Simone Biles Wins Historic Sixth Olympic Gold Medal In Women’s All-Around Final

Today, Simone Biles made history, winning her sixth Olympic gold medal in the gymnastics all-around final. She’s now the first American gymnast to do so. She narrowly defeated Rebeca Andrade of Brazil, who finished silver, and her teammate Suni Lee who finished bronze. The 27-year-old is now the oldest Olympics all-around champion since Maria Gorokhovskaya, who secured the title in 1952. Biles is also the third woman in history to win multiple gold medals in the all-around.

Following a mistake on uneven bars, she put on impressive balance beam and floor performances. While this put her above both Lee and Andrade, Biles admits that the mishap shook her confidence. According to her, she was “praying to every single God out there trying to refocus and recenter myself because that’s not the bars that I had been training.”

Simone Biles Celebrates Her Win

“I’m not the best bar swinger like Suni or Kaylia, but I can still swing some bars,” Biles also added. “I don’t want to compete with Rebeca no more. I’m tired. Like, she’s way too close. I’ve never had an athlete that close.” She celebrated the exciting win by debuting a silver goat necklace, symbolizing her undeniable GOAT status.

“My GOAT necklace is just kind of an ode, because the people love it and some people hate it,” she explained. “So, it’s like the best of both worlds. I was like, ‘OK, if it goes well, we’ll wear the GOAT necklace.’ I know people will go crazy over it but at the end of the day it is crazy that I am in the conversation of ‘Greatest of all athletes’ because I just still think, ‘I’m Simone Biles from Spring, Texas who loves to flip.’” What do you think of Simone Biles making history with her latest win? No. 1 Team USA Stan Flavor Flav Just Offered To Pay Olympic Discus Thrower Veronica Fraley’s Rent

Gone are the days when Flavor Flav was known only as a rapper. It’s actually ironic that he started out in Public Enemy, but he’s grown into one of the public’s most beloved celebrities. He’s a fervent Swiftie and Team USA’s biggest fan at the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympics. Flavor Flav already sponsors the US Olympic women’s water polo team, which he described as “bigger than me winning a Grammy,” but his commitment to supporting women’s sports didn’t end there.

On Thursday, August 1, US Olympic discus thrower Veronica Fraley posted on X (formerly Twitter), “I compete in the Olympic Games TOMORROW and can’t even pay my rent. My school only sent about 75% of my rent while they pay football players (who haven’t won anything [laugh-cry emoji) enough to buy new cars and houses [three thumbs-down emojis].”

Flavor Flav replied to the Vanderbilt University athlete, “I gotchu,,, DM me and I’ll send payment TODAY so you don’t have to worry bout it TOMORROW,,, and imma be rooting for ya tomorrow LETZ GO,!!!” He added, “Man of my word,!!! This is what I been saying and promoting with water polo,,, I can’t fix everything on my own,,, but right now I am.”

Alexis Ohanian, the Reddit co-founder and Serena Williams’ husband, also chipped in $7,760.

After her post blew up, Fraley posted a clarification: “Thanks for the supporting messages but I want to clarify my irritation isn’t with the school itself, mainly the rules that bar me from making the amount I’m WORTH as a collegiate athlete such as NIL which favors popularity over performance. that’s all I’m sayin. Wish me luck tm!”

Elsewhere in Paris, Flavor Flav has been spotted encouraging US men’s gymnastics bronze medalist Frederick Richard and still made time to reference Taylor Swift’s “August” on the first day of the month by writing on X, “It’s August here in Paris,,, and these Olympians be livin for the hope of it all.”

Oh Lord, Snoop Dogg’s Iced Out Goat Chain Has Resulted In A Hell Of A Lot Satanist Rumors

Everyone knows Snoop Dogg loves to keep his spirits high, with the help of one herbal remedy. But fans are convinced that he actually identifies as a Satanist in his worship observations. However, Snoop Dogg immediately slammed the accusation.

So where did the rumor start? In promotional images from the 2024 Paris Olympics, Snoop is seen rocking an iced out medallion, which people believe is a Baphomet.

“If you were on the fence about which side Snoop was on – he made it clear upon his appearance at the Satanic Olympics ritual. He wears Baphomet upon his heart,” penned one user.

In his Instagram Stories, the “Gin & Juice” rapper quickly put that rumor to bed. “I don’t know what y’all thought this was, but this is the goat,” he said. “I had this made because somebody told me I was the G.O.A.T. So I wanted to make me a goat chain. All that other sh*t y’all talking about, I don’t know what you all are talking about! This is the G.O.A.T. Greatest Of All Time!”

This certainly tracks considering the now-viral results from a Celebrity Family Feud trivia question.

First Doja Cat, now Snopp Dogg. Has satanism rumors become the new Illuminati membership conspiracy theory?

Megan Thee Stallion Celebrated Simone Biles’ Latest Gold Medal By Sharing A Video Of Biles Dancing To ‘Where Them Girls At’

Simone Biles posted a video of herself dancing to Megan Thee Stallion’s “Where Them Girls At” ahead of her Olympics performance, and Megan herself was all too happy to reshare the video after the US Olympic Gymnastics Team took home the gold medal — bringing Biles’ total to 38. In the video, Biles shows off her nails (“check”), hair (“check”), and makeup (“face pretty”) along with her star-spangled leotard. Megan, in reposting the video on Twitter (never going to call it “X”), added a trio of heart-eye emojis.

In addition to shooting a commercial with a horse to promote NBC’s Olympics coverage, Meg’s also showed off her patriotism by announcing that she’ll be performing at Kamala Harris’ upcoming campaign rally in Atlanta. With plans to “stream Harris’ speech on Facebook, YouTube and the FOX Local App” according to Fox 5 Atlanta, that could mean a chance for those of us not in The Big Peach to follow along.

“Where Them Girls At” is the fourth song from Meg’s new album, Megan, which dropped a little over a month ago on June 30 via Megan’s own independent imprint Hot Girl Productions with distribution through Warner. The song is hugely popular on TikTok, for exactly the reason that Biles used it in her video, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see her win spark a resurgence. You can hear it in full below.

Flava Flav Emerges as USA Women’s Water Polo Sponsor, Joins Jill Biden at the Paris Olympics

Flava Flav and Jill Biden cheer on US Women's Water Polo Team in Paris

Flava Flav has always been a man of many talents and ventures whether it is music, reality television, or business. And while nobody probably had Flav sponsoring the USA Women’s water polo team on their 2024 bingo card, that is exactly the case as the artist has emerged as playing a vital role in the team’s success and journey to the Olympics.

The story began in May when women’s water polo team member Maggie Steffens posted how most of the women work one (or more) full-time jobs in addition to practicing and competing in the sport. She commented how the women’s water polo team, like many of the less popular sports, relies on sponsors to pay for things like equipment, travel, and pool time.

Flav commented on her post, vowing that “as a girl dad and supporter of all women’s sports,” he would “personally sponsor you my girl,,, whatever you need,” promising that his manager would be in touch with her agent and vowing to “use all my relationships and resources to help all y’all even more. That’s a FLAVOR FLAV promise.”

The former Public Enemy artist indeed came through on his promise, donating an undisclosed amount of money and more importantly, serving as the team’s unofficial hype man, attending matches wearing a Team USA branded water polo cap and (of course) a similarly branded waterproof clock necklace. Joining him to cheer on the team was First Lady Jill Biden, who thanked him for his support of women’s sports.

On X, Flav shared a video of him embracing Biden and team members along with the caption:

“I love all the support Women’s Water Polo is getting,,, ya boy is so appreciative that the First Lady came to the First Game . THANK YOU @flotus Dr. Jill Biden for all the support of you and your family.”

In a statement to the Associated Press, Flav stated that “When I come out and I watch this water polo team … ‘USA! USA!’ Yo, I’m going to be the biggest hype man that they ever had in their life,” he told the AP on Friday. “I’m going to be bigger than any cheerleader that they had in their life. I’m going to cheer this team on, and I’m going to cheer this team into winning a gold medal.”

Gwen Stefani & Anderson .Paak Pen An Anthem For The Olympics With “Hello World”

Gwen Stefani and Anderson .Paak received a high honor from the International Olympic Committee and Coca-Cola. Both major corporations tasked these two musical superstars with creating a theme song for this year’s Games and the one’s to come after them. Also in the mix is singer, songwriter, and producer, Ryan Tedder. He has been behind his fair share of mega radio hits throughout his career, so his selection was a no-brainer. Together, Gwen Stefani, .Paak, and Tedder have come up with “Hello World – Song of The Olympics”. According to Billboard, Josh Burke, the global head of music and culture marketing at the Coca-Cola Company, explained why Tedder is a part of this record and the idea that came to be.

“We wanted a song with broad appeal that would resonate worldwide, an uplifting and bright song that would inspire everyday greatness among athletes and music fans. It was also important to us that we wouldn’t try to create a ‘brand’ song or ‘jingle’, and we’d have to give up some control, which is very difficult to do!”. Tedder was totally game for the collaboration, saying “The Games are an important way for all of us to come together and celebrate each other globally, and we wrote this song with that in mind. I grew up watching every Olympics since childhood, so this is a lifelong dream. I hope this song inspires and uplifts”.

Kevin Durant Hilariously Goes Back And Forth With Fans Over FIBA Rules

Every time the United States plays in an international basketball tournament, there are fans who want to see the NBA adopt some of the FIBA rules. FIBA rules are the standard in most other basketball leagues in the world, making the NBA rules unique in that regard. Kevin Durant is not one of those people.

On Sunday, Team USA defeated Serbia in a 110-84 rout. Kevin Durant led all scorers, finishing the game with 23 points. He ended the first half 8/8 from the field and 5/5 from 3-point land to finish with 21. He did not need to play much in the second half. The US took a 9-point lead into halftime that quickly ballooned to 22. The lead settled at 26, their margin of victory. During some downtime between their defeat of Serbia and their next game on Wednesday, Durant, a frequent social media user, took to X (formerly Twitter) to push back against some fans who wanted to see more international rules make their way to the American game.

Kevin Durant Responds To FIBA Rules vs. NBA Rules Debate

Kevin Durant is one of the most accomplished American basketball players around in international play. He’s won three Olympic gold medals in 2012, 2016, and 2020, and won gold at the 2010 FIBA World Cup. It is safe to say that he is very familiar with the differences between the international and American games. Since the NBA’s primary goal is to be an entertainment product, the rules are different to make games more enjoyable for fans. Moreover, things like defensive 3-second violations and goaltending are not rules in other leagues, but they are in the NBA. Fans often clamor for those rules to be done away with after watching international competition. Clearly, Durant does not share those sentiments.

Team USA are the favorites to win gold once again. However, the rest of the world has gotten more talented. Olympic host country France gave the US a difficult time during the gold medal game in Tokyo. This United States team is much better than the one that nearly finished with a silver medal three years ago. Durant, one of the greatest players of all time, would be great regardless of what the NBA rulebook looked like. It is always interesting to get his perspective on basketball topics, especially ones that are discussed as often among fans as “FIBA rules vs. NBA rules” is.

Beyonce Highlights Team USA’s Top Athletes In Grand Olympics Opening Ceremony Video: Watch

There are no other sporting events like the Olympics. Every four years, people from across the world get to celebrate their respective country and cheer on their homegrown athletes with hopes of nabbing tons of gold medals. However, it is also one of the few globally unifying events we have, which makes it just that much more special. From July 26 to August 11, we really get to watch the best athletes compete at the highest level, what’s more hype than that? If you’re a music fan, the opening ceremony might have been you’re favorite moment. Especially thanks to the incredibly epic video created by Beyonce for this year’s Olympics.

Queen Bey was one of a few high-profile musicians to help kick-off the games in style (Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, etc.). Instead of performing live though, Mrs. Carter put together a goosebump-inducing intro for all of Team USA. “We’ve got superstars and we’ve got legends. We’ve got big dreamers who fought their whole lives to get here. Who gave up everything for one shot, and made it”, Beyonce says. Throughout the video you’ll see shots of LeBron James, Simone Biles, Katie Ledecky, Caeleb Dressel, Sha’Carri Richardson, and more.

All the while, Beyonce is repping her home country with a stunning one-piece bathing suit dripped out in the colors of freedom. Additionally, a rendition of her song “YA YA” off of her Americana/country record, COWBOY CARTER, plays in the background. It gets you ready for some incredible action over these next 16 days and so does this message from the music icon. “America, give it up for Team USA, the very best of who we are. What a vision to behold. What a team to believe in. What a night to celebrate”.

What are your thoughts on Beyonce’s opening ceremony video for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics? Is this the best musical performance out of everyone, why or why not? The ‘Cowboy Carter’ Herself, Beyoncé, Introduces Team USA In The 2024 Paris Olympics Commercial

The 2024 Paris Olympics games have begun. From Snoop Dogg’s carrying of the torch to Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, and Gojira’s trending performances, cameos featuring musicians are in abundance.

But in typical fashion, Beyoncé surprised the world with a patriotic promotional video that nearly crashed the internet. Yesterday (July 26), while after everyone processed the dazzling opening ceremony, NBC Olympics & Paralympics dropped their Team USA introduction video lead by none other than the Cowboy Carter herself, Bey.

In the visual, Beyoncé dressed in fully customized Americana regalia fit for the now reigning rodeo queen as a reimagined version of her song “Ya Ya” soundtracked the moment.

Beyoncé’s entry into country music, often viewed as the most red-blooded American genre, wasn’t exactly appreciated at the time. Despite the tension from naysayers, the Houston native preserved and make musical history along the way. The true American way.

This complex dynamic of who is considered to be a proper representation of America made its way into the promotional clip as Beyoncé said: “These hopes and dreams. These superstars that represent us. The people of this big, bold, beautiful, complicated nation.”

Call it what you want, but this type of alignment couldn’t have been more divine.

Snoop Dogg And Pharrell Carry Olympic Torch Before Paris Games

Snoop Dogg and Pharrell Williams both carried Olympic torches Friday morning in the last leg of the 2024 relay. The relay, an Olympic tradition, ends with the lighting of the cauldron at the opening ceremonies, signifying the beginning of the Paris Games. More than two months after the Olympic flame was first lit in Greece, Snoop took his torch through a stretch of Seine-Saint-Denis in France. In a video of the scene, the legendary rapper waves to fans in attendance and dances while holding the torch.

“I look at this as a prestigious honor and something I truly respect,” Snoop Dogg previously told the Associated Press after he was asked to do the relay. “I would have never dreamed of nothing like this. I’m going to be on my best behavior. I’m going to be on my best athleticism. I’ll be able to breathe slow to walk fast and hold the torch with a smile on my face, because I realize how prestigious this event is.” Pharrell was the final bearer of the torch before the flame makes its way to the Olympic cauldron. He carried it to the top of the Basilica Cathedral of Saint-Denis.

For Snoop Dogg and Pharrell, they are two more celebrities who’ve had the honor of holding the Olympic torch. K-pop singer Jin held it earlier this month. Muhammad Ali, Magic Johnson, the Williams sisters, and others have held it in the past. The torch relay, which started with the 1936 Summer Olympics, spans multiple countries and people from everywhere in the world. It is viewed as a symbol of unity and friendship, becoming a lasting tradition during what is always a joyous time for the participating countries.

Snoop Dogg holding the torch is the latest example of what has been a successful year for the legend. His revived Death Row Records is building out its roster. Snoop introduced Charlie Bereal to fans on Wednesday, a signing that went over well with his audience. He announced Missionary, the Dr. Dre-produced spiritual successor to his debut album Doggystyle, was on the way. Snoop is among the most accomplished artists of all time. And now, he can call himself a former Olympic torch bearer as well.
