SoundCloud Could Be Sold For More Than $1 Billion

For years, SoundCloud has been one of the primary platforms that hundreds of thousands of rap fans use to stream and share music. The freeform streaming platform provides almost anyone the opportunity to upload their music and let other fans online find it. While the platform doesn’t seem like it’s going anywhere any time soon, it could have some new owners soon. Rumors circulating around music industry trade sites speculate that it could sell for a hefty price tag soon.

The story originated with Sky News which reported that two of SoundCloud’s shareholders are getting the ball rolling on a potential sale. They’re reportedly talking to investment banks about a “prospective auction of the company.” Fans of the platform don’t have to worry about any immediate changes though. The report specifically mentions that the sale isn’t expected to get underway for at least a few months. A majority stake in the company was purchased by Raine Group and Temasek Holdings in 2017. They’re the same two who have reportedly begun asking about a potential sale.

SoundCloud Could Be Sold Later This Year

One of the most eye-popping elements of the story is the potential price tag the streaming platform could fetch. While a specific amount hasn’t been settled on yet there’s speculation that it could fetch more than $1 billion. That’s a substantial increase from the when the pair took over as majority owners in 2017. At that time the company was valued at $300 million.

SoundCloud continues to be a unique outlet for sharing rap and electronic music in particular. Just last week, 03 Greedo shared his new EP exclusively to the platform. Last year, Bryson Tiller shared an entire new mixtape exclusively to SoundCloud. He followed it up with a single exclusive to the platform earlier this week. What do you think of SoundCloud potentially being sold later this year? Do you use the platform to stream music? Does a price tag of over $1 billion seem like the right amount for the platform? Sauce Walka Wouldn’t Ever Work With 6ix9ine, Not Even For A Billion Dollars

Sauce Walka isn’t a big fan of 6ix9ine, just like a lot of other members of the rap community. However, it’s fair to say that a lot of the rainbow-haired rapper’s haters would switch up in a heartbeat for a big stack of cash. But the Houston MC isn’t like the other haters; he could get a billion-dollar offer and he still won’t record a single word for a collaboration. Moreover, Walka was recently on the Clearly Cultured podcast, and the hosts asked him if he would work with Tekashi for a million dollars. When he responded no, they raised the stakes, and he maintained his steadfast disapproval of the notion.

“I can’t do it, I can’t do it, I can’t do it” Sauce Walka told the show’s hosts. “Why would I go rap with this man when I can have a great time, a threesome and make a million in two, three months? I would’ve signed the record deal. One hundred million, a billion- I would not do it. I will not do no song with a person that told on somebody- that deliberately did this in front of the whole world and I have full information of this before. I know that you did this to the world and you represent this.”

Sauce Walka Would Turn Down A Billion Dollars To Not Work With 6ix9ine

Furthermore, another rapper who agrees with Sauce Walka in this regard is Soulja Boy, who got asked if he’d work with 6ix9ine on the It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper podcast. “N***a, hell no!” he exclaimed. “I ain’t doin’ no damn song with you, get the f**k outta here! Yeah, we can’t do no song with 6ix9ine, he know that! He not expectin’ to get a Soulja Boy verse, he know that. It’s a wrap.

“It ain’t got nothin’ to do with me,” Big Draco continued. “We ain’t never did a song before, why we gon’ do one now? Why now though? You could’ve did that when you first came out, the year after you came out… it’s too late! It’s way too late.” For more news and the latest updates on 6ix9ine and Sauce Walka, keep checking in with HNHH.

NLE Choppa Wants $1 Billion For His Catalog

Artists selling their entire musical catalogs have become increasingly common in recent years. Legacy acts like The Beatles. Michael Jackson and Bob Dylan have fetched hundreds of millions of dollars for the rights to their music. Now a number of rappers like Dr. Dre, Lil Wayne, Future, and Logic have sold the rights to their music. Now in a recent Tweet, NLE Choppa mused on how much he could sell his catalog for.

“I could sell my catalog for a billion right now,” the rapper’s tweet says. NLE Choppa’s discography is no pushover. It includes his 2020 album Top Shotta which cracked the top 10 and has since been certified platinum. It also includes 4 top 40 hits from throughout his career. “Shotta Flow,” “Camelot,” “Walk Em Down” with Roddy Rich, and “Slut Me Out” have all been fixtures of the Hot 100 in the past. Despite his accomplishments $1 billion might still be a stretch for Choppa compared to what some other catalogs have been sold for.

NLE Choppa Aims High For His Catalog

Back in April, NLE Choppa treated fans to an entire new album on Cottonwood 2. The project was well received by listeners and debuted at number 21 on the Billboard 200. Subsequently, he followed it up with a deluxe edition that stretched the album out to a lengthy 31 tracks. His prolific streak hasn’t stopped since then either as he’s appeared as a featured artist on numerous songs. He also dropped a music video for the song “COLD GAME” and shared a throwback pic of himself with Rick Ross on Instagram to celebrate.

That video likely won’t be the only one Choppa releases this year as he recently shot a new music video at the zoo. While his new album was still fresh in people’s minds he tried to do some public service by funding a “dream:” basketball court in Memphis. Just two weeks after it was built however parts of it were damaged in a fire. How much do you think NLE Choppa’s catalog is worth? Let us know in the comment section below.

Juice WRLD Hits 30 Billion Streams On Spotify Alone

Juice WRLD just hit another huge milestone in his career, even years after his tragic passing. Moreover, it was recently revealed that the Chicago star recently surpassed 30 billion streams on Spotify alone across all credits. With that in mind, and not even considering his streams on platforms like Apple Music and YouTube, he stands as one of the most streamed artists of all time. Recently, close friend and collaborator Cole Bennet celebrated another achievement in each of their careers. Via Instagram, he revealed that the first Juice video he ever shot recently reached 300 million views on YouTube.

Said example is just one of many where you can see the 21-year-old’s legacy and impact continue to manifest. Another takes a much more personal and somber tone, and it comes from Polo G. Furthermore, the fellow Chicago MC expressed that he stopped taking Percocet because of Juice WRLD passing away far too soon. ““It made me look at a lot of s**t differently,” Polo stated. “That made me stop popping Percocets altogether, though. ‘Cause I know he wouldn’t want me on that s**t.”

Juice WRLD Achieves Massive Spotify Streams Milestone

Not only that, but the “Pop Out” artist’s decision even influenced his own father to follow in his footsteps. “Being able to see that and say, ‘Damn, my son can get it together’ — I need to [as well],” Taurus Bartlett Sr. said. Despite his deafening absence, fans still get plenty of music from Juice WRLD often thanks to his estate releasing posthumous tracks. While this practice isn’t favored by many out there, it at least gives fans some sense of what could’ve been. Moreover, the most recent offering from Juice comes from his recently released single, “The Light.

However, those posthumous releases often come with baggage- and sometimes, they’re not treated with due respect. For example, fans expressed outrage when Juice’s name was removed from the cover art of a posthumous The Kid LAROI collab. “I had NOTHING to do with this & had no idea it was even a thing until now,” LAROI tweeted to clarify. “I’ve hit the label and asked them to change it back. I’m sorry & genuinely have no clue why [they changed it] without my permission. I would never approve of that. EVER.” Regardless of that unfortunate development, let us know your favorite album or songs from the late legend down below. Also, log back into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Juice WRLD.

50 Cent Facing Mediation In Lawsuit From Former Drug Kingpin Over “Power” For $1 Billion

When art gets a little too close to reality for comfort, people often try to take back control of their story from the entertainment business. That’s what happened to 50 Cent, who faces a $1 billion lawsuit from a former drug kingpin alleging that 50’s show Power is based on his life. Moreover, this news broke back in 2021, which means they’ve had years to discuss it behind the scenes. However, given a mediation conference scheduled for May, it seems like the legal action could finally manifest into a case. Still, it seems like it’ll be a tough case to beat for Corey “Ghost” Holland Sr. given the timeframe.

Furthermore, 50’s legal team maintains that the one-year statute of limitations in New York law makes the suit invalid. The show wrapped up in February of 2020, whereas Holland’s lawsuit came in April of 2021. Also, they contend that the show is entirely fictional and no rational person could assume that it’s based on Holland’s life. Regardless, his lawsuit took aim at the Queens rapper, the STARZ network, and series creator Courtney Kemp.

50 Cent Anticipates Mediation Over $1 Billion Power Lawsuit

What’s more is that court documents indicate that Holland sent a copy of his Blasphemy CD to Kemp’s father in 2007. He claims that they used this tape for inspiration, especially a track about his experiences as a drug dealer. Not only that, but he believes the seven acts in his CD mirror the seven season of Power and the first two seasons of its spinoff, Power Book II: Ghost. In addition, he claimed that 50 Cent showed up at his home shortly after the suit was filed to confront and instigate a fight between them.

Meanwhile, Fif’s legal team never replied to Holland’s sanction requests over the visit, and the court ordered them to try to work things out. Moreover, the upcoming mediation in May could be the first time they meet, as 50’s alleged visit went awry. Given the massive price tag attached to the suit and the rapper’s magnanimous public profile, perhaps it would be in their best interests to reach an agreement instead of provoke a firestorm in court. Regardless, come back to HNHH for updates on this story and the latest on 50 Cent.
