Max Cancels “Rap Sh!t” After Two Seasons

The Issa Rae-created comedy series Rap Sh!t has been officially canceled by Max after two seasons. “We are extremely grateful to Issa Rae for creating Rap Sh!t, a one-of-a-kind comedy with compelling social commentary that reached viewers in a way only Issa’s talents can accomplish. A huge thank you to Issa, showrunner Syreeta Singleton and the teams at Hoorae and 3 Arts Entertainment for introducing us to Shawna and Mia. They are a duo whose journey fans have been invested in and who they have continued to root for through everything. We’ll never get Seduce and Scheme out of our heads. We wouldn’t have it any other way,” A Max spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.

The show followed two aspiring rappers, played by Aida Osman and KaMillion, as they navigated the intersection of life and their burgeoning music careers. The show has a 100% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, audience scores dropped for the show’s second season, whose release was delayed by the SAG-AFTRA strike last year. Under the rules of the strike, the cast and crew were also unable to promote the show ahead of its second season.

Rap Sh!t Latest Max Show To Get Axed

However, Rap Sh!t is just the latest show that Max has canceled this month. Earlier in January, Max also announced the cancelation of Julia, the series inspired by the life of legendary chef Julia Childs. Meanwhile, the platform also declined to renew Out Flag Means Death, the gay pirate drama spearheaded by Taika Waititi. Elsewhere, Max did renew Bookie, the latest series from Chuck Lorre for a second season.

Furthermore, the cancelations come amid an uncertain time for Max and its parent company – Warner Bros. Discovery. In December 2023, it was announced that talks were underway for Warner Bros. to acquire Paramount Global. This would likely see Paramount Plus folded into Max. However, these talks are in the very early stages and could inevitably go nowhere. Despite this, it means little for the cast and crew of the shows that will not continue onto another season.

ScHoolboy Q is an artist that fans have been wanting new music from for quite some time. It has been a while since his last project, and you can imagine that fans are hungry. However, that doesn’t mean Q has been absent from the public eye. Oh on the contrary. In fact, the artist was recently at the TDE Toy Drive that took place in Watts this past week. SZA and a plethora of other TDE artists were also there. It was a tremendous occasion and the fans turned out to see their favorite artists in action.

Of course, during this special occasion, ScHoolboy Q had his very own set. It was here where he got to play a plethora of his hits. One of those songs just so happens to be “THat Part.” The song came with a Kanye West feature, and Q was excited to highlight that. ScHoolboy Q Speaks

“I don’t know about y’all but I ain’t canceled Kanye,” Q said. “That’s the homie. I don’t give a fuck. I’m fucking with Ye.” Needless to say, Ye and his latest antics have not fazed the artist one bit. This seems to be a pattern as very few artists have actually denounced Kanye. Instead, most of them have continued to embrace him amid his antics. The new album Vultures is a prime example of this. Only time will tell whether or not that project actually ends up coming out on New Year’s Eve as promised.

Let us know what you think of ScHoolboy Q and his support of Ye, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will always be sure to keep you informed on your favorite artists and all of their upcoming releases.

Diddy Reality Show Scrapped By Hulu

Diddy+7, a reality show about Diddy and his family, has reportedly been scrapped by Hulu. It becomes the latest Diddy-related project to be shelved after the Bad Boy Records founder was hit with four sexual assault lawsuits over late November and early December. First reported by Rolling Stone, the show’s development was reportedly in “nascent stages” and was not expected to debut until at least Fall 2024. The rapper and his family had been spotted with a camera crew on several occasions back in March of this year.

Furthermore, the Rolling Stone report also noted that 18 brands have cut ties with the mogul and his recently founded Empower Global, which was meant to serve as an e-commerce platform for Black-owned businesses. Additionally, he recently stepped down as chairman of Revolt, the media company he co-founded a decade ago. Meanwhile, the Recording Academy is currently reviewing Diddy’s 2024 Grammy nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album.

50 Cent Teases Diddy Documentary

However, the scrapping of the reality show doesn’t mean there won’t be any Diddy-related media. 50 Cent recently revealed that he is already working on a Surviving R. Kelly-esque documentary about Diddy. “RAPPER 👀?” he captioned a screenshot of a Page Six story about his upcoming documentary. “I thought Diddy was a Billionaire music mogul, If he’s smart he will file bankruptcy now. Anyone with real money knows why I’m saying this. I’m the best producer for the job guys. 😳 Here come the receipts,” Fif wrote on social media. At this time, it’s unknown when and on what platform the documentary will premiere.

Furthermore, Fif announced alongside an early preview of the documentary that all proceeds would be going to charities that help victims of sexual assault. “All G-Unit Film & Television proceeds from this Documentary will go to victims of Sexual Assault and Rape!” Fif proclaimed. The news came after a fourth woman sued Diddy, claiming that he was part of a gang rape she suffered at the age of 17.

Moneybagg Yo Forced To Stop Denver Show Early Due To Health Emergency

Moneybagg Yo has been dealing with a tumultuous tour this year. He set sail this summer for his solo album, Hard To Love. One of the first hiccups the hitmaker had to deal with was the canceled shows due to low ticket sales. People were obviously frustrated, but some were also criticizing him and dishing out some humble pie. One person on Twitter ranted, “These street rappers got no substance in they music. nobody tryn see them walk back and forth in stage for an hour.”

If that was not enough, one of Moneybagg’s shows was shut down. This time it was out of his control as fire marshals stepped in before the concert could get underway. Due to overcapacity within a closed-in environment, safety came first. While it was disappointing for both Moneybagg and the fans, it may have been the right decision. People have been poking fun at the rapper for this rough outing. This time though, his Denver tour stop was over early due to a health scare.

According to HipHopDX, the medical emergency is still unspecified at this point. Denver was another city that was dealing with a lot of alterations. It was rescheduled from August 29 to yesterday. Then, the rapper was an hour late. Then, because of this health concern, Moneybagg only was onstage for a half hour. He took to his Instagram to clear it up as there was a photo of him connected to wires. Additionally, he had this to say to his fans, “Denver I apologize dat I had to shorten the show. Y’all just don’t kno wat I went through to make it happen tonight.” Hopefully, we hear what it was soon. We are wishing him a speedy recovery. He is slated to perform in Los Angeles, but there is no word if he will make it there tonight.

What are your initial thoughts on Moneybagg Yo canceling the Denver tour stop last night due to health concerns? Do you think he will reschedule the show once more, or will he refund the fans? Blueface’s Behavior Leads To Various Petitions Calling For Him To Be “Canceled”

At this point, Blueface is known for the antics in his relationships with the mothers of his kids. Chrisean Rock recently gave birth to his third child, and the rapper has since publicly accused her of being a bad mother. This was prior to him meeting the child for the first time, as he was not present at his birth. He was instead spending time with Jaidyn Alexis, the mother of his first two kids. Just in the past month there’s been an incredible amount of back-and-forth between all three of them.

First Blueface wasn’t on good terms with Chrisean, until he was again. When they were spotted in the studio together, Jaidyn Alexis lashed out online, claiming she was done with him. Then, Jaidyn joined him onstage at a show a few days later. Now, he’s back off of good terms with Chrisean, after he posted a photo of his newborn son naked. The new mother seems to be interested in pressing charges against him for sharing the photo online, and claims that he has more explicit images of the child.

Petitions Call For Blueface To Be Stopped

Blueface Needs To Be "Canceled," Multiple Petitions Claim

Moreover, the way he’s seen treating the women in his life consistently ruffles a lot of feathers. He frequently boasts about cheating, accuses the mothers of his kids of cheating, and continues to display a concerning lack of empathy, according to many. This has only been amplified since Chrisean Jr.’s arrival. The situation has now gotten so out of hand that a variety of petitions have popped up online, calling for him to be “canceled.”

Many of them cite his treatment of Chrisean Rock and Jaidyn Alexis, his kids, and just being “toxic” overall. At the time of writing, there are 19 separate petitions on Change.org, claiming that people need to ban together to put an end to his allegedly harmful behavior. With that being said, however, it doesn’t look like Blueface will be falling off the radar anytime soon. What do you think of all the petitions calling for Blueface to be stopped? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Blueface.

“The Idol” From The Weeknd Officially Canceled By HBO After One Season

The Weeknd’s HBO series with “Euphoria” head Sam Levinson this year, “The Idol,” was certainly an event. It was far from a beloved, perfect, and praised one, but it was still one of the most dominant and divisive cultural conversations of 2023 so far. Amid criticisms of the show’s quality itself, its themes and graphic depictions of them, and reports on the series’ behind the scenes wrongdoing and chaos, there was a lot to unpack and pick apart with the story of Jocelyn and Tedros. Rumors already spread that HBO wouldn’t renew it for another run, bolstered by its conclusion that came an episode early. Now, we officially know that “The Idol” is over.

“‘The Idol’ was one of HBO’s most provocative original programs, and we’re pleased by the strong audience response,” a network representative reportedly stated to The Hollywood Reporter. “After much thought and consideration, HBO, as well as the creators and producers have decided not to move forward with a second season. We’re grateful to the creators, cast, and crew for their incredible work.” While this news isn’t exactly surprising, it’s also quite sad to see this potential go to waste, regardless of whether you liked it or not.

“The Idol” Is No More

Furthermore, The Weeknd’s spoken out a lot about this negative reception to the show and defended their original vision for it, however misguided or poorly executed. “My goal was for people to feel that way when they watch it, you know, and that they’ll reassess (fame),” he told Variety in an interview. “It’s almost educational that this is what comes with being incredibly famous. You’re surrounded by people who you’re not sure what their true intentions are, even if it seems like they’re good. You just never know. I’ve been very fortunate to have people around me that I’ve known almost my entire life, which is important and is a gift.”

“I’m loving it,” the Canadian star told GQ of the divisive fan reception. “It’s definitely shaken up the culture for sure. We knew we were making something dark and controversial but true to what we want to say.” Let us know what you thought of “The Idol” and how you feel about its cancellation down in the comments below. BET Auction For $3 Billion Reportedly Called Off By Paramount

One of the most significant entertainment media sales in recent years has apparently been called off. Moreover, new reports from the New York Post indicate that Paramount is no longer selling BET, which was a prospect that bolstered Black entrepreneurs, businessmen, and entertainers to take ownership of the Black-centered network. Not only that, but the cancellation of a $3 billion auction for BET was reportedly because Tyler Perry’s offer for it was too low. Many looked to him as the creative who seemed best poised to acquire the company under his leadership. However, with this new report, it seems like its future still hangs in the balance.

Furthermore, the Post‘s article cites an allegedly close source to Paramount, who said that they notified bidders of the decision on Wednesday (August 16). “We made this decision because the benefits of maintaining a majority stake in BET Media Group creates more value for Paramount than any of the proposals we received,” the source reportedly told the publication. Another bidder in this debacle was a similarly legendary executive, Byron Allen, who also had a lot of public support.

Paramount’s Canceled Auction For BET

Regardless, the report suggest that the source painted Paramount as a conglomerate that sought a sale “which could return the asset to Black ownership.” In addition, they apparently wanted a “party that could be a good partner and responsible steward of the assets and the mission.” Apparently, JPMorgan, Paramount’s sell-side bank, failed to provide financing to suitors upon the auction’s commencement, thus placing doubt in BET Group’s strength. Also, it didn’t predict BET’s earnings during the process, which caused further concern, and the source claimed that Allen offered $3 billion for it late in the game.

Meanwhile, the Post‘s report also alleged that Paramount wanted Perry to push his offer up some more. It’s important to note that he already owns a 25% stake in BET+, the media company’s streaming service. As such, it seems like it will be a little longer until we know for sure what will happen to BET, and how hopeful owners circumvent this. For more news and the latest updates on the potential sale of BET, stay up to date on HNHH.

Chris Brown Declares That He Can’t Be Canceled, Makes Fun Of “Weirdos” Trying To Do So

Chris Brown might be the “canceled” celebrity that brings that up the most often, even if it’s mostly in a gloating manner. Moreover, the R&B singer has often addressed people criticizing his current and past behavior, either asking them to hush up or flexing his continued success on them. No matter what his attitude is, it’s clear that, for some reason, Brown wants to make that part of his career history a part of his brand and identity. Many criticisms levied against him range from the vague and occasional to the serious and systemic. Of course, a big example is his attacking of Rihanna, but other examples of alleged mistreatment, colorism, and controversial statements also came up.

Furthermore, the “Summer Too Hot” star is intent on proving the haters “wrong” by boasting the fact that he’s still an industry titan. Recently, Chris Brown took to Instagram to share a slightly cringe-inducing Instagram Story on this topic for no reason other than he simply can. “WEIRDOS: didn’t we cancel Chris Brown?” he wrote on a black background. “Me: IM STILL ALIVE.”

Chris Brown Declares Himself Un-Cancelable

After some outlets covered the post on social media, the comments split themselves into camps of defense and scolding. “Can we normalize people making mistakes and LEARNING from them?!” one user posited. “People grow and change. Is it hard to subscribe to the notion that Chris has CHANGED?! Some of you probably still hold on to being teased in Kindergarten. Seek therapy and do not project your nonsense.” However, some would argue that Chris Brown hasn’t showed that growth, in large part because of his dismissal of everything after so long. “Um does cancel mean murder now?” one commenter wrote. “I stopped listening to him years ago but I don’t care if other people want to continue to listen to his music. I’m tired of people crying about being canceled. You’re clearly not so stfu.”

Meanwhile, he continues to sell wildly expensive tickets for his shows to considerable success and acclaim. Whether this narrative will ever fade will probably be a continuous question. However, a more important one is whether the artist himself will ever move past that. Until he does, how can he expect others to do so? Still, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Chris Brown.

Earlier today, many fans woke up to some bad news. Emails were sent out confirming the Moneybagg Yo tour dates had been canceled, even as late as the week of the show.
