Lil Durk Announces ‘Sorry For the Drought’ Tour with Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, and DD Osama

Lil Durk announced his Sorry For The Drought Tour, which will embark on the road this summer with special guests Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, and DD Osama.

The 27-city tour, which Live Nation organizes, begins on July 28 in Tampa’s MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheater and travels to Brooklyn, Chicago, Los Angeles, and other cities before concluding on September 7 in Phoenix at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre.

Tickets will be available starting with the Live Nation presale beginning Wednesday, May 17. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on sale beginning Thursday, May 18 at 10 am local time at Ticketmaster.com and Almost-Healed.com

Lil Durk returned last week, introducing his Almost Healed album with the new single “All My Life” featuring J. Cole.

Fans yearned for the full release of “All My Life” when Durk first teased it with a viral Instagram sample that lit up the internet. As J. Cole skillfully delivers his reflective stanza, the track’s mellow piano melody establishes the mood. Durk duets the chorus with a children’s chorus before delivering his verse.

21 Savage Gives J. Cole His Flowers For Verse On Lil Durk’s “All My Life”

“All My Life” by Lil Durk and J. Cole might just be the most anticipated and buzzed-about hip-hop drop of the week. Of course, ever since the Chicago native teased a collab with the North Carolina lyricist at the Dreamville Festival in early April, fans clamored for it to release. Now, ahead of Durk’s next album Almost Healed, this single will hold them over and keep them excited for what’s to come on that project. Of course, such a notable collab was bound to turn heads within the industry as well. For example, 21 Savage recently took to Twitter to praise the “on the street” MC for his contributions to the track.

“Cole just went so crazy on that verse wtf,” 21 wrote on Twitter shortly after the song’s release. Listeners definitely agree, as the social media platform flooded with awed and impressed reactions to the collab. It’s definitely a more introspective and heartfelt offering than some of Lil Durk’s more overtly aggressive or boastful tracks. However, that’s not to say that such themes were never there in the first place. J. Cole and 21 Savage also have songs and tours together, which makes their respect for each other that much more meaningful.

21 Savage Praises J. Cole’s Verse On “All My Life” By Lil Durk

In addition to the Atlanta MC, Smurk himself also had some words to say about J. Cole’s verse. In fact, he had a pretty hilarious admission to make, and goes to show that rappers have to be humble when necessary, as well. “The number one thing, he smoked my a** on that, for one,” Lil Durk expressed. “Barely. That barely happens. But shoutout to Cole, shoutout to [Dr.] Luke. We made it happen.” From what people like 21 Savage have said, it’s not hard to see why.

Meanwhile, the “One Mic, One Gun” rhymer recently popped out at Young Nudy’s concert in Atlanta to play a standout collab of his own. The two performed “Peaches & Eggplants” off of Nudy’s recent album, Gumbo. Hopefully he can link with either Durk or Cole soon, and maybe he will be the one with the highlight verse this time around. Lil Durk And J. Cole’s ‘All My Life’ Video Is A Ray Of Light For The Youth Looking To Find Their Voice

Lil Durk earned his musical nickname, “The Voice,” because of his vivid lyrical depictions of growing up in Chicago’s tumultuous South Side. His new single, “All My Life,” featuring J. Cole, shows he isn’t taking his platform for granted. The song marks the first release from his forthcoming album, Almost Healed, due out later this month.

Produced by Dr. Luke, the rapper detours from high-energy drill music sound for a more subdued production style. Trading in his over-the-top percussive elements for an angelic choir filled with local youth. As Durk raps, “I decided I had to finish, but the media called me a menace / I done sat with the mayor and politicians, I’m tryna change the image / You can’t blame my past no more, I come from the trenches,” it’s clear that he’s heard the criticism of his recent advocacy work.

In the accompanying visual directed by Steve Cannon, Lil Durk and J. Cole join in with the young people on the set to unify into one collective voice. The video serves as a touching reminder that while the youth are indeed the future, it takes efforts from their elders to clear the way for them.

In a rather bizarre story, Lil Durk sent a DM to Tekashi 6ix9ine with an offer for a boxing match in Dubai. The two rappers have long dissed each other, even in music, as Durkio shaded 6ix9ine on Drake’s “Laugh Now, Cry Later.”

“I dont want you hurt or dead you a kid from the burbs,” Durk wrote to 6ix9ine. “I got 50 million my own money without help to fight you on tv in dubi we can double the money 3 rounds…..go talk to your rich friends lets set it up setember – stop the violence lol.”

6ix9ine, seemingly confused, pointed out that the request could be to support Durk’s album press run.

“U need anything to promote this album since nba young boy not biting the bait,” 6ix9ine wrote. “But I wanna fight you for no money pussy. For free.”

And this where it gets even more weird, “Come to Miami let’s get a hotel room and just throw down 1 on 1.”

Durk immediately backtracked, “Bait ? Hotel? Aw naw I’m cool enjoy your day …. I’m not worried bout sells [sales] I just wanted to beat your ass fir some money.”

Lil Durk Releases J. Cole Collab, “All My Life”

A little over a week ago, Lil Durk and J. Cole previewed their new collaborative single, “All My Life.” Interestingly enough, some felt it could potentially be Lil Durk’s first number-one hit. At the time, the two rappers revealed they had also recently filmed a music video for the upcoming song. From there, Lil Durk took to Instagram and posted a snippet of the song from the video shoot, where Cole rapped along to his verse while holding the camera, surrounded by a group of children. As expected, “All My Life” is included on Durk’s new album, Almost Healed.

Surprisingly, the single was produced by legendary pop producer, Dr. Luke. In the song, Lil Durk reflects on his journey to fame and how he is determined to change the public’s perception of him. “It’s just a rap that’s just showing you what I been going through. What I been doing lately. Trying to change how I am,” Durk said in an interview with XXL. Furthermore, the rapper went on to talk about the struggle of finding the right person to feature. “Dr. Luke produced it. We were just trying to figure out like what’s the right person to put on it,” Durk said. “‘Cause it’s one of those songs where if it’s not the right person to do the second verse… I feel like Cole can bring the energy that I’m looking for to it.”

Lil Durk Gets Introspective

To say that “All My Life” is introspective or deep would be an understatement. In fact, it seems that Lil Durk is pivoting to take a route that prioritizes things like social change and community. On the track, Lil Durk talks about all manner of things from drugs to child support to children wanting to hurt themselves.
