Famous Dex has issued a warning to Druski after the latter posted a video of the former fighting with Soulja Boy. “Lol @druski u post that old ass video of me an Soulja Boy on Mac grave when I see u ima beat tf outta u. an u can’t come to Chicago cause it’s gone be another chain gone u p-ssy gay a– dude, I don’t play with u I don’t even know you [shrug emoji] But why u posting me like a b-tch can’t wait to see u have that same energy,” Dex said on Instagram. Later, Dex made another post showing that he had received a temporary ban from Instagram Live.
The video that Dex took issue with show Soulja telling him to “get his chain back” while responding to rumors about his fight with Birdman. The Coulda Been Records CEO reportedly ran away from Birdman, leaving the Cash Money mogul with Druski’s Coulda Been chain. However, Druski has argued that he held his own in the confrontation. “Of course, TMZ wouldn’t show all the camera angles… I HANDLED MINES #WasRunningToTheTrunk #DatGetbackAMuhf-cka. THEY AIN’T GONNA SHOW WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE THAT,” the comedian wrote on social media.
However, Druski isn’t the first person Dex has slapped with a ban from the Windy City this year. Back in July, Dex issued a similar warning to King Lil Jay after it was reported that Jay had kissed another man while in prison. In a response on Instagram, Dex told Jay he “can’t come back to Chicago” and called him “gay” multiple times in reference to the video. This later backfired, with fans largely taking Jay’s side and accusing Dex of relapsing.
Furthermore, Jay has adamantly denied that it’s him in the video. “Soon as y’all put dude up actually saying some gay sh-t y’all would try to put me on there. Look at that sh-t. Face don’t match, tattoos don’t match, body don’t match,” Jay responded to the viral footage. However, it remains to be seen if he did in fact return to Chicago despite Dex’s warning.

In a continuation of his bad week, Lil Reese has been spotted throwing down with a group of women in Chicago. The rapper was caught on video pushing, punching, and even grabbing a few people by the neck. The video comes just a few days after Reese had to debunk claims that he had been shot. It’s unclear what caused the altercation and if there are any consequences of it. The fight remains a developing story and we’ll have any updates as they emerge.
However, it’s not the first time that Reese has been accused of violence against women. Over a decade ago in 2012, a video emerged of Reese pulling the hair of a woman who was later revealed to be his baby mama. Last year, Reese expressed regret over that incident. “I wish I could take it back. I would have never did it, I would have never did that shit though,” Reese told DJ Vlad.
Elsewhere, Reese has had to deny that he was shot, a rumor spread across multiple sites online. “Hell yea blood that’s fake news,” Reese could be seen telling a friend in text messages. It’s unclear if there was anything related that led to the rumors. However, Reese is doing fine and has not been shot. However, it was a pretty scary time with his fans, with no one giving a clear account of the situation before Reese spoke out.
Earlier in the month, he also spoke on his 2021 shooting incident while appearing on No Jumper. “They was shootin’ from five lanes over. It’s goofy shit. They was five lanes over, shootin’ at my car, thinkin’ I was somebody else. Somebody else had the same car as me, and they just did a video in the car, so they thought my car was his car, and they shot my car up,” Reese told Adam22.

After roughly a year, he slid through with Trophy Room II in Sept. 2023.

With an appellation like Remember My Name, you must be ready to stamp your name in the history books, and Lil Durk came prepared. For the Chicago native, a career in music was not his primary path to success. Being as gifted as he is, he had no choice but to take rap seriously. Evidently, one of the earliest testaments to his notable talents is his debut album, Remember My Name.
This year, the album turned 8 years old, and it’s hard to believe that much time has flown by. Long before his chart-topping albums and viral hit singles, Lil Durk offered us Remember My Name. It’s where it all truly took off for the rapper, and today, he’s a dominating Hip Hop star.

Indeed, Remember My Name was his debut album, but it was not the first project Lil Durk had put out. Before the album, Durk already had released five mixtapes between 2011 and 2014. Moreover, he had steadily gained a cult following and generated considerable buzz as an artist. This was boosted after the releases of Signed to the Streets (2013) and Signed to the Streets 2 (2014). The success of the two mixtapes subsequently helped Durk secure a record deal with Def Jam Recordings. While chatting with Complex, he revealed that he and Lil Reese were “the first acts from Chicago to sign straight to Def Jam. No other imprints. We’re straight to Def Jam — no middleman.” Remember My Name was released on June 2, 2015, and put a well-deserved spotlight on Lil Durk and his career.

Other guest appearances on the album include Logic on “Tryna’ Tryna’” and on the album’s deluxe edition, Hypno Carlito on “Ghetto (Grew Up),” and King Popo on “Remember My Name.” Some of the album’s standout tracks are “Like Me,” “Higher,” and “Tryna’ Tryna’.”
Upon its release, Remember My Name received mixed reviews from critics. Commercially, even though the album cannot be compared to Lil Durk’s more recent works, it definitely was not a failure by any means. In fact, at the time, it was his most successful work, and his first project to make it onto the Billboard 200 chart. Remember My Name peaked at number 14 on the chart and marked a new beginning for Lil Durk.
As a result, the album’s success paved the way for Lil Durk’s continued growth in the rap industry. It solidified his presence and opened doors for future collaborations and projects. Remember My Name established Lil Durk as a significant figure in the Chicago Hip Hop scene, and the larger rap community. It’s been eight years since his debut album, and just like he said they would, the rap community has remembered his name. With the moves he’s made, how could they forget it? Recently, Lil Durk teamed up with Machine Gun Kelly to perform his 2020 track “The Voice” live. The performance was part of the second season of Amazon Music Live, and took place in L.A. last week. In clips making their rounds online, MGK can be seen shredding on an electric guitar as Durk spits lyrics to the heartfelt track.
Amazon Music Live, hosted by 2 Chainz, will also feature performances from Metro Boomin, Latto, and more in coming weeks. Durk bringing MGK out for the show wasn’t the only moving live moment the Chicago-born performer’s had recently, however. Last week, he also surprised his hometown fans at Soldier Field, putting on a surprise halftime show at the Chicago Fire’s home game with local children.
The performer can be seen performing his hit song “All My Life” as the kids dance and sing along. From the looks of things, the sold-out crowd was having a blast. The Chicago Fire beat Inter Miami 4-1, though some fans were disappointed that Lionel Messi sat the game out due to an injury.
At the game, Durk also revealed that he’d be sending 30 students to Harvard next spring. The investment is part of his foundation, Neighborhood Heroes, which strives to make positive change in local communities. The artist spoke with NBC about his intentions, revealing that he’s just looking to provide opportunities that he wasn’t so fortunate to have growing up. He explained that he wasn’t able to graduate himself, and now that he’s got the resources to do so, he wants to “take it to the next level” with young people in Chicago.

Lil Reese has been through a tremendous amount of adversity throughout his career. Overall, he has gotten into numerous beefs all while being part of the Chicago drill movement’s developing stages. Although he may not get mainstream attention, he is an artist who is loved by his fans. If you are a fan of Reese, then you know some of the close brushes he has had with death. He was the victim of a shooting in 2019, and subsequently, he was in another shooting back in 2021.
During the 2021 shooting, Reese was filmed with blood leaking from his face. It was very gruesome, and many feared for his life. Reports indicated that Reese had been tracked down in a stolen Dodge Durango and a fight ensued. This subsequently led to him being shot. However, Reese was on No Jumper where he refuted some of the details of the shooting. As you will see, he claims the car was never stolen. Instead, he just had the same car as the men who shot at him. Additionally, he spoke on how a cop slammed him to the ground which made him appear bloodier than he should have been.
