Boosie Admits To Breaking Down After Brother Stole Yung Bleu and $469K From Him

Fans may be used to Boosie making headlines over his social media antics, but the Baton Rouge rapper is now sharing a more vulnerable side of his journey after releasing his new book Cross The Tracks: A Memoir. Fresh off the premiere of his film, Waterboyz, which is officially due out on Sept. 28th, Boosie opened up about the dark period in his life when his brother, Taquari Hatch, stole money and a music artist from him.

According to the “Wipe Me Down” rapper, Taquari misappropriated $469k from him right following his release from prison in 2014, after serving five years for a murder charge he was facing. On top of being robbed financially, Boosie also says his brother stole royalties and rights to Yung Bleu’s music when the Alabama rapper was signed to  Boosie’s label, Bad Azz Music Syndicate.

“Man when that money was missing, I broke odd own bro,” the 39-year-old told B High TV. “That was the money I had just came home and got a check with. Everything was gone. Sh*t broke me down.”

The “Set It Off” star admitted that although he was upset about the money, he was more hurt when police came after his brother.

“Then when they arrested him it f****d me up even more. Just think $469K after you come home from a murder charge. That b***h gone. I still ain’t get it back.”

Boosie’s brother is also responsible for Yung Bleu’s signing with Empire Records while Boosie was away. According to the star, Taquari forged his signature on a document that sent Bleu to Empire. Taquari is also listed as a writer on the “You’re Mines Still” rapper’s early works, claiming that he wrote 60 percent of Bleu’s catalog.

Boosie is currently still in a legal battle with his brother in court over royalties owed to Bleu. The brothers reportedly only communicate via text these days. Check out more from the interview below.

Boosie Looks Back On Life Before Prison

Baton Rouge rapper Torrence Hatch, A.K.A “Lil Boosie”, recently went on Revolt and reflected on some of the decisions he’s made in the past. When asked if he would have made different choices the rapper responded with: “I woulda done everything different. I woulda took rapping serious, like, 8-9 years ago. I woulda done it totally different if I could take it back, ’cause I ain’t wanna go to jail man.”

On October 22, 2008, Hatch was arrested after police found marijuana and a Glock in his car. Boosie pled guilty to the drug charges and was sentenced to two years in prison.

The rapper was electronically monitored and placed under house arrest between the time of his plea and sentencing; unfortunately for the 39-year-old, his sentence was doubled once authorities found out he had broken house arrest, thus, violating his probation. In the summer of 2010, Boosie was also charged with first-degree murder. He was 26 at the time.

In late 2009, during his last few hours as a free man, the controversial figure would sit down and talk about his life decisions before being put behind bars soon after. “They’re treating me on who they think I am,” he said at the time. “They judging me on Boosie Bad Azz, not Torrence Hatch.”

The “Wipe Me Down” recording artist explained to Revolt that there’s a difference between the music he makes and the life he actually lives. He also went on to explain the reason for breaking his house arrest, stating that he was sued by promoters for missing his concert dates and was worried that if he missed more shows he wouldn’t have the money to support his family. Boosie was a father of seven at the time, with one more on the way.

“I had to go do these two shows these last two days to feed my family,” Hatch recalled.

The Louisiana-born star is 39 now, and while he wishes he would have done things differently in the past, he understands that he put himself in those situations. “I ain’t wanna go to jail bro. But that’s how it goes, you know? I chose that life,” Torrence admitted during his Revolt interview.

That said, prison may not have been a complete waste of time for the rapper. Boosie has since gone on record to say he wrote over 1,000 songs while locked up, check out more on that here.

Boosie is known for his boisterous attitude and blunt and over the top reactions. Not to long ago he was pulled over by Georgia police, told to get out of the car and handcuffed while the officers searched his car. A video then surfaced of Boosie cussing at the cops and telling them that he would beat their ass. Boosie was recently pulled over once again and his reaction was a bit different, this time he decided to perform a couple of his songs for the officers instead.

“They got me pulled over again so I’m finna perform a concert in front of the police,” Boosie said before he started performing “Set It Off” acapella. “You wanna talk shit/You wanna run your mouth/You want some gangsta’ friends at your motherfucking house/We gonna set this bitch off,” Boosie rapped in front of the officers. He then transitioned and started rapping his song “F*ck the Police.”

“Narcotics, fuck ’em/Feds, fuck ’em/D.A., fuck ’em/we don’t need you bitches on our street/say it with me, fuck the police, fuck the police/Without that badge you a bitch and a half nigga fuck the police.”

Officers say that Boosie was going 73mph in a 55mph zone and threw something out of the car window before being pulled over. Once they stopped the car, they said they smelled weed which prompted them to ask Boosie to step out of the car. The cops said that they found a small amount of weed in the car but did not cite Boosie for it.

In another video Boosie shared shows him holding $30k in his hand and asking the police officer whether or not he and his affiliate are going to jail or not. He then tells the officer he can give him a job and it comes with “unconventional benefits.”

“Are we going to jail or not. that’s the question. The money is ready,” Boosie said. “30k that’s what i keep in my pocket to spend in a day.” He then went on to ask the officer how much he makes in a year, to which he did not respond. “If you ever get tired of them you can come work for me. I’ll pay you double. Because you don’t talk much I like you. And get your d*ck sucked any time you want,” Boosie added.

Boosie Badazz Says NBA Youngboy Shouldn’t Have Collaborated with Lil Nas X: “We Represent a Certain Group”

Boosie Badazz Says NBA Youngboy Shouldn't Have Collaborated with Lil Nas X: "We Represent a Certain Group"

In July, the first official collaboration between Lil Nas X and NBA Youngboy happened in “Late To Da Party (F*CK BET).” The single also obviously served as a diss toward BET after Nas X didn’t receive any BET Award nominations.

Returning to Vlad TV to get everything off his chest for this month, Boosie Badazz states he was not a fan of Youngboy hopping on the track with Lil Nas.

“If ever see YoungBoy, I’ll tell him how I feel about that,” Boosie said. “I thought YoungBoy was like me. We represent a certain group of people and what we do affect those people. That’s why I always try to stay a hundred. I thought he was like me in a certain, a lot of ways. I don’t want to talk about it on camera how I feel about it, but if I ever see him, I’ll tell him how I feel.”

The relationship between Boosie and Youngboy has been a bit fragile lately, so it may not be best if he approaches the rapper about the single.

Boosie Badazz was one of many dissed by NBA Youngboy on his “I Hate YoungBoy” single. “Feel like Boosie don’t even like me, bitch, don’t call my phone, fuck you,” the young Louisiana star rapped. Once again sitting with DJ Vlad, Boosie revealed why he did not reach out to Youngboy and dissed him on a song instead.

“Because I don’t wanna kill him,” Boosie said. “So, I just wanted to say what I had to say. I ain’t really promote the song. I just wanted to say what I had to say. I just felt like, I’ll say what I had to say over the mic and that’s it, you know? Like I said, my first and last time speaking on it. I was gon’ say what I had to say, and that’s it.”

In October 2021, Boosie had beef with Lil Nas X and went on a full-on attack of Lil Nas X in a homophobic rant and suggested Lil Nas commit suicide.

“STOP TROLLING ME F—– LOL!! U A WHOLE B—- PLAYING WITH A GANGSTA SMH U CAN KEEP SUCKING D— N GETTIN F—ED N YOUR A– N PEACE N #uhateyourself I WOULD TOO IF I WAS YOU LOL NASx IF YOU #commitsuicide YOU WOULD DO THIS WORLD A HUGE FAVOR NOBODY WANTS U HERE,” Badazz tweeted.

Among those who saw Boosie’s words online was Lil Nas X’s father, Robert Stafford, who had words of his own for the “Wipe Me Down” rapper.

“How the hell you’re a gangsta rapper promoting drugs, gun violence, degrading women and getting high every video talking about you’re for the kids man sit your old man looking ass down,” Stafford wrote on his Instagram story.

Boosie Insists The Brittney Griner Situation Would Be Much Different If It Was Taylor Swift In Prison

Yesterday’s (August 4) news was not good for Brittney Griner: The WNBA star was found guilty on drug charges in Russia and sentenced to nine years in prison. Ever since the basketball player was first detained in March, there has been outrage about the situation, with a new wave of it coming after yesterday’s ruling. Boosie Badazz in particular had a passionate reaction, in which he pointed fingers.

In a video shared after the news broke, Boosie implies race is an issue when it comes to the United States’ efforts to free Griner, using a Taylor Swift comparison to make his point. He says, “How the hell this girl get nine years for a weed pen… and the USA ain’t doing nothing about it? You tell me that! If that was Taylor Swift, it’d be a peace treaty right now! They’d be drafting to go to war!”

He then set his sights on Vice President Kamala Harris, continuing, “What that show for Black women in the United States?! And the Vice President: as a Black woman, you supposed to be on the front line! You supposed to be on the front line to get that Black woman out of jail! Nine damn years! Y’all f*cked up in this world!”

Check out the video above.

Boosie Badazz Blasts Vice-President Harris, US Officials Over Brittney Griner’s Sentence

22-Year-Old Arrested For Fatal Shooting at Boosie Badazz Video Shoot

Boosie Badazz heard the news about Brittney Griner’s 9-year Russian prison sentence and is speaking out.

“How the hell this girl get nine years for a weed pen?” Boosie said. “And the USA ain’t doing nothing about it. If that was Taylor Swift, there’d be a peace treaty right now. They’d be drafting to go to war. For a weed pen. Nine years!”

He added, “What that show for Black women in the United States? And the Vice-President as a Black woman, you supposed to be on the frontline to get that Black woman out of jail.”

After being convicted guilty of narcotics charges in a Russian court, Griner was given a 9-year prison sentence. Griner, 31, pleaded guilty to narcotics charges and has been imprisoned in Russia since February, where officials claim they discovered a vape cartridge in her luggage containing less than a gram of cannabis oil.

The White House is attempting to negotiate a “prisoner swap” that would involve a Russian arms dealer who is currently imprisoned in the United States, with the two-time Olympic gold medalist at its heart. Griner has been accused of being used as a pawn by the Kremlin.
