Last week, Chance the Rapper hosted an immersive multi-sensory art experience, Writings on the Wall, in New Orleans, offering fans a unique and immersive experience to preview his new unreleased music. Held in the Black-owned art space StudioBe, the event allowed fans to connect with the music and lyrics on a profound level. Each attendee received their own headphones and oversized bean bag for a private listening experience, while lyrics and videos for 12 unheard Chance songs were projected on the walls to accompany each record. This unique experience is far from a silent disco as the floors were shaken with four SRX918S 2,500-watt 18-inch subwoofers, enabling attendees to physically feel the music. Phones were not allowed, encouraging full presence. Fans were also given notebooks to jot down thoughts and questions, followed by a live Q&A with Chance, who shared insights about the new tracks.

In addition to the listening session, the event featured artwork from previous releases, lyrics, and videos, creating a comprehensive and immersive artistic environment. This multi-sensory approach provided attendees with a deeper connection to Chance’s music and artistic vision. Adding to the evening’s excitement, legendary rapper Juvenile attended the event, further elevating the experience. In a video captured, Juvenile praised Chance for the innovative concept, highlighting the respect and admiration Chance commands within the hip-hop community.

Following the success of several Writings on the Wall events around the country, including Chicago and Atlanta, Chance the Rapper is thrilled to announce that it will also be coming to Washington, D.C., on August 8th at an undisclosed location. Fans in D.C. can look forward to the same intimate and engaging experience. More details and dates in new cities to be revealed soon.

Chance has been carefully curating all aspects of his Star Line project, alongside its interdisciplinary companion, Star Line Gallery. This unique project seamlessly blends the realms of art, music, and cinematography, presenting a collection of collaborative works with esteemed fine artists from The Continent and The Diaspora. The resulting pieces redefine the notion of ‘album art’ and are compelling conversations and meditations on Black life. Star Line Gallery works “Child of God” (collaboration with Gabonese artist and painter Naïla Opiangah), “A Bar About A Bar” (collaboration with Chicago-based painter Nikko Washington and filmmaker Troy Gueno), “The Highs & The Lows” feat. Joey Bada$$ (collaboration with Gabonese photographer Yannis Davy Guibinga), and “YAH Know” (collaboration with Chicago-based visual artist Mía Lee) have been showcased at art institutions around the world including Expo Chicago, Art Basel, Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), The Art Institute of Chicago, and Los Angeles’ Museum Of Contemporary Art (MOCA).

Gunna Drops Visuals For “One Of Wun”

Gunna Wunna

oday, four-time Grammy Award-nominated, multi-platinum Atlanta rap superstar Gunna unveiled the official music video for his title track “One of Wun,” directed by Spike Jordan and filmed at the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, GA.

The visual places Gunna in a different context altogether. This time around, he assumes the dual-role of two very different coaches competing against one another. Each of his characters masterminds strategy in his own way. One coach quietly orchestrates plays like chess moves, methodically drawing out his vision for victory in the locker room. The other coach takes over the court, commanding the action from the sidelines with authority and bombast. The game intensifies with a championship on the line, but coach Gunna remains calm.

Not to mention, Atlanta’s own DJ Greg Street of V-103 notably cameos in the clip too. Other cast includes Tyran Stokes of Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, CA (#1 ranked player class of 2026), Brandon McCoy Jr. of St. John Bosco in Bellflower, CA (#2 ranked player class of 2026), Grant Nelson of Alabama University Men’s Basketball, Isaiah Elohim of University Southern California Men’s Basketball, comedian and former pro football player Lou Young, and comedian Navv GreeneOTE players are Parker Robinson (Rising Junior), Jayden Wilkins (Rising Sophomore), and Romelo Hill (Rising Junior).

Pharrell Campaigns To Bring Back Arts Competition At Summer Olympics

Pharrell was one of the many celebrities who attended the Louis Vutton party during the Summer Olympics. The artist’s inclusion was a no brainer, given his role as the brand’s creative director. One thing that attendees didn’t expect, though, was Pharrell campaigning to change the Olympic games. Or rather, to change them back to how they used to be. During the event, the multi-talented entertainer said that the arts competition should be restored.

Pharrell spoke on the abandoned competition during the aforementioned LV party. “We get to remind people that at one point, the Olympics actually had the arts as a section that ran all these competitions,” he explained. Sculpture, architecture, visual arts. The idea we get to put the arts back in….Why not take this moment to bring awareness?” The arts competition that Pharrell references was introduced back in 1912. Apparently, five medals were awarded in the fields of music, painting, architecture, literature and sculpture. The arts competition was removed from the Olympics in 1948, however. An attempt to bring them back for the 1952 games proved unsuccessful.

Pharrell Wants To Encourage Younger Artists

Pharrell using his voice to promote the arts makes complete sense. He has done so for the bulk of his career. During a 2012 interview with Complex, the artist claimed that every facet of his career, whether it be music or fashion, allows him to express himself. It provides the ultimate challenge and the ultimate reward. “What’s music without fashion, you know,” he noted. “What is fashion without music? They’re all basically ways to express yourself. Musically you express yourself and fashion-wise you express yourself. Some people who are good at one thing and some people are great at all three.”

Pharrell is continuing to walk the walk in his career. Piece by Piece, the upcoming film about his life, is slated to close out the esteemed London Film Festival. The film is animated, and all of the characters will be depicted as LEGOs. Once more, the artist saw LEGO as metaphor for creating. “Building with LEGO bricks encourages us to follow our imagination,” he wrote in a statement. “Who would’ve thought that playing with these toys as a kid would evolve into a movie about my life. It’s proof that anyone else can do it too.”

Former U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump has shown his support for Bitcoin in a new and unexpected way. Speaking to over 3,000 attendees at the Bitcoin Conference on Saturday, Trump made his stance on the cryptocurrency crystal clear. Now, he’s taking things a step further by launching a line of Bitcoin-themed sneakers. Trump Sneakers, a brand under the Trump-owned website, recently listed a limited edition range of high-top sneakers priced at $499 per pair on pre-order. The bright orange version, limited to just 1,000 pairs, sold out quickly.

The Bitcoin-themed sneakers were added to the site shortly after Trump’s speech at the Nashville conference. He pledged to make significant changes to the SEC and establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve if elected.

Lin-Manuel Miranda Is Planning A Concept Album Inspired By Cult Classic Film ‘The Warriors’ And Fans Are Pretty Skeptical

Lin-Manuel Miranda has had a fascinating career arc. The playwright shot to stardom behind the runaway success of his historical hip-hop musical Hamilton, but then, fans quickly felt that the market was oversaturated after the cast was booked to perform on seemingly every late-night show and award show for a solid year (certain optics didn’t help either). Miranda moved onto other projects, but the more he did, it seemed, the more fans wished he’d do less.

That was the general sentiment on social media when Manuel announced his next project: a concept album inspired by the 1979 cult classic film, The Warriors. I must admit, I’ve been softer on Miranda than most — Hamilton is good, Miranda’s a decent technical rapper with legit hip-hop chops, and the Moana and Encanto soundtracks are leagues better than either Frozen — and I declared no longer than a week ago that the “Rap Concept Album Is Back,” and even I’m a little skeptical, albeit cautiously so.

If there’s anyone I’d trust to be able to pull it off, it would be Miranda. The album will feature a full cast, recounting the plot of the film, which follows a small band of New York City gangbangers as they fight their way back to their Coney Island stomping grounds from a meetup gone wrong in the Bronx. At the very least, it’s closer in historical context to the rise of rap music than the retelling of nation’s founding, as The Warriors and “Rapper’s Delight” were released within six months of each other (the former on February 9, 1979, the latter on August 2).

The album’s got some legit hip-hop bonafides behind it, too; it’s executive-produced by none other than Nas. Also, let’s be real; remake-mania has already come for The Warriors, which a lot of you only know because Rockstar made a video game about it, so not too much on my man Lin, alright?

Gunna Out-Coaches Himself To Lead A Young Basketball Team To A Championship In His ‘One Of Wun’ Video

In the video for the title track from Gunna‘s new album, One Of Wun, the Atlanta rapper takes on dual roles, playing both coaches in a high-stakes basketball game between two teams at the Overtime Elite youth basketball league arena. Each version of Gunna is a different coaching stereotype; one is cool, calm, and calculating, while the other is bombastic and demonstrative on the sideline.

Rather than playing out with one team losing and one winning, however, the split-screen video (directed by Spike Jordan) ends with both outcomes, playing on the chorus lyric, “Think all about how they want me to lose, but I’m W, due for a win.” In the end, Gunna gets to have his cake and eat it too, winning no matter what.

A whole slew of real-life rising star high schoolers appears in the video as themselves, including the #1 and #2 ranked players in the country, Tyran Stokes of Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, CA and Brandon McCoy Jr. of St. John Bosco in Bellflower, CA (respectively), and OTE players Parker Robinson, Jayden Wilkins, and Romelo Hill.

You can watch the video for Gunna’s “One Of Wun” above.

Is Offset The Father Of Cardi B’s Third Child?

After news broke of Cardi B’s impending divorce from Offset, fans can’t help but wonder if he’s the reason for Cardi’s recently revealed third pregnancy.

According to Page Six, which broke the news of the divorce, the couple has “grown apart,” per one source, which added, “They both have been trying to figure out what their future looks like for a while now. It’s not something that happened overnight… They’ve both been on the same page… They’ve grown apart, and that feeling has gotten stronger overtime. It’s become unavoidable.”

However, today, rather than addressing that news, Cardi posted a baby bump photo on Instagram. In the caption, she wrote, “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”

But that doesn’t give any information about whether Offset is the third child’s father, or whether Cardi found a new beau in the time since announcing that she has “been single for a while now.” She did admit that the two did sleep together since then, so it’s entirely possible that Offset is the father, and that they have agreed to co-parent while remaining split up.

Bianca Censori Puts Her Curves On Full Display In Sheer Nude Dress While Shopping In LA

Bianca Censori has been on a roll lately with her signature scandalous outfits, and her latest LA outing was no exception. Today, the Australian model was spotted doing some shopping in Beverly Hills and kept her look simple. Regardless, she turned heads, as her dress was totally sheer. She complemented the nude piece with a pair of heels and a casual updo.

Reportedly, Censori’s husband Kanye West was nowhere to be seen during the excursion. While the high-profile couple is usually seen together, this doesn’t exactly come as a surprise. After all, the Chicago-born artist just announced that he and Ty Dolla Sign’s joint album Vultures 2 drops tomorrow. There’s still some speculation that the release might not actually happen, however, seeing as though the announcement was deleted within hours.

Either way, fans are looking forward to seeing what happens come midnight, as they’ve been waiting on the album for months. As for Censori, she’s been making plenty of headlines for her edgy looks in recent weeks. This is also far from her most shocking. In July, she and Ye grabbed lunch at the Chateau Marmont, which she enjoyed in a summer-ready outfit. She stunned in a pair of tiny white shorts and a matching bikini top, which she paired with some black heels. Reportedly, she broke the hotel’s dress code, which asks guests to dine in business casual attire.

Luckily, it doesn’t look like she received any complaints. What do you think of Bianca Censori’s latest daring fashion statement? Kid Cudi Reveals His Next Album Is Done And Teases Release Date

Kid Cudi has had a difficult summer. The rapper broke his foot during his raucous Coachella show, and was sidelined for months as a result. He’s provided updates on his progress via social media, including a July 30 confirmation that he could walk again. Evidently, Kid Cudi made a point of being productive during his recovery. The rapper got on Twitter on August 1 to announce that he went full Biggie and recorded an album while he was injured. Better still, the album is already completed.

“I’m so hype,” he wrote on Thursday morning. “I got my next album finished and I really cant wait for yall to get a taste.” If the confirmation of a brand new Kid Cudi album wasn’t enough, the rapper hinted at a release date right around the corner. “Maybe this Fall,” he added. Fans were overjoyed by the news, and Cudi retweeted some of the most excited reactions on his timeline. He also clarified that he’s not taking a break when it comes to recording. A user questioned whether the rapper was still on a hiatus, and he got back at him by tweeting: “U talkin bout when I said that 2 years ago?? Ive dropped 3 albums since.”

Kid Cudi Originally Announced An Album For 2026

Kid Cudi has a point. He’s been a busy man throughout this decade. Ever since his Kanye West collab, Kids See Ghosts, in 2018, the rapper has been dropping critically acclaimed albums. Man on the Moon III: The Chosen lived up to the hype of the first two installments in 2020. Entergalactic and INSANO did well with fans in 2022 and 2023, respectively. That’s not even counting the INSANO (Nitro Mega) release that dropped in February. Kid Cudi is on a creative roll, and it sounds like he’s keeping the momentum going.

Those who have kept up with Cudi, however, may be surprised to learn that he’s eyeing a fall release date. The rapper claimed he was 80% done with his next album in February, but asserted that it wouldn’t be released until 2026. “It’ll be out in 2026,” he tweeted. “As always, we’re takin it someplace new. Just wanted to let yall know, expect an album from me every other year.” The broken foot may have played a role in the scheduling change, since Cudi originally planned to act in the coming year. He even has a role in the upcoming M. Night Shyamalan film Trap. Regardless of the cause, more Cudi music, and sooner, is change we can get behind.
