Nicki Minaj Angers Lil Kim Fans With Comments About Having The First Fan Army

Even though Nicki Minaj has other femcee beefs to handle these days, the conflict with Lil Kim continues to be one of her most well-known and debated. Moreover, she inadvertently contributed to another point of contention on Wednesday (October 16) during a conversation at Vogue‘s Forces of Fashion event in New York City. The specific claims that Kim fans are mad about is how the Trinidadian femcee claimed that there were no rappers naming their fanbases before Nicki cultivated, supported, and championed the Barbz, citing Justin Bieber’s Beliebers and Lady Gaga’s Little Monsters as her predecessors in this regard in other genres.

“Before l had a record deal, my fans were making a moment for themselves on Twitter,” Nicki Minaj expressed. “I had already given them a name. In fact, do you know that all these artists that give their fans names now, when I started calling my fans the Barbz, there were no rappers naming their fans. […] That was it. Now every single human being that becomes an artist gives their fans a name. Even artists in other countries. I didn’t think it was something that would spread to the hip-hop community at all. But it doesn’t matter, because the Barbz are still superior.”

Nicki Minaj Addresses Fanbase Culture

As for Lil Kim fans, they called Nicki Minaj out because they feel like Kim deserves that credit. “Rappers better run and hide, ’cause here comes the Beehive,” the Brooklyn femcee rapped on “The Beehive” off of her 2003 album La Bella Mafia. “Maturing is realizing Nicki Minaj’s number one goal is to take credit for EVERYTHING Lil’ Kim contributed to the game,” one fan retorted. “KIM WAS THE FIRST RAPPER to name their fan base (BEEHIVE) in early 2000s (That’s 20+ years ago!)  sorry nicki the fan base names existed BEFORE the internet.” This criticism also extended to include other femcees like Foxy Brown. Check out more reactions down below.

Fans & Lil Kim Defenders React

Meanwhile, some other alleged Nicki Minaj shade came in the form of her apparent reaction to the drama between her ex Safaree and his ex wife Erica Mena. That’s just a theory, though, so take it with a grain of salt. Either way, this Lil Kim debate has solid points on both sides, although we doubt they will reconcile.

Latto Labeling Lil’ Kim The G.O.A.T. Of Female MCs Has Nicki Minaj Fans In An Uproar

If you don’t plan on giving Nicki Minaj credit for what she’s done for the hip-hop world, then prepare for the backlash. The Barbz are striking back once again after Latto’s recent claim that Lil’ Kim is indeed the G.O.A.T. of female rappers. In a recent chat with her sister on Complex, she was doing a Q&A following the release of her new studio LP, Sugar Honey Iced Tea. One of the question cards read, “Who is the GOAT female rapper?”, and before really answering the question she dubbed herself the best ever.

“Big Mama”, she replied. Her sister also agreed “not even being biased”. After moving past the self-confidence, Latto decided to give Lil’ Kim her flowers. She cites her timeless music and fashion as the main reasons. Additionally, perhaps in a subliminal manner, Latto thinks she’s the best due to her being such “a queen”.

As we said, Nicki Minaj fans are always going to defend their queen, and they are definitely letting Latto hear it. They are not feeling her answer, mostly because its coming across as fake. The Atlanta MC is one of the many ladies not on good terms with the Trinidadian superstar, so they feel she’s saying someone else on purpose. “I know Kim tired of these rap girlies showing her love AFTER their fallout with Nicki😩🥴😭 if you miss being a barb just say that🤭”, one user expresses. “Mind u latto never once say lil Kim when she was coming into the industry it was always Nicki Nicki Nicki!!!”, another adds.

What are your thoughts on Latto claiming that Lil’ Kim is the greatest female rapper of all time? Do you think she’s just saying this because of the disconnect between her and Nicki Minaj? Who would you say is the best femcee of all time and why? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Angel Reese Is Nicki Minaj Fans’ Latest Target After Supposedly ‘Disrespecting’ Her On TikTok

Angel Reese has become hip-hop’s favorite basketball player over the past few months, drawing Latto to sit courtside at one of her games and appearing onstage with Megan Thee Stallion during her Chicago tour stop.

But fans of one rapper have seemingly turned on the record-breaking WNBA star after she supposedly “disrespected” Nicki Minaj in a video on TikTok. The Barbz are now attempting to undercut the All-Star, digging up more examples of perceived anti-Minaj sentiment. So, what’s got the notoriously prickly fanbase riled this time?

In the TikTok video, Reese and some friends are seen lounging in the entrance hall of a mansion listening to the remix of Sexyy Red’s breakout single “Pound Town.” Reese appears for a few seconds to lip-sync to the lyrics and lightly twerk, but slides out of the frame as Minaj’s verse starts. This was, in the view of some Barbz, a sign that Reese does not mess with the Queens rapper, and the green light to dig up as much dirt as they could find.

It didn’t take long for them to find a video of Reese answering an interview question about who she’d want to perform if she hosted SNL in which she names Cardi B, GloRilla, Latto, and Megan Thee Stallion. The Barbz noted that she did NOT say Nicki Minaj — because nobody is allowed to have their own opinions, I guess — and that everybody she DID name has been targeted by Minaj (conveniently ignoring the common denominator here).

Of course, cooler heads have pointed out how much Barbz appear to be overreacting.

Latto Performs Remix Of “Sunday Service” With Megan Thee Stallion At Atlanta Show, Nicki Minaj’s Barbz Swoop In To Trash It

Megan Thee Stallion has been having a dominant 2024 so far and it is far from over. The Texas rapper is currently in the midst of her wildly successful Hot Girl Summer Tour, which kicked off a few weeks ago. Additionally, she just announced the release date and cover art for her third album Megan. The hyped project will drop on June 28 and is led by the explosive singles “Cobra”, “HISS”, and “BOA”. Speaking of “HISS”, that is another reason why is at her peak right now. Many declared that Nicki Minaj diss track as the better song that her rival’s, “Big Foot”. Now, Megan Thee Stallion and Latto are teaming up for a remix of the latter’s “Sunday Service”.

Fun fact, this is now the second new song and remix to be previewed during her worldwide trek. Not too long ago, GloRilla and Cardi B joined Meg onstage for a new version of “Wanna Be”, which is out now. That track saw the Bronx native take some shots at BIA in what has now led to a heated back and forth. “Sunday Service” is similar in that it contains some disses for female contemporaries, with the biggest targets being Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice. With Latto getting Megan for this remix, there is a good chance we could see some blows being traded.

But before Nicki could potentially hop in the booth, her staunchest supporters, the Barbz, are coming in to give their two cents. As expected, they are tearing it apart online, especially under The Neighborhood Talk‘s post on IG. “Notice how they never link up until they get into it with Nicki Minaj😂😂”, one user points out. “Nicki opps linking up for a flop song🦄”, another chimes in. One hater goes a step further, saying, “Awwwwww look at Nicki sons”. Have your popcorn at the ready, we could be in for another entertaining event.

What are your thoughts on this “Sunday Service” remix with Latto and Megan Thee Stallion? Do you think that there will be some shots from Megan to Nicki Minaj? What are your thoughts on the Barbz coming to defend her in the comments? Do you think this new version will be better than the original? Nicki Minaj’s Barbz Finally, Inevitably Turned On Ice Spice For Allegedly Recording With Kanye West

Before “Barbie World” became as inescapable as every other aspect of the Margot Robbie-starring film, music fans were wary of Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj’s newfound friendship. After all, Nicki and Megan Thee Stallion appeared to be fast friends during the “Hot Girl Summer” of 2019, and we all see how that ended up.

So, it comes as no surprise that Minaj’s most enthusiastic fans, the Barbz, have taken it upon themselves to call out Ice Spice for perceived disloyalty over allegedly recording a verse for Kanye West. Earlier this week, influencer YesJulz shared a screenshot of a text thread between herself and West — presumably from before she was “fired” from YZY for supposed breaches of contract — in which Julz claims she sent the beat for Kanye’s song “New Body” to both Doja Cat and Ice Spice to see “who sounds best.” Only a day later, Kanye reported via his Instagram Story that the “Munch” rapper had indeed sent verse, but lamented that “her team is saying we can’t use it.”

Members of Minaj’s fanbase — and even her entourage — sent shade at Ice Spice for even sending the verse in the first place, as Nicki had previously refused to clear her verse on the track for the first installment of Kanye’s Vultures project. The Song, which Nicki and Kanye originally recorded in 2019 for placement on his since-canceled project Yandhi, had seen multiple revisions, leaks, and other issues, which spurred Nicki to deem it “past its time” and refuse permission to use it — something West took very personally, calling her out in a listening party rant that seemingly put paid to any friendly feelings the two artists have shared. It’s also telling that he went to two ostensible Minaj proteges in Doja and Ice, perhaps hoping to get under her skin. Or, at least, that’s how many Barbz seem to perceive it, as seen in the representative examples below:

There’s a lot to be said here, but I think this sums it up best:

Nicki Minaj’s Barbz Tell Ice Spice To Tread Lightly After Discovering She Submitted A Verse For Kanye West’s “New Body”

As most Kanye West fans know, he has been working tirelessly to get out some version of “New Body” for a few years now. However, his attempts have been futile. Nicki Minaj was the original feature alongside Ty Dolla $ign. But last December, the Trinidadian superstar declined to clear her verse. The reasoning behind her decision was that too much time had passed. It led to a passionate response from Ye as he mentioned how supportive he has been throughout her career. However, more life was breathed back into “New Body” after some leaked texts from YesJulz revealed that the track was sent to Ice Spice and Doja Cat.

Unfortunately, the hype was short lived as Ice Spice’s team said that they would not clear her verse either. That led to Kanye again venting his frustrations via Instagram story. “ICE SPICE SENT A VERSE IN FOR NEW BODY NOW HER TEAM SAYING WE CAN’T USE IT.” When Ye went on that rant about Nicki, there must have been some animosity from the Barbz fanbase. We say that because Minaj’s fans feel that Ice Spice went behind her back by submitting a verse for “New Body.”

The Barbz are notoriously known for being a little too over the top when it comes to defending Nicki. This is definitely another case of crazies. For example, one fan tweeted, “I hate [that] Ice Spice has shown her hand. Going against the Queen will be the demise of her career. You don’t get in the game and make a move like that. It’s not about “being scared.” it’s about being loyal to ones that are loyal to you. This is why Nicki is the way she is.” One person did play devil’s advocate, “What if Ice called Nicki and talked about this when she received the request and Nicki gave her blessing 🤷🏾‍♂️

What are your thoughts on Nicki Minaj’s fans attacking Ice Spice for recording a verse for Kanye West’s “New Body?” Do you think the Barbz are the most ruthless fan base out of any artist? Are they right that Ice Spice betrayed Nicki? How do you think “New Body” will come out? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Fans Brawl At Nicki Minaj Rolling Loud Set, Rumors That It Involved Bardi Gang Emerge

The Rolling Loud set of Nicki Minaj was derailed slightly as several brawls broke out amongst the audience. Several videos of the various fights quickly spread on social media. However, this was then quickly conflated with an unsubstantiated report that the fight was a result of Barbz jumping Cardi B fans, known colloquially as the Bardigang. Despite this, there are no reports to confirm that this actually the case.

Nicki was performing at Rolling Loud as part of her Pink Friday 2 tour. The tour runs until July 14, when Minaj will close out with a performance at the Les Ardentes Festival in Belgium. This includes Minaj headlining Wireless Fest in London, a performance she is very excited about. “Instead of doing another arena show in London after we sold out in the first week, I opted to do Wireless Festival. This year’s show will be a billion times more special, creative, beautiful, cohesive, ugh! I’m so excited. I’d like to tell you guys thank you in advance. Last year was so meaningful but won’t compare. Just wait & see,” Minaj wrote on Instagram.

Nicki Minaj Laughs Off Allegations She’s Broke

Meanwhile, Minaj has dismissed any notion that she’s struggling financially. “Imagine being this dumb 😩😂. They SOOOOOO mad that they had to eat ALL their words about this tour. 🤪 They tried EVERYTHING to prevent this magic & even blatantly lied everywhere hoping it would deter ppl from coming. If y’all only knew. Bwahahahahahaaa,” Minaj wrote on X. The rapper was responding to resurgent claims that her Pink Friday 2 tour was not profitable and was only being done to cover her debts.

However, randos on social media are not the only people who have had to eat crow over the tour. DJ Akademiks’ plan to prove Minaj was “washed” backfired when the controversial social media creator discovered live on stream that the rapper’s Pink Friday 2 tour was genuinely sold out. Akademiks, a longtime critic of Minaj, had jumped online to “prove” that the claims of Minaj’s tour sales were overblown. However, try as he might, he was unable to any of her tour dates that had more than a few tickets still available. Minaj continues her tour tonight (March 10) with a show in Seattle.

Barbz Are Already Demanding A “Pink Friday 2” Tour Film

Nicki Minaj is just three shows into her Pink Friday 2 Tour and already the Barbz are demanding a “cinematic experience” like Taylor Swift and Beyonce produced last year. “I hope there will be movie experience of this tour! 😍 visuals are top tier and @NICKIMINAJ looks amazing 💖,” one popular fan account on X wrote. As mentioned, Minaj has only hit up Oakland, Denver, and Las Vegas so far on the 57-stop tour. Her next concert is on Sunday in Seattle. The tour runs until July 14, when Minaj will close out with a performance at the Les Ardentes Festival in Belgium.

Furthermore, the tour includes Minaj headlining Wireless Fest in London, a performance she is very excited about. “Instead of doing another arena show in London after we sold out in the first week, I opted to do Wireless Festival. Nicki Minaj Fans Chant “F*ck Latto” At Opening Show Of Pink Friday 2 Tour

However, the Barbz are already garnering something of a rowdy tour reputation. Several audience members were heard chanting “F-ck Latto” at the tour’s opening show in Oakland. The animosity towards Latto likely stems from her beef with Ice Spice, who is considered a Minaj “ally” after several collabs between the two. Furthermore, Latto is considered a Cardi B “ally” after the pair collaborated on “Put It On Da Floor Again” last year.

Latto and Spice have been trading blows for the last few weeks. Spice released the diss track “Think You The Sh-t (Fart)” before going after Latto for using her music video footage in a TikTok. Meanwhile, Latto hit back with “Sunday Service” and also referred to Spice as a “little girl” in a clapback post on social media.

Nicki Minaj Hypes Wireless Fest Set, Explains Why She Chose It Over Another Pink Friday Tour Stop In London

Meanwhile, Minaj recently spoke on why she chose to headline Wireless Fest instead of adding another tour stop in London. “Instead of doing another arena show in London after we sold out in the first week, I opted to do Wireless Festival. This year’s show will be a billion times more special, creative, beautiful, cohesive, ugh! I’m so excited. I’d like to tell you guys thank you in advance. Wireless Fest takes place in London’s historic Finsbury Park this July. Other headliners include Future, 21 Savage, and Doja Cat. Minaj is currently set to play at the O2 Arena in London on May 28. Barring any surprise additions or rescheduled shows, Wireless Fest will serve as the final tour stop for Minaj. Are you attending the Pink Friday 2 tour? Are you excited? Nicki Minaj’s Barbz React To Megan Thee Stallion’s Planned Parenthood Honor

Megan Thee Stallion has done a lot in terms of advocacy, both as a businesswoman making moves and as an artist just expressing herself. Moreover, Planned Parenthood of Greater New York recently announced that they would give her the organization’s honor as an entrepreneur and social influence in the entertainment world. It’s unclear in which form the nonprofit will manifest this honor; a plaque, a ceremony, or something else? Regardless, Nike’s newest collaborator receives the praise for being an “extraordinary advocate” through her “music and performances [which] have shined a light on women’s empowerment, mental health and social justice.”

“An outspoken advocate for women’s rights and Planned Parenthood, Megan has used her global platform to draw attention to the organization’s mission and work,” Planned Parenthood’s statement continued. “She also launched The Pete and Thomas Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on uplifting and assisting women, children, senior citizens, and underserved communities in Houston, Texas and across the world.” However, Nicki Minaj fans took significant issue with this given their beef. For those unaware, the Barbz are under the impression that Megan Thee Stallion tried to pressure the Pink Friday 2 MC into getting an abortion.

Nicki Minaj’s Barbz Target Megan Thee Stallion’s Planned Parenthood Honor: See Comments

“Imagine telling someone you didn’t want a drink…” Nicki Minaj said of the matter back in 2022 on Queen Radio, although she didn’t specifically name (or subliminally allude to) any specific person. “You know, because you were, at the time, possibly pregnant. Because you were actively trying to have a baby. Imagine that person saying, ‘Oh girl, you can go to the clinic!

“Imagine posting photos that you’re pregnant… and the person doesn’t even like it or say congratulations,” she continued. “But then, when you post that Beyoncé sent you flowers congratulating you, the person then tries to attempt to send you flowers thinking that, ‘Oh, I could use this opportunity as I use everyone else. She’ll post that I sent her flowers.’ I didn’t even let them s**ts in my motherf***ing house.” Meg denied claims that she was Nicki’s target, who had an abortion at age 16. Still, their since-escalated feud led Minaj and her fanbase to hold this allegation against her once more.
