As the official technology and presenting partner, Samsung is poised to revolutionize the basketball experience for athletes and fans alike.

Unrivaled aims to redefine engagement by spotlighting its players’ unique stories and passions while delivering unparalleled access to fans. Samsung’s technology will also enhance athletic performance. The Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Watch will integrate into training programs, offering players precise performance metrics. Meanwhile, Galaxy tablets will deliver real-time data to coaches, enabling informed decisions to maximize team potential.

“We’re grateful for Samsung’s incredible support and deep understanding of Unrivaled’s mission to deliver the best possible experience for players and fans,” said Alex Bazzell, Unrivaled President. “Samsung is elevating Unrivaled and empowering players in the way we both believe they deserve, and their partnership speaks volumes to the innovative vision for women’s basketball we’re creating together.”

The collaboration underscores Samsung’s belief in sport’s unifying power, marking a significant milestone for the brand as it partners with properties driving change in culture and society. Unrivaled’s debut season begins January 17 in Miami, with games airing on TNT, truTV, and Max. Over eight weeks, 36 players across six teams will showcase a dynamic 3-on-3 style of play, marking a new era in women’s basketball and fan engagement.

Trump Blames Cali Gov. Gavin Newsome for Current Wildfires

Even in the face of tragedy, President-Elect Donald Trump is finger-pointing. Hitting Truth Social, Trump blamed California Gov. Gavin Newsome, disrespecting his name by calling him “Newscum,” for the wildfires.

“Governor Gavin Newscum refused to sign the water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excess rain and snow melt from the North, to flow daily into many parts of California, including the area that are currently burning in a virtually apocalyptic way,” Trump typed. “He wanted to protect an essentially worthless fish called a smelt, by giving it less water (it didn’t work!), but didn’t care about the people of California.

“Now the ultimate price is being paid. I will demand that this incompetent governor allow beautiful, clean, fresh water to FLOW INTO CALIFORNIA! He is the blame for this.”

Los Angeles County is engulfed in wildfires, with the largest blaze roaring through the Pacific Palisades. The result is tens of thousands of people under evacuation orders.

According to CNN, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass expects the wildfire conditions to “worsen” throughout Wednesday (Jan. 8) morning. Gov. Gavin Newsome has declared a state of emergency in the area.

Scenes across the county highlight abandoned cars in between Malibu and Santa Monica, which were eventually bulldozed so emergency personnel could make it to combat the fire.

The Palisades fire is burning through areas comparable to five football fields a minute and has already scorched 2,9000 acres. The area is now under an emergency, comparing the winds to a “tornado.”

Fires are also present in the Hurst area, north of the San Fernando Valley, and another in Altadena, dubbed the Eaton fire, eviscerating 1,000 acres in hours.

Adding to the complication, over 200,000 homes and buildings do not have power.

Off-duty firefighters are being asked to report their availability to fight the fire. The call for assistance has not been conducted in this manner in two decades. Margaret Stewart, a spokesperson for the department, said, “I’ve got 19 years on and this is the first one that I’ve been involved in. It’s not something that we have to do very often.”

The origin of the fires was aided by a dry “rainy season,” designed explicitly as December through March. There has only been .01 of an inch of rain in LA since Dec. 1. The dry land and exceptionally high winds have assisted in fueling the fire.

SOURCE SPORTS: Bo Nix, Trey Hendrickson, Cameron Dicker Named AFC Players of the Week for Week 18

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson, and Los Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker have been named the AFC Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Players of the Week for Week 18 (January 4-5).

Bo Nix (Offense)
Nix delivered a remarkable performance in Denver’s 38-0 win against the Chiefs, completing 26 of 29 pass attempts (89.7 percent) for 321 yards and four touchdowns. His 152.4 passer rating was the highest of any quarterback in Week 18, helping the Broncos secure their first postseason berth since 2015. Nix became the first rookie quarterback in NFL history to complete 89.7 percent of passes in a game with a minimum of 25 attempts. This marks his second Offensive Player of the Week award.

Trey Hendrickson (Defense)
Hendrickson put up a dominant showing with 5 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and a pass defensed in Cincinnati’s 19-17 win over Pittsburgh. His 17.5 sacks this season lead the NFL, marking his second consecutive year with that total. Hendrickson earns his third Defensive Player of the Week award, becoming the first former Florida Atlantic player to win three or more honors.

Cameron Dicker (Special Teams)
Dicker helped the Chargers to a 34-20 victory over Las Vegas by converting four field goals, including a 49-yarder, and adding two extra points. His 14 points tied him for the most by any kicker in Week 18, marking his second Player of the Week award this season. Dicker is the fourth former University of Texas player to earn four or more Special Teams Player of the Week awards.
