Al B Sure Claps Back At Fans Asking About His Relationship With Son, Quincy Brown

Al B Sure discussed his relationship with his son, Quincy Brown, in the comments section of a recent tribute for Kim Porter that he posted on Instagram in honor of the anniversary of her passing. Captioning pictures of Porter and Brown, he wrote: “Is it just another coincidence that one of our favorite activities to do together (pre @Quincy’s birth) was to sit ringside at our brother Michael Gerard Tyson’s fights and cheer him on. After MT’s knock outs, we’d attend the press conference and we’d be cuttin’ up while #IronMike addressed the media. Kimberlina, guess what? Your 58 year old, strong as an OX, very protective big brother’s is at it again on @Netflix.”

When one user commented on the post by asking if Brown had unblocked him on social media, he responded: “The real Question is he still following a man that abused his mother and he knows it very clearly. Think about that when you’re sitting at your desk at work on Monday trying to unravel this mystery in your mind.”

Sure and Brown have had a complicated relationship for years. During a recent appearance on Angela Yee’s Lip Service podcast, Brown had said that the two were doing better as of late, but things appear to have taken a turn in the time since. Earlier this month, Sure wrote on social media that his love for his children is being used as a “weapon” against him.

Check out Sure’s comment about his relationship with his son below. It comes after Brown also recently mourned the late Kim Porter in an Instagram tribute of his own. He wrote on the platform: “Here’s a rare photo of me with my Mom and Dad. I miss you every day,” while sharing a picture of himself and Porter. Quincy Brown Shades Biological Father Al B. Sure Amidst Diddy Drama

Quincy Brown’s relationship with his biological father has been well-documented. The actor and singer has spent most of his life with Diddy as his father figure, which has been maintained in light of the recent accusations leveled at the mogul. Quincy is standing by Diddy, and has even appeared in court to show his support. Amidst all the Diddy drama, however, Quincy took time out to do two things. He paid tribute to his late mother and he shaded his biological father in the same Instagram post.

Quincy Brown posted a throwback photo on November 15. The actor can be seen next to his mother, Kim Porter, while sitting in a toy car. “I miss you every day,” he wrote next to a heart emoji. The sincerity of the post checks out, especially with regards to Porter. It was the mention of Al B. Sure, however, that turned the heads of fans. The first part of the caption reads: “Here’s a rare photo of my with my mom and dad.” Seemingly harmless, until one realizes that Al B. Sure is nowhere to be found in the pic. Quincy Brown is calling out his biological father for being absent during his childhood.

Quincy Brown Has Continued To Support Diddy

The tensions between Quincy Brown and Al B. Sure have been particularly high in 2024. In January, Al B. Sure! posted a cryptic message on Instagram alluding to Diddy’s parenting. “Nothing breaks a dad more than seeing his love for his kids turned into a weapon against him,” he wrote. The comment section then filled with users criticizing Sure for being a bad father himself. It probably didn’t help that Quincy Brown wrote an open letter to the singer, criticizing him for being an absentee father, in 2019.

Despite these issues, Quincy Brown claims that he’s still in touch with his biological father. He spoke on their relationship during a recent appearance on the Lip Service with Angela Yee podcast. “He tends to, like, try and do, like, the ‘dad thing’ a lot,” Brown admitted. “But it’s like that’s not really where we’re at in life. Like, we homies more than anything.” Al B. Sure is not endearing himself to his son through Diddy, that’s for certain. The singer implied that the Bad Boy mogul was responsible for putting him in a coma back in 2022.

Al B Sure Says His Love For Quincy Brown Is Being Used Against Him

Al B. Sure says his love for his children is being used as a “weapon” against him. He made the comment in a statement on his Instagram Story, but didn’t provide any further details. “Nothing breaks a dad more than seeing his love for his kids turned into a weapon against him,” he wrote in the cryptic message.

When The Neighborhood Talk reposted the statement, fans had mixed feelings. “All of Al sons said he was absent. So he needs to stop. You failed Quincy,” one user wrote. Another countered: “P Diddy bullied this man out of fatherhood.” One praised Quincy for being mature about their relationship in the public eye. “Quincy is doing a good job of keeping his personal business private, especially this with his dad. Very mature young man… but his dad…,” they wrote.

Quincy recently detailed his relationship with his biological father during an appearance on Angela Yee’s Lip Service podcast. “We cool now. I just talked to him a couple days ago. He was congratulating me on the album,” Quincy explained. “But this isn’t – I think we got a cool relationship. He tends to try and do the dad thing a lot but it’s like, that’s not really where we’re at in life. We homies more than anything. We’re like, ‘Let’s go do something.’ And I feel like that’s kind of where we’re getting at now, actually knowing that we’re two grown men. We can talk about anything and everything. It’s not about anything else.”

Al B Sure Reportedly Increases Security After Demanding Investigation Into Kim Porter’s Passing

Last month, a book called Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice from the Other Side was released on Amazon. It was marketed as a memoir allegedly written by Kim Porter herself before her 2018 death. Her ex Al B Sure and the late actress’s children, on the other hand, describe it as allegedly “calculated fiction.”

As the book made headlines for the shocking allegations it contains, Al B Sure took to Instagram to weigh in. “I am writing this post to formally request an investigation into an entire group of individuals who worked at or around the residence of Ms. Kimberly Porter including the publicists who assisted drafting this,” he wrote. “Original notes are distinct from the fabricated bullsh*t and offensive pages circulated via Amazon which depict graphic sexual acts involving me that NEVER took place and were edited and added after Ms. Porter’s tragic murder.”

Al B Sure Acknowledges Homeland Security At American Liver Foundation Gala

He later hit the author of the book and Amazon with a cease and desist. Now, he’s reportedly ramped up his security measures, according to Page Six. Recently, he spoke at the American Liver Foundation’s National Legacy Gala in NYC and acknowledged the fact that Homeland Security was there. “I don’t know if I’m supposed to say this because I don’t want it to go viral,” he said at the time. “We even have Homeland Security in the building. Detective Jackson, good to see you.”

A source later told the outlet that Al B Sure has “stepped up his security immeasurably” in recent weeks. It’s unclear if this is directly related to his claims about his ex. What do you think of Al B Sure reportedly taking additional security measures lately? What about him demanding an investigation into Kim Porter’s death last month? Al B Sure Receives Warning From Author Of Allegedly Fake Kim Porter Memoir

Lately, a book marketed as a Kim Porter memoir has been making headlines for allegedly being fake. Diddy and Porter’s children released a statement about Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey For Justice, From the Other Side late last month. They indirectly accused the author, Todd Christopher Guzze, of spreading “false rumors” about their family. Al B Sure, Porter’s ex, also took to social media to allege that the book doesn’t portray him accurately.

He described the book as alleged “calculated fiction,” and even reportedly hit Guzze and Amazon with cease and desist letters over it last week. Now, it’s been removed from Amazon, and Guzze has sat down with The Art Of Dialogue to discuss the debacle. During the interview, he responded to Al B Sure and his cease and desist. He insisted the artist doesn’t know what information he was allegedly able to gather from a flash drive allegedly obtained by sources “very close to Kim and Sean Combs.”

Todd Christopher Guzze Tells Al B Sure To “Be Careful”

“Al doesn’t have the flash drive,” he explained. “So how would he know? How does he know what Kim wrote?” Guzze went on to warn Al B Sure not to “lock horns” with him, as he’s already wrapped up in another lawsuit. “Be careful,” he said. “Look me up. Look at my other lawsuit, 40 million in Miami. Go look at what I’m doing over there.” Reportedly, the book alleges that Al B Sure had a sexual relationship with Diddy, which he denies.

Al B Sure Sends Cease And Desist Over Allegedly Fake Kim Porter Memoir

It’s no secret that Al B Sure has issues with the memoir allegedly written by Kim Porter before her death. The book has been blowing up since its Amazon release this month, but he alleges that it’s “calculated fiction.” Earlier this week, he took to Instagram to share his take on Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice. Clearly, he’s not a fan.

“I am writing this post to formally request an investigation into an entire group of individuals who worked at or around the residence of Ms. Kimberly Porter including the publicists who assisted drafting this,” he wrote at the time. “It has come to my attention that these persons were also instructed to steal her computer and mobile devices, which contained her ‘original book notes.’ Original notes are distinct from the fabricated bullsh*t and offensive pages circulated via Amazon which depict graphic sexual acts involving me that NEVER took place and were edited and added after Ms. Porter’s tragic murder.”

Now, according to journalist Cheyenne Roundtree, he’s taken legal action. Reportedly, he’s sent cease and desist letters to both the author of the memoir and Amazon. Allegedly, he’s demanding that they stop the book’s sales. This latest development comes after Diddy’s children King Combs, Quincy Brown, Jessie James, and D’Lila Star shared a statement alleging that Porter did not write the book.

“Claims that our mother wrote a book are simply untrue,” the statement, shared earlier this week reads in part. “She did not, and anyone claiming to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves.” What do you think of Al B Sure sending a cease and desist to Amazon and the author of an allegedly fake Kim Porter memoir? Can you blame him? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Al B Sure Shares Shocking Theory About Diddy & Quincy Brown’s Relationship

Amid Diddy’s ongoing legal issues, one particularly vocal critic of the disgraced mogul has been Al B Sure. The performer never shies away from putting him on blast, particularly as it pertains to his biological son, Quincy Brown. Diddy adopted Quincy when he was three, but according to Al B Sure, he may allegedly be suffering from Stockholm syndrome.

Earlier today, he took to his Instagram Story to share a 2020 clip of Diddy claiming to have adopted a young girl. The clip in question resurfaced following his arrest this month. Quincy is seen in the background of the video, laughing and appearing to be in good spirits. “Look at poor Stockholm victim Quincy in the background,” a comment shared by Al B Sure reads.

Al B Sure Suspects Quincy Brown Has Stockholm Syndrome

Al B Sure went on to share a link to the Wikipedia page for Stockholm syndrome, a “Free Quincy” hashtag, and use emojis to write “[love you] Son.” At the time of writing, Quincy has yet to respond. However, he did hop online this week to release a statement alongside his siblings. In it, they shut down the “hurtful and false” rumors circulating about their parents, Diddy and the late Kim Porter. This was a response to the book Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice, which was published earlier this month. They insist she had no part in writing it, and urged the public to remember their mother for who she was instead of the “horrific conspiracy theories” surrounding her.

Al B Sure also issued a response to the controversial book, dubbing it “calculated fiction” and even insinuating that Diddy allegedly murdered Porter. What do you think of Al B Sure suspecting that his biological son Quincy Brown is suffering from Stockholm syndrome? Are you surprised or not? Al B Sure Theorizes That Diddy’s Ex, Kim Porter, Was Murdered

Al B Sure says that the new memoir allegedly written by Kim Porter before her death is manipulated and described it as “calculated fiction” in a rant on Instagram on Monday morning. In the wake of authorities arresting Porter’s ex, Diddy, on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking, Al B Sure wants an investigation into her death. Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice from the Other Side released on Amazon, earlier this month.

“I am writing this post to formally request an investigation into an entire group of individuals who worked at or around the residence of Ms. Kimberly Porter including the publicists who assisted drafting this,” Al B wrote.

He continued: “I urge you to consider who authorized such a fictitious publication without categorizing it as ‘Calculated Fiction.’ The publicists and conspirators worked in concert, from separate camps launching this campaign which appears to be a very personal and a deliberate distraction from there involvement in covering horrific crimes, assisted in, & perplexed the public for many years, which I have personally experienced and cautiously deemed just a ‘medical crisis’ for legal reasons until the rest of these atrocities were uncovered by authorities making it more believable to a gullible public that has been fooled for so long.” From there, he brought up Cassie and theorized that Porter was planning to sue Diddy in a similar way. Al B Sure Speaks On Diddy’s Arrest

Porter died in November 2018 after a sudden bout with pneumonia. As for Diddy’s recent arrest, he’s already pleaded not guilty to the charges. He’s also denied all of the allegations he’s faced over the last year. Be on the lookout for further updates on Al B Sure and Diddy on HotNewHipHop.

Today In Hip Hop History: Al B. Sure Dropped His Debut LP ‘In Effect Mode’ 36 Years Ago

Screenshot 2024 05 03 at 9.51.30 PM

On this date in 1988, Uptown Records R&B favorite Al B. Sure dropped his debut album In Effect Mode under the Uptown imprint and distributed on Warner Bros.

A little known fact about Al B. Sure is that before the release of In Effect Mode, the Mount Vernon native wanted to be a rapper, but his cousin Kyle West made R&B music, which influenced his decision to do the same. West was then enlisted as co-producer on Sure’s first album to which the duo wrote aall of the songs together on the album.

“Nite and Day”, the first single from the album, was written and recorded with no lyrics in 1987 by West, but when Sure heard the song a month after it was made, he wrote a chorus which led to he and West recording the song for the album.

In Effect Mode was quite a commercial success as well, having made it to #20 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart (where it remained for seven weeks). Five singles were released from the album, all of which made it to the Billboard singles charts: “Nite and Day,” “Off on Your Own (Girl),” “Rescue Me,” “If I’m Not Your Lover”, which was produced by Teddy Riley and “Killing Me Softly.”

Salute to AL B. Sure, Kyle West, Andre Harrell and the Uptown./Warner Bros. staff for making this a piece of Hip Hop/R&B history!

Al B. Sure Hits: The New Jack Swing Icon’s Best Jams

A maestro of R&B and the new jack swing, Al B. Sure has many hits under his belt. When he debuted in 1988, it marked the beginning of a very impressive run in his singing career. All of his albums from 1988 to 2009 had at least one song appear on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart. Although he hasn’t dropped anything since 2009’s Honey I’m Home, he remains fondly remembered by fans. Some are even hopeful that he will eventually drop something after over a decade of silence.

Al B. Sure has been making the rounds in the media more often lately. In fact, he recently shared a message on social media urging his biological son, Quincy Brown, to “come home.” This was following the infamous raids that took place at Diddy’s homes. Though his personal life remains rather under wraps, we can appreciate the singer’s impressive discography. Here are some of Al B. Sure’s best jams.

7. “If I’m Not Your Lover” (1988)

On May 3, 1988, Al B. Sure released his debut studio album, In Effect Mode. The 9-track project launched his career and remains his best-selling album to date. In Effect Mode contains some of the biggest hits by Al B. Sure, so it’s no surprise it’s a multi-platinum album. One of these songs, a standout from the project, is “If I’m Not Your Lover.” The upbeat, intimate track is up there with the very best songs the singer ever recorded.

6. “Right Now” (1992)

Released as a single from Al’s third album Sexy Versus, “Right Now” is a sensual R&B jam. The track showcases the singer’s vocal prowess and features some of his smoothest background vocals. Although Sexy Versus does not contain as many hits as In Effect Mode, it is still a great album by Al B. Sure. “Right Now,” the album’s biggest song, peaked at number 47 on the Billboard Hot 100. Additionally, it rose to the topmost position on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart as well.

5. “Off On Your Own (Girl)” (1988)

Another track from In Effect Mode, “Off On Your Own” was released as the second single from the album. The new jack swing track is catchy and up-tempo, so it’s no surprise it was popular among listeners. Soon after its release, it appeared on the Hot 100 chart, peaking at number 45. It is one of only five hits by Al B. Sure to appear on this chart. The song also peaked at number 25 on the Dance Club Songs chart and topped the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart. It is a certified banger and one of the most memorable jams in the singer’s catalog.

4. “I’m Still In Love With You” (1994)

“I’m Still in Love with You” is an iconic cover of Al Green’s 1972 classic of the same name. Al’s rendition is featured on the official soundtrack of the 1994 film Above The Rim. It was released as the album’s third single, and went on to become one of its most popular songs. It appeared on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart, peaking at number 9. Evidently, listeners liked what Al B. Sure did on the song, and they ensured it became one of his many hits.

3. “Killing Me Softly” (1988)

This track appears on Al’s 2x Platinum debut album and is one of its standouts. Like “I’m Still in Love with You,” this is a cover of an iconic song. The original track of the same name by Lori Lieberman was released in 1972 but did not chart. However, over the years, it has been covered many times. Although Al’s version is not among the most popular, it is pretty good nonetheless. It was released as the fourth single from In Effect Mode and appeared on both the Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs charts. It peaked at numbers 80 and 14 respectively.

2. “Missunderstanding” (1990)

When Al B. Sure released his sophomore album in 1990, it did not move as many numbers as his debut project did. However, it undoubtedly had some fire tracks that got heavy rotation in many households. Of the 15 tracks on the album, “Missunderstanding” was certainly the most popular among listeners. An exemplary record in the new jack swing genre, it stuck with listeners and got audiences moving. It is the only song from Al’s second album to appear on the Hot 100 chart, peaking at number 42. It also topped the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart.

1. “Nite And Day” (1988)

Saving the undisputed champion for last, we have “Nite and Day,” the singer’s debut single. Undoubtedly one of the greatest hits by Al B. Sure, it is the singer’s only song to appear within the top 10 of the Hot 100. With this track, Al came out swinging, leaving an unforgettable impression on listeners. It earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Male Vocal R&B Performance, and rightly so. “Nite and Day” is regarded as one of the best new jack swing songs, and we couldn’t agree more. You should definitely give it a listen if you’re unfamiliar.
