Donald Glover On Artificial Intelligence Being Used For Societal Good

Actor and writer Donald Glover is not completely against the use of artificial intelligence (AI). In a recent interview with Complex, Glover shared his perspective on the subject. His viewpoint on AI is one of cautious optimism. When asked about how he feels about the rise of artificial intelligence, especially in entertainment and art, Glover responded with a thoughtful answer. “I think there’s a good reason to be cautious,” he said. “But at the same time, the scary stuff sells and people aren’t focusing on how AI can actually help us solve these problems that we have. I get it. It is scary on some level.”

He continued by acknowledging that although it can be scary to embrace, the use of AI can actually be beneficial. “But I’m like, you could band together and do something really cool with it,” he continued. “Like, something really new. And you can do all that stuff faster. You know, AI’s not gonna take your job, the person who’s really good at AI is gonna take your job. All these things come with cautionary stuff and I think there should be legislation, although I doubt that will happen. Usually it’s in reaction and I think what’s scary to people is that we’re heading toward the precipice of an existential crisis, where we only get one chance to do it the right way. I think that’s what people are afraid of.”

Donald Glover Believes Technology Can Address Societal Problems

Glover encourages a more positive perspective, urging people to unite and leverage AI’s capabilities for creative and transformative endeavors. He firmly asserts that AI is not a force set to replace human jobs, but rather, individuals proficient in AI will be the ones shaping the future employment landscape. “But before that happens, there’s a lot of stuff where it’s like, ‘Well, how about we just aim it toward things that we actually want,’ as opposed to things that we don’t need and things that just seem like a fun idea,” he said.

Moreover, Glover offers a refreshing perspective by proposing a different approach to embracing AI. He thinks people should focus AI efforts on meaningful and constructive endeavors that align with societal needs. Throughout the interview, he emphasizes the importance of steering AI toward positive and beneficial applications. His underlying belief is that, as AI evolves and becomes more integrated into our lives, humanity will collectively navigate the challenges and ultimately find ways to harness its potential for the greater good. “But I actually am a big proponent of, like… People are gonna be using this stuff, and people should be using this stuff, and it’s gonna figure itself out,” he said. “I honestly have faith in humanity more than I think most people do.”

MrBeast Warns Fans About A.I. Deepfakes: “This Is A Serious Problem”

Recently, MrBeast took to social media to warn fans of the dangers surrounding deepfakes generated using artificial intelligence. The internet personality shared a clip of an advertisement he claims his supporters have been seeing as of late, which features a deepfake of him promoting what appears to be a scam. The deepfake of him encourages his fans to click a link in order to claim an iPhone for only $2, claiming that he’s doing “the world’s largest iPhone 15 giveaway.”

Apparently, the account that posted the video is also verified on TikTok, making it all the more possible for supporters to be tricked. “Lots of people are getting this deepfake scam ad of me,” MrBeast captioned the clip. “Are social media platforms ready to handle the rise of AI deepfakes? This is a serious problem.” To most people, it’s probably obvious that the video is A.I. generated. With that being said, a large portion of his following is made up of children, who are far more likely to be lured in by the thought of getting an unbelievably cheap gadget.

MrBeast Brings Attention To A.I. Deepfake Scams

MrBeast is also known for blessing strangers with out-of-pocket gifts, which could make the deepfake’s claims more convincing. Previously, he’s given out luxury cars, bags full of money, and much more. Clearly, the fact that artificial intelligence allows people to create videos of anybody doing anything they want is pretty scary. It seems as though the general consensus is that this particular one of MrBeast is easy to spot. Despite this, it remains important for internet users not to believe everything they see, particularly if their favorite YouTuber is promising them a free or shockingly cheap device.

What do you think of MrBeast warning people about the dangers of A.I. deepfakes? Do you find this A.I. deepfake of MrBeast to be convincing, or did you know it was fake right away? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more news.

Snoop Dogg To Have His Own A.I. Chatbot

Recently, Meta announced their plans to roll out some new A.I. chatbots on Instagram and Facebook. The A.I. chatbots embody the personas of various celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Tom Brady, MrBeast, and more. Snoop Dogg will even have his own A.I. chatbot, allowing fans to strike up a conversation with the Doggfather himself.

Mark Zuckerberg unveiled the new technology at Meta Connect 2023 earlier this week, giving fans a look at the upcoming feature and revealing the list of celebrities who will have bots. He explained that he wanted each bot to have a distinct personality, and provided descriptions of each one’s persona. Snoop Dogg is listed as “Dungeon Master,” and prompts users to “choose [their] own adventure” with him. “This isn’t just gonna be about answering queries,” Zuckerberg described. “This is about entertainment and about helping you do things to connect with the people around you.”

Zuckerberg says that for now, the A.I. chatbots will simply share their responses to users via text. A voice feature for each bot, however, is expected to arrive sometime at the beginning of next year. It’s no surprise that the cultural icon will soon have his own A.I. chatbot, and fans are sure to have fun with it.

This isn’t the first time the worlds of Snoop Dogg and A.I. have collided. Back in May, Snoop attended the 2023 Milken Institute Global Conference, where he spoke about his own experience chatting with an A.I. model. He said that he was blown away by the technology, also comparing it to something he’d see in movies as a kid. “Like, me and this n***a can hold a real conversation,” he told the audience. “Like for real for real. It’s blowing my mind because I watched movies on this as a kid years ago when I used to see this s**t. I’m like, ‘What is going on?‘” What do you think of Meta launching a Snoop Dogg AI chatbot? Will you be chatting with it? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Snoop Dogg.

Drake & The Weeknd’s AI Song No Longer Grammy Eligible

Drake has long made it known that he’s not exactly a fan of the Grammy Awards. He didn’t speak out on social media after the organization’s latest decision. Still, we wouldn’t be surprised if the 36-year-old had an averse reaction to finding out that an AI-generated song by him and fellow Canadian The Weeknd was deemed eligible to be nominated at the annual event. Many music lovers made it clear that they weren’t on board with this update. Late on Thursday (September 7), Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. shared a video providing some clarity to the community.

“Let me be extra clear. Even though it was written by a human creator, the vocals were not legally obtained. The vocals were not cleared by the label or the artist, and the song is not commercially available,” his message noted. “And because of that, it’s not eligible,” the industry executive added afterward. Due to the rapidly changing nature of the times we live in, Mason Jr. did state that things could shift in the future regarding AI-eligibility.

Drake and The Weeknd’s AI-Generated “Heart On My Sleeve” Won’t Bring Home Any Grammys

“I take this stuff very seriously. It’s all complicated and it’s moving really quickly. I’m sure things are going to continue to have to evolve and change. But please, do not be confused. The Academy is here to support and advocate and protect and represent human artists and human creators. Period,” the CEO assured his followers, who have been reacting positively to the news so far.

Now that we finally have a release date for Drake’s For All The Dogs album, the father of one has begun hinting at who we’ll hear featured on the project. A reunion with Nicki Minaj has already been officially confirmed, and according to his latest Instagram post, we may hear from Central Cee too. The Viral Drake And The Weeknd AI Song Was Submitted To The Grammys And It’s ‘Absolutely Eligible,’ The Recording Academy Explained

Back in April, Universal Music Group issued a takedown notice after an AI-generated song imitating Drake and The Weeknd went viral on YouTube, but that somehow isn’t stopping the song from being considered for a Grammy Award. The song’s creator, an anonymous internet denizen going by “Ghostwriter,” has submitted the song to the Recording Academy, and it sounds like it’ll be taken seriously despite its dubious provenance.

The song, “Heart On My Sleeve,” used approximations of the two performers to sing a mopey breakup ballad supposedly about Selena Gomez (who was previously romantically involved with The Weeknd). It also generated plenty of criticism online from detractors who believed that its popularity undermined the creativity and individuality of the artists invoked. As one Twitter user put it, “The first immediate thing that stands out is that so much of this AI music is going after rap/hip hop and that’s how you can tell the people behind it have contempt for it.”

Apparently, that contempt extends to the Recording Academy (because of course it does). The Academy CEO, Harvey Mason, Jr., told The New York Times, “As far as the creative side, it’s absolutely eligible because it was written by a human.” I’m not so sure that’s the case (one generative AI “writes” Drake songs based on prompts provided by users after scraping existing Drake songs for cues), but Drake himself generally seems to frown on the illegal use of his likeness (or, in this case, his voice) for AI-generated songs, so that would be enough for me to disqualify this thing from contention — but I’m not an Academy member (yet) so, what do I know?

The Academy announced that AI-generated songs would be eligible in June, provided the songs were actually written by people, but despite later clarifications, it’s unclear how exactly the Academy intends to verify authorship.

AI Donald Trump Parody Of “Gold Digger” Is The Latest MAGA Obsession

An AI parody of Kanye West’s “Gold Digger” sung by Donald Trump has been released online and is quickly becoming the biggest thing for the MAGA crowd since “Let’s Go Brandon”. The song, dubbed “Vote Rigger”, takes aim at Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Willis was recently behind the indictment of Trump and 18 others on charges relating to election interference in the state of Georgia. It opens with the line “Now I ain’t saying she a vote rigger/But Fatty only make my lead bigger”. However, like many of the trends that are latched onto by the far-right, it’s just so bad. It’s genuinely terrible. The song also repeats the claim Trump recently made that Willis was engaged in a sexual relationship with her former client, YSL Mondo.

But of course, the MAGA faithful love it. Roger Stone, convicted felon and long-time Trump ally, reshared it on Twitter and remarked it was “perhaps the funniest thing I have ever seen.” We guess Stone hasn’t seen many funny things because this is just genuinely terrible. The lyrics are awful, the AI Trump voice is flat and disinterested. It’s just not good. However, as mentioned, the MAGA hoards think it’s literally the greatest thing ever.

Trump Defiant Amid Downfall

Only Donald Trump could remain this arrogant and sure of himself as the world collapses around him. In short, things are not going well for Donald Trump. He has now been indicted on more than 90 felonies, including 12 from the Georgia indictment alone. That includes everything from making false statements to straight-up RICO charges. His campaign is rapidly running out of money as he pays his legal fees out of his war chest. Campaign finance experts believe that Trump could literally be out of money by the end of the year.

The problem? No one on the Republican side of the aisle can stop him. What the GOP doesn’t seem to realize is that there are now two parties on the right side of the center. There is the Republican party and then there is Donald Trump. His audience isn’t interested in anyone else. Meanwhile, the other candidates attempting to run against Trump are simply trying to do their best Trump impression. In short, that means saying the most batshit things they can think of in hopes that it will siphon voters away from Trump. Meanwhile, Trump will have to continue his campaign while also factoring in court appearances and other legal issues. But for the moment, the MAGA faithful will revel in their favorite new thing – an objectively terrible AI parody.

Coi Leray Expertly Rejects Fan Using ChatGPT To Flirt With Her

The DMs of an everyday hot girl can get chaotic enough, so we can’t imagine what the message requests folders of our favourite rap divas look like. Every so often we’re lucky enough to get a glimpse into the antics that play out on platforms like Instagram, though it’s rare to actually get a response from celebrities. As Uproxx reports, a Coi Leray lover who decided to shoot his shot with the “Blick Blick” hitmaker was lucky enough to catch her attention, though he failed to meet his objective of securing a date with her.

“Give me one date and it will be the best night you’ve ever had,” the streamer wrote to Leray in a screen recording later shared on TikTok. Much to his shock, she replied, “What’s the date?” It’s clear he wasn’t anticipating hearing back from the Boston native, as the OP quickly turned to everyone’s current piece of AI technology – ChatGPT – to give him some suggestions.

Coi Leray Continues to Curve Men in Her DMs

His pick, “Take a boat ride and watch the sunset” certainly sounds simple and romantic. However, it clearly wasn’t enough to satisfy Leray’s luxurious tastes. “Take a boat ride out of my DMs,” she cleverly rejected the man, leaving those who have seen his video of the interaction laughing. Interestingly, it was only a few weeks ago when Power actor Gianni Paolo revealed to TMZ that the fashionista was also impressed with his attempts to flirt with her, ultimately leaving him on read.

It wasn’t so long ago that Coi Leray unleashed her self-titled sophomore album on the world. Unfortunately, her first-week sales numbers weren’t as high as anticipated, but still, the young star got plenty of support from fellow artists and fans on her latest work. She obviously isn’t letting the critics get her down, as she announced earlier this week that she’ll be dropping a six-track EP in the very near future. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

2Pac & DMX’s AI-Inspired Track Is Fan Approved

Artificial intelligence’s growing presence in music has often divided fans. However, a new track that features a posthumous link-up between 2Pac and DMX has been well-received by fans. The snippet has sent fans into a frenzy online. Posted by Youtuber dopfunk, the track entitled “Facing Death” finds the two legends recalling their own demise.

I’m gone, but I will never be forgotten/ Was talkin’ about death ’cause I knew n*ggas was plotting,” the AI 2Pac raps. “So I came back, only to haunt these n*ggas/ Snakes will slither/ It don’t matter who pulled the trigger!” Following that, DMX’s AI-generated verse takes on a disturbingly similar haunting tone: “And in due time, you’ll find out for yourself who you be. Ain’t no riches that will help you in hell when you meet/ Your maker/ He’ll break you down and analyze what you did in your life/ N*gga, everybody has to die.”

Some Are Still Skeptical About AI’s Growing Use in Music

The comment section was flooded with comments about the track’s authenticity, and one person even said that it “resurrected the essence of these great artists.” Some even proposed that the Youtuber should make more music. Another fan wrote, “They live on through your art man, Dopfunk keep this coming a full album would be intoxicating. This gave me chills and reminded me what real hip hop is again, thank you for what you do. 2Pac and DMX are immortal, hataz can never kill a legend!!”

But not everyone is on board with AI technology being used in music. Earlier this year, Drake and The Weeknd’s voices were used on the AI-inspired track “heart on my sleeve.” In response, Universal Music Group, where both artists are currently signed, issued a statement. In the letter, the company asked its stakeholders about “which side of history” they want to be on. Whether it’s on “the side of artists, fans and human creative expression, or on the side of deep fakes, fraud and denying artists their due compensation.”

Lil Wayne Has “No Worries” About Artificial Intelligence: ‘It’s Not Me, I’m Amazing’

H.E.R., Lil Wayne, The Isley Brothers Are Set To Headline 2021 One Music Festival

With artificial intelligence taking over Hip-Hop, Lil Wayne has “No Worries.” In a recent conversation with Billboard, Lil Wayne doesn’t think AI will hurt his music.

“Someone asked me about that recently. And they were trying to tell me that AI could make a voice that sounds just like me,” Wayne said. “But it’s not me, because I’m amazing. This AI thing going to be amazing too? Because I am naturally, organically amazing. I’m one of a kind. So actually, I would love to see that thing try to duplicate this motherfucker.”

Lupe Fiasco And Google Encourage Rappers To Incorporate AI Into Their Music With TextFX, A New Tool

In addition to being a rapper and producer, Lupe Fiasco is also a teacher. Last year, he taught a rap course at MIT and broke down lyrics by iconic hip-hop artists. Now, he’s joined the discussion about how AI will play a role in the genre.

The “Superstar” performer has teamed up with Google for an AI tool called TextFX that aids “the writing process of creating raps.” In a Google Lab Sessions video, Fiasco explains, “Rap is born out of technology. Rap wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for these technological advancements.” He lists examples, such as a DJ’s turntable, microphones, recording studios, Auto-Tune, and more. “What’s next?” he says. “Artificial Intelligence, large language models — rap’s optimal for it.”

A Creative Technologist at Google named Aaron Wade steps in and explains the tool, which actually is a large language model. “Initially, we thought that maybe Lupe would want an AI system to write lyrics for him, verses, and raps,” he said. “But it turns out that he didn’t want that at all. What he wanted was a tool that helped him explore the universe of possibilities that can arise from any given word, or phrase, or concept.”
