Diddy, the 2022 recipient of the BET Lifetime Achievement Award, has released his new single, “Gotta Move On,” featuring Bryson Tiller. “Gotta Move On” is the first single off his highly anticipated new album, which will be released under his LOVE RECORDS label in collaboration with Motown Records. The new album is set to release later this year.

On “Gotta Move On,” Bryson Tiller delivers the hook as Diddy brings love via impressive verses and a catchy beat.

The single was first performed by Diddy at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, where he gave a show-stopping performance. The live performance video, which includes a surprise rendition of “First Class” by Jack Harlow and the classic “Mo Money, Mo Problems” with Christian King Combs and Teyana Taylor, has already racked up over 2 million YouTube views organically.

You can hear the new single below.

Diddy And Bryson Tiller Accept That They ‘Gotta Move On’ On Their Emotive New Record

Diddy’s ear for R&B goes without saying, so it makes sense he found his way onto Bryson Tiller’s popular Soundcloud loosie “She Don’t Want My Love” but added a verse to its new iteration, “Gotta Move On.” The track, performed officially at the recent Billboard Music Awards, carries a somber tone despite being upbeat in sonics.

The Trapsoul artist takes lead on the track, blending rap and melodies as per usual before Diddy offers a calm, cool, and collected set of bars. Despite acknowledging the objects of their eyes have found new men, the two sound composed. Perhaps due to experience or due to a nonchalant approach to heartbreak.

For Bryson Tiller, “Gotta Move On” follows his May collaboration “What Would You Do?” alongside Joel Corry and Tiana Major9. Otherwise, the Louisville lyricist hasn’t had a proper individual release since 2021’s A Different Christmas featuring Kiana Lede, Justin Bieber, and more. Diddy is set to have an album coming soon, which would be his first since 2015’s MMM but he has had a hand in music the entire time, namely executive production on Burna Boy’s 2020 album Twice As Tall.

HER Is Being Sued Over A Supposed Sample By Gospel Group Take 6 On Her Hit ‘Could’ve Been’

Nominated for Best Contemporary R&B Song at the 62nd Grammy Awards, HER’s “Could’ve Been” featuring Bryson Tiller has been a considerable hit for the singer. But a lawsuit filed Tuesday by acapella gospel group Take 6, alleges that HER’s song uses an “obvious” sample of the sextet’s song, “Come Unto Me.”

HER (neé Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson), producer Dernest “D’Mile” Emile II, and Sony Music Entertainment are among the defendants named in a document obtained by Billboard. The lawsuit claims that, “‘Could’ve Been’ is a song comprised of substantially similar compositional, rhythmic and lyrical elements to ‘Come Unto Me,’” adding that, “Defendants have profited greatly from the commercial success of the infringing composition and infringing sound recording.”

Listening to “Could’ve Been” (above) there is what sounds like a gospel sample auto-tuned into the production backbone. But it’s not immediately discernible as Take 6’s “Come Unto Me” (below).

Take 6’s attorney, James Walker, disagrees, telling Billboard that it is in fact “obvious.” Walker also stated that he consulted with a musicologist to confirm his and the group’s suspicion. “Come Unto Me” netted Take 6 a Best Contemporary Soul Gospel award at the 33rd Grammys, so it’s fairly notable. Still, before the case can advance to court, a judge will have to determine if the sample sounds close enough to the Grammy-winning single to warrant it. You can listen to both above.

Jack Harlow Shares Confident DMs He Sent Bryson Tiller When He Was 17

Bryson Tiller is only a few years older than Jack Harlow (29 vs. 24, respectively), but that didn’t stop Harlow from looking up to his fellow Louisville, Kentucky native in his younger days. As Harlow is gearing up to release Come Home The Kids Miss You next week, he took a moment to shout out Tiller by sharing a DM exchange they had when Harlow was 17.

It started last night when Tiller offered some unsolicited support for Harlow, tweeting, “get ready for my bro Jack’s new album. soon you’ll see why he is number 1. MAY 6th.” Harlow responded by writing, “Dreams come true,” and sharing a screenshot of a DM exchange they had on June 30, 2015.

In it, Harlow starts by thanking Tiller for how well he has represented Louisville on a big stage. Harlow then noted the influence Tiller had on him while expressing confidence about where he himself would end up, writing, “I’m a massive fan dude and study your every move. I just turned 17 and I’m very confident in my craft and trajectory of my career.”

After Harlow concluded by calling Tiller a “hometown hero” and expressing his desire to meet, Tiller responded, “thanks man I appreciate it. keep working. anything is possible.”

Indeed, it does seem like anything is possible for Harlow: His debut album, 2020’s Thats What They All Say, went No. 5 and Harlow has two No. 1 singles to his name: “First Class” and his Lil Nas X collaboration “Industry Baby.”

Jack Harlow is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Bryson Tiller, Justin Bieber, And Poo Bear Deal With Holiday Heartbreak On ‘Lonely Christmas’

Earlier this year, Bryson Tiller shared a deluxe reissue for his third album Anniversary. The re-release extended the project’s original ten songs to 15 while recruiting Big Sean to join Drake as the small cast of guest acts on the project. While some might’ve believed that was all Tiller had to offer in 2021, the Lousiville singer is back with another body of work to bring in the holiday season: A Different Christmas, which is highlighted by “Lonely Christmas” with Justin Bieber and Poo Bear.

The song leans towards the acoustic side of things as the trio sings through heartbreak and the realization that the holiday season won’t be spent with the people they held closest to their hearts. As for the rest of A Different Christmas, the project also sports appearances from Kiana Lede, Tayla Parx, and Halo.

Prior to its release, Tiller spoke about A Different Christmas and shared what inspired him to create it. “Before we get into my next album, I wanted to share another special project I worked on for you guys,” he wrote. “This one was really fun to make. Inspired by Bieber, Ariana, and by one of my loneliest holiday seasons ever.”

Bryson Tiller Announces A ‘Special’ Christmas Project Inspired By Justin Bieber And Ariana Grande

Bryson Tiller has a lot of music on the way. After he took just a little over five years without new music, he released his third album, Anniversary, at the end of last year. Once again, Tiller is gearing up to close out the year with a new release and he took to Twitter to make the announcement.

“Before we get into my next album, i wanted to share another special project i worked on for you guys,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “This one was really fun to make. Inspired by Bieber, Ariana, and by one of my loneliest holiday seasons ever.. A Different Christmas.” He added, “Happy Holidays from me to you, especially if you’re spending them alone!”

Tiller revealed that the project will arrive next Friday, November 19. Tiller also attached the cover art. The inspirational Christmas projects from Bieber and Grande that he refers to are most likely Bieber’s 2011 release Under The Mistletoe and Grande’s 2013 EP Christmas Kisses as well her 2015 EP Christmas & Chill.

The announcement comes after he gave an update on his upcoming album Serenity earlier this year. “Over the years, I realized how much f*cking music that I had for Serenity, all this different sh*t, so Serenity is now not one album, but it’s three albums,” he said. “It’s three volumes, one is a rap album, one is an R&B album, and then one is a pop album.”
