Sean Kingston’s Mother Is Out Of Jail After Shocking Arrest For Fraud

Sean Kingston’s family was in for a big shock last week, as he and his mother were both arrested on accusations of fraud and theft. Whereas authorities caught the singer at a concert in California, where he remains awaiting his extradition hearing for Florida, they brought Janice Turner into custody during Thursday’s (May 23) raid on his Florida home. According to court records, she faces eight charges including organizing a scheme of defraudation, grand theft, and identity theft. The 61-year-old attended her bail hearing on Friday (May 24) and later provided the $160,000 bail that led to her Sunday afternoon (May 26) release from the Broward County jail, according to TMZ.

Furthermore, police also arrested Sean Kingston that Thursday while he was in Fort Irwin, California for a performance at a military event. It’s a little unclear whether he’s been in jail this whole time or if he already had his extradition hearing and is just waiting for the next steps. Either way, it looks like they both have a lot of legal issues to deal with for the rest of 2024. It would also add onto their previous history, as Janice Turner already has a 2005 conviction for bank fraud.

Meanwhile, as for the raid on Sean Kingston’s Florida home, TMZ reportedly obtained some photos from inside the property (which you can check out with the “Via” link down below) that detail some of what went down. Apparently, the cops got some valuable merchandise and property out of the house, including a massive LED television set valued at $150,000. This could relate to how authorities want the Kingstons to repay for their alleged crimes. The claims are that they stole almost $500,000 in jewelry, over $200,000 from Bank Of America, $160,000 from a car dealer, $100,000 from First Republic Bank, and $86,000 for a custom bed.

As such, this totals over $1 million in allegedly stolen goods, services, or fraudulent transactions, which is a pretty steep amount to answer for. This hasn’t resulted in much sympathy from the entertainment world, as The Game recently clowned Turner’s mugshot. However, there’s a chance that this could all turn around for Sean Kingston, so we’ll have to see what other updates emerge. Stressing out about prison is one thing, but dealing with your mother’s place in it must be another feeling entirely that is now moot.

Nicki Minaj Fans Celebrate Her Freedom With Chants Outside Her Hotel Room Following Arrest

Fans of Nicki Minaj came out in droves to support the rapper in Manchester outside of her hotel after she was arrested in Amsterdam over the weekend. Earlier in the day, she announced the cancelation of her show at the city’s Co-Op Live due to the airport hold-up. Apologizing to her fans on social media, she revealed the location of where she was staying and asked them to stop by.

“I love you and I’m so sorry this happened tonight,” Minaj said in a video posted on social media. In another post on X (formerly Twitter), she added: “I’m going on the balcony so if you’re outside I’ll be able to see you & I may come downstairs. I’ll be out there for about an hour. Rlly (really) wanted to at least get to see you.”

Minaj made headlines for live streaming the arrest on Instagram, showing officers accusing her of carrying drugs. “They’ve been trying to stop me from coming to every show,” she wrote on X afterward. “They took my bags before I could see them. Put it on the plane. Now saying they’re waiting on customs. This is what it looks like when ppl are paid big money to try to sabotage a tour after all else failed. Everything they’ve done is illegal.” She was eventually released after a several-hour delay that caused her to cancel that night’s concert.

Island Boys’ Kodiyakredd Insists He Was Taken To Jail For “No Reason”

Over the weekend, it was reported that Island Boys member Franky Venegas, who also goes by Kodiyakredd, was arrested in Fort Lauderdale Friday night for various driving-related offenses. He’s accused of reckless driving, false ID, and operating a vehicle without a valid license. His twin brother and the other half of the musical duo, Flyysoulja, was quick to show him support on social media. “Free him. Flysoulja x kodiyakredd real brother got you,” he wrote on TikTok.

It appears as though the 22-year-old has since been released from police custody after getting booked into the Broward County Jail. In a new clip obtained by Daily Mail, he’s seemingly back at home as he provides fans with an update. According to him, he’s completely unbothered by the arrest. Moreover, he believes he was taken to jail for no reason.

Kodiyakredd Looks Unbothered Following Recent Arrest

“Yo, I’m going to jail for no reason bro,” he said in one clip, which was followed by his update. “I’m out by the way,” he began. “I came out early as f*ck in the morning, y’all know what time it is.” Kodiyakredd continued, lighting up and insisting he doesn’t care at all about his latest legal issues. “I’m gonna be chillin’, I don’t give a f*ck,” he explained. Unfortunately for Kodiyakredd, this wasn’t his first run-in with the police, as he was also arrested in May of last year for alleged domestic battery.

At the time, his then-girlfriend alerted authorities after he allegedly pushed her into a pool at a Florida Airbnb. She was later taken to a hospital and treated for injuries to her chin, legs and arms. He denied the allegations, and the charges were later dismissed. Nicki Minaj Concert Canceled In Manchester After Arrest & Release In Amsterdam

Nicki Minaj’s recent arrest in Amsterdam over weed possession, which she insinuated was due to discrimination, resulted in a bigger hiccup than maybe some fans expected. Moreover, the Co-Op, the Manchester, England venue where she scheduled to play on Saturday (May 25) for her Pink Friday 2 world tour, announced that they had to cancel the concert. ” [We have postponed] Nicki Minaj’s scheduled performance at Manchester’s Co-op Live on Saturday 25th May,” the IG announcement read. “Tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled performance which [we will announce] ASAP.

“Despite Nicki’s best efforts to explore every possible avenue to make tonight’s show happen, the events of today have made it impossible,” the statement continued. “We are deeply disappointed by the inconvenience this has caused. More information will be available at your point of purchase.” While Nicki Minaj is already free from Dutch custody, we’d guess that this won’t be the last that we hear from her, her team, or her fans when it comes to this situation. All we can hope for is that the rest of this magnanimous trek proceeds swimmingly and without undeserved and stressful situations.

In other news, at least the Trinidadian MC has some new accolades to celebrate, although all this legal trouble probably dampened the desire to rejoice. Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang” with Jessie J and Ariana Grande is now her second Diamond-certified song, speaking to how that track withstood the test of time as a pop banger. Over the next few years, maybe even months, we’ll probably see many more of her biggest hits reach this commercial peak. Maybe it’ll be your favorite, maybe it’ll be one of the 2010s EDM crossovers, and maybe it hasn’t even come out yet.

That’s just how good Nicki Minaj is, just in case the wild success of the Pink Friday 2 world tour didn’t already indicate that. Hopefully fans in Manchester have another opportunity soon to see their fav, and the Co-Op’s announcement indicates that they will reschedule the show as soon as possible. So with that in mind, we’ll see whether the second attempt happens this summer or later this year. In fact, with that second North American leg on the way, maybe she has a chance to hop across the pond real quick.

Last week, Sean Kingston and his mother Janice Turner made headlines after officials raided the artist’s Florida mansion. Reportedly, the raid was conducted in connection to a lawsuit filed against Kingston earlier this year by Ver Ver Entertainment LLC. The company accuses him of failing to follow through with an agreement to make promotional videos with Justin Bieber in exchange for a $150K entertainment system. According to them, the entertainment system in question is allegedly still in his possession despite him not paying for it in its entirety.

His mother was taken into custody on the scene, though Kingston himself wasn’t home during the raid. Hours later, he was arrested at a concert in California on fraud and theft charges. Now, Turner’s mugshot has surfaced online, and unsurprisingly, most social media users are being anything but nice.

Nicki Minaj is now free from custody in Amsterdam, where authorities shockingly arrested her for drug possession without much of an explanation. However, despite the very vague and concerning nature of this arrest, it seems like she was finally able to get out of that situation with no further hiccups. Now, it’s time for Roman to look back on what happened, and she thinks that it’s a much more discriminatory situation than some might believe. Moreover, she took to Twitter early Sunday morning (May 26) to speak on Ari Lennox’s arrest in Amsterdam a couple of years ago, and to reference the controversial and tragic case of Sandra Bland, who police arrested for a traffic stop and found deceased in jail days later.

Even with all this controversy in mind, the Pink Friday 2 tour has still been as successful as ever, with a second North Ameri c an leg gracing fans very soon. This really excited Nicki Minaj’s die-hards, even if this news about the arrest makes every performance a little more stressful for fans given the bizarre and out-of-nowhere hiccups that she faced along the road. This isn’t the first time that she dealt with extenuating circumstances that threatened to delay or sabotage the trek. In fact, a lot of fans (and maybe the Trinidadian MC herself) think that these represent deliberate attempts to bring her down.

While that is more of a conspiratorial take, there is also plenty of success that Nicki Minaj deserved to celebrate if it wasn’t for this arrest. “Bang Bang” just became her second Diamond song, and Pink Friday 2‘s hits still have plenty of mileage. This tour could be a space for Nicki to celebrate herself, her fans, her material, and her trajectory. Sadly, it sometimes made her reckon with the pitfalls of fame and potential discrimination, but we hope things pick up from here and that the shows make it all somewhat worth it.

Nicki Minaj has reportedly been released from police custody following her viral arrest in Amsterdam on Saturday morning. The Pink Friday 2 rapper recorded the incident on Instagram Live, showing an official attempt to bring her into custody for “carrying drugs,” despite her claiming not to be holding any. The Island Boys are one of the most unsolvable cases in hip-hop culture. Twin brothers Franky and Alex Venegas have made the rounds on the internet over the last few years for all the wrong reasons. While they are classified as rappers, they are not really recognized for that. They are mostly known for their unspeakable antics that are painfully obvious attempts at clout chasing. For example, they went viral for kissing each other and pretending to perform oral sex. Additionally, the Island Boys have had their fair share of run-ins with the law with Franky’s reckless driving arrest now the most recent.

According to TMZ, Franky was handcuffed in his home state of Florida on Friday night. Currently, he is being held in Broward County Jail. On top of the reckless driving charge, he was also hit with operating a motor vehicle without a valid license and false ID provided to a law enforcement officer. However, the official details are not yet available. But TMZ was able to speak with the police about the situation.

As we mentioned, the Island Boys are no strangers to arrests. Around this time last year, Franky obtained a domestic battery charge to his record. Reports said that his then-girlfriend accused him of assault after she allegedly threatened to break up with him. She was allegedly slapped and thrown into the shallow end of a pool at a Pompano Beach Airbnb the two were staying at. Later on, she was treated at a hospital for injuries seen on her chin, legs and arms.

Sean Kingston Arrested Hours After House Raid On Fraud & Theft Charges

Just hours after his mother went into police custody during a SWAT raid on his Florida mansion, authorities arrested Sean Kingston at a California concert on fraud and theft charges. Moreover, he was performing at Fort Irwin for U.S. Army personnel, as indicated by social media coverage of these chaotic developments and some surfaced show clips. The singer and rapper now awaits extradition to Florida, where authorities filed these charges, from a San Bernadino jail. Authorities arrested his mother Janice Turner on similar charges of fraud and theft, which he reacted to via his Instagram Story. “People love negative energy! I am good and so is my mother! My lawyers are handling everything as we speak.”

Furthermore, this all relates to a lawsuit against Sean Kingston filed earlier this year from the company Ver Ver Entertainment LLC. They claim Kingston breached his contract with them and committed fraud when he reached out to buy a big TV and sound system. Rather than paying over $100,000 for the goods, he allegedly promised the company that he and “Eenie Meenie” collaborator Justin Bieber would make promotional videos for it. Following a $30,000 down payment and the promise of another $47,000 sum down the line, this promise allegedly never manifested after they installed the TV, and neither did the social media promotions.

Previously, Sean Kingston caught accusations of failing to pay for certain items, such as a November 2023 debacle with watch company Dream Watch over two unpaid pieces: a Richard Millie Model RM 65.01 Automatic and a Patek Phillipe Calibre. The company, seeking an award of over a million dollars, claimed that he contacted them in 2022 to buy the watches. Apparently, a representative flew from Malaysia to Los Angeles to give them. Allegedly, the Jamaican-American creative didn’t have the money for them, despite promising to pay via wire transfer.

“Sean Kingston represented his initial wire attempt was rejected because it was flagged by his bank due to the large amount being wired overseas,” the lawsuit read. “Thereafter, Kingston represented his account was frozen due to the initial wire attempt, amongst other excuses which persisted for over three months until Kingston stopped responding to Plaintiff entirely. Ultimately, the agreed upon funds [are still missing], and Defendants continue to refuse to render payment as agreed. Defendant Kingston continues to possess the two watches.”

NBA Youngboy’s Resurfaced Childhood Picture Has Fans Cracking Jokes

NBA Youngboy has had a turbulent year so far. His legal trouble in years past has seen him stuck in house arrest in Utah, though the period has allowed him to release music quite prolifically. Earlier this year he dropped the compilation tape Compliments Of Gravedigger Mountain which showed off some of the talents he’s signed to his label. That came after he released an astonishing four entire albums across just 12 months in 2023.

That was all disrupted last month when he was arrested and hit with numerous charges. Initial charges included possession of dangerous weapons and illegal substances as well as various accusations of fraud. Those were expanded on a few days later when he was hit with more charges. The second batch were allegedly related to a prescription drug scheme the rapper is accused of participating in. In total there were 63 different charges he was hit with. Given his history of legal trouble and the sheer volume of new charges he’s facing things could go south for Youngboy quickly. But none of that has stopped the typical cycles of virality from continuing in his absence.

The newest viral moment for Youngboy comes from an image making the rounds online. The picture features the rapper and his family when he was just 10 years old. While that would normally be an opportunity for fans to point out how adorable someone looks, the demeanor for Youngboy’s picture is very different. “i know that n*gga was giving his pre school teacher HELL” one of the top comments in response to the picture reads. “he just looks like he was bad as hell” another commentor agrees. Those are just some of the many comments mocking his appearance in the picture.
