310Babii Drops Sophomore Album “310Degrees”

Rising Inglewood rapper 310Babii unloaded his latest album, 310Degrees. The 18-year-old has been earning some buzz online thanks in part to his 2023 viral hit, “Soak City.” The track earned him his first spot on the Billboard Hot 100 (peaking at #53) as well as a platinum certification. He also had the first major festival performance of his career, delivering a set at Rolling Loud Cali in March. Additionally, he performed “Soak City” on the red carpet at the BET Awards. And now, he’s back with his sophomore album, after releasing his debut album Nights & Weekends earlier this year.

310Degrees features a lengthy guest list. Roy Woods makes multiple appearances. OhGeesy, BlueBucksClan, Luh Tyler, Saweetie, and others round out the list. 310Babii blends familiar sounds from across popular hip-hop, but his California upbringing cuts through everything else and it is still a West Coast album at its core. At times, clear inspiration from contemporary California rappers shines through, including YG and Larry June. The album features some witty bars and upbeat production good for driving around to or dancing to. As 310Babii continues to work towards solidifying himself among the hottest prospects California has to offer, his growth is felt on his latest project, which clocks in at just under 30 minutes. Stream 310Degrees below and check out the interview HNHH did with 310Babii last December as well.

310babii Delivers Another Party Anthem With “That’s It”

310babii might be pretty new to the professional rap game, but he’s carving a nice niche for himself already. The California rapper knows how to craft fun party tracks that are sure to get club-goers on the dancefloor. We aren’t Nostradamus, but we probably should have saw his abilities to do this sooner because his debut single “soak city (do it)” was an instant hit. Over a year later, the record still ranks amongst the most popular on the Spotify platform with over 167,000,000 streams. Now, 310babii is looking to sprinkle a little bit more of that magic onto his newest track, “that’s it”.

It’s also the latest single for his next project, 310degrees, which is due next Friday, October 4. So far, we have gotten five of the 12 songs, so hopefully this will be the last one to be shared. Other tasters include “pink whitney”, “rock your hips” with OHGEESY and BlueBucksClan, it’s remix with Saweetie, and “forward back”. On “that’s it”, you are getting a track that was made for the ladies out there looking to get loose. “At this point, the h*es know what to do / Way too many hotties, I don’t know who to choose
She heard I got pape’, now the b**** tryna freak mе (Ayy) / If she hot and got a wet t*at, she can hit mе
“. Also like his past tracks, 310babii brings that West Coast bounce and couples it with some bell loops. Give it a try below with the link to the music video.

Pretty b**** doin’ lashes (Baow)
I got a problem, bae, I like to smack a**es (Uh-huh)

310babii Recruits Saweetie For Alternate Version Of Smash Hit “Rock Your Hips”

310babii is continuing to build on the success of his viral single “soak city”. The Inglewood, California native has definitely put any and all one-hit wonder claims to shame, especially since dropping other tracks like “pink whitney”, the “soak city” remix with OhGeesy & BlueBucksClan, and now “rock your hips”. The latter is one of his 2024 singles, as well as one of the lead off tracks for his February 23 LP, nights and weekends. The project went on to feature multiple California natives such as Kalan.FrFr, 03 Greedo, Tyga, Blueface, and more. Now, that West Coast collaboration portfolio is growing for 310babii with the release of the “rock your hips” remake with Saweetie.

The 18-year-old didn’t stop there, though. He dropped this track with several other renditions of this remix. You can also bump “sped up”, “slowed down”, “instrumental”, and a clean version. The “rock your hips” collab also has a fun and quirky music video, with 310babii learning how to play golf. His coach instructs that he needs to “rock your hips like Shakira” to get a good swing off the tee box. When he does this, he gets a hole and one immediately. There’s some choreography during Saweetie’s part which could led to a dance craze on TikTok. If you’re looking for fun summer song to bump in the whip or at outdoor parties, then “rock your hips” is for you. You can check out the remix with Saweetie with the music video link below.

Here Are 10 More Artists Who Could Have Been 2024 ‘XXL’ Freshmen

XXL announced its 2024 Freshman class today including standouts like Hunxho, Lay Bankz, Maiya The Don, That Mexican OT, and more. They’re all future stars in the making, but here are 10 more rappers who shouldn’t be overlooked.

310Babii

The Southern California rapper’s breakout single “Soak City” continues to gain momentum, but besides that, he just received the biggest co-sign someone from his city can get: Performing at Kendrick Lamar’s Juneteenth Pop Out concert as a special guest of Mustard.

Anycia

Thanks to Latto teaming up with her on “Back Outside” and the release of her mixtape Princess Pop That, Anycia’s star is on the rise. We’ve also got a collab with JID to look forward to.

Connie Diiamond

While the Bronx native is far from a “Freshman” in the sense of “just starting out” as she kicked off her career at just 14 years old, she’s started to gain more traction in recent years, particularly with her song “Ghetto & Ratchet.”

Flyana Boss

You either love them or hate them (and if it’s the latter, keep it to yourself, please, for your own good), but you know them and you’ve definitely seen them sprinting through just about every notable building in LA. 2023 was a standout year for the Dallas/Detroit duo, and with their debut album still in the works, they certainly have another one coming down the pike.

Gloss Up

Her buddy GloRilla was already featured in the coveted roundup, so why not join her and collaborator Sexyy Red in glowing up via the XXL Freshman list? With underground hits like “Come Here” and “Ride Home” she’s more than qualified.

Karrahbooo

Another Atlanta standout with a big-name co-sign, Karrahbooo is the clear star of Lil Yachty’s Concrete Boys clique, but was already building a steady buzz even before she was officially signed to his label.

Kenny Mason

Kenny got plenty of attention in 2022 when he and J. Cole teamed up on Dreamville‘s compilation cut “Stick” and JID’s “Dance Now,” and since then, his string of solid EPs, 3, 6, and Highway 9 have firmly established him as a talent to watch.

Ray Vaughn

The future of Top Dawg Entertainment might have seemed precarious with the departure of Kendrick Lamar and Reason, but Long Beach native Ray Vaughn’s nonstop stream of hard-hitting singles have shown he’s got the talent and the motivation to put the West Coast label on his back.

Remble

If it seems like there might be a bit of a Los Angeles bias here… Duh. You think a Compton native wouldn’t try to counterbalance the Northeast bias exhibited by the music journalism business for the past six decades? Anyway, Remble has the most unique and charismatic flow to crop up in years, he’s had the big-name co-signs to boost his momentum, and he was also featured in Kendrick’s Ken & Friends show, exposing him to a national audience.

Teezo Touchdown

Yes, he’s a little beyond the strictest definition of a “Freshman,” but that’s never stopped XXL from including an artist on their storied annual feature, so hey, I’m putting him in mine. If he’s not still in the “making” phase of stardom, there’s still plenty of room between him and his ceiling.

Tyga & 310babii Collide On Bouncy Single “Uh Huh”

Tyga is staying hot as he drops a club-ready track with 310babii, “Uh Huh”. This is now the California veteran’s third solo release of the year, following “Sensei” and “Hello B*tch”. The latter is taking off, raking in about 2.2 million views on YouTube in two weeks. Part of the reason it is doing so well is the instrumental and the sample that it works in. Lil Jon’s classic “Couldn’t Be A Better Playa” is used to great effect, modernizing the eerie beat for the youth. In a similar way to “Hello B*tch”, Tyga is putting people on to something or someone many people might not know. 310babii is relatively new to the rap game, with the Inglewood, California native blowing up just last year.

The song to know is “soak city”, which has an equally popular alternate all-West Coast version. Tyga makes an appearance, along with Blueface, OHGEESY, and the BlueBucksClan. Subsequently, that seems to be where him and 310 begun to develop some synergy. Now, Tyga has him one of his tracks, that being “Uh Huh”. Also like the last single, this one is also ready for the night club atmosphere. Both rappers are extremely braggadocious, as per usual, and the instrumental is also pretty ear-grabbing. The quick piano keys and heavy bass play really nice together. Tyga and 310 do find pockets very quickly and they are able to keep things engaging throughout the short but punchy run time. There is a chance that this track, along with the other two we mentioned, do have some chance of making an album this year. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but if Tyga proceeds in that manner he has a solid record on his hands.

Who Is 310Babii? Learn About The ‘Soak City (Do It)’ Rapper

On the latest edition of the Billboard Hot 100 chart released today, “Soak City (Do It),” by Inglewood rapper 310Babii moved up five positions to land at No. 71 in its 17th week on the chart. It’s an impressive showing for the Nights And Weekends rapper, who has become increasingly well-known thanks to his collaborations with rappers like Luh Tyler and Kalan.FrFr. So, who is 310Babii and why is he on the verge of blowing up at just 17 years old?

As he told XXL‘s “The Break” back in November, the sudden success of “Soak City” wasn’t something he planned, but it was something he worked for. The teen, who was a fan of Chief Keef, began rapping in seventh grade, recording songs on his phone via BandLab. He continued recording consistently until June of last year (his senior year of high school), when his classmates helped the then-brand new “Soak City” go viral with a TikTok challenge that launched it into the stratosphere, where it caught the notice of NFL stars like Travis Kelce and Rashid Shaheed. 310Babii capitalized with the release of his debut mixtape, Lottery Pick, and a remix of the song featuring fellow Los Angeles breakouts “Soak City” featuring BlueBucksClan, Blueface, OhGeesy, and Tyga.

This past weekend saw the culmination of his rise to date as he joined Blxst onstage to perform the song during the “Chosen” rapper’s Coachella set. He’s now in contention for XXL‘s 2024 Freshman class, with a gold record to his name.

Wiz Khalifa Presents His Take On 310babii’s Viral Hit “Soak City” With A Freestyle

Freestyles have been a major part of hip-hop’s history. While they are mainly lyrical exercises and are not really viewed as songs per se, they can feel that way sometimes. That has been the case for Wiz Khalifa as of late. The always-high rapper with roots in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, recently put out a little vibe over Veeze’s “Not A Drill.” What Wiz has been doing as of late is taking up-and-coming rappers’ big hits and bringing his bars to the table. Veeze inevitably caught wind of the remix and he was extremely thankful for the shout-out from the veteran.

Wiz posted on his Instagram that he had uploaded it to YouTube last week and Veeze commented on it. “Mad love big bro 🔥🗣🗣🗣🗣❤” Fans of Khalifa are enjoying that one because of the throwback vibes he is giving off in his rap style. It is understandable for sure, as that was when he was at the peak of his powers, back in the early 2010 decade.

Listen To “Soak City Freestyle” By Wiz Khalifa

Now, the 36-year-old is back to rap over 310babii’s viral “Soak City.” The single dropped back in the summer of 2023. But, lately, the song has been picking up steam. On Spotify, the track has over 56 million streams. It has helped 310 gain a bit of a following and he currently has over 5.5 million monthly listeners. Wiz brings a rollercoaster-like flow that goes up and down and just sounds good. It fits the fast-paced piano beat to a tee and it may be the better of the two freestyles.
