivers Strong Message In Court With His Outfit

Young Thug wore a suit bearing the message, “Truly Humbled Under God,” in the courtroom for his latest hearing on Tuesday. His legal team previously argued that the “Thug” part of his name represents the slogan. “Most people think about a thug as a criminal, but to Jeffery, ‘thug’ had a different meaning,” Attorney Brian Steel argued back in November 2023. He also suggested the phrase, “Pushin P,” refers to “pushing positivity.”

Users on social media have been sharing plenty of laughs in response to the outfit. “How he managed to come up with the meaning of that word is beyond me,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter). Another joked: “It’s when the problems hit that we all remember God.” One more user remarked: “He know Trump getting him out first day in office.”

When the streamer remarked that District Attorney Fani Willis has been treating him unfairly, Trump agreed. “I heard that actually,” Trump responded. “So, I’ve heard about him and I’ve heard he’s being treated very unfairly by her [Willis] and I would tell her she’s gotta treat these patriots that are being all– it’s terrible. They’re going after them.” He concluded: “He’s gotta be treated fairly.” Trump also spoke on the Democratic Party’s decision to swap Joe Biden for Kamala Harris as well as his feelings on Kanye West and more.

Young Thug Trial: Mariah The Scientist Puts Her Loyalty On Display In Court

Young Thug hasn’t had a ton of luck as of late, as he continues to battle RICO charges in a highly publicized trial. Earlier this week, a judge denied his request for release on bond. “I am not going to reconsider any bond issues that have already been ruled on absent legitimate changed circumstances,” she declared.

The judge in question was Paige Reese Whitaker, who was assigned to the case last month after two other judge’s recusals. While the rapper may not be seeing an end to his long-winded legal battle anytime soon, he’s got at least one thing going for him, his relationship with Mariah The Scientist. The Atlanta-born songstress was recently spotted supporting him in court, wearing a smile as she looked on from her seat.

Mariah The Scientist Supports Young Thug In Court

Mariah has never shown any signs of straying from the relationship amid Young Thug’s incarceration. She opened up about her dedication in an interview last year, making it clear that she’s here to stay. “I feel like, and this is in all honesty, there is nobody on planet Earth that can get between me and supporting my man,” she told Access Atlanta. “I’m sorry, it’s just not gonna happen.”

Mariah has since been hard at work cheering Young Thug on from the outside. She’s also dealt with her own legal issues in recent months, however. In May, she was arrested for her alleged role in a brawl at a local club. She was later charged with simple battery and pleaded not guilty in July. Her lawyer Brian Steel also demanded a jury trial, and Mariah has maintained her innocence. What do you think of Mariah The Scientist continuing to support Young Thug amid his ongoing RICO trial? Boosie Badazz Laments How Authorities Are Monitoring BG’s Lyrics And Restricting Their Art

Boosie Badazz and B.G. have established quite a strong bond since the latter’s prison release, building on their shared legacies as Louisiana rap legends. Unfortunately, some of their link-ups, concerts, and collaborative work resulted in some more legal trouble for the Cash Money rapper, as authorities attempt to regulate and monitor his post-jail activity. For example, law enforcement is keeping an eye on his lyrical content as part of his release, as he apparently can’t rap about snitches or criminal acts related to the streets. During his most recent VladTV interview with DJ Vlad, the Baton Rouge rapper spoke on his New Orleans colleague’s situation and this lyrical monitoring.

Overall, Vlad and Boosie talked a lot about B.G.’s artistry, remarking on how the grittiness and authenticity behind his street raps add to folks’ love for him as a musical artist and the streets’ respect for him as someone who made it out. While the latter didn’t have too much to say about these legal circumstances, he did indicate that the two have a lot of collaborative material ready to drop, perhaps as a full-length collab with his friend. Sadly, it looks like law enforcement also got in the way of this process, but Badazz seemed to suggest that he’s glad to be over it now. As such, maybe they drop some heat soon.

Boosie Badazz Speaks On B.G. Needing Approval For His Lyrics

“I need all my supporters, all rap supporters to get behind and try to stop what’s going on with B.G.,” Boosie remarked to his social media followers after authorities arrested B.G. for performing with him. “These people trying to lock B.G. up for rapping, bro. This gotta stop. We gotta fight for our people. This man has passed every drug test, community service. Wrong is wrong. You can’t be self-employed and put out music? This man been doing this since 13 years old.

“He is an artist,” Boosie continued concerning B.G. “He not somebody who’s trying to be a rapper. I gotta speak up for this ’cause they trying to lock somebody up for rapping, for doing his job, saying he can’t put out music, saying he gonna get locked up if he do another video rapping in his car. I don’t know what’s going on in New Orleans court room, bro, but wrong is wrong. You can’t do this.”

Teyana Taylor & Iman Shumpert Face Rapid Deadline To Finalize Their Divorce Agreement

A judge has reportedly ordered Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert to finalize their divorce settlement in writing by noon on June 27, according to legal documents reportedly obtained by TMZ. If they fail to meet this deadline, then the judge will remove the case from the docket, although they will still have a chance to start the process over if this is the case. Moreover, the former couple was in court on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday this week to discuss some unresolved issues which they have yet to put in writing. These include a final judgement, a parenting plan, and child support addendums and worksheets.

Furthermore, this legal development in court comes amid some interesting social media reactions between Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert. For example, Shumpert recently commented on Taylor’s post about her Met Gala fit, praising her looks while also suggesting that she doesn’t need him to tell her that to know it for herself. It seems like this whole process has some murkier allegations behind the scenes, such as disagreements over money, cutting off utilities, and the former basketball player supposedly taking care of their kids while under the influence. But in the public eye, they’ve kept things quite civil.

However, other Internet happenings concerning Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert roped in other couples into the mix. Recently, YG caught flack from fans for commenting under Taylor’s Instagram post despite being with Saweetie. It wasn’t even a particularly thirsty comment or anything like that, but it was still enough to cause a bit of a social media stir. For what it’s worth, neither her nor Shumpert have publicly entered another big relationship since news of their split broke.

Meanwhile, Teyana Taylor did receive some new updates in the rumor mill thanks to dating rumors around Leonardo DiCaprio. That didn’t go anywhere, though, so don’t expect another celebrity power couple to emerge anytime soon. Regardless, hopefully this settlement deadline means that the former duo is close to reaching an amicable resolution to this phase of their lives. If not, then it looks like there’s still a chance for them to try again.

Lil Zay Osama Pleads Guilty In Federal Gun Case, Potential Prison Sentence Revealed

According to court documents reportedly obtained by XXL on Friday (May 31), Lil Zay Osama and his legal team entered a guilty plea in his federal firearm case on Thursday. For those unaware, this case has been in limbo since September of 2022, after an Uber driver found a Glock with a switch in his car after the Chicago rapper took a ride. He pleaded guilty in Brooklyn Federal Court and still hasn’t received a sentencing date, but could face a ten-year maximum or likely a 21 or 27-month sentence given federal guidelines. “I knowingly possessed a firearm that was a machine gun in Queens County on Sept. 29, 2022,” Zay reportedly expressed in court according to the New York Daily News. I know that it was wrong and against the law.

Furthermore, this whole incident came about when an Uber driver picked Lil Zay Osama and his colleagues up in Manhattan. He saw him holding a gun and then dropped them off in Queens, and it was after their exit that the driver found a modified Glock 22 .40 caliber with an “auto sear” device that Zay left behind. After the driver notified the cops, they arrested him. But the case took an odd turn later in November, as authorities dismissed the case.

Lil Zay Osama’s Guilty Plea

However, things didn’t look bright for Lil Zay Osama for long, as in December of 2023, police arrested him on a weapons possession charge and alleged robbery. Then, in January, he received an indictment from a grand federal jury, which included charges of machine gun possession and possession of an unregistered firearm. “I guarantee n***as gone need me before I need them,” Zay seemed to respond to these charges on social media. “I’ll be home sooner than you think. Blink n***a [purple devil emoji].”

Meanwhile, now all that’s left for him is to wait for his sentence and hope for the best. We hope that this is Lil Zay Osama’s last legal obstacle on the way, and that he’s able to not just grow from these experiences but turn them into something positive. It may seem small or flat-out warranted to the average reader, but the constance of these circumstances and the places they come from require a much more nuanced conversation. Here’s hoping this gets him closer to that discussion in his personal life and beyond.
