Chance The Rapper Announces “Acid Rap” 10-Year Anniversary Concert

Chance The Rapper is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his breakout mixtape, Acid Rap, in a major way. He’s taking it to the streets with a 10-year anniversary concert at Chicago’s United Center on August 19th. Moreover, there will be more events to follow. One of which being the release of the track “Juice” which originally could not be released when Chance dropped the mixtape on streaming platforms. The song will be released Sunday, April 30th on all streaming platforms for your ears to enjoy.

Despite mixed reviews from his “debut” album The Big Day (it wasn’t that bad). Chance The Rapper is proving he’s always known his fanbase. What felt like just a few years ago, 2013 was one of the most creative times in rap, with Chance at the forefront. Barely 20 years old, Chance The Rapper put Chicago on his back and became the face to usher in a new era of not just rap music, but Chicago rap music. Acid Rap is without question considered Chance’s magnum opus to the mixtape series. Not to mention, classic tracks such as, “Favorite Song,” “Everything’s Good,” “Acid Rain,” and “Pushaman” evoke such nostalgia and memories for a lot of Chance fans.

Before all the festivities, there will be pop-ups, events, and more before the show. Following all the excitement, Chance has also been busy working on music. He’s currently putting together his new album Star Line Gallery. The album is an immersion between music, art, and cinematography. Chance The Rapper is no stranger to having a lot on his plate. Balancing an album, an upcoming concert, and being a coach on The Voice is no easy feat. However, Chance is just the man for the job.

Chance The Rapper has never shortchanged his fan when it comes to putting out quality work. Acid Rap is easily one of the best mixtapes of all time, it’s great to see it celebrated after a decade. While Chano has put out singles and features here and there, it’ll be nice for all us Chance fans to hear a full body of work. Are you still bumping Acid Rap? Are you going to the 10th Anniversary concert? Let us know in the comments.

Lil Ronald Fatally Shot In Chicago, ShortyMobb Rapper Was Just 14 Years Old: Report

Reporting on the death of artists within the hip-hop community is never easy, especially when they’re this young. ABC 7 Chicago reports that a 14-year-old boy was fatally shot on the city’s South Side a few days ago. The incident occurred on Thursday (April 20) at 1 PM local time on the 2300 block of East 80th Street. Though the outlet was unaware of the teen’s identity, TruthTellerTV on YouTube has since claimed that ShortyMobb rapper Lil Ronald lost his life due to the senseless gun violence.

When he was shot, the Drill artist was allegedly sitting in a car. He was rushed to South Shore Hospital immediately after, though he was ultimately pronounced dead by doctors. There have been no arrests in connection with the murderous incident, however, local detectives continue to investigate and seek answers. Aside from the YouTube upload claiming Ronald is the crime’s victim, a Reddit post from last week also shows a screenshot from Lil Los’ Instagram Story, seemingly paying tribute to the rising star, taken too soon.

Teen Drill Artist Lil Ronald Reported Dead in Chicago

As HipHopDX notes, we have yet to receive official confirmation that Ronald is the one who was fatally shot in Chicago. If true, the slaying marks the second murder of a ShortyMobb member in recent months. According to a post from @raphousetv, another person in the crew, Cello, was killed on the East Side of Chicago earlier this year. While reports of the teenager’s alleged death continue to circulate online, hundreds of Twitter users are sharing their thoughts on the tragedy.

“This is why it’s drastically important for parents to be 100% active in their children’s lives,” one person wrote. “And actually show them you care and love them. Or they will find it elsewhere in a different form.” Others pointed out photos making rounds of Lil Ronald flexing a weapon for the camera. “I mean these images do say a lot,” they noted. “The obsession these young people got with guns is unhealthy, backed by a country that enforces these silly gun laws.” Someone else wrote back, “He’s 14, you can’t have a handgun at that age. Literally already illegal 💀.” Check back later for any updates on the investigation. RIP.

Saba & No I.D. Deliver New Collab “Back In Office”

Chicago’s Saba is entering a new phase in his career and he’s enlisted No I.D. for some assistance. The Pivot Gang rapper emerged on Wednesday, April 12th with his new single, “Back In Office,” a collaborative effort with the iconic producer. No I.D. pairs his signature drums with electrifying guitar loops that serve as the perfect canvas for the “Come By Way” rapper’s vibrant flows and sharp wordplay.

Saba’s latest single is a refreshing entry in his catalog that finds him puffing his chest and asserting himself as one of the coldest rappers in the game. He weaves through No I.D.’s production with a fiery flow that sets the tone for what’s to come later this year. Though he’s certainly showcased how good of an MC he is in the past, “Back In Office” is one of those songs that will put you on notice if you’ve been sleeping on him. However, it’s also a testament to No I.D’s timeless sound and his ability to find his place with a younger generation of artists from his hometown.

The song is actually part of a “private collection,” signaling that a project could be on the way soon. Though there isn’t a timeline of when that might be, he previously told Apple Music that their project will likely consist of 10 songs. However, No I.D. sent him over 100 beats to choose from. “He was like, ‘You hear that little beat in the background, that’s just number 80 this week, don’t mind me,’” Saba revealed. “So when I got up with him, he told me he did 120 in a two-week span. He was like, ‘I got 120, how many of them you want me to send you?’ I was just like, ‘Bro, I’m about to go on tour, send me all 120.’ I didn’t expect him to actually do it, but he did it.”

It looks like Saba is aiming to deliver another AOTY contender for the second year in a row. Last year, the rapper emerged with Few Good Things, his most successful project to date. The album consisted of 14 songs in total with appearances from Black Thought, Foushée, Krayzie Bone, Smino, 6lack and more. Check out “Back In Office” above.

Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago” To Restock: Details

One of the best shoes ever created is none other than the Air Jordan 1 High. This was Michael Jordan’s first-ever signature shoe. Overall, it was a massive part of his rookie season with the Chicago Bulls. Consequently, the “Chicago” colorway became a huge hit. As you can imagine, this colorway was known for its incredible white, red, and black aesthetic. This matched the Bulls’ jerseys perfectly, and to this day, the sneaker is seen as an icon. At this point, nothing will ever take away from that legacy.

Just last year, Jumpman came through with the Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago Reimagined,” also known as the “Lost & Found” colorway. What was cool about this shoe is that it took the iconic “Chicago” blueprint, but gave it a bit of a twist. That twist in question was a shoe that looked pre-aged. The cuff had a scratchy look to it, almost as if the leather had worn down. Moreover, the midsole was a bit yellow. Ultimately, this is why the shoe got its “Lost & Found” name as it looked as though it had been found in an old and dusty attic.

The release was absolutely massive for Jordan Brand, and there is no doubt that some fans ended up missing out. However, it appears as though sneakerheads will be getting a second chance to cop these. According to Complex, the shoe is going to be dropping on the SNKRS App next week. In fact, Nike has already added the shoe to the app. Although, an exact date has not been given. All we do know is that the shoe will be getting a restock.

Overall, you cannot go wrong with a piece of history like this. The Air Jordan 1 High is one of the best sneakers ever made, and the “Chicago” colorway should be a staple of any collection. Let us know if you plan on taking part in the restock, in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from the sneaker world.
