Rowdy Rebel Reacts To Bobby Shmurda’s Comments On King Von

Rowdy Rebel found himself in some hot water last week after his appearance on My Expert Opinion. During his appearance, Rowdy commented how he felt the issues between King Von and Lul Tim could’ve been handled differently.

“When King Von died, that Lul Tim n***a, he didn’t have to get out of the car and start squeezing right away. You already got yours drawn,” he said. “You had the upper hand and could have just been like, ‘Yo, back your n***as up and get your dawg outta here.’ But you already chose the murder route.”

Ultimately, Rowdy caused an uproar in NBA Youngboy’s camp, but it was Bobby Shmurda’s response that exasperated the issue further. However, he seemingly backtracked and admitting his collaborator and friend shouldn’t have said anything.

“I felt like that shit came out wrong. He meant it in a good way, like that he wished that none of that shit would’ve happened because he’s a fan of both,” Bobby said. “But sometimes, you can’t talk on other people’s shit. Period.’

“It’s like sometimes these emotions are going to come out so when emotions is high, you don’t want to talk on situations,” he continued. “Sometimes, you gotta say, ‘Man, I just wish the best for everybody,’ and that’s it. Keep it at that. Shut the fuck up and don’t say shit about the situation.”

The response sparked many to believe that Bobby went against Rowdy publicly. However, the “Paid Off” rapper clarified that he has nothing but love for Bobby.

“I cud never beef with my brother Bobby. He free’d me from a whole bid,” he wrote on Instagram. “But yu other n***as hurd what I said.”

In a subsequent post, he added, “I SAID WHAT I SAID.”

Clearly, Rowdy doesn’t have any problems with what Bobby Shmurda said. We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates regarding the situation.

Bobby Shmurda And Rowdy Rebel Are Finally Getting To Tour Together

Here’s a “strange, but true” fact that is truly wild to think about: Despite being famous since they were just barely in their 20s, Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel have never gone on tour. The reason for this: In December 2014, at the height of the mania for Bobby’s hit “Hot N****,” Bobby, Rowdy, and the rest of their crew, GS9, were arrested and charged for gang activity under the RICO Act. In 2016, both rappers took plea deals in exchange for five and six-year sentences, respectively, effectively curtailing their thrilling rise to stardom.

Both were released recently and have had an inspiring comeback that was unfortunately marred by label conflict on Bobby’s side, leading to him splitting from Epic Records and striking out independently with Roc Nation. However, they aren’t letting their newly split-label situation stop them from finally having the triumphant tour they always deserved. This week, they announced their upcoming tour, the Bodmon Tour, with Bobby as headliner supported by Rowdy (oddly enough, Rowdy’s actually the only one to have dropped his full-length debut, Rebel Vs. Rowdy, which he did in July, although Bobby dropped the Bodboy EP in August).

Bobby Shmurda Says He Has No Interest In Making Drill Music: “I Won’t Ever Be A Minion”

Drill music might be the most popular genre coming out of NYC at the moment. However, Bobby Shmurda, a NYC native, says he wont subscribe to the current sound coming out of his city.

On Instagram, Shmurda shared a post of YouTuber Bashworld praising the “Hot N*gga” rapper for his new song “Hoochie Daddy,” and telling people not to categorize his music. Shmurda then said in the caption that he’ll never become a “minion” and make drill music.

“Don’t ever try to put me in a category or in a box you gonna hurt your head,” Shmurda wrote. “I do what Yall haters cant #Nahimsaying. i don’t do drill. I won’t ever be A minion Rrrrr and they can’t clone me really one of a kind.”

However, this is not the first time Shmurda has tried to distance himself from the drill genre. In an interview with AllHipHop, Shmurda said that his music isn’t drill and gave Chief Keef his flowers for pioneering the genre.

“I’m not drill, I’m Shmurda music,” he said. “It’s never drill. Shmurda music. Because the thing is, I feel drill is like the Chief Keef. When I say Chief, anything that came up under him. Because a lot of these n*ggas came up on Chief, the whole thing.”

He continued, saying how he wants people to be able to dance to his music. “My shit is dancing music. All my shit is going to be dancy. Everything you want to do is going to dance to, I think drill music is more like… [dark music] that’s it. My shit is more music to dance but it’s real warrior music. It’s warrior music, champion music, alpha music. It’s Shmurda music. I’m saying that’s all Shmurda. It’s domination.”

Shmurda recently released his first project since being released from prison, entitled Bodboy EP on August 5.

Bobby Shmurda Salutes Joyner Lucas’ Moves as an Independent Artist: “Master P of Our Generation”

Bobby Shmurda hit The Party Starters Podcast and had high praise for Joyner Lucas, dubbing him the “Master P of Our Generation.”

Bobby contextualizes the remark during the conversation by shedding background on Joyner’s career as an independent musician and estimating that Joyner makes about $250,000 per month in revenue by owning all of his music.

Bobby wonders why Joyner, who has recorded platinum and gold-certified hits including “ISIS,” “I’m Not Racist,” “Stranger Things,” “ADHD,” and “Your Heart,” among others, doesn’t get more attention. According to Bobby, if the industry celebrated his accomplishment, record companies would lose all of their negotiating power.

“I’m going to talk about that nigga in every interview,” Shmurda said. “He’s like a Master P in our generation. He’s up off only giving up 20% of his music off distribution. They don’t want to talk about Joyner Lucas becuase they don’t want a bunch of Joyner Lucas.”

Bobby and Joyner collaborated on the “Shmoney Challenge” earlier this summer, offering $25,000 to an independent artist who joined Joyner’s Tully platform, downloaded the Shmoney track, and uploaded the harshest rhyme over the instrumental.

You can hear it from Bobby below.
