Kanye West’s “Carnival” Producer Goes Scorched Earth On Social Media For Being Left Off The Credits

Digital Nas went on a fiery rant about working with Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign on the hit song, “Carnival,” on social media. In doing so, he shared an email from A&R Matt Geffen, who allegedly wrote that producers Traxster, 88-Keys, and Morning Estrada “were not able to verify” his involvement in making the track. In response, Nas labeled the group “vultures” and advised followers to shy away from a career in music.

“I’ma give you context to how these vulture-ass n****s work. Fritz [Owens, engineer] text me, ‘Ye and Carti need you.’ I go there. ‘Nas, what do we need done to ‘Carnival’?’ I tell them n****s everything that needs to be done, told Ye to change his verse. ‘Carnival’ gets nominated for a f*cking Grammy, it goes number one. They’re doing the paperwork, this f*cking guy Matt Geffen comes out of nowhere, tries to regulate sh*t.”

Nas continued: “I’m showing y’all this to let y’all know how many vultures are in this music industry […] These n****s are fighting over crumbs. ‘Carnival’ made $47,000 publishing. These n****s is old as f*ck, don’t have no talent. But they use young n****s’ sound and then they try to say they did something on the record when they didn’t do sh*t! But the n****s who actually did sh*t on the record, they take them n****s off! When it’s small records like ‘Paperwork,’ ‘Oh yeah, leave Nas on that.’ But when it’s big records that went number one, ‘Nah, he ain’t do sh*t on that.’ F*ck all y’all n****s!”

Rihanna Dons Stunning Feathered Costume For Barbados Festival

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky didn’t just celebrate their son Riot’s birthday in Barbados, as it seems like they stuck around for even more fun. Moreover, RiRi recently stole the show at her home country’s Crop Over Festival this year on Monday (August 5), donning a jewel-heavy carnival costume with feathered wings and a luxurious crown. As she and her friends (including Ayra Starr) partied on a float for the festivities, they said hi to fans and overall seemed to have a fantastic time. For those unaware, Crop Over is a centuries-old gathering celebrating the end of the harvest in Barbados and is similar to Carnival celebrations in Brazil and Trinidad, for example.

During a May interview, Ayra Starr spoke on meeting the “Diamonds” singer for the first time earlier in 2024. “I was like, ‘Wow! Rihanna!’” she shared. “We got to hang out after the event. Just spending time with my idol, the person that inspired me to do all of this, was the most amazing thing. She gave me so many pointers and advice.” They linked up over some Fenty collaborations, which has been going strong this year.

Rihanna At Crop Over In Barbados

Elsewhere, though, Rihanna also had to deal with some drama concerning allegations referenced in a new Trap Lore Ross video on Jay-Z, with her former publicist Jonathan Hay shedding some light on these claims. “So I was like, ‘F**k Jay-Z,’ since he won’t give us any attention and he’s being disrespectful to Amil, who was a single mother,” he recalled. “I’m going to get his attention and be disrespectful back to Jay-Z, as Rihanna was the best thing on Def Jam by far.

“I thought Jay-Z was a dirtbag, so I put out the story that Jay-Z was in a love triangle with Rihanna and Beyoncé,” Hay told AllHipHop. “That caught fire, sparked conversation, increased radio airplay, press coverage and other forms of attention. I was in an unapologetic ‘by any means necessary’ state of mind.” Hay underwent police interrogation as a result of these claims, and Hov and his team forced him to relay a public apology for his efforts.

Kanye West Admits To Porn Addiction In Leaked Version Of “Carnival”

Kanye West and his album Vultures were a hot topic of debate a few months ago. Overall, his newest fans loved it. However, those fans who have been around since the very beginning hated it with a passion. From the awful lyrics to the half-baked production, this was an album that ranks at the very bottom of Ye’s discography. Regardless, there is at least one song that has left a lot of fans feeling excited, every time it comes on.

That song, of course, is “Carnival.” It is a song that features Ty Dolla Sign, Rich The Kid, and even Playboi Carti. Fans have been overplaying this song quite a bit, and it has also been a massive hit over on TikTok. Now, it appears as though an earlier version of the song has leaked. In this new version, Kanye comes through with some truly questionable bars. “In the crib, watching p*rn, since the day I was born,” Ye raps. “Got my kids in a fake school, we ain’t Jewish”

Kanye West Gets Pretty Honest

Kanye has been pretty adamant about his porn addiction in the past. There are numerous alleged stories of Ye showing people porn off of his phone without any consent. Moreover, the way he dresses Bianca Censori has led to lots of discourse surrounding his attitudes towards women. Not to mention, some of these bars are yet another example of how the artist has put less thought and effort into his lyrics. Only time will tell whether or not we ever get Vultures 2.

Let us know what you think of these bars, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that Kanye West’s lyricism has gone down the drain as of late? Did you enjoy what he brought forth with his most recent project, Vultures? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. Chloe Bailey Has Fans In A Daze Thanks To Her Stunning St. Lucia Carnival Outfit

Chloe Bailey is back in the news for the outfit she wore to St. Lucia Carnival, just as she was last year. The St. Lucia Carnival, one of the highlights on the Caribbean calendar every year, saw Chloe Bailey immersed in the celebration. She wore an outfit that helped spotlight her figure, as many participants in Carnival do every year. Bailey’s outfit also paid homage to the rich cultural heritage of Carnival traditions. Carnival’s history is deeply rooted in African history and the legacy of the slave trade.

Chloe Bailey first attended Carnival in 2023, declaring it to be “the best time of her entire life.” She made her return this year, further making her love of the event apparent. Carnival, celebrated in so many countries and cities around the world, is a unique blend of history, culture and freedom. Costumes are almost a necessity, many of which reflect tribal and spiritual practices. Each element of her costume, including the symbolic feathers, represented rebirth and the spiritual rise of Black people across the diaspora. Additionally, they symbolize the yearly rebirth of nature.

Bailey’s peers and fans alike have praised her Carnival look. Reggae artist Shenseea and singer Queen Naija were among those who complimented her appearance. They highlighted the beauty she brought to the celebration. Fans jokingly commented on needing to change their gym routines so they can look like her. Clearly, Chloe Bailey is a proud participant in the festivities. There are few better ways to get back to your roots that than to go to a festival that celebrates the history and culture in the way Carnival does.

Chloe Bailey announced a new album at Coachella this past April. Trouble In Paradise, her sophomore effort does not yet have a release date. However, she released two singles, “FYS” and “Boy Bye,” both of which will probably appear on the album. In between crafting new music and touring, Chloe has also been busy furthering her film and television career. She recently starred in the film Praise This and had a supporting role in the popular Amazon Prime limited series Swarm.

Kanye West Records “CARNIVAL” Verse In Room Full Of Friends: Video

When asked about their recording process, some artists insist that they can only work in quiet studios free of all distractions. Kanye West, on the other hand, doesn’t mind performing while making his album, as we saw with Vultures 2. The controversial project finds Ty Dolla Sign and Ye further pushing creative boundaries and topping the charts, even with the latter’s widespread cancellation through the entertainment industry in recent years.

On Monday (March 18), a video surfaced online showing West in a room surrounded by dozens of friends, many of them seated around them. He had his recording tools set up in front of him, and headphones wrapped around his temples while seemingly nodding along to music blaring out of them. Around him, small talk and chatter continued until he began spitting his provocative bars. “Now I’m Ye-Kelly, b**ch / Now, I’m Bill Cosby, b**ch,” the father of four assertively declares. “Now, I’m Puff Daddy rich / That’s ‘Me Too’ me rich.”

Kanye West’s Vultures 2 Recording Process

Along with the NSFW song, Ye and Dolla shared a CGI-generated visual to accompany “CARNIVAL,” which showcases a lot of violent imagery. Despite the controversy surrounding the “Stronger” hitmaker and his latest LP, his circus-themed track still managed to nab the No. 1 spot on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart earlier this month. He’s hinted that at least one more installment of Vultures is coming our way this year, and we’re eager to see what his creative process will be for that.

Now that we’ve filled you in on how Kanye West recorded his verse on “CARNIVAL,” you can turn your attention to Ice Spice’s rumoured “New Body” verse. According to Ye. the New Yorker’s team is gatekeeping the music from being released, which doesn’t come as a surprise to many considering Spice’s working relationship with Nicki Minaj. Read the latest on that debacle at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign Showcase Violent Imagery In CGI Music Video For “CARNIVAL”

Since VULTURES 1 by Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign was beginning to be rolled out, we have received four sets of visuals. The first of which was revealed to us on Instagram for “TALKING” featuring Ye’s oldest child, North West. Following that, two versions of “VULTURES,” “Havoc Version” and “Juice Version,” got unique imagery. Now, after going number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, “CARNIVAL” gets the music video treatment.

Of course, this cut features Playboi Carti and Rich The Kid, and they have helped turn this record into a fan favorite. Its wild chanting backup vocalists paired with the EDM/trap beat is certainly a unique mix of textures and sonics. But it has won fans over in a hurry, being out for just over a month now. Additionally, like most things Kanye does, this video is anything but orthodox.

Watch Music Video For “CARNIVAL”

It takes the single cover art and turns it into a scroller-esque set of violent and raging CGI imagery. You will catch a shot of the artwork for “CARNIVAL” near the 20 second mark. Clearly a lot of time and energy was put into this as all of the shots really emulate the vibe of the cut. The song has been an utter success for Kanye, making it his fifth number one track and his first in about 13 years. Additionally, Ty Dolla $ign can say this is number two, while Carti and Rich nabbed their first.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new music video for “CARNIVAL” by Kanye West, Ty Dolla $ign, Rich The Kid, and Playboi Carti? How do you feel about the song going number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart? Who had the best performance on the track? Is it still in your rotation? How do you feel about the CGI approach rather than a traditional video? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Yesterday (March 11) was a big day for Kanye West: It was revealed that his and Ty Dolla Sign’s Vultures 1 single “Carnival” is No. 1 on the latest Billboard Hot 100 chart. This makes the song Ye’s first No. 1 hit in 13 years, since his and Katy Perry’s 2011 collaboration “ET.” The achievement has West feeling some kind of way, and that way is vengeful.

In celebration of the feat, West shared his thoughts on Instagram, in which he goes after some of his opponents. He wrote:

“Rich Ty Carti and the supporters that stood by us through everything This number #1 is for you it’s for the people who won’t be manipulated by the system and f*ck adidas and everybody who works there or with them Anyone who goes to school with anyone who’s parents work at adidas Just know they tried to destroy me and here we are with the number 1 song in the world Like the fake dude I saw in the lobby at the Ritz that works at Goat You p*ssys don’t stand for sh*t And f*ck everybody at the Dailey Mail And F*ck everybody at the fashion houses that sided with Gabby and Hailey Bieber F*ck each and every single one of all And f*ck every Christian that watched me have my kids taken out of my control That’s how I feel And it’s f*ck Drake for taking Durk right at the beginning of the Vultures role out I’ll come back to yall if I think of more f*ck you’s.”

As Complex notes, the post has since been edited to read simply, “No caption.”

Kanye West Goes Scorched Earth On Drake, Adidas, And Many More In Latest Instagram Rant

Kanye West is on a nice run right now thanks to Vultures 1. His collaborative album with Ty Dolla Sign continues to be a fan favorite, and many are excited to hear the follow-up. However, the first Vultures is doing some impressive numbers right now. Overall, “Carnival” with Rich The Kid and Playboi Carti just hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100. This is a massive accomplishment, and it is yet another huge milestone for Ye in his career. That said, the achievement led to a pretty lengthy rant on Instagram.

While the rant itself has been deleted, the IG post it was attached to can still be found on his account. In this rant, he went after The Daily Mail, Adidas, and even Drake. “That’s how I feel And it’s fuck Drake for taking Durk right at the beginning of the Vultures role out I’ll come back to yall if I think of more fuck you’s,” Kanye West wrote. The Drizzy section was at the end of the rant. However, leading up to that, Ye unleashed the clip on the industry. He took the opportunity to go after anyone he has had a gripe with.

Kanye West Secures The No. 1 Spot On The New ‘Billboard’ Hot 100 Chart, Marking His First Chart-Topper In Over A Decade

kanye west

In music, the artist that dominates the charts tends to lead the pack. So, each week, when Billboard reveals the top 10 songs on its Hot 100 chart, entertainers and fans alike pause to comb over the results.

After weeks of streaming battles between music’s biggest names, the new rankings are ready for all to see. Continue below for the track-by-track breakdown for the chart dated March 16.

10. Taylor Swift – “Cruel Summer”

Until Taylor Swift‘s forthcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department is released, the Swifties are working hard to ensure the singer doesn’t leave the chart. Instead of latching onto her most recent project, Midnight, they’ve latched onto 2019’s “Cruel Summer.” Her Lover-era is long since over, but the public’s admiration for the track clearly isn’t.

9. Doja Cat – “Agora Hills”

Over the weekend, Doja Cat announced her departure from the popular social media platform Instagram. But she couldn’t abandon the music charts even if she tried. Her stand-out Scarlet track “Agora Hills” has continued to hold tight in Billboard‘s top 10. The record could sneakily snatch the No. 1 slot if her die-hard fans work hard enough at it.

8. SZA – “Snooze”

There’s no sleeping on SZA’s sheer star power. The multiple Grammy Award winner’s sophomore album, SOS, is nearly two years old, and yet it still hasn’t left the charts. The project’s fan favorite, “Snooze,” has continued to showcase just how mighty SZA’s pen can be in the No. 8 spot.

7. Zach Bryan — “I Remember Everything” Feat. Kacey Musgraves

The more Zach Bryan travels across the world on his Quittin Time Tour, the more he makes a country music fan out of all within earshot. Undoubtedly, the most addictive song on his self-titled album is “I Remember Everything.” The debut with Kacey Musgraves will surely be looked back on as a classic years down the line. So, it is no wonder why the track sets comfortably at No. 7.

6. Tate McRae – “Greedy”

Uproxx cover star Tate McRae’s recent live performance at the 2024 BRITS gave her breakout hit “Greedy” an added boost on the charts. For 25 weeks, the song has made the Hot 100 chart its home, peaking at No. 3 back in September. But with McRae’s string of live shows and the constant push on TikTok, another surge could be in the works.

5. Beyoncé — “Texas Hold ‘Em”

Beyoncé and her yeehaw agenda is a force to be reckoned with. With Act II only a few weeks away, the project’s lead single, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” won’t loosen its grip on the Beyhive. Although it has fallen out of the No. 1 slot, thanks to the fan-crafted viral lineup, it could gitty up right back to the top quite soon.

4. Benson Boone – “Beautiful Things”

Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” is showing subtle growth. In prior weeks, the track dropped from its peak position at No. 2 to No. 3. But for the week of March 16, the record climbed a slot up to No. 4.

3. Jack Harlow – “Lovin On Me”

Jack Harlow’s viral sensation “Lovin On Me” has refused to fall out of favor. Like the rapper, the record ebbs and flows based on which way the industry trends. While it currently sits at No. 3, it could very easily snatch its previously held No. 1 position.

2. Teddy Swims – “Lose Control”

Teddy Swims‘ “Lose Control” glides right back into the top two of this week’s Hot 100 chart. Due to its continued popularity, next week could be the moment when the song takes over at No. 1. But for right now, the growth to No. 2 will work just fine for the singer.

1. Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign — “Carnival” Feat. Rich The Kid and Playboi Carti

At No. 1 is none other than Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign. After a fierce battle with Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em,” the collaborative duo Vultures 1 track, “Carnival,” featuring Rich The Kid and Playboi Carti, has snagged the top spot. According to Complex, this marked West’s first No. 1 song in 13 years.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
