Kendrick Lamar Will Headline 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show

It goes without saying that it’s been a massive year for Kendrick Lamar. The hitmaker went head-to-head with Drake in what would become one of the most explosive battles hip-hop fans have seen in a while. Of course, this has his supporters more eager than ever to know what his next move will be. Luckily, fans have more of an idea now, thanks to an announcement he just made on Twitter/X.

“Super Bowl LIX. New Orleans,” he wrote simply alongside a YouTube link. The video shows Kendrick positioned in front of a huge American flag, announcing that he’ll be headlining the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show, which is scheduled for February 9, 2025. “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” he explained. “And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

Kendrick Lamar Delivers Exciting News

This won’t be Kendrick’s first Halftime Show, however, as he was a special guest during Dr. Dre’s showcase back in 2022. Either way, fans can’t wait and are sounding off about the exciting news online. The announcement arrives amid the tremendous success of the Compton-born performer’s track, “Not Like Us.” The song has sold over 5 million units in the United States alone, an impressive milestone for being just four months old. It was the second track to do so this year, per Chart Data.

The announcement also comes just as Drake has been teasing the idea of a second round of their viral rap beef. Late last month, the Toronto artist shared a clip of Rasheed Wallace saying “We will win Game 2” on his burner Instagram account, which many took as a hint at what’s to come. What do you think of Kendrick Lamar announcing that he’s heading Super Bowl LIX? Are you surprised or not? Are you looking forward to his performance? Travis Scott Is “Back In Album Mode”

Travis Scott once had fans thirsting for UTOPIA for five years straight, but now, it seems like he’s more excited than ever to keep making art. Moreover, that 2023 album is still beloved and highly successful thanks to its replay value and its ongoing tours, and he just re-released his fan-favorite 2014 mixtape DAYS BEFORE RODEO on streaming services for the first time ever to much acclaim and sales controversy. As such, it might surprise you to hear that La Flame is apparently already working on his next full-length effort. He revealed this during a new Cultured magazine interview with legendary visual artist George Condo.

“I’m gonna be back in New York,” Travis Scott remarked. “I’m back in album mode. I’ve been working on music and s**t every day on tour. When I’m doing the stadiums, because they’re sold out, I can see the music for what it is. I’m f***ing amped.” “We’ve always approached everything from scratch, not doing loops,” he said of his overall creative process when it comes to making music. “Taking music back to the real raw art. Cooking things instead of having them passed down.”

Of course, this isn’t really something new for Travis Scott in concept. He followed up ASTROWORLD with the JACKBOYS EP the next year, plus a slew of singles up until UTOPIA dropped. Also, let’s not forget the massive hype that formed around ASTROWORLD before Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight had even dropped back in 2016. But considering the precedent that the Houston rapper’s five-year wait created, this should be a very exciting preview for fans. Let’s just hope it’s legit. After all, we’ve already had some canceled sneaker color-ways this year…

Jokes aside, we’ll see in due time what Travis Scott’s next full-length looks like. Whether it comes around quickly in 2025 or it’s the start of a years-long process, we’re sure that the results will impress, inspire, and engage. Meanwhile, fans are still salty about the sales battle between Sabrina Carpenter’s Short N’ Sweet and DAYS BEFORE RODEO. But selling over 360K copies of a ten-year-old mixtape is a larger flex than most No. 1 chart debuts.

The Weeknd Reveals His Next Album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow”: Details

The Weeknd has confirmed that his sixth studio album and the final in his ongoing trilogy will be titled, Hurry Up Tomorrow. It follows 2020’s After Hours and 2022’s Dawn FM. The Weeknd made the announcement on his Instagram page on Wednesday while sharing more details about the highly-anticipated project.

“Yesterday was fourteen years ago… We held our breath, falling into a shimmering sea in the after hours of the night. Attempted to cleanse the wounds with melodies and lights, a bulletproof bandage to shield what lies beneath…,” he wrote in a video showing red text scrolling up the screen. “In a place where the seasons never changed, where time ceased to exist. But therein lays the problem. Today has felt like an endless spin. I keep distorting the truth, immune to the dizziness, numb to the nausea. What lies beneath — screams in silence… i look in the mirror and feel both old and new stuck in limbo and unable to move. I still haven’t faced myself… The very thing that once made me invincible failed me on the world stage. A new trauma surfaced. When today ends, I’ll discover who I am.”

It’s been an undoubtedly busy few months for Megan Thee Stallion, and fortunately for her fans, she’s showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, she took to X earlier this week to tease an upcoming collaboration. “🐎X💜 👀,” she Tweeted simply, leaving the Hotties restless. Of course, they were quick to guess that she’s joining forces with BTS, which they finally confirmed today.

🐎X🦔(🐨),” the band’s account wrote, retweeting Meg’s cryptic teaser, “Coming Soon! 💜👀.” As expected, fans are over the moon. Megan Thee Stallion & BTS Are Teaming Up Once Again

“I love BTS, and I was telling my manager, ‘I really want to do a song with BTS, I don’t know what I can do or what we’re going to do,’” she told the outlet at the time. “Around that the same time, they wound up reaching out to me and asking me to do the ‘Butter’ remix. So, I was like, ‘Oh my God.’” News of the collaboration also arrives only months after Meg unleashed her third studio album, Megan. The project features the likes of Yuki Chiba, GloRilla, UGK, and more. This isn’t the first exciting announcement the Texas-born star has made as of late, however.

Earlier this week, she also took to social media to debut her relationship with Chicago Bulls player Torrey Craig with a TikTok couple’s challenge. For now, it remains unclear exactly when the child was born, though Hailey told W magazine that she was already six months along when she finally announced the pregnancy. According to her, the bump didn’t become obvious until her second trimester, making it fairly easy to hide. “I didn’t have a belly, really, until I was six months pregnant, which was when I announced it. I was able to wear big jackets and stuff,” she explained. When she finally revealed the exciting news, she told the outlet she was relieved. “I didn’t enjoy the stress of not being able to enjoy my pregnancy outwardly,” she described, “I felt like I was hiding this big secret, and it didn’t feel good. I wanted the freedom to go out and live my life.”

Travis Scott Promises That “Days Before Rodeo” Is Coming To Streaming Services Soon

Travis Scott is having a great time at Michael Rubin’s Fanatics Fest this weekend, and he had a very special announcement for fans. He revealed that his fan-favorite mixtape Days Before Rodeo will hit streaming services soon. This is particularly exciting because the project’s ten-year anniversary is this Sunday (August 18), so it would line up perfectly. It also adds to all the exciting fun that La Flame has had over the past few days, including a foot race with IShowSpeed.

Furthermore, this re-release would surely put a lot of newer Travis Scott fans onto his old material… That is, if they weren’t bumping “Drugs You Should Try It” and “Skyfall” already. A lot of these newer fans probably saw him join Future and Metro Boomin for a surprise performance during the duo’s Brooklyn tour stop. It seems like the “Cinderella” collaborators had a blast onstage, and the fans in attendance certainly reciprocated that energy in the pit and in the stands. If Days Before Rodeo does come out on streaming services, it would be great to see if more cuts from it make his setlists.

Travis Scott’s Days Before Rodeo Could Hit DSPs Soon

But other Travis Scott fans are more concerned with how the music industry receives his newer music today, and you probably know who and what we’re talking about. Cactus Jack Stans expressed outrage at the Grammys giving Killer Mike the Best Rap Album award this year over Travis, a conversation that continues to this day. Nowadays, it has more to do with commercial performance, as Scott’s fanbase clowned Mike’s recent sales for his new project. It’s a tiresome convo, but we can all agree that both MCs deserve this love and much more.

Meanwhile, Travis Scott probably feels quite grateful and lucky these days, especially after recent concerning events. Following his Paris arrest, authorities released him and didn’t charge him with anything, which was likely a relief for him and for fans. With Days Before Rodeo seemingly on the horizon and South American tour dates coming up, there will be a lot more to enjoy from the Houston creative in 2024. Let’s just hope that this isn’t an unfulfilled promise.

50 Cent Honors Grandfather After His Passing: “He Sacrificed For All Of Us”

Yesterday, 50 Cent took to Instagram to announce the death of his grandfather, Curtis Jackson Sr. While the loss is surely a difficult one to face, it looks like the performer is approaching it with a positive mindset. Curtis Jackson Sr. was 91 years old at the time of his passing, and his cause of death has not yet been revealed.

“You do know none of this sh*t really matters, [winking emoji] we can’t take it with us. I lost my Grandfather last night, now he can go everywhere with me,” Fif wrote. In a subsequent post, he shared a series of photos of his late family member, penning a heartfelt message about his grandfather and his sense of humor.

50 Cent Remembers Curtis Jackson Sr.

“My old man is tuff act to follow, he sacrificed for all of us. He made me smile every time I saw him,” he began. “The Last time he went to the hospital he was dehydrated so the nurse couldn’t find a vein. I came in, I said pop you alright? He said no🤨, she stick me again and I’m a start shooting. LOL 😆 I almost fell out! 😆🤣😂 South Side we out side WTF!” Clearly, despite struggling with health issues, Jackson Sr. never failed to cheer up those around him.

50 Cent was raised by his grandparents from the age of eight after his mother was killed in a fire. Jackson Sr.’s passing comes nearly a decade after the death of his grandmother, Beulah Jackson. Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign Announce “Vultures 2” Release Date

Fans have been eager to hear Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s album Vultures 2 for quite a while, and finally, it looks like they won’t have to wait much longer. Today, a message on the Yeezy website revealed the project’s release date. “VULTURES 2 COMING AUGUST 2ND,” it reads simply. Of course, this news has prompted mixed reactions from fans, as they’ve been let down in the past.

Originally, the sequel to Vultures was slated for release in March, which came and went with no album in sight. In April, Ye said it would be dropping in May, which also didn’t happen. It’s to be seen whether or not the duo will stick to their schedule this time around, though social media users aren’t too convinced they will.

Vultures 2 Should Arrive On August 2

“I’ll believe it when I see it,” one X user says in response to the news. “Believe at your own risk,” someone else jokes. While many are hesitant to get their hopes up, others can’t help it. After all, Ye and Ty just announced a Vultures 2 listening party in Taiwan, had Adin Ross preview their Future collab on stream and more. Oddly enough, the announcement also comes just weeks after Ye told Rich The Kid that he was retiring. “I am retiring from professional music. Not sure what else to do,” he wrote in a text, which RTK later posted on social media.

Fans weren’t necessarily buying that claim either, which appears to have been the right move considering his latest announcement. What do you think of Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign announcing that their eagerly anticipated project Vultures 2 is slated for release on August 2? Do you believe them or not? Are you looking forward to hearing the album when it finally drops? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Killer Mike Announces His New Album And It’s Dropping Way Sooner Than You Might Think

Killer Mike has announced that he will be releasing his next album, Michael & The Mighty Midnight Revival: Songs For Sinners & Saints, on Friday, August 2, 2024. The project will encompass 10 tracks and feature collaborations with Offset, Key Glock, Project Pat, and more. In a statement obtained by HipHop-N-More, Mike described it as a continuation of the sound he used to win the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album with MICHAEL, last year. To that effect, the tracklist features a new version of “Slummer” and “Something For Junkies,” from MICHAEL that are combined into one song.

“I had a year to live with MICHAEL, and I realized I had more I wanted to do with this sound before moving on,” he began. He added, “For me, this is a testimonial. When I was growing up an important part of church service was people having the opportunity to stand up and give public testimony on their trials, tribulations, and triumphs. After the celebratory atmosphere that followed MICHAEL I was reminded that tribulations never cease, but God is always with me and this is a testimonial of my tumultuous times, my trials, and my continued triumph in spite of doubt, outright hate, and fear. I am here to speak to and with my fellow sinners and Saints.”
