Chloe Bailey Declares ‘F*ck Your Status’ On Her Newly Announced Single, Which Arrives This Week

Chloe Bailey (also known as Chlöe) had an outstanding 2023, releasing her debut album, In Pieces, playing her first-ever solo headlining tour to promote it, and appearing in a pair of television projects, the obsessed-fan thriller Swarm and the comedic choir competition film, Praise This.

After taking some time off, it looks like Chlöe is coming back for another round in 2024, as she shared a pre-save link for her first single of the year, “F*ck Your Status.” She also shared a snippet of the song’s vocal intro, which resolves into a heavy bass instrumental just before the cut. It sounds like her future material will continue in the same vein as many of the songs from In Pieces, addressing themes of relationships and the emotional entanglements that complicate them.

The 25-year-old singer has yet to announce plans for a follow-up to In Pieces, but one seems likelier than the reunion with her sister Halle she teased in January. While fans have been clamoring for a new Chloe X Halle album since 2021, the sisters’ pursuit of their respective solo projects put those plans on hold. Then, just when it seemed as though they’d get the chance to follow through after Halle completed her obligations to film projects The Little Mermaid and The Color Purple, she got a baby for Christmas. Being a new mom is pretty time-consuming, so the assumption now is that Chlöe will continue with her solo career and we’ll just have to wait a little bit longer for that Chloe X Halle album.

Chloe Bailey Showered With Love From Fans After Recent Instagram Post

One of Pandora’s new ambassadors, Chloe Bailey, is getting the love she deserves on social media for a recent Instagram post, which she captioned “whole lotta woman.” Moreover, it follows and features a recent performance with BJ The Chicago Kid, showing off her raw vocal chops and stylish look. Not only did fellow superstars like the Georgia native’s sister Halle Bailey, Muni Long, and Flo Milli sing their praises, but everyday fans expressed a lot of support and admiration. “u ate that performance ofc,” one wrote, whereas another shared, “Absolutely stunning. Not alot… THE WHOLE DAMN THANG.” Folks must pray for Internet clout like this…

Sure, it also came with its critics, but compared to what the R&B artist has been through before, this is a wonderful improvement. Whether it was due to her alleged dating life, performances, music, or life choices, it seems like everybody had something negative to say about her just a few months ago. Fortunately, that died down eventually -– as most social media fads tend to do -– and it doesn’t feel like a hate campaign anymore. Chloe Bailey is excited to stay afloat and grow even more, and we know that she can handle the heat.

Chloe Bailey Stuns In New IG Post

Furthermore, this is great motivation to see because Chloe X Halle are coming with new music very soon, reports indicate. While this news claims that the In Pieces hitmaker herself confirmed this, we couldn’t find anything online that suggests this, although both teased new music without confirming whether it’s solo or a team-up. Either way, fans of good soul and immaculate vibes are probably very excited for this. Even though Chloe Bailey dropped recently, it’s always a possibility that she strikes again while the iron is hot.

Meanwhile, she also recently reflected on how she helped make her sister Halle’s pregnancy the “best-kept secret ever.” Of course, it didn’t exactly end up being that, but it was certainly an effort. Chlöe Bailey Told Halle To Ignore Social Media In Order To Keep Her Pregnancy The ‘Best Kept Secret Ever’

Uproxx cover star Chlöe Bailey did a recent interview with People Magazine, where she discussed her sister Halle’s pregnancy and how they tried to hide it until she was ready to share her baby with the world. As Chlöe put it, it was the “best kept secret ever.”

“We just ignore it,” she shared. “I would tell her, like, take social media off your phone, you know, I keep all her other secrets. So this was just another one in the books.”

Chlöe herself is also “on cloud nine” about the fact that she’s now an aunt. Halle and her boyfriend, DDG, welcomed their son, Halo, which they revealed earlier this month through an Instagram post.

Both the sisters are still keeping busy. Chlöe performed at the Urban One Honors: Best In Black event. Halle is set to host a Masterclass that fans can livestream, which will be part of the festivities for Grammy Week. More information about that can be found here.

Chlöe also recently teased during a TikTok livestream that the two could be reuniting to put out some new music. Both sisters worked on their solo projects, with Chlöe dropping In Pieces, and Halle appearing as the lead in the live-action Little Mermaid.

Now that Halle Bailey has finally revealed the birth of her and DDG’s baby Halo, the floodgates of pregnancy content have opened. After months of Halle staying off social media to protect her mental health, she’s apparently given her sister Chloe the green light to start sharing the videos and photos the two inevitably shot during the pregnancy. Chloe’s first post shows that the baby weight didn’t slow the younger Bailey down one bit as the sisters teamed up to twerk it out to Drake’s For All The Dogs ratchet favorite, “Rich Baby Daddy” featuring Sexyy Red and SZA.

The rumors of Halle’s pregnancy swirled throughout the last quarter of 2023 as the Color Purple star mostly stayed out of the press cycle for the film despite playing a major role in it and being featured heavily in the trailers. Any appearances she did make in public were in very baggy clothing to hide the baby bump. However, the sisters — and DDG — went to extreme lengths to downplay the rumors, with Chloe appearing to address them by telling fans to “keep my sister’s name out your mouth” and DDG trolling fans with a baby doll on a livestream.

Now that the baby has arrived, though, he already has over 50,000 followers on Instagram, despite only having one photo. But in terms of the Bailey fam social media, it seems we’re mostly just happy to see more Chloe X Halle content — and the potential for a follow-up to Ungodly Hour.

Chloe Bailey Earned A Big Dionne Warwick Smile After Her Powerful ‘Walk On By’ Cover At The 46th Kennedy Center Honors

On Wednesday night, December 27, CBS aired The 46th Kennedy Center Honors, taped on December 3 in Washington, DC. The nearly two-hour television special began with Dionne Warwick, one of five 2023 honorees alongside Barry Gibb, Billy Crystal, Queen Latifah, and Renée Fleming.

Following a biographical video montage narrated by Jennifer Hudson and Cynthia Erivo’s performance of “Alfie,” Ego Nwodim introduced Chloe Bailey (also known as Chlöe), who dazzled Warwick with a stirring rendition of “Walk On By,” beginning at the 20:52 mark. Warwick bobbed her head approvingly. At the end, Chlöe looked up toward where Warwick sat and said, “I love you. Thank you.” She blew a kiss to Warwick, who smiled warmly, which must have felt almost as satisfying as receiving a tweet from Warwick. Almost. Warwick’s jam-packed tribute was punctuated by Gladys Knight singing “I Say A Little Prayer.”

The Kennedy Center posted an Instagram video of Warwick reflecting on the evening, in which she says, in part, “Oh, it was wonderful. You know, first of all, artists that I truly believe in and I know. I’m appreciative that they’ve taken the time to discover me and find out what I’m really all about.”

As per Billboard, “Walk On By” earned Warwick her first of 14 Grammy nominations (Best Rhythm & Blues Recording in 1965.) The 1964 classic was inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame in 1998, decades after peaking at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In late September, Tyga and YG dropped their joint project, Hit Me When U Leave The Klub. Those two releases do not seem correlated in any way, and they would never be mentioned in the same vicinity if Chlöe, Uproxx’s August 2022 cover star, and Tyga weren’t just spotted leaving the same club in West Hollywood, California last night, December 26.

According to TMZ, “The two music stars were spotted leaving the Bird Streets Club in WeHo Tuesday night for a sweet meetup … Tyg’s carrying 2 bags of candy as he headed to his car. Chloe was all smiles — likely anticipating the treats ahead — as she slid into the front passenger seat of T-Raww’s whip before they jetted off into the moonlight.”

It goes without saying: Chlöe and Tyga (allegedly, seemingly, reportedly) casually hanging out once does not mean they are dating. But, for the sake of answering the proposed question, this feels like a solid “well, maybe, I guess.”

Tyga was most recently publicly involved in an on-and-off again relationship with Avril Lavigne. On October 13, People exclusively confirmed that they were “totally done,” citing an anonymous source.

Meanwhile, around the release of In Pieces, rumors swirled around a possible romance between Chlöe and Quavo, her co-star in the Peacock musical comedy Praise This. She was asked about it by Latto and Cosmopolitan, and while she was playfully ambiguous about it with Latto, she put all speculation to bed with Cosmopolitan, as excerpted below.

“Sadly, I have not been seeing anybody for almost a year now. Your girl has just been working on herself, and I wish I was lying. I tell myself, God, I know what you’re doing. You’re sifting out the BS, so I can find good lovin’. When you don’t know your worth and when you haven’t mastered the art of loving yourself, you question why others would love you. Halle Bailey Shares Her Side Of Narrowing Nail Salon Story

Earlier this week, a surprise beef sparked online between Halle and Chloe Bailey and a nail salon. It started when Halle’s boyfriend DDG took to Twitter with an inflammatory post accusing the salon of racism. He went even further asking his followers to bomb the salon’s Yelp page with 1-star reviews. Thought he has since deleted the tweet, much of the damage is already done.

The salon owner herself shared a video sharing her side of the story, claiming that Chloe was late for her nail appointment at the salon. She also explained that the backlash has been so dramatic that she’s scared to go to work because of threats made against her. After backlash to the original fan backlash began to mount, Halle Bailey felt the need to clarify her side of the story. Halle Bailey Tells Her Story

In her version of events, Halle explains that she made a reservation at the nail salon for her and Chloe. She claims she made it clear in advance that Chloe would be a bit late for the appointment, which the salon claimed was okay. But when the actual appointment arrived, she said they weren’t okay with Chloe being late anymore. The sequence ended when the salon refused to treat Chloe due to her lateness and the sisters left after they experienced reportedly rude behavior.

In the comments, fans mostly took the side of the salon owners. “Idk I feel bad for the lady. Y’all do be taking stuff too far. The threats and harassment is unnecessary. At the end of the day, she still got a business to run. And she was nice by allowing 15 mins late,” one of the top comments reads. “Being late af for your appointment that YOU set a time and day for is actually insane,” another comment agrees.
