For those who might have missed it, Megan Thee Stallion dropped her new single, “Hiss,” where she called out a bunch of other rappers. One line in particular, which had a reference to “Megan’s Law,” sparked a feud with Nicki Minaj.

Over the weekend, Minaj posted about Megan, calling her out repeatedly for the lyric. She also fired back with her own track, titled “Big Foot,” as she had been calling Megan that — due to both her tall height and the Tory Lanez shooting incident.

Although Nicki Minaj calling Megan Thee Stallion “big foot” gained traction this weekend and through her song, one Twitter user pointed out that she had been calling her that for quite a while. The user directed to a tweet that Uproxx cover star Latto made back in 2022, where she had shared DM’s between herself and Minaj during an argument.

In one of Minaj’s replies, she wrote, “I could say the same thing. But would you or big foot care? No,” seemingly referencing Megan in the comment.

After a weekend of social media warfare, various Instagram Live shots, Twitter tirades, and a whole lot more, Nicki Minaj’s diss track aimed at Megan Thee Stallion, “Big Foot,” is finally here. If you’re just catching up on this story, here’s the gist of it. Megan dropped her single “HISS” last week, which contained a not-so-subliminal dig at her fellow femcee, plus plenty of other names. After folks reacted wildly to it online, Nicki came through with some responses on social media: some typed, others spoke, but none recorded or rapped as bars. Now, we finally have the response cut, and all that’s left to do is see whether the Houston MC will respond in kind.

On that last note, up until this point, Megan Thee Stallion’s been content to ignore the hullabaloo for now and enjoy the success of “HISS.” But these new bars from Nicki Minaj, taking aim at her skill level, the Tory Lanez case, and her inner circle, might inspire the “Cobra” to leave the cave. As far as the instrumental, it’s classic Barbz fare, with the energy and bombast that you would expect to contain and highlight such a powerful personality. However, “Big Foot” isn’t perfect (no diss song is, and that’s what makes them compelling), and fans will likely debate its worth until the next one drops. While it’s sad to see two females clash in a male-driven world that’s profiting off their beef, we can’t pretend like this competitiveness and foot-on-necks attitude isn’t exciting, compelling, and commendable.

“Little Miss Flint” Seeks Positive Change From Nicki Minaj & Megan Thee Stallion Beef

Meanwhile, Mari Copeny, aka “Little Miss Flint”, has stepped into the ongoing beef between Minaj and Megan. “Hey @NICKIMINAJ and @theestallion I have an idea! Let me introduce myself. We need you honey,” one commentator wrote on the app. Many other commenters joined in, asking for the controversial musician to weigh in. It remains to be seen if Banks will step into the arena and share her thoughts on the drama that has captured social media’s attention.

Banks has previously stepped in to protect Minaj. When Minaj was feuding with Kanye West over her refusal to clear “New Body”, Banks went after West. “Okay. Now I’m really pissed the f-ck off. Nicki Minaj has announced the release of a new single, “Bigfoot”. The track will drop at 3 PM PST on January 28, according to a tweet from Minaj herself. Furthermore, Minaj announced the track with the inclusion of an image of Megan Thee Stallion looking unimpressed. For many fans, this signaled that the track could be a direct musical response to Megan’s recently released “Hiss”.

The beef between the two rappers absolutely exploded this week after Megan’s new track took shots at Nicki. Specifically, Megan took aim at the various connections to sex offenders that Minaj has in her life. The line “Megan’s Law” in “Hiss” refers to the sex offender registry law that Minaj’s husband fell afoul of. Kenneth Petty, who was a childhood friend of Minaj’s, served four years in prison for the attempted rape of a minor. Minaj’s response has mostly been limited to Twitter until the surprise track announcement.

Fans Discuss Problematic Nature Of Nicki Minaj Alter Ego

However, the beef has proven divisive among rap fans. While some believe that Megan went too far, others are starting to see a disturbing trend for Minaj. The beef led some fans to take a closer look at “Roman Zolanski”, the alter ego that Minaj occasionally drops verses as. However, many fans are now only learning for the first time that Minaj has never shied from Roman’s name being a play on that of Roman Polanski. Polanski is an Oscar-winning director who is perhaps best known for pleading guilty to statutory rape of a minor. The girl was 13 at the time of the rape and had also been drugged by Polanski.

Nicki has already dipped into the Roman well at least once during this beef with Megan. “Megan’s law. For a free beat you could hit #MeganRAW,” Minaj tweeted late Friday night. Furthermore, the tweet was signed “Roman”. While the tweet could be taken several ways, one popular theory is that it refers to rumors about Megan’s ex, Pardison Fontaine. As noted on Megan’s late 2023 track “Cobra”, she allegedly walked in on her ex having unprotected sex with another woman in her bed.

Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva is a meme among MMA fans. The Brazilian fighter debuted in 2005 and went 16-3 in his first 19 fights. This led the UFC to extend an invitation to Bigfoot, who made his promotion debut at UFC 146. While he lost to Cain Velasquez in that fight, he earned back-to-back victories in his next two bouts. After suffering three losses and a no-contest in his next four fights, he took down Soa Palelei at UFC 190.

But that’s where Silva’s success ended and his meme status began. At the time of writing, Bigfoot has lost his 11 most recent MMA fights. He was cut from the UFC in 2016, after losing his three subsequent fights following his over Palelei. Despite this, he has not found success in other, lower-tier promotions. Furthermore, Silva has failed spectacularly at all other combat sports he has tried his hand at. Kickboxing? 0-2. Professional boxing? 0-1. Bare-knuckle boxing? 0-1. Silva has truly ascended to sporting meme status.

Silva initially retired in December 2022, saying that “everyone had a limit.” However, he then un-retired in order to fight Salim El Ouassaidi at the first iteration of Kingdom Fighting. Losing via unanimous decision, Silva re-retired after the fight. Despite this, Bigfoot just can’t stay away from MMA it seems. Speaking on social media, Silva announced that he was un-retiring again and was challenging El Ouassaidi to a rematch.
