2 Chainz Speaks On Upcoming Project With Lil Wayne

Hip-hop icons 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne have been collaborating on a project for some time now. Fans cannot wait to see what the two powerhouses have in store. The two rappers have a long history of working together, and their chemistry is undeniable. With both artists at the top of their game, this collaborative album is going to be one for the books. And now 2 Chainz has finally been dropping some well-awaited updates on the album. He goes into some detail and also shares what he has learned in the process.

2 Chainz, born Tauheed Epps, burst onto the hip-hop scene in the mid-2000s as one-half of the group Playaz Circle. He gained wider recognition with his solo debut album, “Based on a T.R.U. Story”. Since then, he has become one of the most respected and sought-after rappers in the game. He is well-known for his witty wordplay and big personality. As a result, he is not unfamiliar with working with other big stars. Lil Wayne is also no stranger to the hip-hop world and is widely recognized as one of the greatest rappers of all time. It’s not a surprise that the two would decide to collaborate on an album together.

2 Chainz Shares His Wisdom

In a recent Instagram story, 2 Chainz decides to give his fans an update on his shared project with Lil Wayne. He states that they have been working on this album for a while now, at least two to three years. Chainz is excited to bring their collaboration to the market for their fans to enjoy. The artist is also honest about how much he has to learn in the music industry. “I’m still learning stuff. I’m still learning things in this business.” Despite his massive success, 2 Chainz remains humble.

The hip-hop artist also felt compelled to drop some advice onto his fans. “And one thing that I have learned in this process is that no response is a response.” However, Chainz does not elaborate as to why he might have said this in the first place. In the highly competitive world of hip-hop, it’s easy for any two artists to become rivals. But 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne have shown that when two talented musicians band together, the results can be nothing short of amazing.

Juelz Santana Teases 21 Savage Collaboration

Juelz Santana revealed that he’s secured a collaboration with 21 Savage for his next album. The iconic New York rapper shared a screenshot of his text exchange with 21 on Instagram over the weekend. The conversation began with Santana sending over a track tentatively titled “Dead Ops.”

“Can we do this joint for my album bro,” Santana wrote to 21 Savage, who replied, “Got you!!!!” From there, Santana said, “Let’s Go. I waited I didn’t jus wanna send u anything. Dis joint got u all on it.” 21 wrote back: “Shit hard,” to which Santana said, “FACTS.” Santana captioned the post: “HEAVY ⓂOTION LETS GOOOOOOO…”

News of the collaboration comes just months after Santana spoke out to defend 21 following his controversial comments on Nas’ relevancy. 21 had said that he felt the legendary rapper is “not relevant.” Both Santana and his Dipset partner, Jim Jones, defended the opinion. “I’m just looking at what 21 Savage was saying. I don’t think that he meant it as what people were taking it as, or shit like that,” Jones explained. “Because in today’s society, with the younger generation, these kids are very lit out here, and they put ‘lit’ and ‘relevant’ in the same thing, when it’s two different things.” Santana elaborated: “I think they should have found out what 21’s definition of relevant is, too. When you ask questions, you got to be real particular ’cause he’s just talking …”

Santana also linked up with 21 Savage at Drake’s concert at the Apollo Theater, earlier this year. He joined Freekey Zekey, Cam’ron, and Jim Jones for performances of “I Really Mean It,” “Dipset Anthem” and “We Fly High (Ballin’).” 21 had collaborated with Drake on their album Her Loss. Santana has been teasing a new album with DJ Drama for months now. “We In Motion… The Album…Top Of The Year…long Time Coming #ICFMF #BackOutSide,” Santana captioned a post from December while announcing the project.

Tyga & YG Tease Collaborative Album At Rolling Loud

Tyga and YG confirmed that they intend to release a collaborative album together in the near future while performing at Rolling Loud on Friday night in California. On stage, the two rappers performed their 2019 collaboration, “Go Loko.” “You know what I’m saying?” Tyga says in a video from the performance. “We only came up with one song, but now we about to drop the new album coming soon.”

YG and Tyga dropped “Go Loko” back on May 3, 2019. The song debuted at number 71 on the US Billboard Hot 100 before peaking at number 49. It was featured on YG’s album 4Real 4Real. Tyga spoke about the inspiration for his contribution to the track while speaking with The Recording Academy. He explained: “Growing up in L.A., it’s a really big culture here. Even YG could tell you, he grew up around all Mexicans, so we really wanted to do something to give back to the culture.”

Tyga and YG previously worked together on the latter’s song, “Run,” which was released in 2022, independent of YG’s album from the same year, I Got Issues. Speaking with Billboard at the time, YG explained: “Me and Tyga were in the studio just trying to plot like, ‘What should we do for the video?’ There’s only so much you can do with that type of song. We ain’t wanna do like a flashy rap video, driving around in the cars. I got plenty of them.” The two have also worked together on “Bitches Ain’t Shit” from 2011.

There is still one more day left to catch more top artists perform at Rolling Loud. Future, Polo G, and Sheck Wes will all headline on Sunday. Other acts include Lil Uzi Vert, Trippie Redd, Lil Yachty, Ice Spice, Coi Leray, and more. The sets can be live-streamed online throughout the night here. Earlier in the weekend, Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, and more took over the festival.

DJ Drama Previews Nipsey Hussle Collab On “I’m Really Like That” Album

We’re slowly approaching the four-year anniversary of Nipsey Hussle’s untimely passing. The rapper was shot and killed in his stomping grounds in L.A. on March 31st, 2019. Fans and friends have kept his name alive since then, while many have sought justice against the man who murdered Nip in broad daylight. Last week, a judge handed down a 60-year to a life sentence to Eric Holder for the death of Nip. Though many expressed relief, it doesn’t bring Nipsey Hussle back.

Since his passing, fans have cherished Nipsey’s catalog even more. He released a handful of classic mixtapes throughout his career and only dropped one album, Victory Lap. From his early bangers to the Grammy-nominated, “Racks In The Middle,” Nipsey Hussle boasts a timeless catalog. However, there have been very few updates surrounding any posthumous releases. His family hasn’t shared any plans to drop unreleased records, though he’s posthumously appeared on a few singles alongside legends like Jay-Z and Dr. Dre.

DJ Drama Previews Nipsey Hussle Track

It seems like another posthumous record from Nipsey Hussle might be coming soon. This week, DJ Drama hit fans with a preview of a verse from Nip that will presumably land on the DJ’s next album. The verse itself, however, isn’t actually new, despite claims that the verse is unreleased. Drama reused Nip’s verse from 2016’s “State Of Mind” for the record, which he described as being a big tune on his upcoming project, I’m Really Like That.

DJ Drama and Nipsey Hussle are no strangers to each other. Prior to the release of Victory Lap, Nip linked up with Drama for the third part of the Marathon series, Crenshaw. Unfortunately, we didn’t get many collaborations from them since then. If Nip was still with us today, it would’ve been amazing to see how he would’ve approached a Gangsta Grillz mixtape. Nonetheless, we’re excited to hear what Drama has cooking up on his forthcoming album. Check the snippet above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments. We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding DJ Drama’s upcoming project, I’m Really Like That.

Don Toliver & Travis Scott Team Up On “Embarrassed”

Don Toliver finally came through with his latest body of work this weekend, Love Sick. Though he largely remained low in 2022, he assured fans that he was working on his next body of work. Throughout the year, he delivered a few guest appearances and “Do It Right,” which kicked the campaign off for the project. However, he didn’t necessarily provide any major updates on the project until earlier this year when he unloaded the single, “4 Me” ft. Kali Uchis.

Love Sick found Don Toliver working alongside a significant amount of collaborators from across the world. Artists like James Blake and WizKid contributed to the tracklist, while many of hip-hop’s mainstays, such as Lil Durk and Future, delivered with guest appearances. Additionally, Don Toliver worked alongside figures like Brent Faiyaz, Toro Y Moi, and Charlie Wilson. Despite the incredible list of artists featured on the projects, Cactus Jack head honcho, Travis Scott was nowhere to be found. However, Toliver shared the deluxe edition with four new songs this morning, including the long-awaited collab alongside the Astroworld artist.

Don Toliver – “Embarrassed” ft. Travis Scott

The deluxe edition of Love Sick contains several new records that expand the original 16-song tracklist to 20 but it seems like Toliver saved his anticipated collab with Travis Scott for the re-release. The two rappers join forces, once again, for their latest collaboration, “Embarrassed” produced by Wheezy. Their spacey, melodic deliveries take center stage over the psychedelic string-laden production as they reflect on sex, diamonds, and living a life of luxury.

“Embarrassed” further extends Don Toliver and Travis Scott’s impressive track record together they built over the years. Scott appeared twice on Life Of A Don on “You” and “Flocky Flocky.” Additionally, they connected on “Euphoria.” Most recently, they shared the mic on DJ Khaled’s “Let’s Pray.” Check out their latest collab above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Missy Elliott And Timbaland Hint At Collaborating Again

From childhood friends to music collaborators, Missy Elliott and Timbaland have shared an iconic bond throughout their endeavors. The Swing Mob members have both taken to social media this weekend to hint at a long-awaited new project. On Sunday (February 26th), Missy posted on her story “it’s go time,” and tagged Timbaland in the post. The “Apologize” rapper returned his enthusiasm by posting the story, writing, “time for us to press that go button.” He also added, “we n our bag like always.”

Over the years, the pair have co-conspired a number of hits, including Missy’s first five albums. As they have navigated from hit to hit, they have never been afraid to experiment with the sounds of rap and push the genre into new domains. Most recently, the duo linked up for Missy’s 2019 EP Iconology, where Timbaland added his production flavor to “DripDemeanor” and “Why I Still Love You.”

Missy And Timbaland Tease At A New Project

Although it’s been years since this iconic duo has worked up their magic together in the studio, they both have expanded their discographies independently. Missy released “Ratata” this year with Skrillex, and featured on David Guetta and Afrojack’s single “Trampoline.” Timbaland, on the other hand, has primarily remained producing. His most recent efforts have been featured in Jack Harlow’s Come Home the Kids Miss You and The Game’s Drillmatic – Heart vs. Mind. Seemingly, it looks like Timbaland and Missy are both returning to their roots for the start of the new year.

When recounting the successes of her previous albums, Missy has never been shy at pointing out Timbaland’s contributions. Upon reflection of Da Real World, she tweeted, “I was so hard on myself & for a while this was my least favorite until years later I realized the MASTERPIECE @Timbaland & I had created.” In remembrance of her 2001 album, Miss E… So Addictive, she tweeted how the duo was able to expand their experimentation: “we were open to showing what the FUTURE of music could sound like in our minds.” Regardless of what these partners are cooking up in the studio now, it’s safe to say it will exceed expectations. Meyhem Lauren, DJ Muggs & Madlib Collide On “Fresh Out The Water”

Meyhem Lauren’s cooking up something serious these days. The Queens-bred rapper has delivered some incredible records in recent times, which felt like a strong comeback following a successful venture on television. The rapper joined Action Bronson on Fuck, That’s Delicious but that appeared to open the gates for more food-related ventures. His YouTube channel, for instance, finds him exploring some of his favorite recipes while adding his own twist to them.

However, he hasn’t forgotten about his fans, who are always here for new music. Last year, he emerged with his latest body of work, Black Vladimir. The album, a collaborative effort alongside Griselda go-to Daringer, brought included 15 songs in total while Meyhem collided with beastly MCs, like Westside Gunn, Conway, Flee Lord, and more. However, it looks like the late August project was a taste of what he has in store moving forward.

Meyhem Lauren – Fresh Out The Water ft. Madlib and DJ Muggs

While we saw with Meyhem Lauren could do when he locks in with one producer, his next project will have two legendary producers handling the beats. This week, he slid through with the first single off of his upcoming joint effort with Madlib and DJ Muggs, “Fresh Out The Water.” The hypnotic vocal sample and crispy drums are a fusion of Madlib and Muggs’ signature styles while Lauren doesn’t hold back. “The system tried to turn us to workers so they could jerk us/  Opponents look for open opportunities to merk us,” he raps on the record.

Though he hasn’t laid down a release date for the project, “Fresh Out The Water” is a promising sign of what’s to come. Madlib and Muggs have yet to work together on a project in the past, so it feels as though Meyhem Lauren has all the pieces in place for a strong Album Of The Year contender. We’ll keep you posted on any more information regarding the forthcoming project. For now, press play on the single above and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Iggy Azalea Hopes For Another Collaboration With Britney Spears

In 2015, Iggy Azalea linked up with Britney Spears for the release of “Pretty Girls.” Back then, the pop icon was still under conservatorship. On her appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the Aussie rapper openly revealed how she was down to work with Spears again. “My collaboration with her is always one of my favorite collaborations,” the 32-year-old explained, “I feel like… I’ve spoken about this before but I just feel like there was so much we wanted to do with it and we never got to do what we wanted to do.”

Azalea was vocal about her support for Spears prior to the termination of her 13-year conservatorship. Previously, the 41-year-old was forced to relinquish her personal and financial decision rights to her father. After fighting in court for her rights, and proving the terms of her situation as abusive, Spears gained independence in 2021. Leading up to her win, supporters flooded social media pages using the #FreeBritney movement, which Azalea contributed to on Twitter. In her post, she mentioned how she “personally witnessed” the torment that Spears was fighting against from her father, according to ET.

Iggy Azalea Reveals That Her And Britney Still Keep In Touch

Needless to say, the “Black Widow” rapper stood in support of Spears during her emotional support. Azalea reveals to Cohen that she and Spears keep in touch on Instagram, often exchanging messages. When asked to elaborate on her interest in collaborating again with the “Oops!… I Did It Again” singer, Azalea reflected on her colleague’s new circumstances. “She was so limited, obviously. Now she has the ability to do it her way 100 percent,” she tells Cohen. “I love Britney, and she’s so much more creative than what people give her credit for.”

Spears’s first release after regaining her creative freedom was “Hold Me Closer” with Elton John. Azalea shared her admiration for the project, saying, “what she did with Elton was so amazing and I would love to be a part of more of anything that she had to do, especially when they’re 100 percent her own ideas.” To keep in touch with the hottest news in hip-hop, stay in the loop with HNHH.
