Snoop Dogg Calls Out The Los Angeles Lakers For A Disappointing Season

Snoop Dogg is a big NBA fan, so it’s no surprise that he is a member of Laker Nation and is one of many fans disappointed with how the Los Angeles Lakers have shown their basketball prowess this season. They kicked off on a great foot, but with a current eighth seed placement in the Western Conference and a 3-7 record for their past ten games, things don’t look great. As such, many die-hards are calling on general manager Rob Pelinka and owner Jeanie Buss to make some big moves as executives, including Tha Doggfather. He recently stopped by ESPN‘s First Take on Friday (December 13) to make his demands clear.

“I think that we need to make some changes, man,” Snoop Dogg remarked. “Like, we brought back the exact same team from last year. No disrespect, but that ain’t gon’ cut it. We need to make some moves, move some people around, and you know, make some adjustments. Like, Jeanie, what’s the dude’s name? Hello, where you at? What you doing? Come on, man, make some moves, some adjustments. There’s some people out there that we can have on our squad, and you just got to make the decision that it’s time to make that move. Because, as Laker fans, y’all are on the clock. Y’all got to hurry up before we end up cussing y’all out and going all in on y’all like we normally do. Right now, we’re on television being very professional. But on Instagram, y’all can get it.”

Snoop Dogg Demands A Big Move From The Los Angeles Lakers

Trade season in the NBA this year will open up Zach LaVine, Brandon Ingram, Jimmy Butler, and more for a potential slot, so we’ll see if the Lakers do anything. As for Snoop Dogg, he’s got more pressing matters to focus on, such as his new album with Dr. Dre, Missionary. But he’ll also defend his fandom and push his team to greatness whenever he can.

Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg also recently opened up about his daughter’s stroke and how difficult it was for the family to handle. Fortunately, it seems like things are much better now.

J Cole Apologized To This NBA Champion For Dissing Him Over A Decade Ago

J Cole is indulging in a lot of nostalgia these days alongside his fans. He released new versions of 2014 Forest Hills Drive with bonus tracks for its tenth anniversary, put his early mixtapes on streaming for the first time, and even launched an audio series titled Inevitable going over his career. But this means that the North Carolina rapper also reflected on some previous mistakes, which has apparently been a months-long process. Moreover, former NBA player Shane Battier recently revealed on his podcast that Cole actually apologized to him earlier in 2024 (specifically this summer) for dissing him on the Cole World: The Sideline Story track “Rise and Shine.”

We in two different games, you playing patty cake / Brother you’re lame, you’re Shane Battier,” J. Cole rapped on the cut 13 years ago. For those unaware, Cole is a big supporter of his UNC Tar Heels, the NCAA basketball team whose rivals are Duke. Shane Battier played for Duke, and the Miami Heat champion explained on his Glue Guys podcast that he just saw this as a stray shot from a passionate sports fan.

Shane Batter Recalls J Cole Apologizing To Him

But then, Shane Battier told the story about how, one day, he was eating dinner in Miami when a waiter told him that J. Cole was there and wanted to apologize to him. “I’m like, ‘Who’s bulls**tting me here?’” Battier joked. “Like, there’s someone yanking my chain. Like, ‘Ha ha, very funny. I get it, guys. I’m lame.’ And, sure enough, I go around the corner and J. Cole was way bigger than I thought in real life. Basketball, like, 6’5″, he’s a big dude. And he’s like, ‘Hey man, I was praying for this moment, that we would have this moment to where I could say, you know what, man, my bad, I was young.’”

Of course, many hip-hop fans out there probably can’t hear this story without thinking about J. Cole’s apology to Kendrick Lamar for dissing him earlier this year. But it just goes to show how big Cole’s heart can get, even when he doesn’t need to clarify a 13-year-old diss. Props to Shane Battier for respecting the mutual UNC/Duke hate and taking it like a champ!

Rihanna & Angel Reese Lock In A Collab During Award Show

Rihanna and Angel Reese just made their admiration for one another very clear thanks to some new social media posts from the Footwear News Achievement Awards in New York City on Wednesday (December 4). The latter received the honors for the Style Influencer of the Year award, whereas the former just hung out there with her boo A$AP Rocky. When they crossed paths, Reese shared some videos of their interaction to her Instagram page, with them even remarking on how they want to collaborate on something in the future. We have no idea what this link-up could look like, but either way, we’re excited for both of them to garner more pop culture crossovers.

Beyond Rihanna, though, Angel Reese has met plenty of other celebrities and musicians amid her newfound fame as a WNBA superstar. However, not all of them have the same results. For example, fans clowned DDG for a promo video he did with the Chicago Sky player, making it clear just how much shorter he is than her. He seemed to take it all in stride, though, as it’s hard not to anticipate those types of comments flooding engagement.

Anyways, back to this collab tease. The most obvious and logical way in which Rihanna could work with Angel Reese is if they endorse or promote each others’ brands. RiRi has a pretty huge one in Savage X Fenty, so perhaps that’s the vehicle through which they can cause some pop culture mayhem. As for Reese, she has a boatload of endorsement deals, business ventures, and media spaces of her own, so she could always invite the Barbadian singer on for some of those.

Meanwhile, even if this collaboration doesn’t manifest, we’re sure that Rihanna and Angel Reese have some big plans for 2025. They often have to reckon with new music demands or creepy podcast interactions to get where they want to go, but those haven’t stopped them so far. Fans want to hear some new gems and see more great games. But it’s clear that these women have far more tools in their arsenal to build their presences and support each other.

Cam’ron & Mase React To Draya Michele Eviction Drama And Rope Jalen Green Into It

New York Jets quarterback Tyrod Taylor reportedly tried to get police to evict his ex girlfriend, Draya Michele, from the Los Angeles home he bought for them. Moreover, there are a lot of conflicting claims here, primarily the idea that they had an arrangement in which Michele would rent out and eventually purchase the property. But it seems like once she started dating Houston Rockets hooper Jalen Green, Taylor changed his mind and allegedly filed an eviction lawsuit against her. However, Michele claims that he never properly served her, so she suffered a default judgement. As you can probably tell, it’s all pretty complicated right now. But Mase and Cam’ron are here to make it easy for you.

Moreover, the two addressed this situation on their sports talk show It Is What It Is, roping in the highly publicized relationship between Draya Michele and Jalen Green. Mase posited that, if Michele has a new boyfriend in Green, then he should be the one who lets her stay over, not Tyrod Taylor. Cam’ron seemed to agree, but he couldn’t help but understand why the basketball player would want to keep Michele at a distance.

Cam’ron & Mase Discuss Draya Michele Situation

Overall, they had some other jokes and assessments about the Draya Michele eviction situation, which at least did not turn out to be as controversial as other sports headlines recently. In fact, Cam’ron and Mase even took a little responsibility for LaMello Ball making a homophobic joke on air recently. “I blame myself, I really do, man,” Cam shared. “I blame the east side of Harlem. You got this in Jefferson Projects probably in 1996 when we were saying this. And before that — what the f**k? God damn, we did this a long time. To be honest with you, this is why we started saying ‘Pause.’ We used to say what Melo said, but we were like, ‘The people are sensitive, you get fined.’ And that’s why we don’t say it anymore.”

Meanwhile, Draya Michele has her own scandals to handle, and they don’t even have anything to do with Tyrod Taylor or Jalen Green. We’ll see how all these sagas continue to evolve and maybe even inform each other.

Kyrie Irving Faces $390k Lawsuit Over Chaotic Family Retreat

Kyrie Irving is facing a $390K lawsuit from a wellness company that accuses him of leaving a hefty bill unpaid. The company made the allegation in a lawsuit filed on Monday in New York, according to TMZ Sports. The company, Elite Mind Solutions, claims Irving asked them to cater to 50 to 60 attendees for a family retreat from June 28 to July 2 but upped the headcount to 115 just days before. Then, on the day of, he allegedly brought 150 people.

Elite Mind Solutions further claims an attendee unexpectedly died during the event, which prompted the use of crisis intervention services. The filing notes that “continuation was only possible due to Plaintiff’s extraordinary efforts.” They say that altogether, the event racked up a bill of $390,710, which the Dallas Mavericks star has allegedly completely ducked paying. “[Irving] knowingly accepted these services and derived significant benefits from them,” the complaint reads. “Yet they refuse to compensate Plaintiff.”

Part of the reason Elite Mind Solutions trusted Irving’s promise to “handle all costs” was because they had a good relationship with him since 2020. “Defendants made false representations… with the intent to induce Plaintiff to continue performing services,” the lawsuit claims. “Mr. Irving and his company benefited enormously from Plaintiff’s services, including the continuation of the retreat in the wake of a tragic incident.” Altogether, the lawsuit accuses him of unjust enrichment and fraud.

Irving has yet to respond publicly to the lawsuit. He’s currently focused on his season with the Dallas Mavericks as the team stands at 13-8 and in 5th place in the Western Conference. He and the team will take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night.

Bronny James Earns Rare Praise From His G-League Teammate

Bronny James is getting plenty of love from his new teammates on the Los Angeles Lakers’ G-League affiliate team. 21-year-old Armel Traore caught up with TMZ at LAX and in doing so, praised the son of NBA legend LeBron James. “He’s my guy,” the small forward said. “And I like everyone on the team, we’re a family.”

Of being in the G-League himself, Traore added: “I’m blessed to be here. Just wanna keep going, it’s just the start. Every time I get my chance in the big gym, I’m showing my stuff, and in the G League, play my game.” Traore signed a two-way contract with the South Bay Lakers after going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft. He’s from Créteil, France.

The Lakers selected Bronny with the 55th overall pick in the same draft in which Traore went unselected. After Bronny started out the season with the main team, head coach JJ Redick adjusted his standing to being a “fluid” member of the G-League. “Our plans are always fluid based on real time,” Redick told reporters, earlier this season, as caught by ESPN. “I believe we have two guys dressing today that as of yesterday we’re not dressing out. The plan for Bronny to move between the Lakers and South Bay has always been the plan since day one. [General manager] Rob [Pelinka] and I have talked about that. LeBron’s talked about that.”

Drake Plays Basketball With OVO Crew Amid Explosive Kendrick Lamar Album Reactions

As social media continues to erupt with posts about Kendrick Lamar’s new album, GNX, Drake is seemingly doing his best to stay out of it. The Compton rapper unleashed the project on Friday (November 22) with zero notice, expectedly leaving social media users in shambles. As reactions to the explosive drop continue to roll in, many have been clowning Drake after what’s already been an incredibly rough year.

Fortunately, it doesn’t look like he’s letting all of this get him down. In a new clip, he’s seen playing basketball with a few members of his OVO crew. They all appeared to be in good spirits amid the intense game, which seems to have taken place at Drake’s home. Obviously, there are few who know how Drake is actually feeling right now. Either way, fans and critics alike continue to speculate. This isn’t the first they’ve seen of Drake since the release of GNX, however. Yesterday, he also took to his Instagram Story to share one of his infamous mirror selfies.

Drake Keeps His Mind Off Of Online Trolling

He also looked relatively unbothered in that shot, sporting a leather jacket and his signature pout. After all, he has plenty going on in his own career to worry about, including an upcoming collaborative album with PartyNextDoor and a big stream with xQc later today. He is tuned in on some level despite this, as evidenced by a message he reportedly sent during one of Los Pollos’ recent livestreams. The streamer had been discussing Pokimane revealing that Drake’s decision to partner with gambling company Stake left her disappointed.

“When I heard Drake was involved with Stake, my heart broke, I’ma be honest,“ she admitted. “I still love his music … but, now, I don’t love him as much as a person.” In response, Drake quoted one of the most iconic lines from “Euphoria” by Kendrick Lamar. “I watched the clip what’s she mad about? Is it the braids??!?” he asked.

LeBron James Barraged With Diddy Allegations From Conservative Haters

LeBron James recently announced a social media break on Twitter after speaking out against the constant negativity in the sports media world. Well, those weren’t his direct words, but he did retweet a message from Rick Kleiman about the topic, later letting followers know that he’s temporarily heading off the grid. “And with that said I’ll holla at y’all! Getting off social media for the time being. Y’all take care,” the NBA superstar shared. This prompted a lot of responses that baselessly connected him to the Diddy scandal, and many of them curiously came from more conservative individuals. We’re unaware of other contexts that maybe caused this specific response, but it was an odd phenomenon to witness.

Of course, LeBron James probably isn’t worried about any of that stuff, as he has other pressing extracurricular matters to attend off the court. They will lead some hate his way regardless thanks to his massive status, such as a lawsuit against him and Netflix for alleged copyright infringement. Many folks blasted this alleged move and brought more clowning out of it, but such is the nature of Internet discourse.

LeBron James Is Off Social Media: See Replies For Bizarre Diddy Connections

But LeBron James being off social media means we won’t have to hear about his bizarre dreams any more, which is surely a plus for many fans out there. “Just woke up from having a dream I was playing for Duke for Coach K inside Cameron Indoor Stadium!” he tweeted the other day. “It was INSANE in there. Told Coach K it was an honor to suit up for him and he said the same thing back to me. He’s such a LEGEND! Then….. It turned right into a concert. Snoop & Dre were the performers and they was doing the song ‘The Next Episode.’ The roof inside Cameron damn near came off! Haha. Then my [alarm] went off and I woke up.” Cool story, Bron…

Meanwhile, another possible cause for this social media break is some recent teasing around how much LeBron James spends on his body. But we have no idea why conservatives in particular would barrage him with this Diddy narrative over this social media break. We get that they’re peeved about the Kamala Harris endorsement, but still…

LeBron James’ Quiting Social Media After Sharing Post About “Negativity” Leaves Fans Blaming Bronny

LeBron James announced that he’s quitting social media for the “time being” in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday afternoon. He had just shared a post from Rich Kleiman, in which the entrepreneur complained about negatively in the sports world while praising the rare sincerity of JJ Reddick and LeBron James’ short-lived Mind the Game podcast.

“With so much hate and negativity in the world today, it confuses me why some of National sports media still think that the best way to cover sports is through negative takes,” Kleiman wrote. “We can all acknowledge that sports is the last part of society that universally brings people together. So why can’t the coverage do the same? It’s only click bait when you say it. When the platform is so big, you can make the change and allow us all an escape from real life negativity. I for one find it all a waste of breath. The Olympics and JJ and Bron’s show was the future of what this can and should all be.” After reposting the statement, James wrote: “And with that said I’ll holla at y’all! Getting off social media for the time being. Y’all take care.”

Fans quickly brought up the nepotism accusations LeBron’s son, Bronny, has faced online. One user in the replies joked: “The only reason you’re even on the Lakers is because of your son. You’re a complete nepotism signing. You weren’t even good enough to make a college basketball roster.” While more brought up the constant criticism of Bronny, others cited the NBA’s recent dip in ratings and more possible reasons for LeBron to want to log off.

Cam’ron Takes The Blame After LaMello Ball’s Homophobic Joke

Cam’ron says he’s taking the blame for LaMello Ball getting hit with a $100,000 fine after making a homophobic remark during a recent postgame interview. While discussing his team’s defensive performance against the Milwaukee Bucks, Ball remarked: “Yeah, we loaded up — no homo — but that’s what we wanted.” Cam discussed the situation with Mase on their sports talk show, It Is What It Is, on Tuesday.

“I blame myself, I really do, man,” he said. “I blame the east side of Harlem. You got this in Jefferson Projects probably in 1996 when we were saying this. And before that — what the fuck? God damn, we did this a long time. To be honest with you, this is why we started saying ‘pause.’ We used to say what Melo said, but we were like, ‘The people are sensitive, you get fined.’ And that’s why we don’t say it anymore.”

From there, Mase joined in to agree with Cam. “Just for that? My goodness […] I mean, people gotta be responsible for their words but I think if you know these guys are playing, it should be taken a little bit lighter. It’s not like he said it towards anybody living a certain way. He was just joking,” he said.

Ball has already apologized for the comment. “Before we get started, I just want to address the comment yesterday. I really didn’t mean anything [by it] and don’t want to offend anybody. I’ve got love for everybody, and I don’t discriminate,” he told reporters during a postgame interview after the Hornets’ loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday.
