Lil Zay Osama Pleads Guilty In Federal Gun Case, Potential Prison Sentence Revealed

According to court documents reportedly obtained by XXL on Friday (May 31), Lil Zay Osama and his legal team entered a guilty plea in his federal firearm case on Thursday. For those unaware, this case has been in limbo since September of 2022, after an Uber driver found a Glock with a switch in his car after the Chicago rapper took a ride. He pleaded guilty in Brooklyn Federal Court and still hasn’t received a sentencing date, but could face a ten-year maximum or likely a 21 or 27-month sentence given federal guidelines. “I knowingly possessed a firearm that was a machine gun in Queens County on Sept. 29, 2022,” Zay reportedly expressed in court according to the New York Daily News. I know that it was wrong and against the law.

Furthermore, this whole incident came about when an Uber driver picked Lil Zay Osama and his colleagues up in Manhattan. He saw him holding a gun and then dropped them off in Queens, and it was after their exit that the driver found a modified Glock 22 .40 caliber with an “auto sear” device that Zay left behind. After the driver notified the cops, they arrested him. But the case took an odd turn later in November, as authorities dismissed the case.

Lil Zay Osama’s Guilty Plea

However, things didn’t look bright for Lil Zay Osama for long, as in December of 2023, police arrested him on a weapons possession charge and alleged robbery. Then, in January, he received an indictment from a grand federal jury, which included charges of machine gun possession and possession of an unregistered firearm. “I guarantee n***as gone need me before I need them,” Zay seemed to respond to these charges on social media. “I’ll be home sooner than you think. Blink n***a [purple devil emoji].”

Meanwhile, now all that’s left for him is to wait for his sentence and hope for the best. We hope that this is Lil Zay Osama’s last legal obstacle on the way, and that he’s able to not just grow from these experiences but turn them into something positive. It may seem small or flat-out warranted to the average reader, but the constance of these circumstances and the places they come from require a much more nuanced conversation. Here’s hoping this gets him closer to that discussion in his personal life and beyond.

Roddy Ricch To Pay $8K Per Month In Child Support

Roddy Ricch has agreed to pay his ex-girlfriend, Alexandra Kiser, $8,000 a month in child support, on top of the cost of private school tuition, medical bills, special-needs therapy, and extracurricular activities. The move comes as the two reached a deal for joint custody of their 3-year-old son. He’ll also have to pay up $37,500 for Kiser’s legal bills in the case as well as $1,000 in car payments.

Kiser came for sole custody in court, earlier this month, accusing Ricch of being gang-affiliated and being an absent father. “He has been arrested on a gun charge, domestic violence and regularly indulges in promethazine use, all of which are concerns for myself and our son,” she argued.

She further claimed he has “a net worth of approximately $25,000,000” and “commands fees of $500,000 for appearances.” She also added: “Since his birth, I alone, spend 98% of the time with him while Rodrick lives his life without any regard to his parental obligation or responsibility to spend time with Kadence. Rodrick misses important holidays with him including this past holiday season. Instead, he took friends to Dubai and the Maldives on a pleasure trip. I was hurt to find out on Christmas Eve when he came back from his trip that he hadn’t gotten or planned anything for our son for Christmas.”

With the agreement, Ricch will be able to spend time with his son from Tuesdays through Thursdays. Additionally, the agreement bans both parents from using or making “any disparaging or derogatory remarks about the other parent in the presence or within the hearing of the minor child.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Roddy Ricch as well as his relationship with Alexandra Kiser on HotNewHipHop.

Young Thug Jams To Music In Court Video, Fans Wonder What He’s Listening To

A viral video of the moment is circulating on social media, showing Thug bobbing his head back and forth with earbuds in while he awaits the case to resume.

One fan suggested it was a Young Nudy track. “I want to know what @youngthug was listening to in court today but I think it was peaches & eggplants,” they wrote. Another theorized the new Metro Boomin and Future collaborative album, We Still Don’t Trust You. “Young Thug listening to that new Future and Metro album while waiting for the jurors to arrive,” one said. Others picked tracks by NBA YoungBoy, Ken Carson, and more.

Both Lil Wayne and Gunna are absent and will not be testifying, although Birdman, Rich Homie Quan, and YFN Lucci’s names all appear among the approximately 200 that could be called into court. The removal of Gunna comes after he took a plea deal back in 2022, a decision that garnered plenty of backlash. Check out the latest clip of Thug from the trial below.

Young Thug Bumps Music In Court

Thug was first arrested on gang-related charges back in May 2022 but was later charged with seven additional felonies. The trial didn’t start until November, but even then, there was a multi-week pause in December due to one of the rapper’s co-defendants, Shannon Stillwell, getting stabbed in jail. Doja Cat Gets Restraining Order Against Brother Denied

If you’ve been up to date on what Doja Cat is up to online, you might have seen some concerning news about her brother. Moreover, Raman Dlamini allegedly stole from her and engaged in physically and mental abuse, and also received similar accusations of poor treatment towards their mother, Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer. Her restraining order against him expired, but she’s since gained a new one that will last five years. However, when it comes to the Scarlet superstar, the court reportedly denied a permanent restraining order in her favor against her brother, per AllHipHop. At press time, it’s unclear exactly what prompted this refusal or what grounds it stands on, as this didn’t come with an exoneration or excuse for her brother’s alleged behavior.

Furthermore, these claims come from Doja Cat’s mother, who claimed Raman Dlamini engaged in these crimes “several times” and made them feel “unsafe.” Another allegation concerning this is that the 30-year-old male destroyed property belonging to his 28-year-old sister. “Raman has destroyed and stolen property,” the original filing regarding Doja Cat and her mother read. “Raman has verbally assaulted [Doja] in a very degrading and demeaning [manner]. [He] has made her feel unsafe and traumatized.” In addition, Sawyer claimed that Raman’s actions led to “constant anxiety and fear” in their lives.

For what it’s worth, Doja Cat’s brother previously denied all these allegations. This occurred when a reporter found him out in the open and asked him about it, for which he had strong words. Not only did Raman deny that there was any abuse involved, but he also suggested that he hasn’t spoken to his family in years. As such, this is still a pretty muddy case, especially given the discrepancy between the acceptance and denial of two different restraining orders.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles native recently teased a deluxe version of her latest album, which has fans very excited. Still, this paints any activity from a career standpoint in a darker light. It must be difficult to handle a situation like this with so many other pressures on you. For more news and the latest updates on Doja Cat, check back in with HNHH.

Later, Lucci was sentenced to 10 years in prison and another 10 of probation. However, with time served dating back to January 13, 2021, he’ll be eligible for parole in just a few months. The prosecution has already promised to write a letter recommending him for early release. “After three years of pretrial litigation, more than two weeks of jury selection and three years of incarceration waiting for his jury trial, today, the prosecution finally relented and dismissed the murder and RICO charges against Rayshawn Bennett,” YFN Lucci’s legal team said in a statement provided to ABC News.

Lucci’s attorney, Drew Findling, also shot down rumors he’d be testifying in the YSL RICO trial outside of the courtroom. “Anybody that says that is a liar,” he said. “We all just went to court today. It’s clear as day. There is no corporation in the YSL case. He will not be testifying in that case. If anybody wants to subpoena him, we’ll file a subpoena to squash that subpoena. He wants nothing to do with that case. He’s made that clear. For three and a half years, he has said he knows nothing and will not participate in that case.” Be on the lookout for further updates on YFN Lucci on HotNewHipHop.

Las Vegas Judge Attacker Deobra Redden In Court Again On Separate Charges After Sentencing

Very few victims have the opportunity to sentence their attackers in court, but on Monday (January 8), Judge Mary Kay Holthus once again came face to face with Deobra Redden while seated comfortably at her bench. 2024 began on a wild note in Las Vegas, as the latter lunged at the former during a court hearing for attempted battery conviction charges last week. The incident led to time spent in isolation, as well as a “2C” inmate classification. This is the most restriction an inmate at Clark County Jail can receive, TMZ reports.

When returning to Nevada court this week, the alleged criminal had guards on each side of him, covers on his hands, and a mesh face mask. Even with the past tension between them, Holthus kept her composure during sentencing. She agreed with prosecutors in giving Redden a 19-48 month sentence for the battery incident. Today (January 9), he’s speaking with a different judge in regard to his latest crimes, for which he’s facing 13 charges.

Judge Mary Kay Holthus Sentences Her Attacker in Las Vegas

According to FOX 5 Vegas, Redden has a long list of felony counts against him. Attempted murder against an older person, battery on a protected person resulting in substantial bodily harm against an older person, and extortion are all named. Elsewhere, prosecutors say the inmate is guilty of unlawful act regarding fluid by a prisoner in confinement, and battery by a probationer or parolee. “In the next few days, my office will be reviewing all of the reports to determine what charges to bring based on Mr. Redden’s behaviour in court,” Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson told the outlet. “We’re reviewing all the reports, the witness statements, the extent of the injuries suffered by persons, certainly felony charges without a doubt.”

The past few months have been particularly busy in the crime world, with the YSL RICO trial, YNW Melly’s impending double murder retrial, and Jonathan Majors’ guilty verdict among topics making headlines. Unfortunately for the Florida native, his day in court has been postponed, meaning he’ll be spending even more time awaiting his fate in a cell. Read the latest on Melly at the link below, and check back later for any updates on the situation in Las Vegas.

Young Thug Back In Court As Trial Resumes

Young Thug’s gang and racketeering trial resumed in Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday after a three-week postponement. Judge Ural Glanville pushed back the trial in December due to the stabbing of one of the rapper’s co-defendants, Shannon Stillwell. He is also present in the Fulton County Courthouse.

Thug is on trial for allegedly participating in gang activity as well as conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. His charges stem from being the leader of YSL, which the prosecution claims has ties to the national Bloods organization.

Shannon Stillwell was stabbed back on December 10. The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office previously detailed the attack in a statement provided to XXL. “On the evening of Sunday, December 10, 2023, a fight occurred between Willie Brown and Shannon Jackson at the Rice Street Jail,” it read. “During the fight, Jackson was stabbed multiple times by Brown. Jackson is in stable condition. Brown and Jackson were housed in the same zone. It is unknown what led to the fight. Willie Brown was initially arrested by the East Point Police Department for several charges on July 22, 2020 and was being held without bond. Jackson has been in custody since March 17, 2022.”

Young Thug Appears In Court

Thug has maintained his innocence during the case. His lawyer, Brian Steele, says he “committed no crime whatsoever” and that YSL is simply a record label. Check out a live stream of Thug’s court appearance above. Be on the lookout for further updates on Young Thug’s trial on HotNewHipHop.

Kodak Black Lawyers Seek 90-Day Drug Treatment, He Remains In Federal Custody

No matter how dire things get for Kodak Black at times, his loyal fans continue to root for his success. As blogs began reporting that the “Love & War” artist is in federal custody a few days ago, concern for his wellbeing is on the rise. Today (December 19), Yak was in a Miami federal court with his attorney, speaking with a judge about his alleged probation violation.

NBC Miami reports that the embattled entertainer, born Bill Kapri, had handcuffs on for the duration of the session, during which his legal team presented the possibility of a 90-day drug treatment program in Arizona. The attorneys said Black was facing addiction to Percocet and Oxycodone after a brutal Kentucky prison beatdown in 2020. Authorities aren’t on board with the idea, mostly because it’s “outside the jurisdiction and probation officers would have no control over what he’s doing.”

Kodak Black Might Spend Christmas Behind Bars

The judge in court deferred the final decision to a contemporary who’s overseeing Black’s case. While they wait for updates, the Broward County-born star is remaining in federal custody. Prior to this incident, he was doing incredibly well (considering his past criminal streak). As 2022 began, Kodak was arrested on trespassing charges in Pompano Beach. In 2020, Donald Trump used his last day in office to grant the 26-year-old a pardon approximately halfway through his three-year sentence for falsifying documents used to purchase weapons.

Spending Christmas isn’t the slammer isn’t an ideal situation for anyone, but especially not Kodak Black now that he’s got a pregnant fiancee at home waiting for him. After bonding out of jail earlier this month, the Florida native went Live on IG to address a few things, at which time he shared the exciting news with his followers. NBA YoungBoy Finally Lands Trial Date In Gun Case

NBA YoungBoy will officially be standing trial in his long-standing gun case in July 2024, according to court documents obtained by AllHipHop. The notice went out on December 13. YoungBoy has been on house arrest in Utah while awaiting trial since his 2020 arrest for federal firearms charges.

“Trial (jury) in this matter is hereby assigned for Monday, July 15, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. through Friday, July 25, 2024, in Courtroom 3 before Chief District Judge Shelly D. Dick,” the notice read. “Pretrial Conference is set for Tuesday, June 26, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in chambers before Chief District Judge Shelly D. Dick.”

The arrival of a trial date comes following YoungBoy and his team’s request that the terms of his house arrest be relaxed. They cited his worsening mental health as well as difficulty producing music. “Being confined to his home and unable to complete his employment obligations has led to great anxiety, depression, loss of weight, and sleep. Mr. Gaulden [NBA YoungBoy] has been visibly stressed and has expressed concern and loss of hope that he will be able to return to his contracted employment obligation,” his lawyers said. They added that his sales have “suffered” due to his “limited ability to produce quality recordings.” They also added that he’s already “exhausted all his options for recording in his home with a very limited production crew.”

In response, prosecutors argued that the request was not specific enough about the details of working in outside studios. “Where are the studios? Who is allowed there? Will individuals that are not allowed at his home be present at the studios? How many people will be at the studios?” were among the questions they raised. The judge has not ruled on that request yet. Be on the lookout for further updates on NBA YoungBoy’s case on HotNewHipHop.

Ja Morant Shows How To Check A Ball During Court Appearance: Watch

Ja Morant is currently being sued by Joshua Holloway, according to TMZ. Overall, this stems from an alleged incident that took place at Morant’s home. Essentially, Morant was playing pick-up basketball with Holloway when things turned violent. Holloway claims Morant assaulted him and was unrelenting. However, Morant has maintained the entire time that he was simply trying to protect himself and act in self-defense. This was all reported on in the midst of Morant’s troubles with guns and NBA suspensions.

Subsequently, Morant is now in court as a result of this lawsuit. The court proceedings began on Monday, and Morant was there to tell his side of the story. As he explains, Holloway checked a ball extremely hard, right into his face. This hurt the NBA star and he immediately responded by saying “what you on.” From there, Morant alleges that Holloway lifted up his shorts in a menacing fashion. Morant described this as a “fighting stance” and was adamant that he was being threatened. When Holloway approached him, Morant physically struck him.

Ja Morant Gives A Demonstration

That is when Morant faced an attorney and showcased how to do the move properly. This was all done as a way to showcase that Holloway may have been acting in a reckless manner. Some on social media felt like this was all pretty ridiculous and just a bit mesmerizing, at the same time. After all, Morant is still serving a suspension, and some feel like he is being hit with way too many punishments, this included.
