Lil Tecca Says He Wants To Make A Video Game Like “Grand Theft Auto”

Lil Tecca says he wants to make a video game similar to Grand Theft Auto, in which players can interact with any NPC they find on the map. He explained his idea, among various other plans for the new year, during an interview with XXL. The “Ransom” rapper says he also wants to start acting classes and get into film and television.

“After this album, get into film. I want to direct a TV show,” he said. “I’ma start writing up dialogue for that and a timeline. I want to start doing acting classes. I want to create a video game where you could walk up to an NPC and become friends with ’em and be like, ‘Yo, what’s up? Let’s go to the store. Let’s do some crazy sh*t.’ Kind of like Grand Theft Auto, but you could talk to everyone that’s walking around like, they’re not just dormant.”

Rockstar Games finally unveiled the long-awaited first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 in December. The game is expected to follow a character named Lucia and her male partner. It releases in 2025 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Elsewhere in the interview, Tecca discussed his latest album, TEC, which he dropped back in September. He explained that his goal with the project was to address “more personal topics.” “I kind of wanted to talk about more personal topics this time around to give a little bit more context to who I am, where I’m from and where I plan on being in the next two years. So, besides the sonics, it was a little bit more personal than other projects,” he said. The interview comes as Tecca gears up for a U.S. and European tour in 2024. “Grand Theft Auto VI” Trailer: 5 Biggest Reveals

Rockstar Games has finally released the first look teaser trailer for the long awaited Grand Theft Auto VI. The game, which has been in development for a full decade, is set to take place in the fictional Florida locale of Vice City. From the first look, there seems to be plenty of oceanfront insanity for gamers to explore. With only 90 seconds of footage to analyze, fans of the GTA franchise have already begun performing a deep dive into the big reveals scattered throughout the teaser. Here are 5 of the biggest hints regarding what’s to come with the flagship franchise’s upcoming outing.

Read More:

5. Play As A Female Protagonist

Rumors have been circulating that Grand Theft Auto VI may feature a playable female character for some time now. The first teaser trailer seemingly reveals this to be true by introducing Lucia. Lucia looks to be engaged in a series of Bonnie and Clyde-style robberies with her male partner Jason. While gamers initially had negative reactions to the rumor of a female main character, the trailer seems to have gotten overwhelmingly positive responses from fans. Several GTA fans have even taken to social media to joke about the realities of playing as a woman in the mean streets of Vice City, and what that entails for style and gameplay options.

4. Vehicles For The Next Generation

In addition to a female lead, the trailer features a host of flashy classic cars. Vice City is rich with residents and visitors flexing their cash, and their hip tricked-out rides are no exception. Eagle-eyed viewers were able to catch glimpses of Porsches, Rolls Royces, and Pegassi Aventadors. Other interesting rides include boats, motorcycles, and even an airboat for cruising through the swamp. While each of these rides only received a moment in the spotlight, fans have already taken note. Soon enough we’ll be able to see if Grand Theft Auto VI truly lives up to its name by hot-wiring, repainting, and re-homing some of the finest rides available.

3. Alligators Are Going To Be A Problem

Grand Theft Auto VI‘s first trailer contains several shots of Florida wildlife invading public spaces. Previous installments of the series saw players taking on mountain lions, bears, and violent domestic dogs. With Rockstar’s latest outing, Red Dead Redemption 2, the game studio put a great deal of effort into adding grizzly bears, snakes, and many other animal assets, meaning the gators in GTA have the potential to be as violent and ever-present as any common gang banger.

2. Social Media Will Be A Focus

Games within the Grand Theft Auto franchise have always served as a satirical mirror to the ills of real life. Now, with social media being such a massive part of our day-to-day lives, it should come as no surprise that it will play a substantial role in Grand Theft Auto VI. When GTA 5 premiered back in 2013, it featured a mission that saw the player taking down a Facebook-style social media entity for political purposes, mirroring Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg’s pull in the political sphere. Now that TikTok has become the predominant app among young people, the trailer for GTA 6 has taken care to include plenty of shots replicating the vertical UI.

1. We’ll Have To Wait Until 2025 For The Full Game

Despite the long wait, it looks like Rockstar isn’t quite finished tweaking the fine details in Grand Theft Auto VI just yet. Fans were excited at the thought of a 2024 release date after waiting for more than a decade to play the game, but the trailer revealed a tentative date of 2025. Of course, more trailers and promotional material are sure to surface online throughout 2024. The build-up to GTA 6 has only just begun.

It Turns Out 50 Cent’s ‘Grand Theft Auto’ Teaser Was On The Nose But Not Quite What It Seemed

Earlier this month, 50 Cent shared an image from the game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and wrote, “I will explain this later, GLG GreenLight Gang this sh*t bigger than Power trust me. Boom.” Naturally, this had people thinking that he was teasing some sort of involvement with the GTA franchise, perhaps in the highly anticipated sixth mainline game in the series. Now, though, we know what the post was really about: A new show that has a current working title of Vice City.

Deadline reports that Paramount+ is developing the show from Lionsgate Television, Paramount Television Studios, and G-Unit Film & Television. The publication’s summary of the show reads:

Vice City follows three friends, and former soldiers, who return to their home city of Miami in the mid-’80s after being dishonorably discharged from the military for their involvement in the Iran Contra scandal. Disgraced, displaced, and forgotten by the country they served and with no good job prospects, the three friends partner with a mysterious Colombian immigrant, uniting their financial needs and criminal ambitions to form a heist crew. Fueled by the need for American green, they traverse a violent and dangerous path in pursuit of the American Dream.”

The show is written and executive produced by Darnell Metayer and Josh Peters (both known for their work on Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts), while Chad Stahelski (of the John Wick franchise) will serve as executive producer/director.

Dr. Dre’s ‘Grand Theft Auto Online’ Missions Are Providing Players With Significant, Limited Time Prizes

Yesterday (March 2), Rockstar Games announced the new Grand Theft Auto Online event. Through March 8, users now have the chance to earn “even more lucrative” rewards in all of the missions that feature Dr. Dre.

According to NME, “the event will offer double in-game cash and RP rewards for completing F. Clinton & Partner’s Security Contract missions.” The publication also notes that “finishing Payphone Hits for Franklin” will earn fans more money.

Finally, anybody who simply logs on to GTA Online before the set date will receive a free White DJ Pooh Tee.

Last December, Rockstar Games unveiled The Contract expansion — which included the rapper’s new music on the soundtrack, given it serves as a direct tie-in to the game. Players have to help him track down his stolen music.

“Dr. Dre’s stolen phone is the talk of the town. Word is the device is loaded with never-before-heard music,” the company posted on social media. “Tracking it down before it leaks could make or break your new “celebrity solutions Agency” — and you’ll be the one getting your hands dirty.”

In other recent news within the Grand Theft Auto realm, 50 Cent hinted on social media that he might have some possible involvement in the forthcoming game — so there’s plenty happening for players to be excited for.

50 Cent Used A ‘Grand Theft Auto Vice City’ Picture To Cryptically Tease His Potential Game Involvement

50 Cent has video game fans talking after he posted a cryptic tweet with an image from Grand Theft Auto’s Vice City.

“I will explain this later, GLG GreenLight Gang this sh*t bigger than Power trust me. Boom #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi,” he captioned the post.

Because of this, there’s speculation that the rapper might play a role in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 game and fans are here for it.

“Everytime I see that Vice City image… just a flood of memories pour in! Whatever you got going on with this… I’m interested,” one wrote.

“50 you gotta explain it now! I just bought the rockstar games trilogy with Vice City. What is going on here. And yes I’m gon buy it again,” another added.

According to NME, early footage of GTA 6 was leaked online previously — prompting an arrest to be made by British police. The game franchise’s publisher, Take Two, noted that despite that happening, it won’t affect development.

“With regards to the leak, it was terribly unfortunate, and we take those sorts of incidents very seriously indeed,” Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick said in November. “There’s no evidence that any material assets were taken, which is a good thing, and certainly the leak won’t have any influence on development or anything of the sort.”

‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ Reveals Details on New Female Protagonist Character

GTA VI Grand Theft Auto 6

The next installment of the Grand Theft Auto games will feature a female lead and less controversial humor.  Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature its first ever leading lady, who will be Latina as part of a main duo inspired by the infamous Bonnie and Clyde.

The game’s developers, Rockstar Games, are also reportedly planning on cutting down on the amount of racist or misogynistic jokes.  A report released by Rockstar Games said they are being cautious to not “punch down” on certain minority groups, according to Bloomberg.

The Grand Theft games have often gained controversy for their use of violent and explicit content, and many fans have taken to the internet to express their displeasure with the changes.

The game’s development has been slow going, and a release date for GTA VI  is expected sometime after 2024.

‘GTA Online’ Has A New Story Featuring Exclusive Music From Dr. Dre

When Grand Theft Auto V was first released back in 2013, it set records as one of the best-selling media franchises ever. That said, nobody expected the game to last as long as it has. GTA V is just as popular now as it was back in 2013 and a huge reason for that is the game’s online mode, GTA Online. The concept was pretty simple: give players the opportunity to explore the fictional city of Los Santos in a sandbox environment while having a few missions they can play every once in a while.

The results of that simple idea turned GTA V into the most profitable piece of media ever made and GTA Online has people still logging on to play it all these years later. So it’s no surprise to see that the developers over at Rockstar are still finding new ways to support the game. Their latest update sees GTA Online bring back a GTA V favorite, Franklin, in a new set of story missions. Not only that, but these new missions are going to feature Dr. Dre as himself in the game. Rockstar is also telling us that this story will feature new exclusive music from Dre himself in the game. Via Rockstar Newswire:

“Get ready for a wild and hilarious ride through Los Santos, from the mean streets of Franklin’s old neighborhood to the hottest parties in the city, from debaucherous mansions to the offices of the FIB and everywhere in between as you join Franklin, expert hacker Imani, Chop the Dog, and crew to secure Dr. Dre’s precious tracks and return them to their rightful owner.

Stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire in the coming days for more info on The Contract, arriving December 15 to GTA Online — including details of an eclectic new radio station from some very special guest hosts, huge first-of-their-kind updates to existing radio stations including a ton of new and unreleased exclusive tracks from Dr. Dre and a heavy-hitting line-up of artists, plus additional opportunities for agency work including choice hits for players willing to get their hands dirty, plus new weapons, vehicles, and much more.”

A while back, Snoop Dogg revealed that Dre was working on new music for Grand Theft Auto. While he didn’t clarify what GTA game that was, it seems more than likely that he was referring to this upcoming GTA Online update.

This is all really exciting news. GTA fans have to be excited to see Franklin back in the fold after going so long without seeing him and we get new music from Dr. Dre on top of that. For anyone that’s big into GTA Online, this is going to be a must play update.

The Weeknd Credits ‘Grand Theft Auto: Vice City’ For His ’80s Music Influence

Billboard recently declared that The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” is the top song in the long history of their storied Hot 100 chart. The song is heavily inspired by synth-forward ’80s music, and in a new Billboard interview pegged to the Hot 100 news, The Weeknd gave credit to the 2002 video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for fostering in him an interest in ’80s music.

In the piece, co-producer Max Martin notes of the song, “Abel came with the vision of what the song should be, which was a very different tempo and vibe than what is usually done. He took a risk, and that was very impressive to us. We all felt this song was very special even early on in the process.” The Weeknd then added, “GTA: Vice City really opened my eyes to a lot of ’80s music, so there was a nostalgia for when I was a kid playing video games and listening to Hall & Oates and Michael Jackson while driving through the city.”

The Grand Theft Auto games are well known for their soundtracks, which players experience through in-game radio stations. Vice City has nine stations and they all cycle through their own playlists of about 15 songs each (except for the one station that doesn’t play music). Since the game is set in 1986, all of the songs included are from that year or earlier. Hall & Oates has one song in the game, “Out Of Touch,” while Jackson has two: “Billie Jean” and “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’.”
