Benzino & Coi Leray’s Financial Beef: He Says She Tried To Embarrass Him

Benzino hopped back on Instagram Live to talk about his current struggles with his daughter, Coi Leray. Moreover, he previously expressed a lack of embarrassment at the fact that she recently revealed, concerning that he asked her for money. Now, the media personality explained that he didn’t feel embarrassed by this, although he probably won’t make that request to his kids again. As such, he asked the haters to back off, or at least to acknowledge that he doesn’t care about the backlash. Lastly, the former co-owner of The Source described himself as having “post-traumatic street syndrome,” indicating his relationship with cash.

In addition, this spat also went into why Benzino thinks Coi Leray is being dishonest about her upbringing. “She said she slept in cars, she ain’t never slept in no f***ing cars,” he ranted. “That I knew about, you know. I had my daughter five months out the year. I was with her mother until she was nine, then I had her five months out the year. She lived with me twice, in Atlanta she went to Campbell High School. I was a single dad, and I was taking care of my kids. All of my kids. And her two older brothers by two other men that wasn’t mine… looks like she’s almost brainwashed. She ain’t ever slept in no cars or sold drugs. I don’t know why she’s running with this narrative.”

“I wish that he would just respect that,” Coi Leray said of the distance in her relationship with her father. “Again, the interview was done in June. I haven’t said anything since but, respectfully, I wish that we could just keep everything offline moving forward. We don’t got to have a relationship but I’m still your kid, it is what it is. So, just respect the fact that what you’re doing is not cool.

“Instead of you congratulating me and be happy for me, you want to go online and try and use me to prove yourself to these people in this industry on why you didn’t get the respect or whatever is it that you deserve,” she continued. “I don’t want to be your clout kid. I rather us, again, just hit me offline.” For more news and the latest updates on Benzino and Coi Leray, check back in with HNHH.

Meek Mill Also Says He Will “Completely Stop Smoking,” Joining Snoop Dogg

It appears that Snoop Dogg has set a trend. After his announcement to quit smoking came yesterday, another rapper has followed suit. Meek Mill has now announced his decision to quit smoking, following in the footsteps of fellow hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg. Snoop’s revelation that he was bidding farewell to his beloved “smoke” on Thursday (November 16) sent surprise through the industry, prompting Meek to make a public commitment to kick the habit as well. Taking to Twitter to share his resolution with fans, Meek Mill declared, “Ima go to Dubai and completely stop smoking. ima follow snoop, my doctor said I got a lil bit emphysema in a chest if I don’t stop smoking it cuts my lifeline in half. I was addicted to the nicotine and this new weed got too many chemicals and too risky to play with my mental!”

The unexpected declaration sheds light on the often-overlooked health risks associated with prolonged cannabis use. Meek Mill’s reference to emphysema serves as a reminder that even seemingly harmless habits can have severe consequences. Emphysema is a chronic lung disease that can significantly reduce one’s quality of life, making it a serious concern for individuals who engage in smoking, whether it be traditional tobacco or the increasingly potent strains of marijuana.

Meek Mill Quits Due To Health Reasons

The rapper’s decision to quit is not only a personal health choice but also a candid acknowledgment of the evolving landscape of cannabis consumption. Meek’s assertion that the “new weed” contains too many chemicals highlights a growing concern within the industry regarding the potential risks associated with modern cultivation practices. This unexpected announcement by two prominent figures in the rap world may trigger a broader conversation about the impact of substance use on mental and physical well-being within the music community.

In addition, Coi Leray was another person who announced she’d be following suit after Snoop. While Coi announced her departure from marijuana, she said she’d be doing so after Thanksgiving. Moreoever, as Meek Mill and Snoop Dogg embark on this unexpected journey to a smoke-free lifestyle, their candid admissions serve as a testament to the changing attitudes towards substance use in the music industry. It remains to be seen whether their choices will influence others to reconsider their habits and prioritize a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle.

Snoop Dogg’s Shocking Vow To ‘Give Up Smoke’ Actually Inspired Some Other Rappers To Quit Smoking Weed

Yesterday (November 16), Snoop Dogg shocked the world with the following announcement shared on social media: “After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time.”

Is Snoop, perhaps the biggest cannabis icon of all time, really done with smoking weed? Who knows. His specific phrasing of “give up smoke” may be a little suspicious. Maybe Snoop’s generating viral attention to later introduce a line of edibles on the way? Whatever the case may be, his words have had a clear impact, and that includes on some fellow rappers, who saw what Snoop said and decided to give up weed.

After Snoop shared his announcement, Meek Mill re-posted it on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Ima go to Dubai and completely stop smoking … ima follow snoop, my doctor said I got a lil bit emphysema in a chest if I don’t stop smoking it cuts my lifeline in half, I was addicted to the nicotine and this new weed got too many chemicals and too risky to play with my mental!”

Coi Leray was also moved by Snoop’s post, as she declared in an Instagram Story that she plans to stop smoking after Thanksgiving next week.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith had quite the reaction, too.

[WATCH] Benzino Snaps On IG Live: ‘Yeah I Called You For Money’

Screen Shot 2023 11 16 at 10.33.08 AM

This week has seen a publicized rift between rapper Coi Leray and her father, Benzino, unraveling on social media and in interviews. The dispute began after Coi Leray discussed her relationship with her father in a recent interview, where she claimed that Benzino harbored envy towards her success. However, Benzino vehemently denied these allegations, accusing his daughter of perpetuating a false narrative and even suggesting that the interview was manipulated to create tension.

In the interview that sparked the controversy, Coi Leray expressed her belief that her father was envious of her accomplishments in the music industry. This prompted Benzino to publicly refute these claims, asserting that he was not envious and accusing his daughter of misrepresenting their relationship. He also took aim at radio personality Angie Martinez, alleging that she purposefully fueled the flames during the interview.

Adding fuel to the fire, Benzino shared a video attempting to debunk some of Coi Leray’s assertions about her life before finding success in the rap industry. He contested her claims of sleeping in cars and selling drugs, vehemently stating, “She ain’t ever slept in no cars or sold drugs. I don’t know why she’s running with this narrative,” in the video.

In an attempt to de-escalate the situation, Coi Leray addressed the ongoing feud earlier today. She urged her father to respect the privacy of their family matters, emphasizing that the interview took place in June, and she had refrained from commenting further until now. Leray expressed her desire to keep their family issues offline, urging for a more private resolution.
Despite Coi Leray’s call for a truce, Benzino has once again responded to his daughter’s statements, further prolonging the public dispute. Whether through social media or another medium, he continues to engage in the ongoing conversation, keeping the tension alive.

As their family drama unfolds on social media and through public statements, it remains to be seen whether the family will find a resolution behind closed doors or if their personal matters will continue to be aired for public consumption.

The saga serves as a reminder that even in the world of fame and success, family dynamics can play out in a very public and often messy manner.

Coi Leray Absolutely Shredded Benzino For Creating ‘Craziness’ About Her Past: ‘I Don’t Want to Be Your Clout Kid’

Coi Leray isn’t happy her father Benzino has been contradicting her recollections of her upbringing. On a recent episode of Angie Martinez’s podcast, IRL, the “Players” rapper recalled her mom “cooking up nickels and dimes” to support them (as in, selling crack) and sleeping in cars. However, Benzino disputed this during a recent Instagram Live session, arguing, “She ain’t never slept in no f**king cars that I knew about.”

It looks like Coi is fed up with Benzino offering counterexamples of his good parenting because she lit into him in an Instagram session of her own. “[I watch] him go online and just create craziness for no reason,” she said. “And if you notice, it has been a pattern for some time now…. It just seems like every single time, instead of you congratulating me and being happy for me, you want to go online and try to use me to prove yourself to these people and this industry on why you feel like you didn’t get the respect or whatever it is that you deserve. I don’t want to be your clout kid.”

She also pointed out, “I don’t have to get on here and lie about struggle. I don’t think anybody wants to do that. But, yeah, I think that’s corny. I have a mugshot. Ask my mom… I don’t [want to] have to speak on this ever again. He made it very clear that he never wants to speak to me again… Again, the interview was done in June. I haven’t said anything since. But, respectfully, I wish that we could kind just keep everything offline moving forward. I’d rather you just do that on a respectful level of just me being your daughter at the end of the day.”

Coi Leray Vows To Never Mention Benzino Again: “I Don’t Want To Be Your Clout Kid”

Coi Leray and Benzino’s relationship has had its fair share of ups and downs, to say the least. Most recently, Coi Leray appeared on Angie Martinez’s podcast where she suggested that her father’s “envious” of her success. “How tf can be envious towards someone I RAISED, NUTURED, PROVIDED FOR, INFLUENCED, AND LOVE VERY DEARLY???” Benzino said in response. “In my 40 years in hip hop I’ve never ever seen an artist DOG their parents out the way Coi does and it’s embarrassing and sad.”

While this wasn’t the first time they’ve traded words online, Coi Leray wants it to be the last. The Grammy-nominated artist spoke out on Instagram Live where she not only stated that she won’t speak on him but claimed that Zino said that he doesn’t want to speak to her again. “I wish that he would just respect that – again, the interview was done in June. I haven’t said anything since but, respectfully, I wish that we could just keep everything offline moving forward,” she said.

Coi Leray Doesn’t Want To Be Benzino’s “Clout Kid”

Ultimately, Coi primary request is that Benzino keeps his feelings off the internet. “We don’t got to have a relationship but I’m still your kid, it is what it is. So, just respect the fact that what you’re doing is not cool,” she said. She added that their family also sees their constant feuding on social media. She said that this issue with Benzino has occurred time and time again since he leaked information about Nicki Minaj’s verse on “Blick Blick.”

Coi went on to explain that this became a pattern where he’d use the negative headlines to speak on his own heyday. “Instead of you congratulating me and be happy for me, you want to go online and try and use me to prove yourself to these people in this industry on why you didn’t get the respect or whatever is it that you deserve,” she added. “I don’t want to be your clout kid. I rather us, again, just hit me offline.” Finally, she vowed to never speak on Benzino again in any more interviews.

[WATCH] Benzino Says Daughter/Rapper Coi Leray Lied About Sleeping In Cars

coi

Last summer, rapper Coi Leray and her estranged father Raymond “Benzino” Scott appeared to have been on good terms after Benzino showed up for one of Coi’s concerts. Now Benzino is upset again after Coi called him jealous of her in an interview with Angie Martinez…Benzino went live on Instagram and flipped out on his daughter for accusing him of being jealous and claims Coi is lying about sleeping in cars and dealing drugs.

He wrote on his Instagram page:

This has to be the most ridiculous 💩 I’ve heard in my entire life on this earth. How tf can be envious towards someone I RAISED, NUTURED, PROVIDED FOR, INFLUENCED AND LOVE VERY DEARLY??? This industry and the internet have completely messed up the minds of this young generation. I’m tired of her pushing a false narrative about who I am and what I’ve done as a father. In my 40 years in hip hop I’ve never ever seen an artist DOG their parents out the was Coi does and it’s embarrassing and sad…and one last thing, @angiemartinez knows she doesn’t like me so she’s just being manipulative and messy. They want me crash out but I’ve worked on myself so hard that I ain’t going backwards for ANYTHING, but what I won’t do is allow ANYONE to slander my name and push a false narrative on my reputation and who I am. I’ve shed too many blood, sweat and tears, survived street wars and indictments. Nope no more.

Benzino Says Coi Leray’s Belief He Was ‘Envious’ of Her Career is ‘Ridiculous’

coi

Benzino and his daughter Coi Leray have a hot and cold relationship in the media. Leray appeared on Angie Martinez’s IRL Podcast and stated that her success made the relationship with her father “rocky.”

“I felt like he couldn’t handle my success,” Leray said. “I felt like it did come from an envious place, which is okay, cause he’s human, and it’s fine. He’s one of those people that feels like ‘Yo, I still have a story to tell.’”

Think Benzino took that lightly? Of course not. Hitting Instagram, Benzino called the belief ridiculous.

“This has to be the most ridiculous 💩 I’ve heard in my entire life on this earth. How tf can be envious towards someone I RAISED, NUTURED, PROVIDED FOR, INFLUENCED AND LOVE VERY DEARLY??? This industry and the internet have completely messed up the minds of this young generation.”

Earlier this year, Benzino saw his daughter, rapper Coi Leray, perform for the first time since their estranged relationship went public.

He revealed through tears he was hurt when Coi called him a dead beat dad. Coi Leray and Benzino have publicly called each other out online and went back & forth over the years. Benzino famously leaked news of a Nicki Minaj and Coi Leray collaboration before she was able to release it allegedly causing Nicki to almost pull the record, She’s said the rapper was absent in her life, but Benzino disagreed.

Coi Leray Didn’t Sell Drugs Or Sleep In Cars, Benzino Insists Amid Father-Daughter Tension

Coi Leray and Benzino don’t always take their drama to the internet, but when they do, we feel it. The pair seemed to be on good terms a few months back, though the “Blick Blick” artist’s comments about her father during a recent interview with Angie Martinez rubbed him the wrong way. “At first it was rocky, because I felt like he couldn’t handle my success,” Leray told the podcaster of how her and Benzino’s relationship changed during her rise to fame. “[It’s] okay because he’s human, that’s fine.”

Though she admittedly gave him some grace, the former media titan is having a hard time hearing some of what his child had to say. He’s already put her and Martinez on blast for spreading a “false narrative” about him, as well as Busta Rhymes for filming a music video with a half-naked Leray not too long ago. On Monday (November 13), Benzino had more to get off his chest on Live. “She said she slept in cars, she ain’t never slept in no f**king cars,” the 58-year-old’s rant began.

Benzino Has More Thoughts on Coi Leray’s New Interview

“That I knew about, you know. I had my daughter five months out the year,” he added. “I was with her mother until she was nine, then I had her five months out the year. She lived with me twice, in Atlanta she went to Campbell High School. I was a single dad, and I was taking care of my kids. All of my kids,” Benzino went off, the emotion in his voice growing. “And her two older brothers by two other men that wasn’t mine… [Coi] looks like she’s almost brainwashed. She ain’t ever slept in no cars or sold drugs. I don’t know why she’s running with this narrative.” Leray has yet to respond, but if she does choose to address her father, we know she won’t hold back on speaking her truth.

No matter what’s going on in her personal life with Benzino or her other relationships, Coi Leray continues to kill it musically. Her latest release was in tandem with Lola Brooke for the New York native’s debut album, Dennis Daughter, which you can check out at the link below. Benzino Blasts Coi Leray & Angie Martinez For “Pushing A False Narrative” About Him

After making her presence fully felt in 2022, some wondered how Coi Leray could top her success in 2023. The Boston-born baddie delivered her sophomore LP, COI, a few months back, and though the numbers were slightly lower than her debut, many titles on the tracklist managed to go viral on platforms like TikTok. In addition to sharing music of her own, Leray has been working with other stars like Lola Brooke, RAYE, and Busta Rhymes in recent months, putting out catchy collaborations for her fans to play on repeat.

Despite all that she’s achieved in life so far, one area of the black-haired beauty’s life that remains troubled is her relationship with her father, Benzino. We saw them share a sweet moment back in September when responding to an apparent diss from Latto, however, feelings have obviously changed based on what Leray had to say in her new interview with Angie Martinez. According to the Trendsetter, she feels as though The Source legend is “envious” of all that she’s accomplishing.

Coi Leray Sits Down with Angie Martinez

“At first it was rocky, because I felt like he couldn’t handle my success,” she told the radio personality. “[It’s] okay because he’s human, that’s fine,” Leray noted, not holding too much animosity toward her father. Despite her calmness in sharing her feelings, Benzino had plenty to get off his chest in an angry IG rant. “This has to be the most ridiculous 💩 I’ve heard in my entire life on this earth. How tf can be envious towards someone I RAISED, NUTURED, PROVIDED FOR, INFLUENCED AND LOVE VERY DEARLY???” he asked on Friday (November 10) afternoon.

“This industry and the internet have completely messed up the minds of this young generation. I’m tired of her pushing a false narrative about who I am and what I’ve done as a father. In my 40 years in hip hop I’ve never ever seen an artist DOG their parents out the [way] Coi does and it’s embarrassing and sad,” the 58-year-old went on. After giving his daughter a piece of his mind, Benzino then went in on Martinez. “@angiemartinez knows she doesn’t like me so she’s just being manipulative and messy,” he speculated. “They want me [to] crash out but I’ve worked on myself so hard that I ain’t going backwards for ANYTHING,” Zino promised.
