She wrote: “He’s 36 & In End He Came after me, Till we met in the middle. He’s Consistent one, I’m The Skittish one. We love each other…. LADIES NEVER GIVE UP.” 

November 2022: Rumor Had It

On November 1, 2022, Cher posted a somewhat cryptic tweet. She wrote: “One part of my life is SO AMAZING.” While some fans were confused, many were happy for whatever (or whoever) the icon’s tweet was alluding to. Rumors began to swirl when Cher was spotted with AE on a night out with rapper Tyga. The pair were photographed leaving a restaurant in Los Angeles hand-in-hand. According to TMZ, the trio had dinner at Craig’s, and after midnight, Edwards and Cher rode in the same car heading to The Nice Guy for a bit more fun. 

This night out unsurprisingly immediately sparked speculation about the nature of their relationship. A day later, Cher confirmed the dating rumors by posting a picture of her new beau, with the caption: “Alexander” followed by a heart emoji. While some fans shared their support for her new relationship, others shared concerns about Edwards’ intentions. She responded with a tweet, writing: “As we All Know…I WASNT BORN YESTERDAY, & What I Know For Sure…There Are No Guarantees. Anytime you make a Choice You Take a Chance. December 2022: Cher And AE Spark Engagement Rumors 

As the holiday season approached, Cher and AE were spotted together more frequently. The couple were often seen attending events and enjoying intimate dinners. Evidently, their chemistry was undeniable, and the couple appeared to be genuinely happy. For Christmas, Cher and AE gifted fans some pictures that immediately sent everyone into a frenzy. Cher had posted a picture of the rapper sporting green flame nails while holding a pear-shaped diamond ring. The caption read: “THERE R NO WORDS, Alexander, A.E.” This sparked engagement rumors, but Cher followed that post with another cheeky tweet. She wrote: “I posted this cause his nails are so cool.”

January 2023: Love In The Limelight

New Year’s came with a bang, as Cher posted a picture of her and AE together while she was wearing the ring on her middle finger. The picture featured Edwards kissing Cher on the cheek and holding her hand. It was captioned: “Happy New Year Daddy.” Furthermore, in a tweet featuring the two looking at each other lovingly, she wrote: “This should Send you Haters to The Part in Wizzard of OZ…WHEN DOROTHY THREW WATER ON THE wicked Witch & Melted her.” 

March-September 2023: Is It All Over?

In March, Cher shared with E! News that she was working on some music with AE. She stated: “I’m going to England to make two albums. Some of the songs, Alexander gave me, so I’m pretty excited about that. He’s a producer and a writer and he does everything, so I’m happy about that.” The support for the couple’s relationship was growing by the day. 

However, despite their strong bond, it seemed Cher and Edwards had already hit a wall in their relationship. In May 2023, an insider told E! News that the beloved couple had called it quits. The insider said that while the couple had split weeks ago, they remain amicable.  However, four months after the supposed breakup, Cher and Edwards were spotted by Page Six holding hands as they headed to dinner with some friends. Evidently, the couple had reconciled and were back together. 

October 2023: Cher And AE Celebrate One Year Together

In October, Cher and AE were photographed attending the Valentino fashion show at Paris Fashion Week. Cher shared a picture of herself and Edwards heading to an H&M premiere party for her new Christmas album, which Edwards contributed to. Speaking to PEOPLE, Cher reflected on their relationship following their first anniversary. “No matter what happens, I love being with him,” she said. “He makes me laugh, and we have fun. What I learned is that it’s never too late… But we’ve been together a year, and if it was just a year, it would’ve been worth it. I’ve had the best time.”

December 2023: Sweet Love

Cher closed out the year with an interview on the popular Chicken Shop Date with host Amelia Dimoldenberg. Cher spoke openly about her relationship with Edwards and even gave the host some dating tips and advice. When asked if she fell for Edwards quickly, Cher said:

“No, not at all. I left to go to Switzerland and he texted me, ‘Where are you going?’ I said, ‘I’m going to Switzerland. I’m a little tired.’ And then he wrote me, ‘Well, get some rest, babyyy,’ with three Ys. And I’m like, ‘He doesn’t know me well enough to put three Ys on baby.’ I was kind of pissed off. And then he just started texting me.”

January-May 2024: Cher And AE Are Still Going Strong

Kicking off another new year, Cher assured fans that her relationship was as strong as ever. She posted a picture of her sitting on Edwards’ lap as she gently touched his chin. The picture was captioned: “Love is love.” In March, the couple returned to Paris, reveling in the city’s fashion shows together. By the end of the month, they were back in Los Angeles, attending the 3rd annual Attorney Ben Crump EJN Awards. April brought another public appearance, as they traveled to Milan for Dolce & Gabbana’s 40th anniversary party. 

Their travels continued with a stay in Monaco, and in late May, Cher and AE took a helicopter to St. Tropez. Moreover, the pair were spotted walking hand-in-hand through the seaside town on their way to lunch at Club 55. For her 78th birthday, Cher was surprised with a small party in a private jet. She was surrounded by a select few and given a cake. The “Believe” songstress was beaming with joy and happy to be sharing the day with her man.

Cher is generally unfazed by the criticism of her relationship with Alexander “AE” Edwards, a Universal Music Group executive who is 40 years younger than the 78-year-old impending Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 2024 inductee. Cher is also unfazed by Edwards’ decision to fight Travis Scott and Southside at Cannes last month.

“I’m Proud of Alexander,” Cher wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, June 1, and yes, Cher’s erratic capitalization remains unedited for effect. “He Didn’t Start The fight Against 2 Men,… He finished it, Gotta Love Him.”

TMZ reported the physical altercation, complete with grainy video footage, and cited unnamed witnesses who claimed that Edwards “was the instigator, as he ran up on stage and initiated physical contact” with Scott at Richie Akiva’s annual amFAR The After party on May 23. Last week, TMZ caught up with Edwards at Los Angeles International Airport, where Edwards (sort of) clarified what actually happened.

“Shout-out Southside,” Edwards said. “That’s my n****. I know he was defending his boy and doing what he was supposed to be doing as his boy. I don’t got no hard feelings. It is what it is. It went how it went. That’s it.”

Edwards explained that he “doesn’t wanna fight” and denied initiating but acknowledged “I’m gonna protect myself and my people.” He also assured any concerned fans that Cher was not upset, using Future and Metro Boomin’s “GTA” as a reference point when describing Cher’s reaction: “Like Future say, ‘Whatever I’m with, my b*tch with it, too.’ My woman, but the lyrics are the lyrics.”

TMZ’s original report relayed that “the fight started after both Travis and Tyga were on stage behind the DJ booth,” and Scott appeared to become upset after Richie Akiva told the crowd, “We got T-Raww, AE, and Travis in the building” — “possibly a Kylie Jenner exes thing.” Edwards is a close friend of Tyga’s.

Last Thursday, May 23, Travis Scott, Tyga, Alexander “AE” Edwards, and Cher attended Richie Akiva’s annual amFAR The After party during Cannes Film Festival, where Edwards and Scott engaged in “a physical altercation,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. Several outlets reported the fight. TMZ provided grainy video showing punches thrown between Edwards and 808 Mafia producer Southside, with Scott eventually getting involved. TMZ cited unnamed witnesses claiming “Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards was the instigator, as he ran up on stage and initiated physical contact with Travis Scott.”

On Wednesday, May 29, TMZ caught Edwards, a Universal Music Group executive who has been romantically linked to Cher since late 2022, at Los Angeles International Airport and asked him about the messy ordeal.

Edwards initially played dumb when asked about the “crazy incident” before shaking his head and saying, “It’s all good.”

“Shout-out Southside,” Edwards said during the two-minute TMZ video. “That’s my n****. I know he was defending his boy and doing what he was supposed to be doing as his boy. I don’t got no hard feelings. It is what it is. It went how it went. That’s it.”

The TMZ reporter asked Edwards to clarify what initiated the fight, but Edwards declined to go into detail, saying, “I don’t wanna fight. I don’t initiate that sh*t. […] But I’m gonna protect myself and my people. That’s it. That’s all it is.” Edwards said he hasn’t spoken with Scott and didn’t have any message for him. “They got the message,” he said.

Of course, Edwards was also asked whether Cher was upset about Edwards’ behavior, and he cited Future and Metro Boomin’s “GTA” in response: “Hell nah. Like Future say, ‘Whatever I’m with, my b*tch with it, too.” Edwards laughed and clarified, “My woman, but the lyrics are the lyrics.” Edwards concluded by confirming that he and Cher are “a happy family.”

The Incident At Cannes 

According to a source who spoke to E! News, Alexander “A.E.” Edwards fought with Travis at a party. On May 23, 2024, Travis Scott and Tyga were at “The After” party hosted by Richie Akiva, following the 2024 amFar Gala. Travis, Tyga, and A.E. were all on stage being introduced by the event’s host. The clash reportedly began when Travis allegedly snatched the mic out of Richie’s hand and threw it to the floor. A.E then tried to de-escalate the situation but Travis walked off stage, only to return with rapper and record producer, Southside. According to the source, Southside became aggressive with A.E., which led to him getting punched by A.E. The source stated: “Southside began to become aggressive with people on stage and pushed A.E… Things escalated when Southside decided to not calm down, so A.E. eventually punched Southside.

You may be wondering what all this had to do with Travis Scott. Well, the rapper became part of the incident when he allegedly tried to push A.E. off the stage. On the other hand, Tyga was spotted standing behind the DJ booth, seemingly unfazed by everything going on.  Security eventually intervened and managed to break up the fight without any serious injuries. After the incident, Travis Scott and Southside promptly left while A.E. and Tyga chose to stay and enjoy the party until the early morning, according to the source.

Is Kylie Jenner To Blame?

Videos of the scuffle soon circulated online, showing the chaotic scene and drawing widespread attention. Fans quickly speculated that the brawl began because of Tyga and Travis’s past connection to Kylie Jenner. Tyga and Kylie Jenner dated publicly from 2014 to 2017, during which time their relationship was often in the media spotlight. After their breakup, Kylie began dating Travis in 2017. The couple have two children together and finally split in 2023.

This shared romantic history has occasionally fueled rumors of rivalry between the two rappers. However, there has been no evidence to prove that the scuffle was because of the model. After all, Travis Scott and Tyga have had a few interactions over the years that have not led to fights. Both have also maintained successful music careers and have crossed paths at various industry events. For example, in 2022, Tyga supported Travis by attending Travis’s first performance since his 2021 Astroworld Festival. Altogether, the two rappers are evidently amicable and cordial with each other, at least in public. In the wake of the Cannes incident, neither Travis Scott, Tyga, A.E., Southside, nor Richie have made a public statement.

Travis Scott And Tyga’s Crews Were Reportedly Involved In A Brawl At A Cannes Event

A party during the Cannes Film Festival was reportedly interrupted by a brawl involving rappers Travis Scott and Tyga as their crews exchanged blows during the event. The melee was confirmed by TMZ after grainy, dark video of the fight emerged online (those darn iPhones, am I right?) alleging that Travis and Tyga were directly involved speculated that they were scrapping over their mutual ex, Kylie Jenner.

According to TMZ, Alexander Edwards — a music executive at Universal who also moonlights as a rapper under the name “AE” and has been dating Cher (yes, that Cher) since 2022 — shouted out the rappers on the DJ’s mic. Travis reportedly snatched the mic from AE and exchanged some heated words with him. After initially leaving the stage, Travis returned with producer Southside, and AE and Southside exchanged blows. At this point, AE and Tyga’s assistants also jumped in, trading blows with Travis. Security eventually broke things up, and Travis and Southside both departed, with AE and Tyga remaining behind and staying until the wee hours of the morning.

One fight Travis Scott won’t have to worry about for the immediate future is the legal one stemming from the wrongful death lawsuits filed against him in the wake of the 2021 Astroworld Festival tragedy. All ten cases have been settled, leaving him with just two hundred or so injury suits set to be argued as one case starting in October.

Overall, it was said that this took place at Cannes and that it was Travis and Tyga in the melee. Well, it turns out that Tyga was not actually involved in the fight. Instead, it was actually his assistants who were involved in the massive brawl. Let us set the scene for you on this one.

Both Travis Scott and Tyga were behind the DJ Booth at Richie Akiva’s party. At one point, Akiva took the mic and said “We got T-Raww, AE and Travis in the building.” Subsequently, Travis got angry and smashed the mic before leaving the booth. Alexander “AE” Edwards was in the vicinity when this happened and tried to get Travis to calm down. However, Scott went to go get the producer Southside and returned. Eventually, Southside and AE started to fight and Scott intervened with himself and AE scuffling all across the stage.

As for Tyga, it has been stated that he remained behind the DJ booth as this went down. Instead, his assistants helped AE where they continued to keep Scott at bay. It was supposed to be a joyous event, however, it was subjected to violence. Meanwhile, Tyga and AE stayed at the party until the early hours of the morning.

Many were shocked to hear the news that Cher and music executive Alexander “AE” Edwards were romantically linked, and apparently, her close ones were taken by surprise too. 

With the pair having a 40-year age gap, a source revealed that most of her friends “are concerned” for the “Believe” singer and also don’t want her to get too serious with the 36-year-old.

Per RadarOnline, a source shared that “Cher has a lot of people worried for her right now,” continuing, “She’s saying it’s her business who she dates and she’ll make her own decisions, but the warning signs are there for everyone to see.”

The source also added, “Cher’s in way over her head as far as the vast majority of her friends are concerned. They want her to see this for what it is, a fun winter fling. They don’t want her to get carried away.”

The Grammy-winning singer, 76, recently appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show and gave fans some insight into her relationship with AE. Admitting that their romance sounds “ridiculous” on paper, she stated on the talk show, “But in real life, we get along great. He’s fabulous. And I don’t give men qualities that they don’t deserve.”

On what she appreciates most about him, Cher also said, “He’s very kind, very smart, he’s very talented, and he’s really funny. And I think he’s quite handsome.”

Alluding to their decades-long age gap, she shared that she hasn’t had much luck when it comes to dating men her own age.
