It Turns Out 50 Cent’s ‘Grand Theft Auto’ Teaser Was On The Nose But Not Quite What It Seemed

Earlier this month, 50 Cent shared an image from the game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and wrote, “I will explain this later, GLG GreenLight Gang this sh*t bigger than Power trust me. Boom.” Naturally, this had people thinking that he was teasing some sort of involvement with the GTA franchise, perhaps in the highly anticipated sixth mainline game in the series. Now, though, we know what the post was really about: A new show that has a current working title of Vice City.

Deadline reports that Paramount+ is developing the show from Lionsgate Television, Paramount Television Studios, and G-Unit Film & Television. The publication’s summary of the show reads:

Vice City follows three friends, and former soldiers, who return to their home city of Miami in the mid-’80s after being dishonorably discharged from the military for their involvement in the Iran Contra scandal. Disgraced, displaced, and forgotten by the country they served and with no good job prospects, the three friends partner with a mysterious Colombian immigrant, uniting their financial needs and criminal ambitions to form a heist crew. Fueled by the need for American green, they traverse a violent and dangerous path in pursuit of the American Dream.”

The show is written and executive produced by Darnell Metayer and Josh Peters (both known for their work on Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts), while Chad Stahelski (of the John Wick franchise) will serve as executive producer/director.

50 Cent Comments on Debra Lee & Bob Johnson’s Affair: ‘Deb Must Got That WAP’

50 Cent Apologizes to Megan Thee Stallion for Social Media Jokes About Tory Lanez Shooting

50 Cent has likely seen and heard more than we could imagine during his time in the entertainment industry. After former BET CEO Debra Lee revealed that she had an affair with BET Founder Bob Johnson, 50 offered his two cents.

“you would not believe what goes on behind the scenes,” 50 wrote on Instagram.

In a second post, 50 had a bit more flagrant comment: “Deb must got that WAP”

Former BET CEO Debra Lee revealed on Good Morning America that she had an affair with BET founder Bob Johnson. Both were married then, but Lee states Johnson threatened her during the affair.

“I wanted to tell that story because power dynamics are so important in a relationship, especially if you’re having a relationship with someone you work for. We all know the potential pitfalls. I worked for Bob Johnson for 10 years before we had a personal, romantic relationship. He was a mentor and he was responsible for a lot of my success. We did have a relationship while we were both married. We ended up both divorced and then people knew about the relationship. The company knew, we started going places together.”

Debra Lee appeared on Good Morning America in the promotion of her new memoir, I Am Debra Lee. She also stated Johnson leveraged his power against her, threatening her job if she left him. Once he left the network, she stated she was able to live her dream “without any form of harassment.”

BMF’: Here’s All The Music You Heard In Season 2, Episode 9

(WARNING: Spoilers for this week’s BMF episode will be found below.)

In episode nine of season two of BMF, Meech and Terry are back in Atlanta and they’re there for few reasons. With their Colombian connect in place, the duo, along with help from the rest of BMF and the PA Boys, are looking to set up shop in ATL. Though business is at the forefront of their minds, they also made sure to find some time for some fun as they make the trip during the famed Freaknik week. While Meech and Terry are able to get the ball rolling on setting up shop in Atlanta, thanks to some help from Goldie, it doesn’t come without some unfortunate events. Meech and Terry’s good friend Ty is shot and killed during a shooting in the city and B-Mickie nearly kills Terry — and that’s just the half of it.

The aforementioned events in the ninth episode of BMF season two, titled “High Treason,” are soundtracked by songs that help to accentuate the emotions behind each scene. You can find a list of them belong as well as details about the scenes that the records soundtracked.

The following records were provided thanks to the Starz Public Relations team.

Al Skratch x Fredro — “Get ‘Em”

We hear this record around the 0:30 mark as Terry, Meech, B-Mickie, and others are racing down Atlanta streets and sports cars clearly enjoying themselves.

Fredro — “It’s Not Safe”

Around the 02:02 mark, Meech gets off the phone with Detective Bryant after essentially telling him to kick rocks. B-Mickie looks forward to relocating to Atlanta to start new, but he still fears the unknown despite Meech’s attempts to reassure him.

50 Cent — “Wish Me Luck” Feat. Charlie Wilson

This is the theme song of BMF. It plays around the 3:00 mark in “Both Sides Of The Fence.” While it’s only 50 Cent and Charlie Wilson’s voices that are heard at this moment, the song also features Snoop Dogg and Moneybagg Yo.

M.C. A.D.E. — “Bass Mechanic”

M.C. A.D.E’s “Bass Mechanic” can be heard around the 04:34 mark as Meech, Terry, B-MIckie, and the BMF and PA Boys arrive in Atlanta. Though there is business to take care of, the crews are starting things off with some fun at Freaknik.

Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock — “It Takes Two”

Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock iconic “It Takes Two” records plays around the 05:11 mark as the party begins. We see Meech dancing with two girls, Terry playing cards, and everyone else having fun. One member of the PA Boys is being too aggressive with a woman which forces Meech and Sterling to call for his removal from the job they’re in Atlanta for.

Aerin— “No Lookin’ Back!”

We hear this track around the 12:13 mark as Meech and Terry arrive at Goldie’s house for the first time since they were last in Atlanta earlier this season. They meet with her to ask for help in setting up shop in Atlanta

Nyalah — “Show Out”

Around the 16:33 mark, Meech and Terry’s arrive at Ty’s house. They meet his wife (played by Yung Miami) and propose the idea of planting a flag in Atlanta, but without stepping on Ty’s toes. Ty reluctantly agrees to help them out in setting up shop in Atlanta. They also agree to stay for dinner.

Man Doe — “Shave Beat”

This instrumental plays around the 19:30 as Lucille sits at dinner with Pastor Swift. She vents about the struggles she’s had with the men in her life (Charles, Meech, and Terry). Swift makes a move with Lucille, but she turns him down.

E. Thompkins — “Live Without You”

We hear this record around the 21:50 mark as Monique and Lamar are doing lines of coke. Monique is still trying to trap Lamar and possibly kill him as she’s planned with Meech. Lamar catches on to the basis of Monqiue’s plan and things take a tragic turn.

Quann — “Break Beat 1”

Around the 31:45 mark, Meech, Terry, and the BMF & PA Boys crew return to the streets of Atlanta where they spot a man named Dice selling in the crowd. Meech and B-Mickie approach him and look to set up a deal.

BChe x Bud — “Take My Life”

This song plays around the 37:34 mark as Terry sits in the car with a man he hired to kill B-Mickie. Meech and Terry tricked B-Mickie into thinking that they were going to Atlanta to set up shop for a hub he would be in charge of. Truth is, they both planned to have him killed.

Marlon and Osinachi — “A&T”

We hear this song around the 38:48 mark as BMF and the PA Boys walk into Magic City for a night of fun. Meech is approached by a stripper who’s in college and looking to get her tuition paid. In the end, the both get what they want.

Stephie — “Moon Bolder”

Around the 41:13 mark, Meech emerges from the back room in the strip club to meet with Stephanie, a real estate agent in Atlanta that Goldie promised to introduce him to.

Anderson — “Brave”

We hear this song around the 41:45 mark as Meech and Terry’s meeting with Stephanie concludes. They both tell her the homes they’re looking for, and when Stephanie and Terry leave, Goldie tells Meech that the sick lady he saw at her house was her baby sister who is suffering from AIDS.

Don Cabán — “Chasing Paper”

The episode concludes with this record playing starting at around the 48:26 mark. “High Treason” ended with Meech having to tell Ty’s wife that he was shot and killed. She slaps him and tells him to make sure that whoever did this pays for their crimes. Meech also stops B-Mickie from shooting Terry.

New episodes of ‘BMF’ are available on the STARZ app on Fridays at 12:00 am EST and on the STARZ TV channel at 8:00 pm EST.

50 Cent Details Being In Love With Girlfriend Jamira Haines

Two respected veterans collided on The Wine Down with Mary J. Blige. The new series is Blige’s latest venture, and within its first few episodes, fans can’t get enough. The Queen of Hip Hop-Soul is capitalizing on her lucrative industry relationships and sitting down with some of the hottest names in the industry. We’ve covered her conversation with Yung Miami and Taraji P. Henson, and now Blige returns for an intimate chat with 50 Cent.

In a promo for the episode, Blige and Fif talked about his relationship with Jamira Haines, also known online as Cuban Link. The couple has been going strong for years, and their romance is only heating up. They keep the details of their connection private, and rightfully so. 50 Cent is an entrepreneur with success across entertainment, and he doesn’t risk sharing too much of his business.

50 Cent Is In Love

The Powerverse mogul and his leading lady have frequently taken to social media to tease about their relationship. Fif is known for trolling the masses, often putting his famous peers in the hot seat. However, sometimes he receives the same attention from Haines, who playfully turns the table on him. During his chat with Blige, Fif explains what this love with Haines means to him.

“I’m in a friendship with a woman, and I’m finding gratification out of seeing her happy,” Fif said. Blige was taken aback and called that “beautiful.” Fifty added, “At that point, I think I’m in love with her. ‘Cause even if her friends or her people are there, and they’re doing their thing, I’m happy because I know she’s really happy at that point. You understand? It’s not necessarily coming from me, but that’s how I interpret love.”

A Must-Watch Conversation

Elsewhere, he joked about the type of lover he is, giving himself a “10” on a ranking scale. Separate from his love life, Blige questioned 50 Cent about being shot, and of course, Fif also dishes out wisdom he’s learned on his journey. Check out a clip of the two longtime friends above.

50 Cent Developing “Vice City” Show Based On “Grand Theft Auto”

Despite how big of a franchise Grand Theft Auto is, there hasn’t really been many moves to take the story to the big screen. There have been rumors of a GTA film and television series, though none of them materialized. However, it seems as though 50 Cent is the one man who’s preparing to take the famous video game series and bring it to the big screen. This is especially the case, given his success with crime-related dramas.

Last week, Fif hinted at some sort of project with Rockstar. The rapper shared a photo of GTA: Vice City logo and hinted that something big was in the works. “I will explain this later, GLG GreenLight Gang this shit bigger than Power trust me. Boom #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi,” he wrote. Despite blatantly showing off the Vice City logo, many believed he was helping with the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

50 Cent Announces “Vice City” Show

According to Deadline, 50 Cent is currently developing a new show with the working title Vice City for Paramount+. The rapper’s G-Unit Film & Television, Lionsgate, and Paramount Television Productions are working together to produce the show. The upcoming series is an original production from seasoned vets, including two Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts alumni. Darnell Metayer and Josh Peters will work as writers and executive producers for the show. While Chad Stahhelski, who worked on the John Wick franchise, will also be an EP.

The story will take place in the mid-80s after three friends return home after being dishonorably discharged from the military due to their involvement in the Iran Contra scandal. “The three friends partner with a mysterious Colombian immigrant, uniting their financial needs and criminal ambitions to form a heist crew,” Deadline reports of the plot. “Fueled by the need for American green, they traverse a violent and dangerous path in pursuit of the American Dream.” 50 expressed his excitement on Instagram, writing, “From the director of John Wick Chad Stahelski & ya Boy 50 VICE CITY 🔥GLG🚦💣BOOM💨I don’t miss.” Check Fif’s post above and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

50 Cent Defends Shawn Hemp Following Felony Drive-By Shooting Arrest

The news about Shawn Kemp has earned a reaction from just about everyone, including 50 Cent. Following Kemp’s Wednesday night arrest and the footage that emerged afterward, the Internet erupted with opinions, memes, and general reactions. However, 50 Cent’s response to the arrest of Shawn Kemp was less humorous. The Power EP shared a headline surrounding Kemp’s felony arrest, urging people not to jump to conclusions. “I don’t know what’s going on here, but don’t judge this brother till all the facts come out,” 50 Cent wrote on Instagram.

Fif’s post earned a few reactions from his peers in the rap world. Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, CEO of Top Dawg Entertainment, shared a flurry of laughing emojis. “@50cent the NBA got some real shooters out there,” he wrote. Meanwhile, Fat Joe left five laughing emojis at the bottom of the page. Many fans also left comments comparing Kemp’s situation to Ja Morant, who the Grizzlies confirmed would be away from the team for at least four more games following his Instagram Live debacle

Shawn Kemp Involved In Alleged Drive-By

Police booked Shawn Kemp on Wednesday afternoon around 2 p.m. after reports of gunfire at the Tacoma Mall. The former Sonics player was taken into the Pierce County jail on a felony drive-by charge and no bail has been set yet. Police said they responded to a call after gunshots were fired between the occupants of two different vehicles. They said one individual, who they initially described as a 53-year-old, fired shots at the other vehicle before the alleged victims fled the scene. Police also recovered a gun on the scene.

Around the time of his arrest, footage of the altercation emerged online. A man in a red jacket appears to be arguing with a man in the video. At this point, the individual in the red jacket tries to pull away from them. Another video appeared to show a man raising his arm before alleged gunshots rang out. We’ll keep you posted on any more updates surrounding Kemp’s case. Check out 50 Cent’s comments on Kemp’s situation above and sound off in the comments with your thoughts.

50 Cent Reacts To BET’s Debra Lee Admitting To Affair Network’s Founder: “Must Got That WAP”

Once again, 50 Cent doesn’t miss a viral moment. The hitmaker is known for trolling his fellow celebrities when questionable news floats about, and this time, he’s aiming at Debra Lee. BET’s former CEO has penned an autobiography, I Am Debra Lee, and in it, she admits to having an affair with the network’s founder, Bob Johnson. Both parties were married at the time. However, Lee also stated that once she wanted to break things off, Johnson held it over her head and often threatened to fire her.

Fif caught wind of the news and reshared screenshots of articles to his Instagram page. “You would not believe what goes on behind the scenes,” he wrote in the caption of one post. Another mentioned that Lee “went from a legal clerk to the head of the BET empire.” 50 Cent added, “Wow Deb must got that WAP😆,He gave her the whole sh*t, here you run it bae ! LOL.”

Debra Lee Accuses Bob Johnson Of Harassment

This week, Lee caught up with Good Morning America to detail her past relationship with Johnson. “I wanted to tell that story because power dynamics are so important in a relationship, especially if you’re having a relationship with someone you work for,” she said. “We all know the potential pitfalls. I worked for Bob Johnson for ten years before we had a personal, romantic relationship. He was a mentor, and he pushed me, and he was responsible for a lot of my success. We did have a relationship while we were both married, we ended up both divorced, and then people knew about the relationship. The company knew. We started going places together.”

“The downfall of a relationship like that is if you want to get out of it, and that’s a part where it came, and I wanted to break up,” she further shared. “I saw it wasn’t a long-term relationship, and my job and my career were held over my head. It was like, ‘Well, if you want to break up with me, then you can leave tomorrow.’ And that was 20 years into my career at BET, so I would have lost everything.”

A Controversial History

In an interview with The Washington Post, Lee explained how the Me Too movement helped her reassess her experience. “That’s very much sexual harassment, but it’s a different kind of sexual harassment,” she said. “I wanted young women to know that if you’re in a relationship that’s uneven in terms of the power structure, that it can turn abusive.”
