Big K.R.I.T. Rings In 2023 With “Birthday Song”

After a steady run in 2022, Big K.R.I.T is kicking off the year on a high note. The Mississippi-born rapper emerged on New Year’s Day with his latest release, “Birthday Song.” Though his birthday is actually in August, “Birthday Song” is a short offering that bridges together influences of bounce music, tinges of crunk, and twangy Southern hip-hop for an infectious bop to jumpstart the new year. K.R.I.T isn’t necessarily showcasing his lyrical prowess on this record but instead, provides an upbeat bop to keep everyone’s spirits high as they enter 2023.

“We gonna start this year off right! Happy Birthday From Me To You! Capricorns you’re up first… Let’s Go,” he wrote, hinting that he might have even more birthday-themed anthems in the works for this year.

Though K.R.I.T. is a rather lowkey figure, he emerged last year with a slew of excellent projects. He blessed fans with his latest solo studio album, Digital Roses Don’t Die, boasting 17 songs with a single feature from Rolynné. Afterward, he joined forces with Smoke DZA, Wiz Khalifa, and Girl Talk for their joint project, Full Court Press. The album contained 10 songs in total with Curren$y joining them on the tracklist.

While K.R.I.T. is already blessing us with some new heat to set the tone for 2023, he’s approaching a huge milestone in his career. In April, he’ll celebrate the 10-year anniversary of his 2013 mixtape, King Remembered In Time. The project further showcased the rapper’s production style with appearances from Southern staples like Future and Bun B.

Ice Spice Shows Off A Whole Lot Of Cake On Her 23rd Birthday

We saw several artists rise in popularity throughout 2022, though none of them had a breakout year quite like Ice Spice. In the late summer, the New Yorker seemingly came out of nowhere with her “Munch (Feelin’ U)” track. Since then, her star has only ascended to new heights.

To close out December, the redhead fed her fans one last track, “in ha mood.” It had previously gone viral on TikTok, and though she didn’t share the song on DSPs, it is available for streaming on SoundCloud and YouTube.

In the caption of that upload, Spice teased that her debut project is on the way – hopefully sometime in early 2023. The curvaceous artist’s year is already off to a great start, as she celebrates her 23rd birthday today (January 1).

To commemorate the exciting moment, she posted some salacious snapshots that chiefly find her flaunting her behind for the camera. “Cake day and I got a lot,” her caption reads.

The first photo finds Spice’s cheeks breaking out beneath a black outfit in the mirror. Next, she steps outside to tan her figure in a tiny bikini paired with bright fuzzy slippers. Other additions include tropical beach shots, a video originally uploaded on TikTok, and a beautiful display of rose petals laid out on her bed.

Additionally, the “Bikini Bottom” hitmaker recreated the carousel’s first photo, though this time around she bared far more skin – and booty.

Plenty of friends have dropped by the comment section already to send Spice birthday greetings. “Damn shawty [heart eyes emoji],” Chloe Bailey wrote alongside hers. Rubi Rose, Nas-X” class=”text-word” target=”_blank” >Lil Nas X, and Lakeyah also left kind words for the Bronx baddie.

Last month, Ice Spice joined Erykah Badu and her daughter for an interview. During their chat, the former made it known that her dream collaborations are Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat.

Drake Calls Kevin Durant His “Executive Producer”

Drake loves basketball. The Toronto rapper runs his own rec league, the championship of which he’s won twice now, and obsessively shares his son’s skills in the sport on social media. He’s also friends with quite a few professional players, including Kevin Durant.

On Thursday, Drake shouted out his friend, who was celebrating his thirty-fourth birthday. He also gave him an unexpected title. “More life to my exec producer @easymoneysniper,” the 6 God wrote in an Instagram Story.

Drake and Durant have had an amicable relationship for a while. Back in 2016, Drake shouted out KD in his song “Weston Road Flows” off of Views.

Now, it seems like they’re more buddy-buddy than ever. A couple weeks ago, Durant and Drizzy were spotted on a night out in New York City. The two were celebrating, and people speculated it was an early birthday bonanza for Durant. Unsurprisingly, the two were swarmed by adoring fans as they left a party and got into their vehicles.

Both men have been experiencing a bit of drama as of late. Drake recently got into a bizarre beef with YouTube music critic Anthony Fantano. “Your existence is a light 1,” Drake DM’d Fantano, referring to the critic’s rating scale. “And the 1 is cause you are alive. And cause you somehow wifed a black girl. I’m feeling a light to decent 1 on your existence.”

Durant, meanwhile, has been embroiled in a tumultuous relationship with the Nets, which seems to have settled down for the time being. Happy birthday, KD.
