The Super Bowl has been one of the biggest events of the year so far, and not solely because of the NFL Championship game. As you’ve surely heard, Rihanna was recruited to headline the Halftime show. During her set, she made a major announcement of her own. Thanks to the growing baby bump evident during her performance, the world now knows she’s expecting her second child with A$AP Rocky.
Immediate reactions from fans obviously included excitement. However, there were plenty of jealous users expressing their emotions on social media, as well as those shocked by the news of another pregnancy when their son was born just nine months ago.
All eyes were on Rihanna as she sang some of her discography’s biggest songs. Elsewhere, cameras simultaneously kept a close watch on Rocky to get his reaction. Not only did the “Fashion Killa” celebrate his partner with a custom NFL jacket, but he also proudly filmed her from the audience before erupting into applause as she wrapped her set. Videos of the precious moment have been subsequently circulating online, earning the New Yorker plenty of praise for supporting the Bad Gal.
Among those chiefly complimenting him is Don’t Worry Darling director Olivia Wilde, who’s currently facing serious backlash for her comments. “If I thought he was hot before, this really put me over the edge,” she wrote while reposting the video on her Story on Sunday (February 12). As the blonde starlet’s post began making rounds online, users quickly questioned why she felt the need to publicly talk about another woman’s man in such a manner.
“Saying this about someone’s man and then tagging them???” one person wrote alongside a reaction video of Rih. “She needs to back up a little bit,” another pointed out, while someone else suggested, “Use close friends like normal people???”
Wilde has since gotten wind of her hater’s thoughts and didn’t hesitate to post another Story addressing the situation. “For anyone who got it twisted [eye roll emoji],” she began. “It’s hot to respect your partner. Especially when your partner just did thaaaaaat.”

Having a Bad Gal like Rihanna on his arm is an undeniably huge flex for A$AP Rocky, and he doesn’t take it for granted. The pair were friends long before their relationship bloomed into a romantic one. Just last May, they welcomed their first child together. After giving her some time to recover from giving birth the singer’s fans have been steadily demanding new music from her. Instead, she’s having a second baby.
During her legendary Super Bowl Halftime show last night, the 34-year-old quietly broke the news that she’s with child again. It remains unclear how far along she is at this point. Still, her budding bump was proudly on display as she sang. It was previously thought that a guest star may join Rih on stage. Some speculated that it could’ve been her boyfriend, but instead, the New Yorker happily watched on from the audience.
Wearing a custom NFL jacket with his partner’s tattooed hand holding a football displayed on the back, Rocky was showing immense love to the mother of his children. In footage making rounds online, he holds up his phone, like dozens of others around him, smiling while filming the “Diamonds” songstress in all her glory.
After capturing a few clips, the Testing rapper puts his phone in his pocket. This allowed him to fully take in Rihanna’s triumphant return without distractions. Seeing as this was also how she unveiled the couple’s second pregnancy to the world, it’s an equally as exciting moment for him and their family. Rocky is clearly feeling the Fenty founder’s vocals, as he bops along to some of her biggest hits.
Like everyone else in the stadium, the expecting father couldn’t take his eyes off of the Barbadian beauty. As her astounding set comes to an end, he breaks out in cheers and applause, congratulating RiRi as if she was performing for just him. On Twitter, countless users have been talking about the precious moment, praising A$AP for loving his other half so loudly.
“He’s watching his second unborn up there. I’d be happy too,” one person pointed out. Others wrote, “Ladies, get yourself a man who supports you just like this,” and “It’s the cheering at the end for us.” Scroll further for more social media reactions to Rocky and Rihanna’s relationship. As his daughter prepares to shine bright like a diamond on the Super Bowl Halftime show stage, Ronald Fenty couldn’t be more proud of Rihanna. The two have had an undeniably troubled relationship in the past. Now, however, they seem to have put their differences aside. Ahead of tomorrow’s big show, the singer’s father spoke with Page Six about the excitement brewing in the air.
“Everybody is saying that football is just opening up for her — it’s the Rihanna show,” the Barbadian joked. “It’s the moment that everybody has been waiting for.” As a father, he’s obviously biased, but he’s certainly not wrong. Everyone from Adele to H.E.R. has made it known that football will be taking a back seat to the mother of one’s performance.
Surprisingly, Fenty couldn’t get his hands on tickets to the Super Bowl. Still, that won’t stop him from showing his support for the ANTI hitmaker. He and two friends reportedly flew from Barbados to Las Vegas yesterday, where they picked up a Winnebago to rent. “The hotels are outrageous prices,” Rihanna’s dad said. “Oh my gosh, they’re like $1,600 a night!”
From Sin City, the proud papa and his crew will drive nearly five hours to Glendale, Arizona. The Bad Gal has reportedly been staying at a private home in Paradise Hills. She’s markedly been rehearsing non-stop for her highly anticipated return to the stage. In a press conference earlier this week, Rih teased that her show in 13 minutes of action that audiences will hopefully love.
Elsewhere in his chat with Page Six, Fenty spoke about his new role as a grandfather, revealing that his daughter is a “very overprotective mother.” The outlet made sure to ask him about the young boy‘s name, which his parents are keeping secret. It seems it’s going to stay that way, though Ronald did confirm that Rihanna has tried out “a few names,” but isn’t ready to share her choice just yet. “She’ll have my head if I tell you!” her dad joked.
Along with the Super Bowl show, it’s rumoured that the 34-year-old could be hitting the road for a worldwide tour soon. Nothing has been officially confirmed just yet, but the last time she hit the road was in 2016. Since then, the Navy has been desperately begging to hear more music from the new mother ASAP.
Of course, Rihanna hasn’t left the world without anything during her musical hiatus. She spends plenty of time working on Savage x Fenty, as well as her Fenty Beauty and Skin lines. Additionally, the multi-talent earned her first Oscar for one of the two songs she contributed to the Black Panther:Wakanda Forever soundtrack. Over the past few weeks, our Fire Emoji playlist has delivered heat from artists such as Moneybagg Yo, French Montana, and NBA YoungBoy. This weekend, the hot new arrivals continue to pour in. This is thanks to new projects from names like Ice Spice and Trippie Redd, not to mention a ton of exciting singles.
Elsewhere on our update, you’ll hear a posthumous feature from Juice WRLD, who lent his talents to “KNIGHT CRAWLER.”
It’s been nearly five years since A$AP Rocky delivered his Testing album. The father of one looks to be preparing for his next project’s arrival lately. His “Same Problems?” single landed earlier this week.
“Don’t bite the hand that feed you / I don’t hear or see no evil / Dilatin’ like my pupils / Means I already peeped you,” the New Yorker rhymes on the first track from Don’t Be Dumb.
Holding things down for the UK rap scene with a Fire Emoji-worthy title is Headie One. On “Martin’s Sofa,” he markedly samples Flatbush Zombie’s “Palm Trees” track while reflecting on his previously dangerous lifestyle.
Of course, our playlist wouldn’t be complete without some love for female rap stars. Firstly, Gloss Up and GloRilla connected for their “Bestfrenn” collaboration, following a string of successful joint tracks for the Memphis native.
Additionally, Ice Spice made her mark on Friday (January 20) with her Like..? EP. The entire six-track project is worth listening too, but we’re shouting out the Bronx baddie’s “Gangsta Boo” with Lil Tjay.
Stream our latest favourite Fire Emoji releases exclusively on Spotify below. Additionally, make sure to check back tomorrow (January 22) for our weekly R&B Season update.
A$AP Rocky may have recently become a new dad, but he’s not wasting any time in the studio. Today, the Harlem, New York native unveils his latest single, “Same Problems?” via A$AP Worldwide/Polo Grounds Music/RCA Records.
The new single sees Rocky reflecting on all the losses he’s had to ensure over the years, especially artists in the rap game. The song was initially previewed during his Amazon Music Live concert in Los Angeles, in which he paid homage to Takeoff, Pop Smoke, Juice WRLD, and even Biggie during his set.
He introduces the song by stating, “Rest in peace, to everybody we lost in Hip-Hop throughout the years. You gotta know that we’re the highest statistic of losing people. No other genres loses rockstars, pop singers, and country artists. Hip-hopers, we get killed and shot everyday. Overdoses and all sorts of unfortunate events, so this next song is dedicated to everybody we lost or anybody who ever lost somebody.”
“Same Problems?” is a little slower than his usual tempo, taking the time to honor those who unfortunately lost their lives in the past few years. Additionally, the song arrives on the eighth death anniversary of Rocky’s close friend A$AP Yams.
Speaking to Zane Lowe of Apple Music, Rocky states, “I think I was feeling remorse. I think I was feeling plight. I think I was also feeling a sense of guilt, because every time we lose somebody in our community, we all, especially me, have a habit of just saying things like, ‘It’s messed up. It’s wrong. Why do these kind of things happen?’ You ask a bunch of questions and usually… I never took time out to really understand that I was part of the problem because I was contributing those kind of lyrics and whatnot to songs.”
He continues, “Without preaching too much, I just wanted to touch on something a bit different opposed to just being braggadocios, flamboyant and just regular rap content for me. I just kind of wanted to express myself and tell how I felt without preaching. And I think we can all relate. We all got the same problems. The irony that my biggest hit to date was … My first hit was ‘F*ckin’ Problems’. And now 10 years later exactly, I’m putting out a song named Same Problems. It’s just like problems, problems, you know what I mean?”
Last month, the 34-year-old revealed his new album is complete. Before the commercial break during Thursday Night Football, ASAP states, “Amazon, my first time back on the stage. My album is done, don’t be dumb. Let’s go!”
Rocky’s last full-length album was 2019’s Testing, which saw standout features from Kodak Black, Skepta, Kid Cudi, Juicy J, French Montana, Frank Ocean, T.I., and more.
“Same Problems?” arrives on the heels of Rocky’s last single, titled “Shittin’ Me,” released one month ago.
ESPN’s Stephen Smith apologized after his interview on the Sherri Show with Sherri Shepherd where he said, “although Rihanna is great,” he didn’t think she could match Beyoncé’s 2016 Super Bowl show. The chatter about this year’s Super Bowl halftime show increases as we inch closer to Rihanna’s huge performance. The singer has been keenly focused on growing her Fenty brand into the billions. Despite the pushback she’s received for the delay in her next album, her fans are still excited about each new venture. A$AP Rocky recently spoke about the singer’s upcoming display and looks forward to the finished product.
“Oh, man. I’m just as excited as you guys, if not more,” Rocky told Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1. “Yeah, I’m super excited. This is as huge. This is incredible. I’m so glad that my lady’s back making music again and whatnot, and getting back out there.”
“It’s just incredible. Especially for both of us, it is a good year for both of us to be more active and be out there,” he also shared. “But the Super Bowl is huge, and her being the creative she is she going to bring it, man. I’m excited. I’m more excited than everybody else, honestly.”
Rocky and Rihanna welcome their baby boy in May 2022, and according to the rapper, fatherhood has significantly changed his life.
“It’s so unexplainable. It’s just one of those things. I’m a member of our club now, like the dad club,” Rocky said. “You see a dad, you see me. I’m playing on, I’m a full dad now. Being outside and working and being creative, it drives more energy for you, to obviously, to think and soak things up like a sponge now that I’m a dad, because I have a whole nother perspective.”
The couple has shared few images of their little one with the public. With two high-profile parents, the baby will need all the privacy he can get in his early years. Additionally, this new “perspective” Rocky speaks of has its benefits.
“But it honestly helps you get home to your family and get home to your baby,” he further stated. “And I can’t even explain it, man. You come home to heaven every day. I’m so thankful. God is good, man.”
